Bought this phone 1 year back and in initial days itself.. it had heating issues.
My OnePlus 5 never gave me that issue.
The camera is also average for this one.
Didn't feel like an upgrade at all.
I was considering to buy 9 pro but because of curved display I didn't opt for it, as there's no proper protection/tempered glass for curved displays and I don't keep/handle things properly so if something happens have to pay hefty for the repair of display so at last I considered OnePlus 9.
The phone is just amazing for the price range I got. Camera is just awesome and plus I am not much of camera person so for me it's amazing but if u are a camera person and loves to click pictures than you should consider 9 pro as 9 doesn't have OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) so as a result if there's even a slight movement while clicking pictures than your image will get distorted. And the video Stabilization is not as good as OnePlus 9 pro. I am not much of image person so for me 9 rocks. There's a lot of comments you are gonna see by people complaining about heating issue but such people have failed to edit the comment & update it. When you open OnePlus 9 straight Outta the box u get OS 11.2 update, if u don't update it then the phone heats up like hell straight after update the phone's good to go and there's no heating effect after OS.11.2 update.
And for Indian market this phone only contains 2 5g bands ie., N41, N78, so thats a bump there but for me thats not much of issue as still it will take a year or so in India for the proper infrastructure of 5g network plus I use wifi all the time, so for people who use wifi all the time doesn't make much difference & Snapdragon 888 does support all the bands of 5g so in future they may be slight chances for op to upgrade and open all the bands well I am just saying don't take it like personally it's my view but they may be slight chances that they may open all the bands, as it's all about licensing by Qualcomm.
Apart from hardware and shit the best thing about this phone is wide angle camera it's just amazing,💥💥🔥🔥, I personally feel and watching all the yt video premium phones comparison, with partnering up with hasselblad op 9 and 9 pro takes the best wide angle images and the stabilization video of op 9 pro is on another level. With more natural colour restoration and not much of dynamic effects. The night scape is not that good as I compared it with pixel 4, as pixel takes better night scape then 9, because of lack of OIS. But if u switch to wide angle then 9 again beats it in that segment and plus the processing is way faster in night scape mode don't have to wait of 15-30 secs for the image to get processed thanks to Snapdragon 888. Battery life is good, it's giving now 1.5 days of usage in single charge with decent usage though apart for sleeping time my phone is connected to wifi all the time. Dolby Atmos is just amazing and the display is good. I got it for 36k after discount and exchange offer, even if u get this phone for 45k it's worth it tbh. Don't fall for negative comments those people have failed to update their comments. In terms of looks of the phone it doesn't feel worth premium phone, but in terms of usage definitely a premium phone.
1. Camera. The rear primary and ultra wide cameras take some great shots in good light. The dynamic range is good enough for a smartphone. The background bokeh and subject separation specially in potrait mode is top notch. The colours turn out natural and towards the warm side. One nifty little feature is that the 50MP ultra wide turns into macro automatically if you are close enough to the subject. This gives some truly detailed shots.
Front camera isn't much of an improvement over last gen OP devices (I used OP6T). Its fairly consistent with the shots.
2. Performance. Inspite of the merged Oxygen and Color OS and though I faced several issues after initial update to Android 12, most of the issues have been ironed out with quick incremental updates and security patches. As a result the OS is still snappy and responsive aligning with the core ideology of OnePlus - fast and smooth. Also, there aren't as much bloatwares as some other manufacturers are still pushing. I'm a regularuser mostly with occasional intensive tasks like 4k video recording and editing, playing memory intensive games like genshin impact etc. Have not faced any issues so far.
3. Looks. I know it is subjective and they should have given a metal frame and a matte finish on the astral black colour, but nevertheless as most of us spend time with our phone inside a case, not a deal breker for me.
4. Audio. Dolby atmos in stereo speakers do make a difference. There is good balance and audio separation ia good with a fairly loud yet rich sound.
5. Display. A 120hz AMOLED with HDR support is expected and it is commensurate. Though, OP should have opted for an E4 or E5 panel to save some precious juice. Also, OnePlus if you are listening, please give us the widevine L1 support so that we can truly appreciate the great display.
6. Battery life. This is one area where several optimizations can be done and improvement is expected. That being said, it gets me to around 5hrs to 5.5 hrs of SOT where the batery falls to around 15-20% so can't complain much.
7. Software updates. Recently OP has confirmed 3 years of major OS and 4 years of security updates for this device. Let's hope the rumoured H2O OS is the most refined version of OOS and ColorOS and it comes out globally in future. This is another area where OP needs to show its mettle that they actually didn't settle.
65W charging is a game changer!!
1.Display quality u can view 4k videos in this mobile.
2.Stereo Sound is Awesome.
3.Camera is stunning in this price
4.Fast charging
5.fingerprint reader
Cons
1.Comprising battery life.Actually due to higher resolution display battery is draining fastly.we can change refresh rate in settings but we cant change display resolution in settings
2.One worst thing is google dialer app.We cannot auto record/manual record calls as it says ur call is recording as a voice.I think google has no sense in this feature.
Finally Phone is upto the mark and I guess oneplus will release some software updates to change the display resolution in future.
Dirt particles are getting inside camera visited service centre twice but no proper resolution given.
In a nutshell: this phone can't be used in a warm climate. That's all you need to know.
Today I'm gonna review the Oneplus 9 5G .
Ask me any questions you have directly , and I'll try to answer them all. 🙏
Okay so let's start :
The phone looks quite good , its thin but a bit less wide , I use an iPhone 12 Pro Max , and it's around 1-2 cm less wide . Not a big issue .
Screen is fluid , no problems at all . I have used oneplus 7T so I've trust over this brand .
Battery :
The 65 watt charger does what it's meant to . The cable is a USB C To C . Not the old usb to C . Charges in around an hour .
Camera :
In my opinion , the biggest selling point is the camera here . Looks good , with a tinge of extra saturation . Way better than the older ones . Gives a lot of independence too .
PUBG :
ALot of people buy oneplus devices for games , and comparing to my iPhone , this device gives a good competition . 90 fps is an advantage over apple , but rarely devices give 90 fps , maybe in tdms but not in classics . No lag , but you will see some frame drops , but which device doesn't have frame drops ! Even the iPhone does .
Competitors :
I needed to purchase this for my mother , so Need to share why I went for this .
There's IQOO , Asus and Oneplus in this range which are worth buying . I have been using one plus so I trust them more , they have a local service center too , something which I lack in my iPhone experience .
I don't trust vivo much , IQOO is a developing brand , it's op for sure , but still couldn't gamble . The Oneplus gives better cameras than any other , which is the main reason I got this , as camera usage is a lot .
People with similar budget with just gaming budget can go for rog , but if you need a family phone , this guy packs nearly everything .
*You also get stickers and a red cable club card , which is something I like .
CONS :
Oneplus really needs to deal with the software issues . There's always some thing left to patch after the release , which sucks .
The dialer has that annoying annoucement during recording , and that really can make you go deaf XD
Overall , could go for rog if needed a gaming phone , but since a lot of my family members use this device , I went for one plus .
Thanks for reading , I hope I helped you :)
There is nothing wrong with the vibration motor, absolutely no dropped calls on TMOBILE network and I AM ABSOLUTELY THRILLED!!! I have been buying OnePlus since the 7 pro. I live in Arizona and drove to Texas, and I had service the entire way. THIS PHONE IS AMAZING!!
If I had to find out an issue in this phone, it is the lack of a headphone jack but that is all phones today.
Battery has some serious heating issue
Once full charged it give 6 hrs 30 min to 7 hours of screen on time
Charging time from 0 to 100 is 32 to 33 min only.
Camara was good but not best
In summer sale I got this phone for 26,600rs which is good deal.
My old phone phone note 7 pro exchanged with a price of 7640rs.
Touch screen is good
Fingerprint sensor 3.5/5
Face recognition 4/5
Battery 3/5
Overall performance is good but not upto the expectations.
