So you can't turn of the irritating shutter sound again. If you add a VPN connection it disables the fingerprint scanner. It's that sort of irritating lawyer driven rubbish that loses this phone a star.
The good though is good. The casing is not as pretty as the HTC One M8, but thanks to a grippy back and ridged edge, is much easier to handle. Looks wise it's practical if not beautiful, and I'm ok with that.
The waterproofing requires a little flap over the charging socket. It's not as much of a faff as I expected.
The screen is sublime. Best I've seen so far. Black is, while colours are rich and bright.
The camera is great. It seems to react quickly and even in low light takes remarkably clear pictures.
Performance wise it seems quick enough. I don't run anything that would push it to its limits anyway. I wouldn't say it was quicker or slower than an HTC One M8 (which I'm using as the comparator in this review) or for that matter an S4.
The fingerprint scanner works, register a finger (or thumb in my case) and use it to unlock by simply dragging over the central button. As a test I've just done it with one hand without issue.

There are a number of good reviews here and I do not want to rehash what has, necessarily been said before, so here is “my 2 pence worth”.
Samsung's Galaxy S5 excels at everything that seems to matter - Android 4.4 KitKat OS; a bright, good display; and powerful quad-core processor. The specification certainly does not let it down a 2.5GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 2800mAh (removable) battery, 16 / 32GB of memory (with up to 128GB extra through microSD.
The not so good, in my humble opinion, it seems the Galaxy S5 is only a small advancement over the Galaxy S4. The fingerprint scanner can be a challenge to use. The camera could take a while to load up; games sometimes showed lag time.
That said The Samsung Galaxy S5 is relatively well constructed and, is a good superphone. I cannot help in being repetitive when I say the highlights, for me, are the microSD slot and removable battery, as these are good things to have, if nothing else for peace of mind. If they fail they can be replaced, newer generation of of phones have these components built-in. This is a phone where I can use the keyboard feature in relative comfort, although it still has an amount of bloatware that needs to be removed. In my opinion this is a smartphone that is certainly well deserving of a four star rating.
.

It is the European variant, G900F. Samsung have not released an open UK specific model. On first boot the user selects the language from a dropdown list.
Though larger than my S2, of course, it doesn’t feel heavier though I was wary of it slipping from my hold. This is not a criticism, if you want a phone with a large screen you have to spread your fingers more which reduces grip. I fixed that problem by fitting a case, (Otterbox Defender), which protects and feels ‘grippy’ in the hand albeit adding some weight.
Next I downloaded the official Samsung manual, a PDF file with 249 pages! (http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201404/20140402111855054/SM-G900F_UM_EU_Kitkat_Eng_D06_140312.pdf). I have started to work my way through it, more features and facilities than I could ever have imagined. I decided to ‘master’ the camera. I thought that to start with I would use just ‘auto’ and took a handheld shot of my wife outside in good light from about 2 metres. Wow, the exposure and focus were spot on – I could zoom the shot by x4 and see individual hairs on her head!
Battery drain is far better than with my S2. This topic is very subjective, of course, it depends on how you use the device. With me it dropped by 25% in the first 24 hours and that’s with wi-fi and GPS enabled. On the ‘Ultra Power Saving’ setting at 90% battery it tells me it will last for 11 days! This setting allows calls, texts and alarm clock only and I use it overnight. The user can add a few other apps to this setting.
So I will continue to plough through the manual and maybe update my review later. For now I am very impressed.

Structure - a very light phone but if you are not really looking for that specific premium feel which iphone provides, I think you will be fine. I like it specially the new back cover. It fell from my hand on a concrete floor and came out without any damage.

When i received the phone the box itself had a bit of dent at one corner and the seal sticker was also a bit strange.
However after switching on the phone it works as it should! Pretty amazing functions and design, can't tell anything wrong about it! Although i guess this phone was also not produced by Samsung for the uk, it functions perfectly and it doesn't make any difference whatsoever during daily use. One thing i noticed is that somehow the phone doesn't let me delete the Chinese language from the input language list, but i wouldn't use it anyway so that's the only catch! But again - it doesn't affect the usage in any way: I'm using Hungarian and English - I'm simply swipe over the Chinese language, i have one option more than i need.
So i would suggest do not hesitate to buy if you're a bit concerned. I found the same phone for cheaper too on other sites, (around £25 chalet than here), but since i was worried about the reason that makes than cheaper than any shops, i thought i can trust amazon in case anything goes wrong, so i bought it here.
Again, excellent product and if you don't like anything amazon is still there to help you! Why would you buy the same for around £560 than?

1, the screen is beautiful
2, it has a fair bit of power
3, the battery
4, it has a good camera
5, expandable memory up to 128gb!!!(this is a huge reason i bought this phone)
6, its android.
Personally to me this phone is better than the s6 as you dont have to pay though the nose for more memory for the phone + 128gb sd card its about £360 all in for the s6 128gb model its over £600. Most of the performance the s6 has is not noticeable to 90% of people only is it noticeable on paper.
I play ps1,snes games on my s5 i have a 128gb sd card in it and it does everything beautifully only down side i have with the s5 is the bloat ware.
If you want a phone that is actually good and you dont care on the latest and greatest looks this phone is a good buy with some power under the hood.

Language as a default language and it was quite a challenge to change the
Language into English, went on to utube to see if any info into changing
the language but I couldn’t find anything on changing Korean language into English,
Secondly when you put UK sim card in it, it does not connect to network automatically
You have to go into Settings—More network---mobile network---network operators—
It will then scan and search for UK network, after that click on your operator network.
To change from Korean language into English go into setting---scroll down and tap onto
A blue circle with letter A in the middle----it will bring up a screen ---then tap on the
Second line on the screen---it will then giveyou option of European languages to choose
From---tap on to English. I think my phone was setup for sale in south Korea,
Even though it’s European model SM-G900F. I did contact the Amazon they responded
Very quickly to help, but before I could contact them again , I managed to resolve the problem.
It’s a very good phone and I must say excellent service from Amazon.

I kept this phone as it seems unlikely I'll be in the right country if I ever have problems.
I have many Samung products. Original Galaxy Tab 7", Galaxy Tab 10.1", Galaxy Tab S 10.5", Galaxy S5 (after having had an S2, then an S3) A Galaxy Gear 2 and 3 Samsung TV's. With the travelling I do, I will be looking at aliterate makes with warranties that are more globally comprehensive.
So - The build from this supplier was not as stated on the spec on Amazon.
And Samsung don't cater for my travelling lifestyle with their warranties. I look forward in the future to spending my thousands on another manufacturers products

Long review, I'm a long time fan of the Galaxy mobile phones. I've had all of them, bar the s4. I didn't get the s4 as I decided to get the HTC one m8 but I couldn't get on with it. Don't get me wrong it is a very good phone but it wouldn't last 24 hours on one charge and the photo gallery would fill up with my Facebook friends profile pictures! Going by the 'Professional' reviews the Galaxy s5 is a step down. The S5 is a fantastic phone, battery life is fantastic, when i checked last night it was on 56% after 21 hours! The screen is superb, the colours jump out at you. Speed wise the s5 and the HTC are identical, even though the S5 clock speed is higher. It doesn't matter as both phones are really fast. One thing I will mention is the camera, it is amazing, not so good in dim conditions but in normal conditions it's fantastic. I bought this phone from Iheadphones, Genuine euro S5 at a great price. I'm sorry I didn't get this first, as a friend put it "it's like having a computer in your pocket"

-First of all the battery life is better than any smartphones but still it has got Ultra Power saving mode. It is said that ultra P saving mode saves a lot of power. I found it is not that much satisfactory. The battery was draining so fast even though I enabled U P Saving mode.
-Increased Touch sensitivity is not working sometimes whereas works fine sometime. dodgy..
-The camera is bulging outwards. This made me feel a bit awkward to place my phone on the table. When placing on table the camera lens comes to contact on the table at first. I spent a lot of money by searching the case that could protect the camera. I hardly found a plastic case that really protects the camera lens.
-The signal reception is dodgy too. Other phones are picking the signals easily whereas no signal on the GS5. To regain the signals, I had the restart the phone. It applies to the mobile data as well.
-The phone becomes incredibly hot wile charging. And I afraid to leave it charging unattended. But the battery charges amazingly fast.
- Phone fails to respond at least once a week. When pressing the home button. The soft UI keys lit up but the screen is all black and blank. This remains for about 15 seconds or so. I believe some secret processes takes place sometime.
- Has got really less RAM. 2GB RAM is more than 3quartes full already with pre-loaded apps in it.
-Speaker is at the back of the phone. I personally didn't like it. The sound what I felt was like on only one side of the phone. A bit awkward.
Overall the phone is good.

I Would Highly Recommend Buy A OTTERBOX (£30.00 Approx.) For Keeping The Mobile Sate From Accidentally Damage
I Have Added A 32GB Micro SD Card Just For a Back Up.
Would Recommend This Mobile If You Are Not To Fussy on Specs
Replace The S5 For S2 Because I dropped the S2 and Damaged The Screen, Which I Bought a replacement Screen For S2 Just Use this For a Back Up

Now after taking my phone to samsung they have said that my phone is not under 'UK' warranty because its a model from another country. I was furious and disappointed that such a company would falsely advertise a product on a UK based website and not even hint that its not covered by warranty.
I am currently having to go through a battle with them and amazon claims to get a full refund as it makes no sense having a phone that if its damaged you have to send it back to hong kong for it to be fixed and thats IF they can even fix it. This also means i have to go a minimum of 10-12days without a mobile device.
If you are thinking about getting a phone from this seller i would advise you to go else where and be careful to fall for the trap like i did, as there are other companies just like this that advertise on amazon selling customers false dreams.
I am very disappointed and have definitely learnt a valuable lesson. I didn't think amazon worked alongside companies like this!

I decided to encrypt mine for added security. Not sure it was a good idea as it now has a log in screen at boot up and then does a second boot after the password. Also it seems more sluggish.
As I switch it off a lot the logging in is a bit of a nuisance and to add to that it always prompts you to ensure the usb cover is on. The usb cover is a nuisance as well. It has got fingerprint recognition but I have some doubts about using it, so haven't.
There were 2 updates to the phone software recently and they worked well. I read they were security fixes.
There's also a lot of stuff on the phone I don't want and can't remove. Nothings perfect so another phone will just have other foibles. Overall this is a great phone as was my S2 which it replaced after years of good service.

========== Disdvantages ===========

Do not drop this phone, the screen will crack!
After hard usage, battery gets drained

I bought my first phone from Market Deal and it was not brand new, it was a refurbished model and the battery life was 12-14 hours with power saving activated. Please be careful as to where you buy it from. Amazon do a brand new model for £30 more expensive - not worth the lottery if you ask me.

But I ordered this from iheadphones, knowing they are fulfilled by Amazon incase there were any problems. But there was no need to worry, it is a genuine S5 European model, and I have also had a proper look into it to make sure it was not a fake. Everything is fine with it.
When ordering this phone make sure you check that it is coming from a UK company, not a Hong Kong one, as a lot of them are shipped from Hong Kong, I can only guess that the people who have received the non-European models ordered it from one of these Asian countries without realising it.
Here is a link to a website which will verify if your phone is genuine by entering in the IMEI number.

I have found this a really great phone, good screen, water resistant, speedy cpu, good battery life etc and if you are like me and don't chase the latest tech then this phone is still a great option.
However on the negative side I don't think Samsung could have made the phone construction feel more cheaper, lots of plastic used.
I would still highly recommend this phone.

I would have liked some help with getting the Chinese default language reset into English. Perhaps the seller could put something in the package ? I blundered my way through it and found a small grey drop down menu symbol in the middle of the Chinese, which luckily was the language menu. I then had a Chinese keyboard so by pressing "HK" on the keyboard I got "EN" English.
Someone has alluded to the fact that we may have no guarantee with a ZHU1AN12 model. Have I ?
The seller was very quick sending the phone and used an efficient courier service.
