Bought the HS3000 and the Sony Ericsson MW600 at the same time from Amazon. The Sony arrived opened and broken ( clip ), plus the radio would not work, but I had a chance to pair it with a Samsung Galaxy 3 and used some upgraded Sony Earbuds and the sound was very good. ( Almost as good as being wired ) I hated to have to send them back, but I did and Amazaon is replacing them. That left me with the HS3000. I used the same upgraded Sony earbuds with this unit and paired with the Galaxy 3, the sound was also good, but did not equal the Sony till I changed the EQ on the device. There is a mode button that probably has multiple functions, but during music playback and on calls, serves as EQ.Don't know which EQ setting I selected, but it was the 3rd press of the button that gave me the sound I liked. for me.I also used the phone function portion( in a quiet setting, have not used in car yet) and the people on the other end did not know that I was using Bluetooth, and had no complaints about sound. So call quality for me was very good.My biggest concern and maybe why I didn't give 5 stars is the layout of the controls. If I could only take off a half star, and give this a 4 1/2 Star Rating I would do that. All controls are mounted on the side and they are very tiny buttons, except the talk button ( front & slightly larger). The volume control does not have a + - marking, just - - since is considered a multifunction control. You use this for muting the microphone during a call too. It also serves as part of the device reset function, (Volume + Talk Button simultaneously for 4 seconds) Bottom line, you have to listen for tones and volume level to know what these buttons are doing. This is a very small device and the I knew the buttons would be small, but they don't allow for just "touching and feeling" the right button without just doing trial and error, or taking it off your shirt to look at the right button. One positive for this button arrangement, I don't think you have to worry about unintentional volume changes due to moveing the device the way you do with the Sony. Sony uses a touch sensitive slider volume control with no apparent lock feature to disable the bar once you have it set. It seemed like everytime I would touch the unit, the volume would change even if it I wasn't trying to change it.The overall build quality of this unit "feels" a little bit higher than the Sony MW600, but still can't beat the sound of the 600 (IMHO).Can't comment on Battery Life yet, used it off and on all day yesterday and it didn't fail, but I wasn't really timing it either. You can also "charge and use" the device simultaenously. If you are in a car or office, battery life is probably not a factor. There are some other headsets that don't allow you to do that. I also like that it has a cover over the micro usb charging port too.Voice prompts are a nice feature. Gives status of system, like, "Power On, Power Off, Call Terminated, Unit Paired, Connected " and maybe a couple of others. Does not announce incoming caller ID, but does send a generic ringone through the headset. The headphones that came with the unit are ok, but not as good as others you can buy and the sound will improve dramatically if you use your own higher quality earbuds, but again, sound is subjective so many people might perfectly happy with the stock buds. They also come with additional tips for different sized ears canals. The included earbuds are fine for voice calls if that is your primary intended use of this device.I have, or have used, the following devices and I am ranking them in order of my Music Sound Quality preference. Others might chose a different order. ( They are all pretty good for phone calls)1.) Sony Ericson MW600 ( Best Music Performance)2.) Samsung HS30003.) LG HBS 700 ( Ok on phone calls if you remove one earbud to allow your voice to feedback into your ears ,otherwise, you can't hear yourself talk very well due to the tight seal of the earbuds) Great for watching video on an IPAD or Laptop.4) Plantronics Backbeat 903 + Great for phone calls, not so great for music because you can't really get a good seal in your ear, but it works. These are good for use in wet enviroments, used them several times in the swimming pool ( not underwater), and while working out. Dropped them in the swimming pool once, and after they dried out, they were fine.I may update this reveiw after more use, but I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of this device. That's it for now. More later.. (Kudos to Amazon for making returns so easy,(MW600), will review that headset, once I get the replacement.Update....01/21/2013Really like this Headset. Use it almost every day now. Even though the controls are small and sometimes confusing, it is so easy to use great to use in the gym for listening to music.Battery Life is surprisingly good too.Ordered another one for my daughter for Christmas for use with her I-Pod Touch and Iphone.

I have tried several of these Bluetooth clip-on or necklace style dongles (including the Jabra BT3030, Motorola SoundPilot S705, Jabra Clipper, and Bluetrek MusiCALL). All of them make your own headphones or earbuds Bluetooth capable. This works well for listening to podcasts or music while your phone rests comfortably on workout equipment, without the danger of it being pulled off by the headphone cable and go crashing to the floor, or when using your phone for other purposes, such as checking off items in rShopping List.If your phone supports AVRCP (and many do), this device can play/pause, fast forward/rewind, and change the volume of your audio selection. However, as with all of those I have tried, you can only go forward and backward an entire track at a time. This has been true when connected to every Android Phone I have tried (G1, Nexus One, Samsung Galaxy S2). Pushing and holding is supposed to move a little bit within a track, but that never works. Also, if your device supports HFP (most phones do), you can take calls while listening to music. There is a microphone port on the "top" side of the device, next to the headphone jack, for this purpose. This HS3000 connects the quickest, usually only a couple of seconds, of all those I have tried. It has a dedicated slider for powering on and off, which really helps for the quick connect. The others I have tried require you to push and hold a power button for several seconds, which only increases the time it takes to connect to your phone. This is the only dongle I have tried to feature voice prompts. It actually says things like "Ready to pair", "Power off", and "Device connected." The others just give you a sequence of beeps that you must remember what they mean. This makes the HS3000 exceptionally easy to use. When used with a Bluetooth 3.0 capable device, the HS3000 has excellent range and resistance to interference from obstacles, such as my own body. Of those I have tried, this one comes in second, only being beaten by the Sound Pilot S705 -- which is a Bluetooth Class 1 device and is spec'd at 10 times the range (100 meters) of most devices, which are typically Class 2 (10 Meters). I can set my phone down in one room and reception is fine in nearby rooms.Battery life, as with all of those I have tried, is good enough to listen to several (3 - 4) hours of continuous podcasts or music between charges, which take about 45 minutes.*** And now for the bad bitsProbably the worst feature of this dongle are the tiny, incredibly similar buttons sprinkled along both sides of the device. It is almost impossible to tell by feel alone the small differences between the volume buttons and the play-related buttons on the other side. But even looking at the HS3000 itself to figure this out could be made better. The play/pause and forward/backward buttons are designated by tiny symbols indented on them. If these symbols were painted in white (or yellow), they would be much more visible than they are. I usually have to tilt the dongle back and forth until the light glints off it just right in order to see the indentations. This means that quickly pausing whatever you are listening to is usually out of the question. But even if you do manage to find the button quickly, it takes some dexterity to not also squeeze the button on the opposite side of the device simultaneously. And what is the easiest button to press of all? The large dedicated 'Call' button on the front face of the HS3000. Pushing this button quickly answers and hangs-up on phone calls. Pressing and holding initiates a dial-by-voice feature. This is great if you are working in a call center, taking and placing calls all day, but if you are like me, you rarely (if ever) talk voice on the phone and would mostly use this device to listen to podcasts and/or music. That is where this button is a big fail. If the dongle is clipped anywhere other than your shirt pocket, it can be easy to accidentally push (and worse push-and-hold) this button, which throws you into the voice dialing system of your phone. You can't just wait for it to time out, because the microphone might hear something and then start dialing a random number from your contacts. You have to fish out your phone just to cancel the feature you didn't want in the first place. Samsung could fix this by having an option that changes the 'Call' button into the 'Play/Pause' button. Such an option could be automatically initiated when the phone connects without using the Bluetooth HFP profile. (BTW, If you tell your phone to only connect to the HS3000 for Media Audio -- not Phone Audio, then the dedicated 'Call' button does nothing, which at least eliminates the annoying accidental presses).Second worst feature: clip-only. Some of these devices (like the BT3030 and S705) allow you to either clip the device somewhere or wear it around your neck like a necklace. The HS3000 can only be clipped somewhere. If you want to use the built-in microphone to talk on cal

I've been looking at A2DP Bluetooth devices for some time now. I recently hopped back on the health wagon again, and was looking for something I could use while running or riding my bike. Items I was looking at:Motorola S10-HD Bluetooth HeadphonesSony WM600 Bluetooth AdapterJabra Clipper Bluetooth AdapterSamsung HS3000 Bluetooth AdapterI picked up the Motorola S10-HD at Costco due to their flexible return policy. I figured if I didn't like it, I'd just return it. Pairing the device was easy, but I didn't like the interference the wraparound headset caused with my prescription eyeglasses. Audio wise the bass was pleasant, but the treble was weak in clarity, along with some latency when I changed the track or changed the volume (which was to be expected). So I returned the headset and looked at what clip on options on Amazon I could use.I had been eying the Sony WM600 for almost a year, given that it was small and had good reviews, aside from the touch control implementation (which almost all reviewers were very vocal about even if they liked the unit otherwise). Looking at newer options, the Jabra Clipper looked like a good option since it was weather compliant, but I was disassuaded by the multi-use button control. The HS3000 popped up while looking at the Clipper, and after reading the reviews, the one aspect that caught my attention was a glowing review about the APT-X support. I hadn't heard of this, but interested in the (future) opportunity for better audio quality and near zero latency, I took the plunge and gave the HS3000 a shot. At $30, I figured even if I hated it I could still use it as a backup device. I would just have to wait in hopes that some OEM would release a mobile phone that supported APT-X.Got the device, charged it fully, and gave it a spin on my Motorola Droid RAZR. Pairing was quick, but I would expect that from any modern Bluetooth device. Listening to the audio, it was like night and day from the Motorola S10-HD. With crisp audio and robust bass, I felt like I was listening to my headphones directly in the jack. Then I put on a H264 native video on my phone, and I could only detect the most micro amounts of latency (less than a quarter of a second). Wow, I thought, if this is just the normal bluetooth connection, what will APT-X be like? Well, I looked up a supported APTX list online, and turns out the Motorola RAZR is one of the first mobile devices to support this standard. Newer 2012 devices like the Samsung Galaxy SIII and the HTC One series also support this codec.I've been using the device for several days now, and here's my takeaway:Tested with: Motorola Droid RAZR, Sony MDR-V700 monitor headphones, Apple iPhone/iPod Touch earphonesBuild Quality: Inexpensive plastic build - nice texture, but doesn't feel "solid". Not the cheapest I've seen, but probably not a unit you want to drop.Battery Life: Absolutely fantastic.Audio Quality & Paring: Great!Interface: The buttons are very responsive. I've been able to use all buttons by feel, as there are only three on one side, and four on the other. However, even when reading the manual, I had a hard time figuring out how to get a read on the remaining battery level. I think you have to un-pair the connected device in order to get the read out. Everything else has been extreamly straightforward otherwise.Concerns: I'm a little concerned about how well the power switch and USB power port will hold up in the long run. As a result, I'm very gentle with these two items whenever I use them. The bundled headphones are not good. The clip attached fine to my t-shirts, but I didn't like the headphones hitting my neck. I attached the HS3000 to a laynard and it's worked great. My wife can hear me perfectly even with this device resting on my torso and me being a bit of a mumbler (which has always been a problem for Bluetooth devices in the past). In the event I'm active during stormy weather I'm planning on putting the lanyard on the inside of my shirt (away from the elements).Ultimately I would strongly recommend this device on the following grounds:- Very good price (at $30-$35)- APT-X is fantastic if you have the proper support from your device, the bluetooth works fine even if it doesn't (just expect a little latency)- No single multi-button interface since each key has its place- Sounds great on the headphones of your choosing (and choice is king)

I couldn't decide which product was better nor could I find anyone that had compared each of these side by side, so I am attempting to do so now:Setup: Upon purchasing and receiving the two Bluetooth Headset Adapters, I unboxed and charged them fully before testing. I utilized the headsets that came with the units along with a control set of Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10 vi In Ear Monitors. I tested everything with my Apple iPhone 4s (Sprint) using iOS 5.0.1 and my Late 2011 MacBook Pro 15" using OS 10.7.3 (Lion) for the tests. Music comparisons used were Creed - Full Circle, Les Miserables - The Complete Symphonic Recording, Beethoven -The Immortal Collection and Nightwish - Angels Fall First. I also utilized World of Warcraft for gaming on my laptop with these headsets as well playing for at least an hour while questing.Unboxing: It goes without saying (but I'll say it here anyway), that most of these devices have a generic look and feel to them. I mean how much can you do with a Bluetooth Headset adapter? Even so, the packaging was actually very well done on both items. No plastic to cut, no annoying twist ties to get anything out of the box. Just the closed box and tape holding the flap closed. Both the Sony and the Samsung had nice presentation of the device and both were very easy to remove and start using. Both of these devices utilize MicroUSB chargers, so if you have other devices that use those connections, you only need to carry one type of charger to charge all of them.Initial Thoughts: After the unboxing and initial charging of both items, I decided to take a closer look at each item. Here are the lists of my thoughts on each item upon first inspection: Sony: I really like the display on this device. Very bright when needed and then shuts off. No annoying flashing lights or any other attention getting gimmicks. The buttons are nice to the touch and the Play/Pause button is slightly raised to make it easy to hit it. I dislike the push and hold power on button as I prefer the sliding switch, but it wasn't like Sony used the button for anything else, so not a problem. The clip on the MW600 seems a bit weak and seems a bit on the flimsy side, so that might be a problem. BTW, this device has a radio and it does support RDS so it shows the song title, station ID, etc, but this feature is useless for me as I can't stand to listen to commercials so, I don't use the radio. The size of the this device is very nice, but for clipping on my work shirts, this item is a bit thicker than I'd like. The charging port on this device is open... I am not sure that I care to have the connectors open all of the time on this device while wearing this potentially everywhere. I am sure this was done to avoid using dust covers, but I think this would have been a good idea. Samsung: I like the feel of this device in the hands... It feels sturdy without being heavy or bulky. I dislike the single blue/purple/red LED on the front of the device to indicate battery, use, etc as I dislike attention getting flashing lights, but LED is useful as it does indicate the battery level. I really like the power switch on this device. It the perfect tension as to not turn on when you don't want it to and not too stiff as to require too much force to turn it on. I have the Bose Bluetooth headset that I often turn on by accident when putting away, so this switch is a nice change from that headset. Also the Play/Pause button is indented slightly from the other buttons making it easy to find as well. Personally, I think I like the button better on the Sony as my fingers naturally find the extended button easier than the indented one... But I supposed engineers for Samsung were worried someone might accidentally press it if anything stuck out. Only time will tell on that. This device is the larger of the two being roughly twice the width of the Sony device, but it's half as thick. I think this will be better for my work shirts as I can hide most of this device in the shirt. The clip is very nicely done on this device and the charging port has a dust cover.Initial Usage: After turning the devices on and pairing with my phone and computer, here are my thoughts on their usage before I take them out with me on the road. BTW, pairing on each of these devices was very simple and I never had to enter a code anywhere for the devices to work. Incidentally, if you decide to use these devices the pin code for both is 0000 if required by your phone or computer. Oh and both devices worked with Siri on the iPhone. I was pleasantly surprised how well both functioned. Also, both headset adapters came with headphones that have a short cable... This is very nice because it allows for the wearer to have the clip where it can be reached without 4 foot of extra cable hanging about. Sony: I have to say that the display is the nicest feature of this device. It shows when you need pairing and when the device is connected. It

I have had 20+ bluetooth headsets. I know lots of people write this in their review, but it's really true for me. I started back when the first BT headsets came out. First one I owned was a Sony Ericsson BT headset back in 2001 and I've gone through some great ones and horrible ones. Best I ever had was the Plantronics 510 except for looking like a borg from star trek. More recently I had the Blueant Q1 and settled there because I had spent so much on BT headsets. After awhile I gave up on BT headsets completely and went back to a wired headset (Palm Pre headset).Well, I own a Motorola Photon 4G (sprint) phone and my headset jack just went out on me and I didn't want to bring it to the Sprint store so I bought this little nifty device (Samsung HS3000) not thinking it would really help me. I need to use a headset at the gym for music and I'd like to have a good headset for talking on the phone in the car. May I say, this item does NOT disappoint! It is a really awesome device, probably one of the only BT headsets I've ever loved using. Why is that?Things I love about it:* It's sleek and clips on really well* It pairs easily and stays connected whether you are listening to music or on the phone. Nothing worse that when a BT headset loses connection.* The mic is really good quality. Let me emphasize that it is HARD to find a BT device with a good mic. This is quality! I had this little guy clipped onto my belt (MY BELT PEOPLE) and my friend heard me fine on the phone. I've also tried recording myself to see how the mic sounds near my chest, at my hip, farther away to see how it was. There are differences (quieter as it gets farther), but it's clear and you can still hear me. Great noise cancellation. I'm impressed!* So cool to have the ability to talk and listen in stereo when on the phone* Volume is great even with one earphone in my ear when I'm driving. This is what really bugged me about other BT headsets - they aren't always loud enough when you need them to be.* I can use this for skype, google hangout, audacity, etc. Very cool!* Sound is good for listening to music. I'm not an audiophile but it fits the bill for listening to music at the gym.* you can plug in any 3.5mm device - can you say wireless music to any speaker system?* Loved the voice feedback for when it turns on, connects, and turns off.Things I don't like:* The supplied earphones not so great, but eh, no biggie - we didn't buy this for the earphones, we bought it for the device transmitter.* music buttons are a bit smallAnd that's it! I'm really surprised I love it so much for what it is. I thought to myself "Why would anyone need a bluetooth device that is semi-wired? That's not wireless!" But I have to say, I really really do like it. Get one, you won't regret it.

I am finding it hard to give this item an accurate star rating since it does so many things so well.I am pairing this with my Samsung Galaxy Nexus (figured Samsung-to-Samsung would increase chance of compatibility or at least lesson connection issues/etc).I should mention I have never tried listening to anything in stereo using this device as I only use the one ear for podcasts and radio (and phone calls).I paired it for the first time without any issues. And it has stayed paired very consistently since then (I may have had to re-pair it maybe once since then). I usually wear this clipped to the front of my shirt with the headphone cord tucked down my shirt out of the way. I did the same when I went bicycling one day, my phone in my backpack, and in two hours it lost connection perhaps three times. So I started wearing it clipped to the back of my shirt while bike riding and no longer have any issues. It took some experimenting but I turned on the helpful voice assist the thing comes with: a female voice says "power on" followed "devices connected" and "power off". And this works quite well: I turn on the bluetooth in my phone and power on HS3000 and the two will simply connect without any issues or complaints. The range including through walls I have found quite impressive.I have run the battery down a couple times. It starts beeping at you and finally just dies. I wasn't paying enough attention to know how many hours. I would say using a few hours a day not to expect more than two or three days of use. Charging every night isn't a bad idea. The negative and the reason for 3 stars instead of five:The buttons for this are on all three sides. Which means it is difficult to pick it up without pushing at least one of them. If you're not careful you'll end up in voice command mode and end up dialing somebody (and yelling "Hang up! Hang up!!" doesn't work....I happen to know...). So you have to be mindful of picking it up or which surface has any pressure to it what-so-ever. This could have been resolved with a some kind of "key lock" switch or perhaps pushing the phone button in a pattern or in combination with another button. At best this buttons-on-all-sides thing can be dealt with and worked around. At worst it makes the device pretty much unusable. To get around the issue I have started to first pause what I'm listening to then power off the device so I'm not inadvertently sending commands to my phone unbeknownst to me (also turn bluetooth off on the phone). The only other complaint, and it's minor, is the cover for the little USB port on the bottom: it seems incredibly flimsy and fragile. I haven't broken it off yet but I'm resigned to believing it is inevitable. I also have a bit of trouble getting the cable to securely fit all the way into the port.

I purchased this item after a disappointing experience with the LG Tone. I used the Tone for maybe 3 days and I got rid of it. The sound was hollow and it dropped calls way too many times. The most appealing part of the HS3000 was the ability to plug in any headphones I had to the unit. I have a pair of Bose SIE2 Waterproof headphones that has a short cord option that I plug into the Samsung when I'm working out. I clip it to the side of my shirt and I'm good to go in the gym.The sound quality when listening to Pandora or Songza off my phone is awesome. Pandora, Songza or MP3s off the device sound just as good as does as if your headphones were directly plugged into your phone.Call quality is great. Most people don't know that I'm on a Bluetooth device, and neither can you. The person on the other line sounds very crisp and clear. Having a Samsung handset like the Galaxy and Note unlocks other features on the device like talk to text and Samsung's S Voice app.As far as range is concerned, you can be up to 20 feet away without sacrificing sound quality as long as there aren't any walls obstructing the device from the phone. If there is a wall, I've noticed that its roughly 8-10 feet before it starts to crackle. The only downside to this device is that it is sensitive to other people talking in the background and to wind noise....but that goes for most devices of this nature anyway.Very happy with the purchase.

Having a smartphone (Samsung Galaxy Nexus) bounce around in your pocket while exercising quickly became annoying. I wanted to listen to Rdio, my music service of choice, while exercising. My first attempt to quell the bouncing smartphone was to purchase a runners belt Tune Belt Sport Belt for iPhone 4 / 4S and More (Fits iPhone 3GS, 3G; Droid X; HTC ThunderBolt; Samsung Galaxy S and many more). While the runner's belt worked well for running, it did not work for ab and certain strength training exercises. I considered an arm band, but thought a smartphone too large for that. I needed to cut the cord between my Galaxy Nexus and headphones. At first, headphones with a built-in Bluetooth receiver seemed to be the way to go. I couldn't find a pair of Bluetooth headphones that I liked and was reluctant to give up using my current headphones Philips ActionFit SHQ4017/28 Sports Neckband Headset. The Samsung HS300 seemed to be the perfect solution. I was able to keep my existing headphones and leave the phone somewhere else. The HS3000 easily paired with my Galaxy Nexus. The sound quality is just as good as having the headphones plugged directly into the phone. I am able to travel about 40-60 feet away from my phone with walls in between and still hear music clearly. The HS3000 is very light and clips securely onto a pocket, pant line, or sleeve. The battery has lasted me 10 days when using it 1 hour per day to listen to music. The voice prompts are very handy to let you know when the HS3000 is pairing or being powered on or off. The only dislike I have is that there are buttons on every side of the HS3000 except where the clip is. The buttons are also spaced very close together. This might cause accidental or the incorrect button to be pressed. I wish this unit a toggle switch to lock the buttons.Overall, I highly recommend the HS3000, especially if your needs are similar to mine. The price is right and the quality is superb.

I am writing this review while listening to the Samsung HS3000 Stereo Clip on Headsets and my MacBook Pro. The audio is impressive, even with the included short-cable ear buds. Anyone who has tried to use Bluetooth audio on a MacBook knows the frustrations and aggravations of this arrangement. For those who haven't MacBooks are notorious for Bluetooth performance issues. This device uses the ATP-X codec to transfer audio at a higher quality, which is supported by Mac OS X Lion. The improvement over the older SBC of the standard Bluetooth profile is tremendous. I am using the headset while using an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and a Bluetooth Magic Mouse. Audio is perfect with no skips, drops or artifacts. It works better and sounds better than my Motorola S9s, Plantronics 590s, or Plantronics 855s. I like those products quite well but it's not a fair comparison since the tech in the Samsung is newer. Many reviews have commented on the size of the buttons and yes, while they are small, they are also positioned so if you are careful, it is not a problem to use the volume up/down or the play/stop/pause and track advance and rewind features. It's true they could have placed the buttons on the top surface perhaps but industrial design or electrical layout consideration won out.On my recent flight, I streamed audio from this clip to Bose Quiet Comfort 2 headphones and it was perfect. Many folks who travel like noise cancelling headphones but until now it was a corded option only. Now you can use your favorite headphones or ear buds and still get the convenience of wireless streaming audio. The AVRCP features (play/stop/pause/ff/rew/vol) work perfectly with my iPhone, iPad and MacBook. I'm really not an Apple bigot, it works with my Windows 7 machine as well. Only the MacBook as the ATP-X codec but the audio sounds good and performs well on the other devices.I would recommend this to anyone who wants Bluetooth and has despaired of getting decent wireless audio (especially from a MacBook).Pros* Use your favorite earbuds/headphones* Battery life is as advertised* Phenomenal audio with OS X Lion (APT-X compatible) Macs* Remote functions work as advertised* Phone functionality is not as good as best-in-class phone-only devices but adequate* Inexpensive for functionalityCons* Small buttons take some getting use to - forget it if you have tater-tot fingers* APT-X support is not universal on all devices so if you're a diehard, you'll still need to buy a stand-alone APT-X adapter. It still works with standard SBC in Bluetooth A2DP so you haven't lost anything.

I love this bluetooth headset! It pairs perfectly with my Sony Xperia phone and I use it with Sony headphones with retractable cord Sony MDR-Q68LW Clip-on Style Headphone with Retractable Cord -- perfect together.I'm very happy that the charger connector uses micro-usb which means that I can use my cellphone's charger for this unit. Charging time is about 1 1/2 hours. The battery lasts about 8 hours of continuous use which is quite good because I listen to a lot of music and also use it for phone calls. Stand-by time is very good too.The microphone on this unit is excellent. People I spoke with say that I come in very clear even when I'm at a fairly noisy mall. The size of the unit is about the same size of a thumb drive. There's a sturdy clip for use on your shirt. There's a tiny led light on the front of the unit which flashes to tell you that it's on. There's also voice prompts to tell you when the unit is turned on, ready for pairing, etc. Paring it with a Sony and Nokia cellphone was a breeze! The manual says that you can have this headset connected to 3 cellphones or devices simultaneously! So cool!I was also considering a Sony bluetooth headset (with radio) but after reading the reviews for that unit I learned that it has a power button defect. I also tried out the Motorola S10 HD headset but that was returned because the sound was horrible. All treble and no bass! It did not fit properly too. It was way too tight and gave me headache.I'm very happy with this purchase. This unit is perfect for people that want to use stereo bluetooth together with their favorite headphones that have a 3.5mm jack. Highly recommended!

UPDATE (08.02.2012): Have now been running and biking with this device and it has exceeded my expectations. No loss of signal and no significant drain on battery, in either activity. Paired with the HTC Evo 4G LTE and Google Music Player, I feel I have a perfect solution for listening to music and taking/making phone calls while out and about (running / biking / hiking / gym / car).******Quite simply, awesome. I gave away my ipod shuffle, and wanted to use my HTC Evo 4g LTE as my music player for running, the gym, hiking, and biking. And I did not want those bulky bluetooth headphones. So I took a chance and ordered the Samsung HS3000.I received it today, and after only 10 minutes of use, I can recommend 5 stars. Why, because it paired within seconds, and then simply worked as designed. In close proximity, no loss of music. I then put it on the kitchen counter and walked around the house to find its limits. We have a two story house and it worked in most of the house. The farthest rooms got choppy but that was expected.I would give a -10 stars for the headphones because they are clumsy in the ears, and have about 6 inches of wire (why Samsung, why would you do that?) All is good though because I will use my $10 Sony headphones. So I believe I found the perfect solution to use my Android phone, and perfectly utilize Bluetooth music. If I experience any problems while running or biking, I will give an update. But one cool thing I thought about, I can leave my phone in my bag at the gym and listen to music, youtube, SprintTV, etc, and respond to calls. Much more capability than my ipod shuffle could ever do.

Ужасно

I purchased this so i could use my klipsch s4's wirelessly... the headset managed to turn on and work after the first charge, however every time for my week of ownership the headset would alternate between showing a full charge but not charging or showing that it needs to charge and still not turning on. The buttons are tiny and impossible to differentiate by feel, the sound isnt at all as good as I was expecting given the apt-x capabilities. I think this may have been an AVERAGE buy if it managed too work, but even when writing the manual samsung knew they had a problem with the headset charging, in the troubleshooting section it mentions unplugging and replugging the device if it doesnt charge (which doesnt work). Needless to say, slowly but surely samsung is turning me away from their products as a whole... with the ugly s3 and notes to the poor build quality on this headset... which is a shame because up till the last year or so I had a great opinion of samsung after having owned several of their phones, tvs, monitors, hard drives etc... all in all, I would recommend passing on this headset and just paying more for a better item.

This is everything I hoped for and the sound quality is superb. If you want to listen to the radio, or walk around your room while listening to a movie on your iPad, which is what I primarily do with this, this is excellent. The microphone quality is great, and the range is very adequate. The one complaint I would have is that it's hard to know what is the volume up and down buttons, and I always have to look at it and think about it before I push buttons. You can't just start pushing buttons without looking like you can with your iphone volume buttons. I'd get it again for sure.

Overall good product. Was surprised by how good the sound reproduction is.. Only negative is battery life, which could be better.Update...After using this product now for about a month, I am still pleased by the good sound reproduction. Besides the battery life, one more thing that could be improved is the volume. I am guessing the limitations to this may be the device power output. I had to connect a FiiO E5 amp to the bluetooth device for a power boost, which increases the volume. But adding the amp forces me to clip another small device to my clothing, in addition to the bluetooth device. Hopefully the power output and battery life can be increased on future production of this device.

So I had bought this to go along with my GNEX in the car, I wanted something that could charge while playing, change tracks and handle multiple operations.Pros:Keys are well defined and work as advertisedMultiple sound "EQ" can change tone bass etcPairs without an issue and haven't had to repair sinceCallers can hear me clearly and No destortion on my endCons:Volume is very low even on maxOn / Off seems to have three clicks to turn from on to off (when sliding the button to the off position it will click twice before actually going off.Charge time is a bit longer than the sony alternativeOveralll the device works as advertised but needs to be significantly louder, even in headphones it seems very low, when going to the input in my car my stereo is maxed and its still very low.

I am sooo picky... left it in the box because I read here the sound sucked. There is one, and only one, genuine problem with this device, if you are using it as I do to watch movies or television on your tablet, there is about a one second lag from what you are seeing to what you hear.DON'T BUY IF YOU ARE USING TO GET AUDIO PORTION OF VIDEO, you will think you are watching a badly dubbed Bruce Lee movie.HOWEVER, I even though bought it for that (listening to movies/tv) sole purpose ....and was plenty pissed at the delay... before stomping on it and chucking it in the trash I found out it has incredible audio capabilities.Music lovers, this thing is second to none. No one will ever be sorry they bought one, but people like me will need some time to understand the best application.MUSIC ONLY.

I have hearing problems and as a result I need a lot of volume for the TV or computer. It was driving my family crazy. So I bought transvers for my TVs and the PC and I use this headset with them. This way I can turn down or mute the main speakers and I can still hear. The sound is very good. The only trouble I had was that the direction were not very clear and I had some trouble getting it to pair. But once it did pair, it reconnects very well. It nice to be able to get up and move around without having to deal with a cord. I do wish the range was a little better but that could be caused by the transmitter too.

The headphone jack on my Samsung Galaxy S II stopped working. I tried other headphones, even the OEM ones. A factory reset on the phone didn't fix it either. Audio was either use the built-in speaker or nothing. But by using this device with my preferred headphones, I'm back with my music, podcasts, hands-free phone operation, etc. I had the unit paired with my phone and music in my ears within a minute of opening the box. Very easy to setup especially with the voice prompts that walk you through the process. Great sound quality as well.

I can not be more happy with this product, it works flawlessly and quality is great!Item comes with decent pair of headphones which are great length, not too long or short.Pros: - setting up and pairing is a breeze, no issues at all - totally love the voice prompts which tells you when product is turned on/off and connected/paired. small feature, but really useful and allows you to not have to look down at it - microphone is excellent, I didn't get any complaints from callers when using it - battery life is great. I mainly use this for going to gym and calls when out, so not high use cases - love the SLIDE on/off, so much easier than having to push and wait. and I never accidentally push it.Con/areas of improvement: - buttons on sides are a little small, but usable - really could care less with the button to change equalizer setting, it could have been left out and made volume buttons bigger - the Call button is pretty useless, it could have been made smaller and other buttons like volume up/down put in its place - indicator light for battery level, I like the idea, but I wish they made it indicate when you turn on the phone rather than having to hold down buttonsI would totally recommend this product !!!

I purchased this instead of buying bluetooth headphones for my iPhone. For the most part it works very well. However the headphones you get with it are very poor. I kind of had hopes that my skullcandys mic 3 controls would work through this device but the controls on the headphones are useless with this device. If they could make those work I would have given it 5 stars. Over all I think its the best way to go for bluetooth headphones that I have come across so far.

Good volume, decent battery life, easy to use. The controls were unreadable, but they're little depressions, so I just filled them with a little white-out and all OK now.Only real downside is the battery warning beeps about 5 minutes before you lose power. I'd prefer a little more warning.
