This is "clearly" another excellent Orico product!
Purchased two of these - one for myself and another for a friend to use with a 1TB drive connected to his PS4. Shortly after, he said it didn't fit but then that's because the drive he's using is a 15mm drive instead of the 7/9.5mm version. But he's keeping it anyway as it's better than using a USB - SATA cable and I bought one to use with a spare WD 500GB drive.
It's is a quirky take on the traditional drive enclosure being completely transparent and this is pure Orico - excellent packaging, great design, sturdy construction, and works flawlessly! I always buy Orico enclosures and this is yet another great addition to my network of drives.
I'd like to see Orico release more enclosures and hubs in a transparent fashion - a clear version of their 7-port USB3 hub would be rather fun to have!

Great product and value for money!
So far i have bought 2 of these enclosures 1 for a PS4 and the other for a PC to use as external storage.
I used an old 500GB Sata hard drive from a 2012 laptop which was 9.5mm in thickness and added this to the enclosure. The usb cable provided for the enclosure is the same one used on an official external PS4 enclosure (Don't be fooled by Sony stating you can only use their own external hard drives or approved PS4 hard drives)
I used AOMEI free partition software on Windows 10 to FORMAT the hard drive as EXFAT file format and plugged into the front USB port of the PS4, which picked it up straight away. Obviously you have to go into the system settings on PS4 to enable extended storage.

Works with Nvidia Shield
Recently bought an Nvidia Shield and after some research chose Sandisk 128GB SSDPLUS SSD drive with Orico 2.5 inch USB 3.0 enclosure. Works fine with 172MB/s read and 69MB/s write. On connection to Shield it stated that drive was corrupt but I just had to plug it into Windows pc and assign a drive letter using Disk Management. Also, using such hardware on Shield can cause problems with Shield remote due to WiFi and Bluetooth interference. I had to fix this by going into Settings - Device - Usb mode and enabling compatibility mode. Everything working great now.

hopeless drive enclosure
looks ok but quite hopeless drive interface, most of the time the drive isn't detected when power up pc. You have to unplug and replug it in for PC to detect the drive.
The drive disconnects itself after a while! the led light flashing as if there is activities but PC could not see the drive!
The device also affect other USB devices and prevent PC from seeing those devices! Luckly so far no file has been lost or damaged.
Last time ever buying anything from Orico, over teh year had tried many Orico accessories and they are flimsy and unreliable.

Replacement hard drive case
Great product ,thought my hard drive was busted as lead connector was broke then came across this little gem
Easy to install just open up your hard drive take out winners then simply push into the connector on the new unit and then slide the backing door on and connect wire to pc - laptop- or tv and as good as new

Lifesaver
My laptop gave up the ghost. It just wouldn't boot up and I thought I'd lost everything on there. Pulled our the hard drive and fit it into this enclosure, which was simpler than I expected. It's literally plug and play. Got everything stored on there and I can view it all on my new laptop. Might buy another just in case.

Good enclosure, recommended
I like the idea of it being transparent as in the past i have had to put stickers on these enclosures to remember capacity of drive i put in it. With this one you can just see through the case and look at what's in it. Connected to USB3 and USB2 no problem and happy to transfer rates.

No external psu required
Super piece of kit just drop the ssd into the box, that's it. Format ssd in pc. I use mine for recording from TV as it is silent and powered by usb.

ORICO 2.5 Inch External Hard Drive Enclosure USB 3.0
Disappointed with this case. Item looks good simple to install but read and write speeds are terrible. used with a dive on a raspberry pi 4 read speeds were 110 mbs. used same hard drive in a more expensive drive and speeds are now 385mbs for read. cheaper is not always better.
