Samsung действительно бросил мяч с 20 ультра. Особенно с камерой. В центре внимания постоянно охота, и когда она, наконец, резкий он часто выскакивает в центре внимания снова, как вы берете фотографии. Я использую этот телефон в основном для игр, надежность и производительность! Обычно хватает 10+ часов подряд игровые настройки на максимум, тогда, конечно, я обязательно подключите зарядное устройство в розетку. Но 10+ часов, вы не можете разбить его.

У телефона меньше, чем 2 месяца. Камеры стекло разбивается без каких-либо неправильного. Samsung не утверждают, что это дефект производителей. Получил оценку 110 на замену. Жаль, что я никогда не купил телефон. Не покупайте

I purchased this phone, tested the performance against iPhone 11 on multiple US carriers, wanted to like it, but finally returned it.

The S20 Ultra phone, regardless of memory, is sold in 2 variants. The USA version (SM-G988U base model number) and some versions for China and Latin America are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon, and mostly worldwide versions (SM-G988F/N/B base model numbers) are powered by the Samsung Exynos chips. The US version does not have the dual/hybrid SIM card tray that can either hold one SIM card and a MicroSD memory card, or hold 2 SIM cards. The USA variant has a SIM card tray that holds one SIM card, and optionally, a MicroSD memory card. Non-USA versions can handle 2 SIM cards and come with a tray that can hold 2 physical SIM cards. USA variants will have to support CDMA (Sprint or Verizon) carriers, so dual physical SIM cards are not supported in the USA version.

Unfortunately, CDMA is not going away anytime soon. Although Verizon has stopped activating new CDMA devices, they will not activate GSM only devices on their network, and they have to continue supporting CDMA access to millions of older devices in use, especially by users on prepaid accounts. Sprint steadfastly continues to refuse activating non-CDMA compatible devices on their network with no end in sight. How do I know this? I have tried activating an ATT unlocked GSM only Samsung phone on Verizon and Sprint, and did not even get past the IMEI check on both. So CDMA support is a must-have for me.

If you buy the non-USA version from third party sellers so you can get the dual-SIM feature, be aware that the non-USA version will not support Samsung Pay and some other features in USA, and will not work with Sprint or Verizon. That device will not let you register US credit cards in Samsung Pay. It won't allow entering US billing zip codes when trying to register a credit card. Yes, I know first hand because I also bought a non-USA version and had to return that device as well because of this limitation.

In addition, from published benchmarks, the Samsung Exynos chip is inferior in both performance and battery efficiency, and phones using those chips are easily rooted. The Qualcomm chip driven phones are relatively a lot more secure and efficient.

As of March 2020, the Samsung website says that eSIM is supported on these phones, but they don't clearly state if both US and non-US variants support eSIM. The eSIM will give us the ability to use 2 phone lines. I saw there was no software ability to add a new eSIM on my Samsung S20 Ultra. This setting is in the System Preferences -> Connections -> Manage SIM Cards section on the Galaxy Fold device, but the S20 Ultra did not have that menu item. So, my guess is that either the USA variant does not support eSIMs at all, or Samsung MAY add this ability in a future software update. This is a big miss from Samsung in my opinion, because I cannot migrate away from my iPhone 11 that works great with eSIMs simultaneously with a physical SIM card.

Sadly, the reporters who wrote online reviews for this phone from the announcement to the launch date only focused on reviewing the camera on this device and complained about lack of 120Hz refresh at high resolution, battery running out soon at high refresh rates, and steep price. They ignored writing about things that matter to the rest of us, such as eSIM support, call quality, speaker quality, face recognition speed and fingerprint sensor performance.

I wish Samsung were more forthcoming with their details for eSIM support on this phone, if at all. Right now in March 2020, that detail is in just one small-print line with an asterisk at the bottom of their specifications page that eSIMs are supported, but not in all countries. 2 and a half stars removed from my rating because of lack of eSIM support on USA phone variants.

I tried the unlocked S20 ultra with nano SIM cards from these carriers:

1) AT&T Prepaid: Phone mostly works out of the box with calls and basic data, but visual voicemail, VOLTE and wifi calling did not work. I had to flash the AT&T userdata file (check xda-developers for links and steps) to get visual voicemail and wifi calling working. That userdata file replaces the default Samsung phone dialer with AT&T's clumsy dialer with misaligned buttons that include visual voicemail and AT&T video calling buttons. 5G is not supported on any prepaid carrier in the USA at this time, but LTE speeds on AT&T prepaid were great with fast ping times of about 25ms and I consistently got download speeds in excess of 120mbps.

2) Verizon Prepaid: Phone worked out of the box but no visual voicemail. I had to flash the Verizon userdata file to get visual voicemail working. No 5G service supported on Prepaid, but I got LTE+ speeds in excess of 150mbps consistently. Ping times were a bit slower than AT&T, with an average of 60ms.

3) T-Mobile prepaid: I had to flash the TMobile firmware to get most things working, including visual voicemail and wifi calling. Despite T-Mobile's heavy advertising about nationwide coverage, I did not get any download speeds higher than 60 mbps where I live, in the Philadelphia metro area. I don’t use T-Mobile for my daily use, but had an active SIM card with me that I used to test this phone.

4) Visible Wireless: I had the best experience with Visible on this phone. Everything works out of the box with no firmware flashes required. Visual voicemail, wifi calling and VOLTE all worked without a hiccup. No 5G support because Visible is a subsidiary of Verizon, but not a postpaid service. But LTE+ works out of the box, and speeds were insanely good consistently, with north of 200mbps most of the time. Ping times were about 35ms. I get the same speeds with Visible on my iPhone 11 pro max as well.

5) Google Fi: Everything but visual voicemail worked out of the box. I did not try any firmware flashes to get voicemail because I use Google Fi only for data while on my international travel trips. The Samsung Galaxy S20 ultra device also does not support Google Fi's automatic switching between TMobile and Sprint towers while in the USA like a Pixel device. Google Fi is the main reason I need eSIM support.

Based on the above, I think all other USA prepaid and MVNO carriers like Straight Talk, Total Wireless, Cricket, Ting, Mint, Boost and MetroPCS will work on the unlocked device, but you may have to flash the firmware of the parent carrier to get full support for visual voicemail, VOLTE and wifi calling if you buy this device for those carriers.

5G will work only if you have postpaid service from AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint, and if you are in an area that has 5G towers. Your mileage will vary. I am tired of the saturated media hype of 5G, or lack thereof, and am experiencing 5G fatigue right now. I don't care about it or desire it anymore, even though I am yet to experience it in person.

1 star removed from my rating because of firmware flashing required to use this phone fully on most US carriers. Firmware flashing is a fairly technical process, and best done by someone who knows what they are doing.

Call quality on the Samsung device is about the same as the iPhone 11. Crystal clear pretty much all the time. The ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on the phone is mediocre and is mostly hit or miss, and about the same as it was on the Galaxy S10 devices. Wish they just went back to the hardware sensor that worked flawlessly every time. Face recognition is decent, not anywhere as good as the iPhone11, but works as an alternative to fingerprints nicely on this phone. Half a star removed from my rating because of the unreliable fingerprint sensor.

I use a DSLR camera for my photo needs, so I am not bothered about the onboard camera performance on the phone.

The one thing that I did love about the Samsung S20 ultra is the implementation of full screen gestures that pretty much make the iPhone’s “swipe up for home screen” gesture lame and crippled in comparison. Samsung does not enable this by default, and it is in the Settings -> Display -> Navigation Bar -> Full Screen Gestures toggle. With this setting, there are 3 swipe up bars on the bottom of the screen, compared to 1 swipe up bar on the iPhone, for running apps, home screen and back button. I got very used to this lightning fast way of paging through screens and apps, and the iPhone swipe up gesture now seems glacial and comical for me because of the lack of a back button gesture. To take advantage of this feature and if you use a case on your phone, you will need the Samsung case that has the gap cutout at the bottom so your finger does not scrape the lip of a case every time you swipe. Plus, you will have to remove the screen protector that Samsung ships pre-installed on the device. The screen protector does not curve over the edge of the screen, so it will annoy mildly when swiping up.

I wanted to like the S20 Ultra. I use an iPhone 11 pro max (a silly name for a device, and I think that Apple marketers were watching a male organ enhancement advertisement when they named it) and I hate it. I hate that Apple’s overhyped dark mode is just a lame implementation, with their own Safari browser and Mail apps on the phone not rendering any website or email message in dark theme. I despise Siri that fails to work 9 out of 10 times. The Outlook app on my iPhone handles push email a lot better than the native Mail app. The wifi login on an airplane and in hotel rooms is lethargic and sometimes never works on my phone. The native keyboard on an iPhone is just plain lousy even with Swype. I could bang my gums and rant on, but the point I am making is that I am not an Apple fanboy by any stretch.

Despite my hatred of the iphone, I must say that it supports eSIMs beautifully, and a single unlocked iphone mostly supports all world bands without resorting to geographical border driven device and firmware variants.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon powered unlocked S20 ultra comes close to this utopia on paper, but Samsung had to ruin it by:

a) Not supporting eSIMs on day one for all users everywhere – 2.5 stars cost of rating in this review

b) Requiring firmware flashes to make it work for visual voicemail and other features on major US carriers – 1 star removed

c) Forcing a slow and unreliable fingerprint sensor on users – Half a star removed

I can live with firmware flashes because I am very familiar with the steps, and the fingerprint sensor did not annoy me too much. Ultimately, my phone went back for a refund because the lack of eSIM support broke the deal for me.
