Purchased this printer for business presentations. The output quality and speed are impressive. So is the size. It looks like it belongs in a corporate office. Placed on a 30" table top, it's up to your arm pits. We haven't owned this printer for long but we love what we see so far.Printing cost is at least rated lower than just about any color laser (< 5cents color). Speed is up there with any other printer in this price range. I actually broke a small plastic piece in the paper tray. The warranty repair person was there the same day I called (the part didn't keep it from working).The printer has an automatic standby and sleep mode which reduce power use (Sleep is 6w, standby 100w). While it's printing, it'll dim your lights. We have a modern house and the lights really do dim during printing runs.Other than the part in the paper tray, the printer is well made. The only other negative I can mention is the stock toner tubes are 3000 pages which are pretty small. It may be typical to include lightly loaded cartridges but HP for one now includes 8500 page cartridges with their 4000 series color laser. i really thought this thing was the answer to a prayer--a color laser printer just for me! what started off great has turned into sucky. alas, its a piece of junk. this thing after a year or so is misbehaving so much, its the usual now. when i go to print something, its constantly giving me errors, its streaking, and this thing was so expensive (the toner cartridges are like $100 + each.) it would be one thing if it was working normal, but its not. i've looked up online and there are a ton of people complaining about these printers. you get what you pay for i guess. live and learn, yet again. i wonder how high my pile of old printers is getting in the landfill? this current "design for landfill" strategy of companies really sucks. I would think if you spend a little more money, you will get a laser printer that is much more reliable. i bought a brother black and white laser printer years ago and its stlll going strong on the first toner cartridge, it never has problems. i love my brother laser printer (and in case you are wondering if this is a plug, or if i'm representing brother or something, i'm not. actually, i'm currently trying to print something on my ricoh and i keep having to open the machine up and close it every couple of pages so that it will get past the errors to actually print my document. i don't like ricoh, i will never buy another one of their products again.) and to think i've recommended this printer to people after i bought it because it was so cheap--sorry people!

I loved my Ricoh when I first got it. It printed great and was a real workhorse. Then shortly after the warrantee expired (of course) everything went downhill. I replaced the transfer unit because I got an error message saying it needed to be replaced. Immediately I replaced it I started getting a "color registry error" and gradually the printer ceased printing color. After replacing several (very expensive!) parts at the recommendation of Ricoh's tech support to fix the problem I was finally able to print color again only now the colors do not align. Another call to Ricoh and now I'm having to pay nearly $200/hour to have a tech come out and fix it. A service contract is $75/mo and for that much money you can more than buy one or two new printers every year! Before you buy a Ricoh just google "ricoh color registry error" and you'll discover a very good reason why you should stay away from Ricoh printers. I will never own another Ricoh!

The print quality is fabulous and the price was affordable however, the product did not come with drivers for Windows7 and I had trouble finding them. I called for assistance but they wanted a credit card # before they would talk to me so I hung up. I sent an email and had to wait for a response which sent the drivers but no instructions. I had to send a 2nd email to request further assistance. It took over a week to finally get the printer to work with my computer. I know the problem was my level of computer knowledge ... almost none! Once the system was in place it runs like a charm and I love it! The frustration was worth it! Thank you Ricoh!
