I looked around for a while and was going to splurge for the dell 24" but then hit the brick and mortars for a look-see. The samsung 22 (225bw) seemed just right, and has a VERY nice screen. I didn't really need a 24", I thought in the end. I was using two 19" monitors but wanted the widescreen and more area for work (I write music for film and also for dance).I would recommend that instead of doing the $650 for a dell 24" you do the $300 for this samsung (you can find them for about $310 delivered online) and ALSO get an ergotron neo-flex adjustable monitor arm (part number: 45-174-300) which you can find for $75 delivered online.*Having a nice 22" monitor on a highly adjustable monitor arm is superior to having just a 24" monitor. Also for long-term use, a monitor arm seems absolutely necessary: consider your back, eyes, and neck!note that the 20" and 22" widescreens are apparently the same resolution...so the 22" just gives a bigger image...but for my music writing + scoring this is just fine.( btw. I am not a gamer...and apparently big screens are key for gaming....)

22" TN screen is good enough for daily use, like surfing web or watching a video.Ergonomics design is the edge of this product, which affects my purchase most.

Like Curley Joe, I have been wary of those color utility programs that make changes at the system level. Can I "undo" if necessary? WillXP system restore revert all the changes, etc,etc?For now, I set mine on warm color temp, and fiddled with the contrast andbrightness. I was lucky, I had recently updated my motherboard to aBiostar Geforce 6100 - a budget board, but it's on-board video supportedthe native resolution directly once the monitor's driver was installed.And it looks great.Got mine on Black Friday, [...], after 2 mail-inrebates.One final thing for those using the analog vga connection (as I am)the cable supplied with the unit seems of questionable quality,my image had a strange color cast to it, and very slightly fuzzy. I replacedit with another spare cable I had laying around the houseand the image improved substantially. 4 out of 5, would have given it 5, but forthe odd, confusing, and poorly (or not at all) explained color adjustments.

I have been looking to buy the 225BW for over 6 months and finally the price comes down under 300. The picture quality is good, the 3 years warranty is nice, the height adjustable stand is a big-plus. For this price I think it is the best choice among all 22" LCD monitor on market. I owned other Samsung CRT monitors and they are good quality and last a long time. Another good choice is the HP W2207 which has BrightView LCD and the picture contrast and quality are superior to the 225BW. But it is 83 dollars more and for this I chose the Samsung.

This Samsung Monitor was purchased and sent to a friend in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Carefully packed, the monitor arrived intact and is giving complete satisfaction to the end user.

I have been using this monitor for about a week now. It does require a video card with driver that supports its max. resolution. Picture quality is very good and the back light breeding is not noticeable under regular conditions. Text is not as sharp as my Apple powerbook or Sony laptop but acceptable. The stand is really handy and it is not very big when it is placed on the desk. A very good buy.

It is an amazing monitor for a great price. It even works with my old Nvidia graphics card. Cannot complain at all. I love the height adjustment as well.

Great product I would give it a 4.5.The only problem is what every one has said about the bleeding other than that great for the price.

This is a beautiful monitor with clear picture. The problem is stupidity at Samsung. Many Samsung widescreen monitors rotate 90 degrees, so you can view a long document. This monitor even comes with the software to do this (MagicRotation) but the stand is not built to allow the monitor to rotate. It will raise in height, tilt front to back, and swivel side to side. No rotation! What a disappointment! I guess I could spend some time trying to build a custom bracket to allow the monitor to attach to the stand and swivel - or maybe they sell one? Samsung customer care didn't know.P.S. You will need to upgrade your video card to be able to use this. It must support 1680X1050 resolution. I ordered the Diamond Radeon 9550 256 Mb and it works fine.
