The Noctua cpu cooler is very well made and installs like a dream. The quality of the craftsmanship is obvious. The fans are incredibly quiet even when set to the highest speed. You need one of these!

Not only did this CPU cooler work better than the stock Intel cooler it was whisper quiet even though it has two fans. Although the cooler is heavy its motherboard backplate gives it a firm base.The cooler attaches firmly to the CPU with well designed hardware.Aside from the exception below, the product manual and installation directions are excellent.The only negative is that the pictures and directions for attaching the wire clips that hold the fans in place are not clear. But the clips work well once you figure out how to attach them.

saw that when researching the best cooler in newegg and overclockers forums.this was rather cheap here at amazon. even thought still expensive considering the other similar coolers.The cooler without any fan is already better then my old beefy intel cooler.i'm using one fan on it and the other fan pushing air out of the case. They are as silent as the other 12mm fans that came with my Antec case. so nothing exceptional there. Almost all 12mm fans are silent. vortex crap on fan blades is just snake oil.now, only time will tell if the remain silent. that's the biggest challenge in a fan.also, i like the color. screw products with leds!

As I was installing this heatsink I was able to over-torque one of the mounting screws (without barely any effort). I did not get a response to emails to get replacement hardware.

I purchased this fan to replace an old stock fan on an AMD X2. My old fan was getting way too loud, so I spent a lot of time researching quiet solutions. Noctua is very well known for producing quality quiet fans, so I thought I'd shell out for one of their CPU coolers. Shopping around, I found the best price here for $65 shipped. This is a great price, as most other places list it for around $85 shipped. When I got the fan it was fairly easy to install, the parts were well organized in the packaging, no complaints there. The cooler is large, but most coolers are. It's still dwarfed by my Cosmos case. The cooler came with two fans, only needed one, so I mounted the other one to replace a case fan. After booting up and leaving my computer idle for about 6 hours my CPU temp is around 32C, much lower than the 40+ I was getting with stock. This is a great cooler, and I would recommend it to anyone who's even considering it. My one and only complaint is that my case is so quiet now that I can hear my monitor buzzing.

Ordered a server from Thinkmate and it came with stock coolers. The thing was so noisy I am not even sure I could have kept it in a data center, let alone under my desk. I RMA'd it back to them and they dropped two of these bad boys in...bye bye noise. Really big and cool looking too.

A great cooler, silent, big, with 2 fan. I preferred to not put the cables for Low noise and ultra low noise, but it is very silent.Awkward to install, a little dificult, and very big, so your gabinet have to be mid or full tower.

I use with the blue connector ULNA and i dont here nothing, very quiet, en perfect with my Q6600 working over 3,2 Ghz overclocked( 44C full load) The only thing, i cant use my chipset cooler becouse it doesnt match in place with noctua cooler ( verey big!)

This is a great product. No load temps at 29 and with load at 35. I haven't overclocked yet but this product arrived intact and performance is great.

I purchased this heatsink after two of my friends also go the same one for their computer. I'm running an i7 and it helped drop my temps from ~52C to 39C. I'm only using one of the two 120mm fans that they have provided too. It's a little bigger than what I'm used to and it required me to remove one of my side fans, but it was well worth it. I definitely would purchase another Noctua product in the future.

Bought this from one of the resellers for 66.49 (don't know where Amazon get's their $140+ price from). Am using it on i7 860 chip. This is one of the few coolers that has a bracket for the 1156 socket. The unit comes with two 120mm Noctua fans. I only used one and used the other to replace an Antec case fan that came with the case.With no OC, the idle temp ranges 24-27°C. Using an Asus P7P55D motherboard and using their auto OC tuning, idle temp range jumps up about 10°C. Have only had this build up and running for two days, so I have not had a chance to do much testing. I'm not a gamer, so it should be more than adequate cooling for my needs. And it's quiet-really quiet.Caution: this is a large heat sink and will not fit in some cases. I'm using an Antec P-183 case and have about an inch clearance between the top of the cooler and the case cover.

I have had this installed for about 3/4 of a year now. I am using it on a Asus P5Q Pro MB with LGA775 E8400 3.0GHz Dual Core CPU in the Antec P182 case and ATI 4870. I leave my box on 24x7 with the case fans on medium. My bios always reports the CPU temp at ~45 degrees Celsius. It comes with a fan and a metal clip to hold it. The clip is strong and thus a little hard to get on. I accidentally put my fan on backwards, but it was easy to flip around (clip still strong). The fan is more quiet than the ones on my case even if I switch the case fans to low speed. One note, I did not use the thermal compound that came in the box or Arctic Silver. I used a newer product called Arctic Cooling MX-2.

Great cooler. My cpu temperature was always 50-65F. (i7 extreme)Now....temperature is between 37F-50F after installed Noctua cooler.You will need a lot of space in pc case, cooler is big.Also it's tricky to install ventilators when metal part is installed.Installation took me about 30 minutes, including removal of motherboard.Great product. It will be part of my next pc in the future.

After laying down my new rampageII motherboard and installing the I7 920 cpu. I started putting down the mounting piece and as you see it`s curved which is the problem for me or any one who have rampage II as this curve will be on some of the mother board fuzes (the small things on the mother board). but I just screwed it down and installed the cooler. but if any one with Rampage II get the normal Noctua NH-U12P not the SE 1366. other than that it`s great cpu cooler and dos`t make noise at all.update: bought another cooler, this noctua is very tiresome to unmount and remount, because you have to remove the 2 fans 1st, which is a hassle because the steel wires you need to put on the fan and then put it around the cooler edges.

The best CPU cooler I have ever bought. Lighter weight, good size, user replaceable fans. It honestly cools my CPU 2 degrees centigrade cooler than the ambient temperature of my computer tower. I overclocked my Intel E8400 cpu by 1.0 GHz for a month and it still kept the processor below case temp.

Hello, this CPU cooler From Noctua is by far the best of the best...i have heat problems with my pc: Q6600 @3.0Ghz, 4GB Ram, 8800GT. The temps are inthe range of 52C idle and 69 Load, with the NinjaB a massive cooler and 2 120mm fan inthe cooler but the machine runs very hot!! Im tired of this adn decide to buy this cooler, the installation is easy(i have to deattach my board) but the thermal compound, the retention system and the instructions are the best. It took me 20 minutes at all, but the results:The cooler is small, and come with 1 120mm silent fan, i add another from my old cooler (noctua s12) and the temps: 40C idle and 55 Load!! i reccomend to every person that want the best of the best and dont want water cooling. 10 stars!!

Great product. Installed on Asus mother board and over colcked i920 to 3.5GHz and during normal PC operation, the CPU temperature remains under 60c.

I got this cpu cooler to go with my amd phenom 9600 quad core. It gets the job done and handles well during gaming. If your looking for something to keep your quad core processor cool and handle anything. Get This.

I'm not an overclocker, so I'm not sure how helpful my comments will be to others. This was my first time using other than a stock cooler, i. e., the usual Intel cooler. The written instructions were clear and helpful. The device is quiet when the motherboard is saving energy. It does keep the processor cool. I only build computers every five or six years, so I got the extra cooler to try to anticipate what hardware I would need, to keep up with future software fatware. :-)

Great performance, quiet. Secures with mounting plate to the MB, so no pesky push-pins popping loose all the time. Should cost around $65 at most computer geek stores.

What else is there to say - it's a sure win. You pay for quality, and quality you get. Installing wasn't that hard - instructions are great, just read all of them before starting. My CPU is very cool now and the noise... wait, what noise? :)
