We already use RØDE Procaster Broadcast Dynamic Microphone as our main Podcast mics for the three main hosts. We wanted something less expensive and just as good for Guests. The PodMic proved to be an excellent choice for arraching to a desktop mount or to a articulating arm. Greate versitile solution for pocasters.

Noticable difference when I used it next to a Rode NT1-A (which costs a bit more as well) . Of course, the other NT1-A is a condenser and so it picks up more nuance than this one.
However, this is a solidly built and very practical/versatile piece of kit that I'd have no hesitation in using. Shame they didn't throw in a little bag, but I have it screwed into a Samson desk stand in any case. It looks the part too for video or podcasting.

With the virus, I have had to do a lot of my radio work from home. The quality of this microphone means my show sounds like I am in the studio (save for the sounds of birds screeching outside the window or the washing machine going into spin cycle).

I bought the RODE Podmic to record voiceovers for video tutorials and podcasts. Out of the box you can tell it's really good quality as it feels really well made, looks great, and is heavy (you could do some serious damage with this thing!)
I'm attaching it to a Rodecaster via XLR, which is a breeze to setup (helped by the fact that the Rodecaster has a custom setting for the Podmic). One thing to note - you need a decent pre-amp because of the gain this mic needs, so if you don't have that then consider buying a Cloudlifter cl-1.
Apparently there's a pop shield and shockmount built in (meaning that if you do want to fit something externally it's a bit more tricky to find something that matches) and you can definitely tell. Although not perfect, the usual knocks and pops are definitely dulled if not filtered out.
Comparing this to a Shure SM7B, you can definitely tell the difference, but you'd expect that to be the case given the Shure is over 3x the price.
Overall I'd say this is a fantastic buy and great value for money.

The mic sounds great, however, I have one issue.
( EDIT: there are little plastic covers on the brass bits)
Firstly being a dynamic mic you will need a good preamp or an inline preamp (like a get fethead).
So I have had to spend almost double what the mic costs to get it to where the noise floor is to a higher standard. However, this doesn't mean you need to do the same as me, if you're not using it for professional uses then the mic should work fine with a cheap interface.

Best mic I’ve used within its price range. Couldn’t fault it at the moment, and managed to get it on a good deal at the time. Surprisingly Amazon was cheapest at the time.
Great for recording podcasts, clear as day. Didn’t expect it to be as good, then again it is Rode so didn’t expect anything less.

Excellent quality heavier than I thought but seems well made. Other people with more experience of high end mics rate this well I have only a cheap mic to compare to but would say for this price fantastic for voice overs, not used for other purposes but is great.

This is a great microphone for recording podcasts and any kind of music you plan to do. It definitely helps if your planning to buy some further attachments like the clip on pop filters or a stand set.
If your scrolling through amazon, and don't want to spend a bomb on a microphone or audio interface bundles, then give this microphone a shot. It's a great buy for the price, and as a qualified IT Technician, I can tell you spec wise, it's bang on for the price.

I am a streamer and I was looking to upgrade from a USB mic to an XLR mic and the Podmic was exactly my price range. However you do have to pair it with some form of audio interface so be aware of that. It works great with the GO XLR mini. 10/10 worth the money, great option if you're looking for good audio quality while not spending hundreds.

The Rode PodMic is amazing, clear, crisp audio and excellent value compared to other high end expensive dynamic microphones. I have received so many compliments from friends when i use this in discord and even strangers in games when i use it for voice chat. This thing is also built like a tank, top notch build quality.

Ich benutze das Mikrofon für Youtube-Videos und bin absolut überzeugt!
Qualität/Verarbeitung:
Ich kenne für den Preis kein Mikrofon, welches besser verarbeitet ist und hochwertiger wirkt. Das Mikrofon macht einen sehr stabilen Eindruck und ist mit über 800g auch sehr schwer. Entsprechend braucht man auch einen guten Mikrofon-Arm. Ich benutze dafür den "Rode PSA1 Gelenkarm". Dieser ist für ein Gewicht zwischen 700g und 1100g ausgelegt. Bei einem sehr günstigen Arm (~25€) ist der Kopf einfach immer nach unten gerutscht.
Sound/Stimme (incl. FetHead):
Ich habe mir das Mikrofon zusammen mit dem "Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen Audio Interface" gekauft und war am Anfang sehr ernüchtert. Selbst bei 100% Leistung war das Mikrofon leise, wenn man nicht direkt reinsprechen möchte. Ich präferiere eher 10 - 15cm Abstand.
Also habe ich mir einen FetHead zur Verstärkung gekauft und nun hört sich das Mikrophone fantastisch an. Das Scarlett steht übrigens jetzt nur noch bei 50-60% und es gibt Null Rauschen.
Meine Stimme ist klar und verständlich. Trotzdem finde ich die Stimme erstaunlich angenehm und auch ein bisschen warm im Vergleich zu anderen Mikrofonen seiner Art. Das ist auch der große Vorteil. Ich wohne an einer viel befahrenen Straße mit Geräuschen und auf der Aufnahme ist davon überhaupt nichts zu hören.
Kosten:
Rode Podmic ist mit 110€ sehr günstig. Allerdings sollte man auch bedenken, dass man ein Interface, ein guten Gelenkarm, ein XLR-Kabel und meiner Meinung nach auch ein FetHead benötigt, wenn man nicht 500€+ für ein Interface ausgeben möchte.

Fazit:

I'm a professional voice over talent, radio host and podcaster. We own, and have owned, dozens of different mics for various projects. For podcasting, and dare I say, even for on air at a radio station, this mic is leaps and bounds ahead of anything else we've used! It's solid in build quality, the built in pop filter is absolutely impressive, and it even absorbs vibrations from hands hitting the table, typing on a keyboard etc. The on air "presence" of my podcast hosts who have used the PodMic is noticeably superior compared to the mics were were using, which sell for almost the same $130 CDN as these do. Absolutely impressive!

It is not a doorbuster for an SM7B by Shure but is an upgrade over similar priced mics like The Audio Technica AT2020
The mount it comes with is permanent the threads are fixed to the mic body itself, seems to hold up well as a shock mount but I would prefer if I could use one of my nicer third party shockmounts.
I would suggest a foam windscreen for it. The mesh is course and may snag a beard the plosives without a pop filter are ok, but not fantastic. I am using one from an Apex 540 which works great but am unable to find spare replacements of it unfortunately.

Die hängt aber davon ab, wie weit sich das Mic von einem selber befindet. In meinen Fall sollte man nicht weiter als 15cm von dem Mic entfernt sein.
Aber selbst wenn man sich in den 15cm befindet, ist das Mic viel zu leise. So dass ich selber 3 Programme benutze um die Lautstärke zu verbessern. Einmal in den Windows Soundeinstellungen selber ( lautstärke:100 + Mic Boost :30db) dazu noch in meinen Realtek einstellungen einen 30db boost sowie in dem Programm Voicemeeter einen kleinen Boost von wenigen db.
Wer auf der suche ist nach einen Mic, welches nur für eien sehr eingeschränkten Gebrauch genutzt werden kann, sollte es sich zulegen.
Welcher aber nach einfach gutem Sound für Stream und Discord oder TS sucht, sollte sich nach einen anderen Mic umsehen.

Mic quality aside, which it certainly is... I think That what the sellers are doing Right now (i.e. raising prices incrementally every time stock sells out) is pure robbery. I literally paid just over $150 on Prime for My first PodMic, but each time they sell out this week, I’ve checked on stock, and noticed non-prime sellers have kept raising overall price, which is now hitting over $230 and even more for expedited shipping because the sellers are not selling through Prime. Yep, I can buy it at a local photo/audio shop for $132 right now + about $15 or so in HST. WHICH IS THE ACTUAL RETAIL OF THIS MICROPHONE. I had to CAPS that to stress how disgusting this kind of “charge based on demand” must feel to those who are trying to build their first podcast kit on a budget, and find themselves having to pay nearly as much for a PodMic, as the more premium Rode NT1. Sad...

Je ne suis pas du tout un pro, je suis quelqu'un qui aime juste la bonne qualité et je fais attention a ce que j'achète et je recherche BEAUCOUP avant d'acheter pour ne pas me tromper.
Résumé :
Les points positifs :
Lourd, besoin d'un bon bras ou un pied de table
Son clair, précis et naturel. Pas étouffé ou trop aigue.
Besoin d'une interface/pre-amp pour le brancher et mettre le gain haut ou besoin d'un cloud filter.
Design au top
Les points négatifs:
C'est dur d'en trouver... Je dirais que le soucis c'est qu'il faut être proche et en face sinon on entend plus grand chose donc si vous voulez vous câler au fond de votre fauteuil en ésperant que les gens vont encore vous entendre bien sur discord, partez vers le MXL 770. Vous pouvez toujours tout mettre à fond sans réduction de gains sur les logiciels mais avec ça vient le problème d'entendre tout (bruit de la souris ou du clavier par exemple)
Je n'ai pas eu beaucoup de micro, un USB : Auna 900b qui m'a servi longtemps et fonctionne très bien, le MXL 770 qui est très bon aussi mais en XLR et ce fameux Podmic...(en XLR aussi)
Ce Rode podmic est lourd, très lourd (900g) il va falloir un bon bras pour le tenir ou bien sérrer les visses ou alors un pied de table (J'ai le rode DS1) qui est parfait pour moi.
C'est un micro fait pour les podcasts avec un pop filter intégré mais on entend quand même les plosives ( les P et les B comme "papa" ou "babar" qui envoient de l'air) d'ou l'utilité de rajoutr un pop filter ou bonnette pour réduire ça.
Il va falloir une interface/pre-amp vu que c'est du XLR et ce micro a besoin de puissance (J'ai le gain presque au maximum sur mon pre-amp) mais pas besoin de phantom power (48V). Il est aussi possible d'acheter un cloud filter mais c'est dans les 100€ donc un investissement en plus.
Il est "directionnelle" donc il va falloir parler bien en face ou le mettre de côté mais visé vers votre bouche et être proche sinon le son réduis vite et l'avantage c'est qu'il capte moins les sons ambiants comparé au MXL 770 par exemple.
Le son est clair et précis il est parfait pour ma voix. J'ai souvent eu des compliments "Ton micro est tellement bien" "Le son de ton micro est incroyable" et du coup des questions sur la marque du micro, c'est une fierté héhé !
Rode a réussi à faire un micro de haute qualité pour un petit prix. Beaucoup de streamer utilise le légendaire Shure SB7B mais personnellement je trouve le son trop étouffé et je préfères la clarté du podmic pour un prix bien plus abordable (Le shure est a 400/500€)
Pensez a télécharger "voicemeeter" pour avoir plus d'option et augmenter le gain si nécessaire.
Conclusion: Je suis parfaitement satisfait de ce micro, c'est mon micro, ça colle parfaitement pour ma voix !

Hallo,
das Rode Podmic ist ein Hammermikro soviel zum Anfang.
Da das Negative nur minimal ist will ich damit anfangen.
negativ:
- Gewicht: für die Größe ist es echt schwer, dadurch kann ich leider meinen Schwanenhals nicht dran machen da das Mikro diesen runterzieht
- Lautstärke: es ist verdammt leise, wenn man keinen Vorverstärker hat, darum darauf achten, einen dazu kaufen
- Rauschen: ich habe ohne Vorverstärker ein massives rauschen drin, mit geht es. Habe nun einen Filter in meinem Programm hinterlegt und damit geht es ohne rauschen
Positiv:
- Gewicht: klingt jetzt komisch aber das Gewicht strahlt eine Wertigkeit aus die extrem ist, so massig und robust
- Größe: es ist einfach verdammt klein, habe als Vergleich das Blue Yeti und im Vergleich ist das Podmic einfach winzig
- Klang: wenn es einmal eingestellt ist dann hat es einen unglaublich guten Klang
- Halterung: das Mikro ist nahezu Geräuschlos zu bewegen, man kann es auch ein wenig drehen und das alles ohne Geräusche
Alles im allem finde ich dass es ein sehr gutes Mikro in einem moderaten Preisrahmen ist.
Wer ein Mikro für Podcast, Stream oder Video sucht hat auf jeden Fall eins hier gefunden.

- Lautstärke: es ist verdammt leise, wenn man keinen Vorverstärker hat, darum darauf achten, einen dazu kaufen
- Rauschen: ich habe ohne Vorverstärker ein massives rauschen drin, mit geht es. Habe nun einen Filter in meinem Programm hinterlegt und damit geht es ohne rauschen
Positiv:
- Gewicht: klingt jetzt komisch aber das Gewicht strahlt eine Wertigkeit aus die extrem ist, so massig und robust
- Größe: es ist einfach verdammt klein, habe als Vergleich das Blue Yeti und im Vergleich ist das Podmic einfach winzig
- Klang: wenn es einmal eingestellt ist dann hat es einen unglaublich guten Klang
- Halterung: das Mikro ist nahezu Geräuschlos zu bewegen, man kann es auch ein wenig drehen und das alles ohne Geräusche
Alles im allem finde ich dass es ein sehr gutes Mikro in einem moderaten Preisrahmen ist.
Wer ein Mikro für Podcast, Stream oder Video sucht hat auf jeden Fall eins hier gefunden.

RODE is one of the best in microphones technology but the problem is the price. It is sold for around 100$ USD and double in Canada. Couldn't wait for the price to drop because it's a must have item.
The Amazon delivery was super fast and came in before the delivery date.
Worth the money spent and sounds awesome with the help of the all ready setup preset of my RODEcaster Pro.

Was expecting a lot more from this, given RODE's reputation. But severely disappointed, and went back to my Samson Q2U.
This mic needs a LOT of gain, so you're going to have to buy either a Fethead or Cloudlifter, so that's another $150 or so on top. Harsh sound, especially on the top end, removes warmth from your voice, and not in a good way.

Benutze das Mic für Voice-Overs, Mitschnitte und mittlerweile auch ausschließlich zum Chat. Verarbeitung ist no Plastics Studioniveau. Integrierter Pop- und Shock-Schutz reichen für meine Zwecke bereits vollkommen. Wer ein ordentliches Audiointerface hat, bekommt mit den richtigen Einstellungen auch den Klang auf ein sehr amtliches Level. Wer es ganz genau wissen will, findet auf YouTube ausreichend Tests. Bedenkt, dass Ihr eine gute Halterung benötigt: So ein windiges 20 Gerippe hält das Mic nicht so dolle.... Cheers!

Für den Preis ein wirklich tippi toppi Mikrofon. Die Bauqualität ist Rode-like wirklich sehr gut. Zudem sieht es sehr gut aus. Auch die Aufhängung - inspiriert vom Shure SM7B - finde ich äußerst praktisch.
Der Ton ist gut. Es filtert nicht ganz so viele Raumgeräusche raus und ist nicht ganz so "radiostimmenmäßig" wie das Rode Procaster. Das setzt hier einfach noch einen drauf, ist aber auch wesentlich größer. Wenn als also um den direkten Sound geht, würde ich eher zum Procaster mit einer Spinne raten.
Was den internen Poppfilter angeht, scheint Rode leider noch immer eine ganz eigene Vorstellung zu haben. Ich halte das Podmic und auch das Procaster ohne Poppfilter für unbenutzbar. Zumindest wenn man sie <10cm bespricht. Der interne Filter beim Podmic scheint etwas besser zu sein, aber man sollte trotzdem einen Schutz benutzen. Warum Rode nicht den passenden Rode WS2 - der in der Herstellung vermutlich nur wenige Euro kostet - nicht dabei legt, ist mir leider ein Rätsel.
Also, Podmic auf jeden Fall mit dem Rode WS2 kaufen. Ich nutze übrigens (zwei) Rode PSA1 Arme, welche sich auch für der Podmic perfekt eigenen. Außerdem nutze ich ein Behringer UMC202HD, welches bei 100 % auch ganz gut mit dem Podmic funktioniert, trotzdem nutz ich hier den Fethead. Am Zoom H5 Recorder ist der Fethead pflicht.
Alles in allem ist das Podmic Preis-/Leistungsmäßig wirklich gut. Besonders Stimmen sind sehr verständlich, auch wenn nicht 100% Broadcast. Man muss sich aber auch ein wenig mit dem Drumrum beschäftigen und ein Audiogerät mit vernünftig Gain und/oder nen Verstärker benutzen.

Yo no soy un experto en microfonos, por eso me informe bastante a la hora de comprarlo, y he de decir que no me arrepiento. Yo lo compre por 75 euros de un cliente que lo habia devuelto a Amazon y he de decir que fue un chollo impresionante. Lo utilizo junto a la interfaz de sonido Berhinger UMC22 y la combinación es excelwnte para alguien que esta empezando y no quiere dejarse mucho dinero en el sonido pero obtener una calidad impresionante. Nada que ver con micrófonos USB.
A mi en particular me preocupaba la cantidad de sonido que recogiese del ambienta ya que grabo videos en una habitacioncon bastante ruido (el cuarto de la lavadora literalmente, es el unico espacio que tengo) y he de decir que estoy encantado con la decisión de comprar un microfono dinamico y no de condensador y ademas hipercardioide lo que significa que tienes que hablar directamente al microfono y no recoge apenas ruido de las demás cosas.

OK so its Rode, overall quality for price is great as to be expected with any Rode product IMO.
Broadcasting mics depend on the user, I stream on Twitch and went from a Blue Yeti to The PodMic.
Everyone including myself says it sounds super crisp, clear and smooth.
*PLEASE NOTE: You (essentially) need to have a channel strip or preamp with a HIGH GAIN OUTPUT. My Presonus StudioLive AR16 has +50db of gain but it waant enough. I has to drive my pre to 100% to even get the volume close to where it needed to be in OBS. I personally purchased a "Cloudlifter", problem solved +25db of gain via Phamtom Power/Cloudlifter. You could always use a fethead as well.
Bottom line for this price you can't beat it. As great as the Shure SM7B is there is quite a big difference in price between the two.
If you're thinking about getting one of those maybe try this first. I love it! It's built like a tank!

Un sogno per podcasters a livello professionale, si affianca bene al 4 volte più costoso sm 57 della shure (top di gamma per fare podcast), è un microfono nuovo, sarà solo questione di tempo prima di vederlo diventare uno standard nel campo. Prendete a mani basse, se uso "casalingo" informatevi bene: non darà il massimo senza un preamp decente (mettete in conto 150-200 per un entry level)

très bon micro de RODE il est lourd les massif la qualité des matériaux sont présents il look énormément également le seul petit bémol c'est que pour tirer les le son que je voulais tirer de ce micro j'ai dû changer de table de mixage et jouer beaucoup avec l'EQ et le compresseur pour tirer le meilleur son

Très bon micro une qualité folle pour le prix.
Seulement attention il est lourd et donc peut-être pas compatible avec certains bras , je possède avec le rode psa1 et les deux sont très bon ensemble.

Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. Ha necessità di molto gain per dare il meglio, quindi consiglio di comperare in accoppiata un preamp come cloudlifter e connettere il tutto a ina buona scheda audio esterna. Nel caso, invece, lo associate al Rodecaster, non c’è necessità del preamp, perché la consolle della Rode ha un settaggio preimpostato per il Podmic. Consigliato per chi fa live streaming o registra a casa o comunque in ambienti non acusticamente trattato. Infatti è un mic dinamico, quindi taglia via molto rumore di fondo. Ottimo per il parlato, meno per il cantato e per nulla buono per strumenti.

Das Mikro ist echt super für seinen Preis. Man sollte allerdings beachten, dass man einen sehr starken Vorverstärker braucht. Habe den Fehler gemacht und versucht es mit dem Scarlett solo v3 zu benutzen, aber das hat leider nicht genug Dampf gehabt. Ich halte also fest, man kann ein 100 Euro Mikro nicht mit einem 100 Euro Interface betreiben. Lest euch also schlau bevor ihr ein Interface kauft, sonst kauft ihr, wie ich, zweimal. Sonst bin ich aber sehr zufrieden.

Sehr gutes Mikrofon, betreibe es mit einem günstigen Native Instruments interface. Damit ist das mikrofon aber zu leise! Deshalb habe ich mir ebenfalls den so genannten fethead bestellt. Damit kann ich die phantomspannung nutzen um das mikrofon um etwa 27db lauter zu machen. Jetzt bin ich mit dem mikrofon bestens zufrieden, aber trotzdem 4 sterne, da der fethead für 70€ nicht so günstig war.

Really great Microphone even with prosumer equipment. I would totally advise to get a Art Tube MP preamp or a Fet Head in order to not use your audio interface or a zoom series recorder ( as those devices don't provide enough gain or barely ) Pairing these with the Ammoon table top mic stands MS-12 are a no brainer for a travel podcasting setup. So going PODMic >> TUBE MP (set gain here) >> Audio interface or recorder ( Start with gain knob to zero and slowly raise until you get around -12 db. ) >> HIT REC for sweet sweet sound. It really weighs a lot too.

Qualität ist top, eine absolute Empfehlung von mir. Scheint für die Ewigkeit gebaut worden zu sein. Klangqualität ist sehr gut, benötigt allerdings viel Gain. Ich habe das Mikrofon an einem Steinberg UR22 MK2 getestet, hier muss der Regler für den Eingang komplett aufgedreht werden, sonst hört man nichts. Empfehlenswert ist dann ein Fethead oder, wie ich es gemacht habe: einen Rodecaster kaufen.

Wer ein gutes Podcast oder Recording Mikrofon sucht aber ein Budget hat, ist das PodMic eine sehr gute Empfehlung. Mit einem eingebauten Pop-Filter und kompakten design ist es perfekt für Podcasts oder Gaming Videos. Auch lässt es sich einfach von einem Focusrite interface mit XLR verbinden, und benötigt dank der guten Tonqualität fast keine Bearbeitung.

Da comprare solo se si ha un'asta microfono ad alta qualità, altrimenti l'assenza della possibilità di metterlo in una shockmount fa fare al microfono molto rumore appena la si tocca. L'ho mandato indietro per questo motivo. In più non è un microfono facile da settare. L'audio però se tutto è sistemato è ottimo.
