OK - So, at the beginning was a bit of a learning curve, but the features and layout of this controller is spectacular! Great for any beginner DJ or someone who just wants to mix up some fun lol.
The only downside IMO, is...the software...I was not a fan of rekordbox. I found it lagging and slow. I ended up just purchasing a VDJ license for the controller and it works perfectly.
I know its a entry level controller but the only thing I wish it had was some more output, like XLR or TLS. My old Hercules RMX had more outputs but less features but this is still worth the money.

Love my new purchase. Its all I wanted. Shipper disappointed me. They dropped my item off in early(6am) hours, outside my door in the rain. By the time I went to work and found it, the outer box was soaked through. Item was dry. I was angry the shipper didn't put it in my porch to avoid the rain and the possibility of it getting stolen. Contacted Amazon to let them know how the shipper treated the item. They were not happy with the shipper and appreciated the info.

I'm a new bedroom DJ and I am beyond pleased with this purchase. I have friends who are professional DJs with much better controllers and when they've played around with the DDJ 400, they were super surprised at how many features it packed.
With so many tutorials available on YouTube and online DJ courses available, I've been able to make my first few EDM sets and random people asking who the DJ was because they were so good. As a brand new beginner I have to give the credit to the ease of use.
Effects, samples, almost everything I see festival DJs do and teach on their tutorials, can be replicated on the DDJ 400.
So happy with it.

My experience with this controller was overwhelmingly negative. I read all the reviews online and thought it looked like a great product. A DJ friend of mind recommended Traktor to me, but I thought I could save a few bucks since the cheapest S2 MK3 was almost a 100$ more than the DDJ-400.
So after I received it, I plugged it in, installed rekordbox, tried to play a song and the controller was unresponsive. I switched between a few USB sockets to make sure it wasn't the problem. I restarted my CPU and re-opened rekordbox, did the firmware update as suggested, and now the channel level lights are blinking non-stop, even when I unplug/replug it in, and even after uninstalling the software and reinstalling it. The controller just doesn't work at all. I tried to find a solution online but the Pioneer FAQ didn't cover my specific problem and the only threads I found online weren't solved ones. After almost an hour of hassle, I put it back in the box and got a refund.
I'll be getting a Traktor s2 MK3 instead. At least I know from experience the software/controller will work properly.

Awesome for starters. If it’s your DJ setup it works with everything except Serato ( djay and djay iPad, Rekordbox, and mappable Traktor I think). Included Rekordbox license is nearly worth the whole cost of the item. It has the best/most available knobs/features untill the 1k price point.
If you have something bigger already, don’t “upgrade” or “go mobile” the knobs are very close together and the effects section lacks compared to a DJM/nexus, SC/prime, or Xone mixers.
Mine had to go back, i’m Going to get something bigger for mobile DJ (SX or SZ series, I miss Serato).

The DDJ-400 is a surprisingly powerful DJ controller that provides a great platform to learn on. It would also easily serve the needs of many DJ's that need a small portable rig for tackling smaller gigs. All key features that are found in a professional setup are there on the DDJ-400, and the general layout is designed to mimic an industry standard CDJ+NXS2 type setup. The fact that it comes with a full Rekordbox license is a huge plus.

I love this product!! I also love to dj!! I also love to dance this controle is the best in the price to lean and get into spinning! And throwing show with this is a breeze. But the phones jack is facing out and a good lil bump boom broke headphone jack, get these if your a beginner if you know you will be throwing shows and getting gigs maybe look at a lil more expensive controller! If you cant aford it get the 4 year warranty I promise you if you use these hard for 4 years something will break. Also my cue is super quiet and dont know if its machanical or a glitch but that's broken and will probably end up buying new tables dont want to these things are awesome but only 4 months and have some major flaws already!

Great to start DJing with and for playing smaller gigs. Its got a CDJ like setup so the transition is quite seamless. Would have preferred some more effect functions on the controller.

Couldnt wait for this machine to come in. Wen it did, it exceeding all my expectations. This machine is deffinetly the machine you would wanna get if your starting out, or jus a hobby. Either way this machine is excellent at a great price. I'm happy with my ddj400. Rekordbox is a full program and offer so much in term of organizing yur music. They both responded very well. Having a full program helps.

Had this for about a year to just kind of play around with and to see if I was interested in learning how to DJ. So from has been great have had no issues at all with the product. Would definitely buy one again but would most likely save up a bit and go for one of the mid tier 4 channel controllers. Other than that great controller to learn the basics on. Hopefully be able to upgrade it soon.

I love the controller itself I think it’s fantastic has all the basic components needed for DJ-ing a live set only problem I have is with how small it is, and the fact that when I installed it I now have to leave rekordbox open on my computer at all times (it often crashes and says unknown application error meanwhile I used rekordbox before buying this controller. So whether that’s a software issue or not, controllers great.

Got some noise in the cross fader. Headphone jack feels like it will break easy if not careful. Works great. Rekord box takes some time to get figured out. Just had a update. Don’t see the fx pop up on the screen anymore when I hit the fx button. But I am sure it’s me. This is a great system wanted the 1000 but thought I should start here.

Great machine. Better than the DJ 200 and worth the money. Just need an amp to play music and a subscription to a decent streaming service to play songs.

The controller was very easy to use. It gives you tutorials that help a lot. I found I had to ask some friends on the uploading process. I did have an issue trying to get sound to come out but that’s because the trims were turned all the way down lol. Great to use and lots of fun!

Very easy to get started. Comes with dj rekord box. Also paid for BPM supreme for my my HQ music files. Fast shipping, came 4 days early. I would recommend this ddj 400 to beginners.

This controller has everything you need to start out mixing music. Very easy to use and really well made. Rekordbox compatibility makes it a great starting deck as when you get to playing shows you will need to be able to have your music in Rekordbox as it is the industry standard for club gear.
