We've purchased thousands and thousands of these blades over years and what we found was that after OLFA switched the design, but not the part number, the quality went down hill. This change appears to have happened around 2019 and the way to easily pick it out is that the box the 50 count blades come in is yellow (good) and blue (bad). These "blue blades" do not retain the same level of sharpness as the prior versions. I'm really disappointed that they have made this change instead of just down grading the model and leaving the higher quality, longer lasting blade in place. I love this. Every time I tear into a new piece of foam core it fills me with joy. The black edition definitely cuts for longer. It stays sharp for more cuts, and is just amazing to look at. If you are one of the few people who get pleasure from getting clean cuts, you'll want to have this in your life. Now. I barely use any other blades/cutters. No flimsy exacto knife #2 for me. No 10000 little blades to buy.
This blade and the olfa holders gives unexpectedly clean/easy cuts that are VERY precise. Once you master this in your hands, you'll save a lot more time just cutting with this, instead of switching out blades all the time.
I am an art student and dependable/sharp blades for clean cuts is VERY important to me. I wish I knew of this blade/knife combo when I first started my art education, instead of in the middle of it. A++++++ all the way. Get it. Feel the power.
If I could, I would cuddle next to my blades.
But the student loans are stabby enough.

This is the sharpest blade I have ever used. I use them for trimming wallpaper where clean cutting is essential. Wet paper is subject to tearing and shredding with anything less than a super sharp blade. I also use the smaller size of this Olfa Black blade. The snap off feature of this blade allows for essentially a blade replacement with the inconvenience of reloading a new blade.

I've used many other knife and blade brands over the years and I've found Olfa knives and blades to be the best, period. These blades are my favorite and I'll probably never use any others again. For some applications, the Olfa Speed Blades are better, but the cost to performance benefit makes it not worth it for me. The Speed Blades cut through cardboard like butter, but these are a very close second. At the time of writing this review, the Speed Blades are $1.29 per blade, and these are 57 cents per blade, so it's a killer deal for what you get. You won't be disappointed with these blades!

I use utility knives like...I dunno every day. I wear pants and have a pocket specifically for knives because I need knives at work. I bring a utility knife with me everywhere. I gave up on the utility knives because of expensive blades and constant changing of blades. These blades last a very long time and to change them I just snap off the dull piece.
Im never going back to Stanley knives and blades.

These are great replacement blades for my Olfa snap knife. The case they come in is easy to open and, importantly, easy to close again and store without fear of the blades spilling out. The blades appear to be shipped with a light amount of packing oil, which is lovely since they don't rust. Blades are just short of shaving sharp, but are exactly what you're looking for in a disposable knife blade.

It's a lot of blades.
Blades are wicked sharp (just as they should be).
The OLFA blades fit several of my generic utility knives. Most recently I refilled them with DeWalt 18 mm blades. Now I have these OLFA blades. Interchangeable.
Cost works out to $.59 per blade. Awesome blades, super price.

They might cost more but they are stronger and stay sharper longer. These really do cut through cardboard boxes longer and better then the cheaper blades.

Only thing that counts here is how long it stays sharp.. They all start that way, this one stays that way longer IMHO.. (cutting various foams) For some reason, epp/epo/eps foams all have some magic property that kills blades.. this one holds up better than the others I have tried..

The best 18mm snap blades available.

I had some standard Olfa blades left so I could compare them UltraSharp. I held a 3x5 card by one end and sliced it with both blades. No contest! The UltraSharps are considerably sharper. I'll be back for more.

These blades beat anything else that is out there. By comparison to ones purchased from a big box store these blades were sharper and lasted longer than any others. I highly recommend.

2nd order. Dad loves these. Much better than ones we get at Home Depot. We cut a lot of boxes, these are a lot sharper and dad says probably last 2-4x as long as the store bought blades.

Cannot believe it. I bought the blades 6 month ago, stored in a dry and cool place. Today when I am trying to use it, there is rust all over the blade. Carbon steel? Excuse me?

No doubt about it, these black Olfa blades are sharper and Stay sharper longer.
I am a professional painting contractor by trade and cut a lot of plastic sheeting to tape/cover up windows and doors prior to airless paint spraying, and I immediately noticed that the blades cut much more plastic before dulling at all.

Having used Olfa blades since 2003, I can assure you that the UltraMax blades are not only sharper than the standard Olfa blades, they hold their edge much longer... For the small difference in price, I highly recommend them for anything from drywall to cardboard. Happy slicing!

Todo el mundo que hace bricolage -incluso aunque solamente los use para oficina- sabe que los cortadores Olfa son de una calidad contrastada. En este caso, repito el modelo porque me parece de los más sencillos, ligeros y fáciles de usar del mercado. Sumando que su construcción material es impecable y que la cuchilla de 30º Olfa es excelente ¿Qué más se puede pedir? Para mí se trata de uno de los objetos que siempre tengo cerca de la mano y al que acudo en todo momento. Lo recomiendo con carcater general. Es un cinco estrellas.
