My favorite lens for the GH5
This lens is a great performer in all conditions. While it may not be as fast as a quality prime lens, the focal range it offers is amazing! Great image quality and very solid stabilization. Even zoomed all the way in, handheld video is very good and quite usable. This thing practically lives on my camera and is a b-roll capturing dream!

GREAT LENS (12-35 lens)
I've not used this lens a lot yet, since it is winter and I can't travel to other places easily. I'm no expert on lens, but it is the best lens I have other than my trusty 20mm prime. It produces good pictures and I do believe the included hood helps. That's easy enough to use, since it reverses and hooks onto the lens when the lens is in the bag. So it's right there.
I found that the extra stabilizer it has built in helps with low light photos. I can keep the ISO within reasonable limits and still get photos with no camera shake. The wider aperture (2.8) helps as well and I like that that stays stable no matter the magnification (12-35).
Some reviews seem to mix up this lens with the 35=100 lens, its sister so to speak. I have that lens as well and will probably use it a lot this Spring. My intent on getting both is that between the two lenses I can cover all normal situations when I'm shooting architecture, or nature. I normally am not a street photographer and would not use the 12-35 lens reviewed here in that way, as it is physically large and would attract attention. Fine for architecture though since it has the wide aperture (as does the 35-100).
all in all, from my perspective the 12-35 lens is an expensive purchase but well worth the expense.

Great lens
Super versatile lens for the GH5 , I’ve been very happy with it with both my photo and video work
Before that I was shooting with the 15 mm 1.7, but because I do a lot of shooting on a tripod, having that extra zoom is very helpful to get the framing right
Only negative is that it’s not a small lens, so it does add a bit of extra bulk to the camera

Perfect lens
This was my go to lens all over Europe for video with the GH5. The image stabilization is incredible. I hand held shot the whole time.

Great Lens For Micro Four Thirds!
This is a great everyday lens for Micro Four Thirds. I was amazed by the image and build quality. It's super sharp, the colors really pop and you can focus pretty close to your subject. If you shoot video this is very quiet when changing focus. It's a little tight for vlogging or hand held self portraits.
Overall I really like and recommend this lens. This is something you can keep for many years.

I'm one impressed newbie
Full disclosure: I'm a total photo/video amateur, and this was my first ever lens purchase. Maybe I'm easily amazed, but I haven't found any flaws to complain about with this lens. I'm mainly doing YouTube videos, so its almost entirely portrait-style talking-head kinds of videos. I was worried that the 12mm minimum focal length on a M43 sensor wouldn't be wide enough, but it's perfect for me at just over arm's length away from the camera. The widest aperture setting of f2.8 seems to be shallow enough of a depth of field for my purposes, although I have found myself occasionally wishing for an even wider aperture to improve low-light performance and allow for a lower ISO setting.
Build quality is what I would expect for a lens of this cost (which was wildly expensive for me as a newbie, but apparently it's a reasonable cost relative to what some other lenses cost). It's solid, sturdy, has a hefty weight to it, the focus and zoom rings are smooth and satisfying, and the image stabilization is truly amazing to me. It makes hand-held shots look cinematic and smooth, I'm really impressed. I'm using this lens with the GH5, and together they make a pretty impressive pair.

Autofocus beast with GH5 and GH5s
I have tried several lenses with the GH5 just for autofocus and this is hands down the best I have tried. I needed a light fast lens to use on a gimbal and this one does the trick. 2.8 is pretty fast but on the GH5s it is more than enough to use in dark weddings with the ISO up around 6400. Autofocus is smooth with the latest updates to the GH5 with little to no breathing or hunting.

Heavy breathing
Love the form factor of this and the fact that the lens doesn’t change its physical length when zooming. The one and only issue I have with this and every other Panasonic lens I have is the focus breathing. For photography this is not a problem but for video it is a huge concern when pulling focus.

My new favorite lens
I love this lens. For event shooting it's just so good. The smooth, soft backgrounds behind my subjects just look beautiful. Considering if I had a full frame camera I'd be carrying around a beast of a body AND the full size 70-200 lens, this little lens is amazing.

Sharp. Great Performer.
Both zoom and focus are internal, so the lens doesnt become a mile long when you zoom it. Incredible sharpness. One of my favorite lenses.

GREAT lense . Especially with the GH5.
I've been using this lense for a few months now. Very nice quality and image stabilization is fantastic especially when paired with the GH5 which also has image stabilization. If you want a zoom lense, look else where. If you want an all around good lense for most projects, this is it.

Lumix 35-100
Use on my Lumix G9 and is very sharp and compact. Is half the size of my 70-200 F4 from mt Nikon FF and 3 times less than 70-200 F 2.8.

worth the price tag
holy crap- wish we'd bought this when we bought the gh5 originally. Using the stabliziation of the lens in tandem with the IBIS makes it like we don't needle a gimbal anymore. this lens is also wide enough so its each to face the camera at you an arms legnth away and vlog without a terrible fish eye effect.

Pretty good lens for the bmpcc 4k
I have this on my bmpcc 4k and it works pretty good. Decent zoom and the push button auto focus does work.

Sharp and all around lens
It's sharp at f 2.8 and it gives a natural look to the image, Its slightly over priced. It's wire by focus be aware of that but overall it's a great 24mm to 70 mm focal range.
