Great lightweight pump
This pump is lightweight but really strong. Tested the first time on my ambulance which required 70 psi. You need to understand that the pump had been sitting in my trunk with a battery that had been used already. Only made it to 60 and the battery died. Tried at home today. Powerful enough on one battery to air up 8 tires. I pumped up 4 tires to 45 psi on my car. Then aired up 4 tires on my wife's car to 36 psi. I did this just bringing them up to pressure. Not from zero pressure. But still had battery power left. The pump had been in my car for a couple weeks unused with the battery attached. It hasn't really been put to the test on other tires that required long run times.

It works well
With this device, you no longer have to swap between an inflation hose and a pressure gauge when inflating car tires. Just connect it, set the pressure you want, turn it on and walk away. It will inflate the tire to a correct pressure and stop. I carry it in the trunk. Very convenient.

Great Inflator with a Catch
This little inflator is great even though I burned it up. I have had it for several months and use it to pump up my truck Tires (40 PSI) and my camper tires (65 PSI) I love the auto shut off feature but that is part of why I burned it up. I had topped off the truck tires and two camper tires and checked the spare. It was very low at about 40 PSI. So I set it at 65 PSI and walked off. I was using either a 4 or 6 amp hour battery and when I came back to check it a few minutes later it was smoking a little. I stopped it and let it cool off, replaced the battery (original battery down to 1 tick) a couple of times and finished inflating the spare and topped off the other two RV tires. I cautiously used it several more times to fill both truck and trailer tires, giving it time to rest and using several batteries. The odd thing was that the pressure went from PSI gauge to absolute PSI. That is it was off by 14.5 PSI. Open to the air it was reading 14.5 PSI and I had to add 14.5 to the set pressure.
This week, before going on vacation, I had a camper tire that was down by 20 PSI and started filling it. AC power is not available where it is stored so battery power is required. I stopped it to cool off, since I knew it was damaged, and then started it again and got busy prepping the camper and didn't remember the compressor was still running until it started screaming and black smoke was coming out of the vents.
I have given this inflator 4 stars because it is great for the task of inflating tires. I don't think Ryobi tested enough. By using the larger batteries, the battery had no problem keeping the compressor running. It is not really made to run continuously for more than 4 or 5 minutes, especially pumping up to 65 PSI. Also, I believe the dropping voltage in the battery led to the motor running too slowly to cool properly.
Ryobi needs to add some warnings in the manual to not let the battery run down too low and not to run it continuously for more than 3 or 4 minutes. Maybe increase the price a little and add an over heat sensor and a timer. I would recommend this inflator but don't run it too long or run the battery down too low.

Love this thing, works better than expected!
Easy to use, powerful, can easily top off 8 car tires on a single battery charge. Quiet, compact, backlit, and does floats and air mattresses, too. 150psi is plenty for your average use. The ONLY thing that would make this better is to add ability for A/C also like the Ryobi fan.

Pretty good
Overall, it's pretty convenient. Much easier than using an air tank, compressor or plug in to inflate tires around the house. I like the slim form factor, but the top controls on the older model were better. An even better feature would be to have one with a DC adapter so you could just put it in your car and use it on the road, without worrying about keeping the ryobi battery charged. If you had that feature, also having a higher end model with a battery that could jumpstart your car would seem like a natural choice for the market place.

works as advertised
A bit of an odd way to set the max pump pressure. However it works well. I used a 3/4 full 4 AH battery to add air to 4 tires from an average of 33-35 pounds to 44 psi for each tire. The battery was on 1 bar when done and needed a re charge. Much better option than the cheap pistol grip hand held version ryobi offers and i have both!

Regretfully I cannot recommend
I am a big Ryobi user and have several of their tools and items with the one size battery for all. This tire pump only works for about 5 minutes then the battery gets over heated and it shuts down. It is rated for 100+ PSI. I am trying to inflate an RV tire from 92psi to 102psi and it quits running before it hits 100psi. ergh. I have spare battery packs and have to switch out after 5 min every time. Same on SUV tire to inflate from 30psi to 36psi I can get one tire done then half of another before it stops working. ergh. I have had zero issues with any Ryobi product with exception of this one.

Very user-friendly and accurate
After looking at many inflators, I settled on this one by Ryobi. My father had one, and is very happy with it. I just got mine last week and it works great. The small pumps that plug into cigarette lighters kept blowing fuses in my vehicle. Not sure why, but a 10 Amp fuse was not strong enough.
This one allows you to charge the battery and have it ready for whenever you need it. I use it to pump up bike tires, and that gets done in about 6 seconds. Amazing.

Great for inflating tires
I had the smaller, pistol-grip version. I fought with it over and over, especially attempting to remove the battery after use. This machine is larger, but has the capability of inflating and deflating pool toys, air mattresses, etc. And the preset psi works wonderfully well. Haven't has a chance to try the inflate/deflate, but look forward to that this summer as our pool water heats up.

Great for camping with large inflatables
I bought an Intex 300 series raft to play with on the lake. Then bought this to inflate it while up there. It was perfect for the job. I used 4ah battery - I could have gotten three or 4 fills from it. Inflation and deflation were easy, I have not used the high pressure side, I have the handheld version for bike tires etc. BTW the Intex raft is perfect for kids on a lake, if you don't really care what direction you are going in.

So convenient and easy!
I have an air compressor, but it's tiny and takes forever to fill the big tires on my truck. And you have to sit there and hold the air chuck on the valve stem, and wait, and check inflation . . . it's a huge pain.
This thing is so worth the money. Screw it on the valve, set the pressure, and walk away. Especially nice for checking air in the spare, under the truck, where I'd otherwise have to lay on my back in the driveway until the job was done. If you already have investment in Ryobi batteries, this is absolutely worth the money.

Second time we used it it sounded like it was going to grenade, would not inflate tire properly.
We bought this unit in June to carry in our RZR in order to repair flats while on our 2 month summer trip for off road adventuring. We used it once to air up a low tire on the RZR just before we left in late July and it seemed to work properly. Then we had a flat on the RZR while on our trip, tried to use it and it wouldn't inflate the repaired tire, it sounded like it was going to grenade. We returned from our trip, went on Amazon to request a replacement but it says we are past the return timeline. Sent the seller a message requesting replacement, hopefully they will do it as it is defective. Plan on contacting Amazon customer service as well. No contact info listed for the seller to allow us to contact them, just an option to send a message thru Azmazon!

Why didn't i buy this earlier
i have bike pumps and the Ryobi inflator for car tires. i am not thinking about throwing them all ways.
this thing is awesome. you set your pressure, hit go, and can walk away. i have used it for bike tires, car tires, kids inflatables, balls and it is awesome.

Love it!
I have many Ryobi products, but this is my favorite. I like how easy it is to use. The best feature is it's automatic, you don't have to sit there and hold the trigger the whole time.

Works Very Well - Easy To Use
This is a handy little compressor for topping off tires or other occasional use. It’s super easy to use and is small and light. My only caution is it a little loud, but that’s the case with all these light weight portable compressors.

Great for deflating pool floats at the end of the season
works great for all intended purposes...
not sure if Home Depot is no longer selling these but they are out of stock at their stores and as of writing this you cannot ship to home from their website for this product. So I paid a little more than the HD price (14 bucks i think). Worth it to keep my batteries in the same ecosystem and to not have to wait for HD to get them back in stock again.

Over-hyped
I was told this would blow up a king size mattress and 30 seconds..
It won't... I have two six foot gorilla balloons... takes a long time and you have to shut it off every 5 minutes... didn't know that... also very loud

Great for day trips
Works good for tires or inflatables. Not sure why Amazon reviews ask about it's thickness. It's very compact and powerful.
