I bought phone May 2014 and now it turn off ...
I bought phone May 2014 and now it turn off by itself when battery still have 60% of charge. it seems to be a problem with this model.

Get a better version
This is a good entry level model. The screen is good as is the batter life. Where this tab lacks is ram is low which creates a very slow tablet. It is very pronounced in any heavy use case (ie video or games are terrible).

Didn't work and didn't get our $420 back from Amazon - Worthless and not as advertised
As far as I can tell, this phone does not work at all outside of Malaysia. My wife and I tried to get this working with AT&T for a month and switched back to a locked phone on Verizon. We lost our $400 and are extremely dissatisfied with Amazon and AT&T.

Serves a purpose
I needed a cheap, basic tablet for in-car use as a backup navigation screen for road rallies. It does the job, but I had to go in with command line ADB and remove SO MUCH Samsung bloatware to clean it up. Really, I just want barebones AOSP Android on a device, not a manufacturer's bloatware which is redundant, given that Android has its own far superior apps and launcher. For now I have installed the Microsoft launcher, until I can get a recent Pixel-based launcher to work.
The hardware seems good enough, but it's nothing groundbreaking. It does perform better with a lot of the bloatware erased. And these are cheap enough that if they get damaged in the car or stolen, it's not a big loss. A bit too large for my needs, but nobody makes a good 7-inch tablet anymore, so, this works well enough for now.

Good but not perfect
Im only giving 3 stars because the camera does not work.. I reached out to the seller about this with zero response or assistance..I kept it because everything else works well

Best tablet for my kids.
I have two major things to say,
Firstly, this was an Amazon Renewed product. I read all the reviews and nobody really addressed what my worries were. Do I spend $50.00 more and get a brand new one, or take a chance on some remanufactured device?
I am not a picky person but the thought of getting some piece of garbage I was going to have to return really made me pause. Let me put that to rest. It was fine, looked brand new in fact. Obviously it didn't come in the original packaging but the overall "newness" looked like it came right from the factory. It was a birthday gift for a 10 year old and honestly I had to set it up, put family link on it, as well as a case before it was wrapped. Easy choice, go with the Amazon Renewed, it's been great. No regrets.
Secondly, I am far from a tech guy, run apple phones myself. But if you think I am buying a 10 year old an $1100.00 iPad...... you're dreaming. There is just no way. That leaves just a few choices that I was aware of. We ran through the Amazon products and they are fine for younger kids. Their Amazon parent dashboard is fine, again, for smaller kids, the tablet just can't handle more complex things. Getting MineCraft on it was a pain and mostly didn't work. My biggest complaint about Amazon's stuff was how the parental controls basically "mirrored" an account over the top of the operating system. This Tab Lite is a better alternative and a good balance of power, battery life, and control. If you install Google's Family Link, it is seamless! I can control everything, and easily. As much as I like Apple, their "family sharing" profile for parental controls are just awful! The Samsung has enough space, right size, durable, long battery life and everything needed for my kids (9-12). Can't really comment on how it would be for an older teen or adult. Plus, the cases are 10 bucks on Amazon and bullet proof. My older son has had his for 18 months and the original cord and battery are still going strong. Some really small discoloration on the screen where there is heavy finger traffic. In retrospect this could have been avoided if I had installed screen protectors. I'd buy again and spend a little more than the sub $100.00 tablets. Incredible value if you go with Amazon Renewed.

This is the worst phone I ever purchased
This is the worst phone I ever purchased. I did an update to the latest version and now the phone reboots by itself. I have tried contacting Samsung but to no avail. Do not buy this phone! You have been warned!

Got it to replace my Tab S2 8"
Was worried about the resolution compared to that of my S2. Very pleasantly surprised. I read news and watch streaming. More than adequate for both.
