There are other reviews here talking about technicalities, and you can search the web for that. Therefore, I will give you my personal opinion.

I spent months researching projectors for my High End Dedicated Home Theater setup and probably looking for answers to the same questions I see everywhere over the Internet. I tested some DLP based models before buying a LCD based projector. Wow! The colors pop in a LCD projector. I paired my projector with a 110” High Contrast Cinema View screen and the blacks became simply incredible.

My friends come to my house and the comments I hear are: WOW! It looks like a TV! I have seen other projection setup but yours is incredible! This projector is a monster, look how big those lenses are! It looks powerful! Etc. Friends with their own HT like to watch movies in my house because of my setup performance.

I did a lot of research and tested other projectors before settling with this projector and could not be more happy. There is no light leak, noise level is minimal, zoom/focus are perfect, keystone fantastic, menus are perfect, black levels are great!, lots of available settings.

Only drawback is that the projector is heavy, make sure you buy a high quality projector mount.

After using my original one got clicked for using it over 4000 hours. Got this replacement, working great so far. I'm on 395 hours, trying not to use it too much. Lol. I use it on ECO and it works just as nearly bright on nonECO. Shipped from Germany.

This projector is awesome but it's going to break and when it does, you're going to experience Hell firsthand. Sent mine in for a bad HDMI board repair. It's been a month, I STILL don't have a working projector. They beat the daylights out of it, put 60 extra hours on it, scratched the crap out of the IR and Lens covers, unplugged it with the main power switch on re-nuking the HDMI board, shipped it with the lens unsecured and packed it like it was frozen fish rather than a $3000 projector. John McConkey at Panasonic's customer service center is a real jerk to boot; he's curt, condescending and promises things he can't deliver. The whole fiasco was so bad he and another rep both said they'd be sending a new unit to replace the one destroyed by the service center. INSTEAD they re-re-repaired it, replaced the scratched components and are sending it back with an extra lamp to offset the life lost being repeatedly hammered in UPS planes, trucks and sorting centers. Instead of admitting they blew it and make it right, they've wasted a month of my life (and I STILL don't have a projector back yet), an untold fortune in parts, shipping and labor only to return my AE8000U in worse condition than I gave it. Buy the Epson. Buy the Epson. Buy the Epson.

I love Panasonic's product but after dealing with their warranty service for a month I'd compare the experience to dating a supermodel with syphilis. It starts out seeming like a dream come true but ends up being the biggest mistake of your life.

out of the 435+ orders placed on amazon this was the worst. the sellers store front clams that i would have received 3 items with my purchases "1- HDC-Z10000 Twin-Lens 2D/3D Camcorder, 1-Panasonic PT-AE8000U HD 3D Home Cinema Projector w/ All Supplied Accessories, 2- Panasonic 3D Glasses" but all i received was the projector...no camera and no glasses. when i messaged them i received a phone call and they told me that i was wrong and that was not part of the deal. o well i guess the fact that it was in the product title, in the picture, and in the product description makes me wrong. i have also filed a complaint with amazon and with the seller to change the product description and almost a month later no change. i guess that they will dupe more people in to believing them like i did. the only reason i gave them one stars is because they did issue me a full refund. if they were to change the ad i will change my review but until then only one star...bye it from amazon if you can

I have this in our theater/rec room. It's both great for movies and gaming. The update rate is fast enough for gaming and a quick switch to normal and you're all set for movies.
My family absolutely love this projector.

We have it set at 120" in our living room, and I just love it. Been over a year and the bulb is still good. The 3D works awesome! The glasses work really good.

easy to install and fit projector great . easy to adj. looks good bolted it to a board I cut so I could use snug up to the wall studs

I took 3 months debating between the Panasonic PT-AE8000U and the Epson. This is a great projector. Mine sits 16' from the screen and the picture is crystal clear. I'm now waiting for my WOW disc to calibrate.
