I pre-ordered the 128gb version from Amazon and received it in late May. I’ve been using it regularly since then.
My main use for it is to hold a copy of my library of FLAC, MP3, AAC, and ALAC files. It’s usually plugged into my network streamer. Whenever I purchase new FLAC tracks, I download them to my computer, write them to this drive, and then plug the drive into the streamer.
I’ve also used it to move large amounts of JPG and RAW photos from one computer to another.
Read/write speeds are as advertised, which is faster than any of the dozen or so USB drives I’ve owned. Build quality is excellent - the drive is tough as nails, yet the champagne color is elegant. It doesn’t feel hot when reading or writing large amounts of files or when plugged in to my computer for long periods of time.
It’s not the smallest USB drive for sure. It sticks out about an inch. But it doesn’t FEEL large and clunky to me, the way some heavy-duty drives do.
Highly recommended.
May I also just say: $45 for 128gb of storage is incredible. There are $1000 Apple laptops that have only 128gb of storage.

Do not trust this memory from samsung. Two usb sticks were tested and proven to be defective using FAKEFLASHTEST. All my other samsung drives and products are very reliable.... this isn't. I don't think the batch is faked or forged, as the packaging, machining, and vendor look very authentic. An additional symptom is HALF of the pictures (and other file types) became corrupted and unreadable when copied to this usb stick. But the second stick stopped being recognized by devices entirely, on first day of usage.
EVEN WORSE, THE REPLACEMENT SHIPPED WAS ALSO DEFECTIVE.
But Amazon was amazing, and backed up the product, as always.

Performance: Plugging the flash drive into a 3.0 USB port in my laptop I was able to get 203 MB/s. Plugging it into a 3.1 USB port in my computer I was able to get 386 MB/s. These were good speeds for me when I was transferring 94 GB worth of files and the time it took wasn't that long as seen in the picture.
Aesthetics: The sleek silver metal body looks nice, but when you insert it into your USB port and then take it back out you can see streak marks on the top and bottom parts of the flash drive frontal area.
Temp: The flash drive can get hot to the touch when you are copying or transferring and you would need to wait a bit before removing it.
Issues: A couple days later, after I opened up my flash drive I noticed the storage amount changed from 128 GB to 32 GB; I tried formatting from what support told me but it didn't work. I ended up getting help with someone from discord and this solution helped me:
1. Click Start, type in Command Prompt and open it
2. In Command prompt type in "Diskpart"
3. Type "list disk"
See what Disks you have, if you only have one disk in your computer then Disk 0 is your storage and Disk 1 is your Flash drive.
4. Type "Select disk 1"
5. Type "clean"
6. Close out of Command Prompt, click start, type in Disk Management and open it
7. Look for the disk there with the black bar and right click the white space below it
8. Click New Simple Volume
9. Make sure the simple volume is on the max space, click next
10. Assign driver letter, click next
11. My file system options were exFAT and NTFS, I chose NTFS
12. Make sure Allocation unit size on default
12. Uncheck "perform a quick format", click next, finish, let it format and bam
You can rename your Flash Drive back to Samsung so you don't get confused later on. I was initially going to give this a 4 star just because of the etching on the flash drive and heat issue, but since I had to do all this to fix an issue that shouldn't have happened I'm giving it a 3 star. Will update later if I have future issues.

I know that there’s tech guys out here bench-marking the performance of this Samsung 3.1 flash drive and that’s cool. I bought this device because it had some features I really like. For starters its got a metal body, shock proof, and water proof…in other words when I leave it in my pocket and it gets washed and then dried it will still work. I’ve done that with a few flash drives before and the flash drives worked but the (plastic and rubber) bodies of those flash drives didn’t fare well. I didn’t know there was a USB 3.1 with faster speeds and I’m happy with what I got. Heck it even works with my iPhone 11 as long as I use the fancy dongle from Apple. Take a look at the pics I uploaded.

Just what my FE-R300SB range needed.
I wasnt sure this was the part I needed, and I contacted AppliancePartsPro and they were super helpful. Once I bought the part it took less than 10 minutes to replace the assembly. Make sure you insert the electronic ribbon properly in the slot.

Looking forward to the best flash drive according to the website but
I was so excited to get my hands on the pen drive and test the speeds but its not fast and also 1 of the 2 flash drive i purchased just stopped , was trying to find a way to take it to the service center but there is none at all in Mumbai so just returned it and will go for another brand which is reliable

I lost my old metal USB from Samsung that was a 64GB. I figured this USB since it is new would be just as good so I purchased a 128GB one. Boy, was I wrong. My old metal Samsung USB would do read/write speeds consistently at 20-30MB/s and it was great. This one does 800 KB/s to 1.2 MB/s. It's horrible. Gosh, what a terrible USB drive.
Buy the old Samsung USB. I linked it below because this new one is trash.

Used for 2 weeks under gentle and clean conditions and it just stopped working. Device doesn't even register anymore.

Samsung BAR Plus 128 GB Flash Drive.
I was testing USB ports and cables for a new computer build using ATTO Disk Benchmark version 4.00.0f2. with the following settings:
Direct I/O – enabled
Bypass Write Cache – enabled (to see the real speed)
Verify Data – enabled
I/O Size – 512 B to 64 MB
File Size – 256 MB
Test Pattern – Random
Typical Write Speed – 48 MB/s to 50 MB/s (with block sizes over 128 KB)
Typical Read Speed – 280 MB/s to 320 MB/s (with block sizes over 128 KB)
After about 80 to 100 passes the Write Speed would erratically drop to 8 MB/s to 12 MB/s.
Not particular to any data block size – will happen on small, medium and large block sizes.
Sometimes for just a couple test patterns and sometimes for 2-3 full passes of ATTO.
The Read Speed stayed consistent at 280 MB/s – 320 MB/s.
No data was corrupted or lost – just erratic write speeds.
The metal casing would get warm but never hot to the touch.
Amazon sent me another Samsung BAR Plus 128 GB Flash Drive.
It did the exact same thing after about 80 to 100 passes of the ATTO Disk Benchmark test.
I sent both back.
I really like all the features of this flash drive.
I hope Samsung will fix the erratic write speeds on the next version.
I will buy it again if they do.

I carry this usb stick in my watch pocket of my blue jeans. It's perfect. It's not going to break. I use it for three computers in different physical locations so it has to stand up and at times to rugged use and it backs up my files flawlessly.

me gusto ya que no e tenido problemas con la capacidad, el acabado es muy bonito, el tamaño tambien es muy compacto portatil facil de visualizar, alcanza velocidades muy altas si lo conectas a un usb3.1y entra en los usb aunq esten algo escondidos. Lo que no me gusto es que entra muy apretado en cualquier usb y en la primera puesta se raya

Me gusta su velocidad siempre y cuando este conectada al puerto USB 3. Se calienta muy poco, cuando lei opiniones previas pense que si la metia a mi cafe herviria pero no creo que pase eso o que para desprenderla de la pc tendria que tomarla con un trapo antes de que fusionara mi pc pero tampoco es asi.
No me gusta que solo le resten 119 GB de los 128 para uso pues me pregunto, ¿ en que se ocupo 10GB? Todas traen menos de lo mencionado comercialmente pero 10GB en esta!!! :/

This thing looks damm good. It seems to be authentic and is pretty fast too. Scrolling down, you will see reviews on these drives being fake and complains of slow speed. I think they bought from other resellers; I bought mine from Samsung's official store (I think) and sold by Amazon US. Durability should be great too if Samsung's advertisement for this drive is to be believe (at least it looks and feels like true). And there seems to be a 5 years warranty too printed on the packaging (although there was no mention of this being in effect for SG on the product page).

No cumple con lo que dice
Es muy bonita memoria pero me dejó bastante que desear, lo conecto a mi puerto usb 3.1 con mi unidad de estado solido de 1500mb de escritura y lectura y aún así no llega a los 300 mb/s de lectura y de escritura tarda una eternidad, solo escribe a 40 mb/s, la verdad no te recomiendo este producto si sueles hacer respaldos o pasar archivos muy grandes

Nada importante que comentar es una usb común y corriendo solo que de mayor capacidad como es de metal de raya a la primera que la intruduces y sacas de un puerto pero es de esperarse en este tipo de acabados, se calienta un poco pero no a derretir como dicen otras personas
