We both have Galaxy phones so I decided to get my wife the Galaxy 4 Classic to replace her old Fitbit.
She loves the 4 Classic over the Fitbit hands down!
Now she got me one and I don't wear a watch so I put it on and started setting it up which is fairly easy, there are several updates for it before setting up all the watch stuff. I've been wearing it tracking all my health signs and sleep patterns it works flawless with my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. I send text with it take phone calls, get text and emails, watch all my health signs, I think this thing is awesome!!! As far as battery life goes I play with this thing quit a bit and after 12 hours it still has 65% to 80% battery left. I charge it 100% before bed and wear it all night so it can track my sleep patterns. Next morning it still has over 80% battery. I haven't used it to listen to music yet but that day is coming so I'll see how the battery lasts then. About the only thing I've noticed that needs improvement is the step counter. There needs to be a step calibration setting for the length of a person's stride. I'm 6'2" and have a long stride my wife is 5'6" and her stride is a lot shorter. I've notice I can take 50 steps and it records that I've taken 70. So what's up with that. Now I haven't used it for any excersise modes yet but maybe with the walk mode on it might be more accurate I don't know.
I have heard if you don't have a Galaxy watch you won't get all the features the watch 4 has to offer. I'm really liking this watch so far if my opinion changes I'll update this review.
Highly recommend the Samsung Galaxy 4 Classic so far.

3 months or so, ago, I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Flip 3 5G. Received a $150.00 Samsung Credit. Since I already have a pair of Galaxy Buds Pro. I sat on that credit. I am a mechanical watch guy. I own at least a dozen or so mechanical watches. Smart watches are really not my thing. I used to wear a Rolex GMT 2 18k for travel. Getting old and wearing a gold watch is too much a target, I bought a Breitling Galactic Unitime. However, that watch is running fast and I need to take that in for service. I paid $800.00 to service a Rolex DD at Rolex Service Center. While the Breitling should charge less, it would still be more than the cost of a smart watch.

Due to COVID, I am not travelling, so I let the Breitling in the watch winder. My daily watch was a Rolex DD in white metal. There are quite a number of news about punks robbing folks with nice watches. I do not want to be a potential target. So, I spent my Samsung credit on a Galaxy Watch 4 44mm. I ordered a white one with bigger screen despite I have a smaller wrist as my old eyes need all the help I can get. I ordered it with a regular black band and I am surprised that I would like it so much. Having a Flip phone is cool but able to answer a call with a wrist watch is cooler. I can choose to be Captain Kirk or Dick Tracy.

I like the functionality of this watch so much, I purchased the Classic 4 on Black Friday week with a charger. Both watches function about the same but I do like the Classic 4 better. Classic 4 added a rotating bezel which is quite handy. Putting both watches side by side, they look the same size despite one is listed 44mm and the other 46mm. The Classic looks like a watch while the regular one looks futuristic. Both watches wear big and the bands while comfortable do not fit the watch that well. They do not bend at the attaching prongs and created gaps on the wrist.

I do wish Google Assistant is on this watch instead of Bixby. I could side load the Google Assistant but I choose to wait for Samsung to install this at a later update. Google Pay works, I like the fact I do not have to pull out my wallet or even my phone to pay. I use World Time, Weather and Calendar on the watch. I do not need to pull out the phone most of the time.

Some reviewers are saying that the watch does not hold charge that well. Both of mine would last at least 2 days. I do not set the display to always on. Rotate my wrist would turn the display on for about 5 seconds which is long enough to read the time. I wore my watch sleeping just to check my sleep for fun. I would wake up in the morning and place the watch on its charger. By the time I made breakfast and finished it, the watch would be fully charged.

I am a couch potato. My exercise is walking the dog while I dog sit for my son. So, the health functions are more secondary to me but I can see that would be beneficial for others.
I do recommend this Galaxy 4 Classic. In fact, either the Galaxy 4 or the Classic 4 would be good. Personally, I like the Classic better but I am not sure it is worth the extra money.

One thing that I do need to point out is: - Ordering from Amazon does not allow selection of the bands. Black watch comes with black band and white watch comes with white band. However, the band I received is sort of light gray color. Just be aware that the watch bands that come with the watches are large sizes. I have a 6.5 inches wrist. While I can use the large band by using the first hole, it looks ridiculous. I swapped the bands on the watches. Now, the Classic 4 has the regular black band and the other one has the large grayish band. I do not need two of the very similar watches so I am going to pass it on to one of my family members. Just be aware while the price in Amazon might be better, you do not have a selection for bands in color or size.

BTW. Not all carriers support eSIM on a smart watch. Google Fi does not so I did not get one with LTE. Glad that I noticed this before I purchased the watches as that would be a waste of money. If you want a LTE version, I suggest you check your carrier first.

Upon receiving, noticed the Samsung seal was broken and replaced with dealer’s own seal.

The watch looks new with no visible scratches. Used the supplied magnetic charger to charge the watch. Powered on the watch and paired to my Samsung phone using Samsung connect.

Not issue with all its functions like Samsung Pay, Sleep tracking etc. Overall satisfied with the watch. Despite being an export set, it costs half as much as a local set.

Update... I am not sure what changed, possibly a software update did it. But I started getting much better battery life out of this watch. I just got in the habit of charging it every night and using super conservative power settings for pretty much everything, and before it was a struggle to make it all day in a charge. And then all the sudden it wasn't an issue anymore. Now when I put it on the charger at night if sometimes still has 80% battery left.

So a typical Samsung mobile device. Good hardware, bad software. But I updated my review to not be so critical because I don't have anything to complain about at the moment.

I bought this to replace an older Galaxy Watch that lasted me a few years. I was initially very happy with this watch.

But then after about 3 months, the battery life started going way downhill. When it was new, it could go 2-3 days before it needed to charge. Now, it can't even make it 12 hours before complaining about low battery - and that's with every possible power saving feature on. GPS is off. All the features that turn on the screen are disabled - the only way the screen turns on is by me pressing the power/home button. And even with the "battery saver" mode enabled, now today it is down to 5% battery after wearing it for 14 hours and barely even turning the screen on.

This model is crap when it comes to battery life. Stay away!

por no ser nuevo, tiene una pequeña raya en la pantalla y pareciera que le cambiaron el brazalete, porque tenía la idea de que era blanco y llegó gris...
aún no valoro muy bien el rendimiento de la batería, el 3 se descarga muy rápido y eso es un poco frustrante.
me parece que la condición es buena por la relación con el precio por ser de segunda, aunque terminé pagando casi 50$ adicionales al que había elegido en mejores condiciones que nunca llegó aparte de la angustia de espera por más de 3 semanas, cuando verdaderamente urgía porque sólo me encontraba de paso!

Sleep track and you just get a baseline for yourself and then figure out when you're doing worse and when you're doing better. And. And that's about it I don't think it's totally accurate or anything like that but you get the idea of where you are and what you're doing way worse or way better.. And you know what date is. I'm disabled so I've I forget a lot because it doesn't matter to me anymore. Battery life day and a 1/2 that's it that's it. If you expect anymore you're really not gonna get it. But for me that's enough that's fine it doesn't matter I can get to my charger it's no big deal.

Tracks my sleep time, and battery has much improved from earlier models

5 years ago, I got the previous Samsung Galaxy Watch 2 as a birthday present. I functioned fine and worked well for about 4 years. Then battery power became a real issue. I finally had to retire that watch in April when the only way the watch would retain a charge for any length of time was run it in low power mode, which disabled all the features.

So I replaced it was the Galaxy Watch 4. This was a natural, because it meant I was already familiar with the Samsung Wear app on my phone, and knew how to use it. But I was in for a pleasant suprise with a variety of the new features: heartbeat and EKG monitors, body mass index monitor, stress monitors, the ability fully customize how tiles and apps are laid out (so as to make it easier to get to the ones you use most frequently.) And it has a compass! I had to purchase a compass with my previous watch.

I'm still having fun getting use to all the features (I particularly enjoy that you can answer a phone call on a paired phone from your watch by moving your arm up and down a couple of times.) Samsung promises battery life will be must better with this generation watch, and this promise will take at least another four years (subjectively) for me to be able to confirm. But so far, this new watch has made a fan out of me.

Love the watch, disappointed that the 46mm classic silver is not available in Canada, thus I had to purchase from USA Amazon. The problem is that the blood pressure monitor does not work because it is a USA watch and Samsung support will not offer any solutions other than to wait until it is approved for use in the states. Fortunately there is a work-around I found online that allows it to work with a modified app.

Battery life is better than expected. I can get 2 full days if I don't play with it a lot, still leaving notifications, messages, email, etc on, and taking health readings (BP, O2, ECG) daily. I don't use the phone feature much, or reply to a lot of messages from the watch, mostly just check and read whats coming in.

2. The battery life is good enough if you charge at night. Some buyers were complained that the buttery is not holding long enough. I would suggest them buying a military style watch that has less functionality vs. Samsung but longer periods between charges.
3. I have a Galaxy phone, and after extensive search and comparison, I have decided that this watch is the best fit to my requirements:
- large screen
- the display that can show several data at the same time (time, weather, numbr of steps total made, etc.)
- GPS (after setting the destination, it vibrates and shows every turn);
- you can download a music and play songs while you are walking or doing anything;
- it synchronizes the alarms, messages, and phone calls, so, you may deny any spam calls or talk directly through the watch like you use the speakerphone on the phone. The sound is loud enough and nobody complained that they can't hear me well.
- it has several apps preloaded. You may add more like on your phone. I have added an app for my phone camera to be able to remotely manage it. It is really a fun!
- it has several preloaded texts, and you can reply back without typing (it has a keyboard similar to the stationary phones). You may add more reply texts to the list if you want.
- it synchs your contact list along with the pictures.
- and yes, it can measure your health vitals including even a cardiogram that you can share with your doc if needed;
- the surprise: a personal assistant that can answer your questions!
- calendar with events;
- compass;
- it can sync with earbuds through bluetooth
- more...
So, no doubts, you can get a lot for every dollar you spent on this watch.
A regular day without intensive usage of GPS or music will leave about 45-55% of the battery juice.
It take time to learn how to setup the app on your phone and how actually use all functions of the watch but in the end you will be satisfied!

So far the watch seems to properly do what it is designed to do.
I've had no problems but it's new and I'm still trying it out.
Biggest complaints, up to now, are the battery life and the stock band.
The battery life is poor. My previous Galaxy Watch easily got 3 and closer to 4 days of moderate use
before needing recharged. Guess I knew about the lower battery life before getting the watch tho.
About the band, come on Samsung!! If you are going to provide a premium watch have it come with something better than a flimsy, cheap, silicone band. Really! Additionally, my previous Galaxy Watch came with an additional strap to accommodate wrist size differences. My Classic did not thus forcing the owner to purchase another band to accommodate their wrist size. Additionally the two small retaining bands on the strap are a bit to large to hold the strap in place As of now alternative bands seem to be limited , but I'm not sure if the Galaxy 3 series bands properly fit the 4 series. I own the older Galaxy. In short, I'm sure other new 4 series owners will probably echo my concerns.
One thing I really like is that when I remove my 4 Classic for whatever, like charging, I can wear my old Galaxy watch and, via a Wear setting option, my old watch pairs with my phone automatically when I put it on it while not wearing my 4 and does the same when I put the 4 back on thus keeping information current.
Overall, so far, I am not displeased with the watch but as I use it longer I can have a more accurate impression. However I hope Samsung addresses my concerns, as well of those of others, in the next watch they place on the market. While the watch, overall, is OK I sometimes wonder if I should have waited until the next series comes out.

Watch works well. Bought for health tracking. Battery life barely makes a day.

First of all, I love the design. the 46mm really looks beautiful and I like the physical rotating bezel. The new watch faces are also nice. Integration with the Samsung Health app is excellent too.
I also am able to use Samsung Pay/ Google pay with this watch so I don't have to get my cards out anytime I have to buy something.
I love that it's now running WearOS instead of Tizen so it works well with Google services. However, battery life is my biggest grief. It lasts less than 2 days, which I'm pretty sure has something to do with the OS (considering that this is the first time that Google actually updated WearOS, thanks to Samsung, they got some optimizing to do).
The body composition feature is the feature I was most excited about but it seems like the accuracy is not so good. I have a digital bathroom scale with body comp feature and it says I'm at 12% BF, but the watch says I'm at 18% - and I'm pretty skinny now. So there's so much to improve in the software department.
Overall, I can track my workouts, steps, heart rate, sleep hours.

46mm too big for women. But loved the functionality. Returned and trying the 42mm.

I was so excited for this. I wasn't going to use it like most people, I just needed sleep tracker, step counter, and blood oxygen. Everything else was gravy. I bought this in August. It is October. The sleep tracker has only worked a week or two. It no longer tracks it. I've tried restarting and deleting and reloading. I'm pretty sure the step tracker never worked. How I gained steps sitting at a desk is a mystery. So I brought out my oxygen monitor, because it, atleast, does it's job. Otherwise, it's pretty cute, has apps, etc. That's as far as I got in the month I've owned it... Seriously disappointed.

Es un excelente reloj pero el problema es la duración de la batería, ahora si no tienes problemas con cargarlo todas los días entonces es perfecto. Igual esta la cuestión de que no puedas usar el ecg y tampoco pude ponerle la region de latinoamerica de ahí en fuera todo funciona muy bien.

Muy bien reloj, lo he usado para correr, el bisel está genial. Un buen seguimiento del sueño. Se empareja con aplicaciones como MuFitnessPal para medir las calorías consumidas. En general muy satisfecho!!

I don't usually like wearing things like this but it has made my life easier especially since i work in a loud factory and now I can see when my kids and their school tries to contact me now

I got the Classic 46mm in silver and it's an absolutely beautiful watch. Very functional as well. Having come from an Active2, I absolutely love the bezel control. Also, the watch is a lot more intuitive. It was a brilliant idea to make the music control player the default screen when playing music from the phone. I don't think I'll ever use the earbuds to control again.

Sure, the battery was better on older versions. But I'll trade a day of battery life for how snappy, intuitive & beautiful it's gotten. Not like any of us are getting multiple days out of our phones. So what's the big deal with charging an extra device? But to be honest, I have gotten 2 days off a single charge with this watch with very light use.

Watch just updated so you can use Google Assistant instead of Bixby. Cool design and everyday useful. Do Not Swim in this watch. Read the horror stories of people getting a factory defect that let's water in and Samsung telling them they are out of luck cause water damage voids warranty.

Mis primeras impresiones sobre el reloj inteligente de Samsung clásico de 46 es fácil de usar cómodo en la muñeca muy elegante. lo compre ya que el vendedor hacia referencia a que es modo E.U y principalmente por sus funciones de salud ya que lo compare con otros y el Samsung trae medir la presión arterial más la funcion de electrocardiograma que otros no traen pero al momento de escoger idioma no trae mi región que es México y tampoco la de Estados Unidos para registrarme tuve que escoger Guatemala ya que las opciones que me daba eran regiones de centro América como: Colombia, Chile, Perú, etc..... como no utilizo mucho la funciones de GPS la batería me dura unas 36 hrs

I have had it for a bit and enjoy using it. It does connect to phone, text and phone calls. However, it does not connect with it's own phoneline, which is fine for me, but may not work for others. Also, the 46mm is big and I wish I had gotten the smaller one, but I am used to it.

The watch is overall nice, but has a major battery life issue. I use the watch mostly for exercise for about an hour a day, and the rest of the day the watch rests idle on my wrist.

I'm having to charge the watch at least twice a day, and has never not depleted overnight, despite being charged before bed.

This is a stark contrast to other smart watches I've used (such as the Fitbit ionic) and while this has more "features" they are hardly usable if the watch battery is dead, and exacerbate the poor battery life if not.

It's a shame as the watch is otherwise good, but considering the high price tag and lackluster battery life, I would not consider purchasing this or recommending it to anyone.

Great watch with great features and the ability to change multiple faces. Hate i cant use the ecg/ekg feature but its only available to use on Samsung phones. Its why i got the watch but im not buying a new phone
