I've had the opportunity to use them on my board in Vail for four days. The step-in experience is solid, and makes it easy to get off the lift and step in without sitting down. When riding with them, they are supportive as my old Burton bindings. The lever to release the boot very occasionally freezes and requires pulling the back of the boot to release. Overall, I'm happy and wouldn't ever go back to traditional bindings

I bought these after much debate over the price and whether they were worth it. I can now say, YES! These are worth every penny. I am older and was struggling with the bindings and it makes going snowboarding challenging. I installed the bindings, read the instructions on how to use them, tried them at home.
Today I went to the slopes and these are amazingly easy to use. THANK YOU! I highly recommend these bindings to anyone.

2nd year on them. I ride hills, not mountains so it's perfect for getting in and out. I wouldn't recommend for mountain riders as they are hefty. Really can feel the weight on these. So if you like light weight set ups... this is not the binding for you. If you need to strap in and out a lot (like me). This is perfect.

Overall, I do love these bindings. I have had flow #2 bindings for the past 8+ years. These are much quicker, and you don’t need to stop once you get it down! It has taken a little to get used to the new step in and release. Sometimes when stepping in, your foot gets caught in the strap or you accidentally clip the back support closed, and it locks your bindings, so you have to stop. I wish it only locked in when your foot hits the actual step in the binding and not by pushing the binding closed. My only other annoyance is you need to pull the latch to release the lock. It would be a much better design to push down on the latch. Pulling up your hand and foot at the same time is strange and kind of like patting your head and rubbing your stomach, you mess it up. The last concern is with the plastic material and longevity, but so far so good. My last recommendation would be to give better install instructions. The latches go on the inside. It seems like they should go on the outside, but the instructions did not say and I had to find a video to make sure. Otherwise, I highly recommend them and would pick them over my old flow bindings.

I'm happy with this purchase now, though I was initially very frustrated. I had been toying with the idea of getting these for a while and finally pulled the trigger before last season. At first they were difficult to use, and I found myself having to unstrap them and use them like regular bindings, which I thought was a total waste because I specifically wanted the quick entry and exit withough having to sit down in the snow. After using them for maybe 5-6 runs, the material loosened up/broke in, and the quick entry and exit works like a charm. I absolutely love them and I'm so glad I got them. Highly recommended, just know they will need to break in a bit before they have full functionality. It could also be due to the fact that I have size 14 snowboard boots so there's not a lot of adjustment room in the buckles.

Love my original supermatics. I’m a beginner snowboarder and I can click in and go in seconds wasting no time to do laps nonstop. I have had no issues with the straps loosening or the locks becoming unlocked. It was a little hard to get your foot in but once you get it, it’s really easy. You just have to loosen the middle strap. Overall I highly recommend it. They are excellent.

Changing my rating from 4 to 5 stars. I had at 4 intially because I had a very difficult time getting out of the bindings. There is a little learning curve getting out. Someone actually showed me at the mountain and then all is good. Only felt the difference with heaviness on the 1st day and then you get used it and adjust quickly. I love them. I've been ridingnfor like 20 yrs and now as an older man on the slopes its a game changer.

Tried them 2 different days now. So getting in I will give 4/5 stars. Foot Out maybe 2 stars. The release lever is just too hard to depress and get your foot out consistently. I brought a stick the 2nd day to help release my foot. Still have to unlatch the binding traditional way. Then you have to reset binding straps for the easy entry and adjust the straps all over again (to get heel and toe straps tightened again). So for the day you get one or two perfect entries. Otherwise it leaves a bit more to be desired. Day 1 was a powder day dropped into Resolution Bowl at Copper Mountain. 1st rope drop of the season and 1st tracks to the bottom, minimum knee deep lots of snow waist deep! Bindings felt great in the deep powder. Had to loosen the middle strap a bit to releave the arch crunch that makes your feet fall asleep. Mounted on a Never Summer Proto FR DF 166. This setup is heavy board and bindings. I mostly ride trees and glades and black diamond to get away from crowds. But the bindings were very resposive at the end of the day blazing down a blue to a lift before 4pm to get to the right part of the mountain for the shuttle to car. Bindings replaced Flux XF all mountain bindings. The Supermatics are heavier but it awesome when they just click in and you are going. But getting out in anything that isn't just flat with no powder is dissappointing. Even pushing with the stick couldn't release the binding. It's like you have to leave the binding too loose to have good control and it works fine but when you crank it down you can't get out...
Update Day 3- Learned that you can lock the latch down which greatly reduced the need to feel like you have to micro adjust. So that makes in 5/5 stars. Out still has some difficulty but Nidecker reached out on FB and said to keep pressure on your heel then push the button and then lift up. That motion does help but I still need a stick to help me push down. But out I will give 3/4 improved for an overall of 4/5 Stars.

I was nervous about paying such a high price for bindings and had heard stories of who step ins can be a bad idea… Nope! They were great! Only had one instance in which I started a run and looked down and realized my foot wasn’t locked in, quick correction and had no issues after that (happened due to a lot of ice/snow buildup). They look great and very durable!
Would gladly recommend these bindings!

Took a few rides to get it adjusted, just can't be overly tight or it's harder to get my foot in. Over all I'm really happy with these. Feels very secure and it's it's so much quicker to keep up with my husband on skis!!!!
They are with the extra $$ and really like that they are universal for all boots. I was concerned about the size. I wear size 3 kids boots and the small fits great. They adjust small enough without going to the tightest setting. Thumbs up, looking forward to the next season.

Nothing like stepping off the lift and stepping right in to your bindings. Stiff enough for full control. However, the latch for getting out is very far down and on the inside. My arm is on the outside so it takes a helluva contortion to get to it. Why not put the latch on the outside where it is reachable? And a little taller?

I had the Burton cartels which had great response and flex but I wanted a step in binding. I got these which feel softer than the cartels but are still responsive. I like that they don't require a specific boot and that you can adjust the tension on the boot as opposed to other step in systems. They are heavier than regular bindings but I haven't noticed a huge difference.

Got these yesterday threw them on my board and took it out today. The at ease you have with these are great. The response on them is also great. Take your time getting them set up not hard but make sure everything is located in the correct place. The only down side I have had at this point is making sure your pants are out of the way as you lock yourself in. But once your locked your one with your board they are great and I would suggest them to anyone looking for a new set up. The at easy is great. I could not be any happier. I was looking at the clew and these. I went with these main reason being I can ajust the back vs the clew there is no adjustment you get what you get with them.

I love that you can easily step into them and they are simple to adjust but if they feel like they are digging into your boot don’t get frustrated and give up on them just try adjusting the tightness since they aren’t the same as my old pair I like to wear them a little bit loose. They work well on the terrain park also.Hope this helps 👍

They are sick once you get use to them. Can’t run them super tight at first or they are a bit sticky on the release. Have heard they break in after awhile so they aren’t as hard to release. Not crazy stiff, but very responsive and comfortable. They are worth it!

I ABSOLUTELY love these bindings. Broke them in for snowboard season ‘23 and they were amazing. The ease of slipping in and out of the bindings was great and I didn’t have to worry about sitting down and strapping in. Launch from the lift, drop foot in and roll! All my buddies thought they were awesome and a couple of them are actually buying them for themselves. For the older snowboarding folks…. This will be a life saver for your back.

They look bulky at first but I love these bindings. I also needed XL because my shoe size is a 13 so my giant feet contribute to the size of the bindings. Only complaints i read about was took awhile to het the right adjustments. I know they're just bindings but read the instructions for first time fitting and you won't be wasting time trying to make adjustments later.

Road for 3 days in park city. Awesome for 2.5 days. I loved them, best bindings on the planet. I will say the reviews of stepping in a slope are correct, very hard to do, but most of the time directly off the lift it is flat and non issue. Easy step in, looks cool, rides great just like a regular binding, unfortunately one of the bindings mechanisms got stuck and I returned them. Impossible for me to fix with a screw driver, I tried, watch some you tube videos, etc. For the price and being brand new, the mechanism should be more reliable. Big bummer! Going to have to research other step in type bindings for next year… for now back to sitting on my butt =[

Bought these with high hopes but the locking system is very inconsistent. About 25% of the time the latch on my back foot won’t unlock and I have to undo the ratchet straps. Also if you have them properly tightened, it’s nearly impossible to get your foot in, and if you’re not synched in tightly, your heel will lift up against the heel roller that doesn’t really help you get your foot in to begin with. Overall very disappointed in these bindings, especially considering the price. Wish I went with Flo

Extremely disappointed with my purchase.. the plastic ratchet broke the first time that I used these and I was 1 day outside of the return window. I really wish I could get a refund with how expensive these are. I bought the exact same bindings through their website and they also broke, so this is truly a manufacturer issue and these are made cheaply.

I was a bit hesitant about these bindings at first. This was only my fifth time snowboarding, and my initial impressions were mixed. When I strapped in, I quickly realized I could hardly get my boot out, let alone back in! It took a few tries of adjusting them before I found that sweet spot where I could get them on and off. Even then, they felt pretty stiff and required a good amount of effort to get my boots in. Strapping in from a standing position was especially tricky for someone still figuring out their balance.
But everything changed after about 2-3 runs down the mountain. The bindings started to break in, and my experience transformed completely! Suddenly, my boots slid in and out like butter, and I could strap in quickly and efficiently while still feeling supported. I even tightened them just a bit for even better support, and to my surprise, it didn’t make it harder to put them on again like I had thought it might.
For a beginner, this ease of use is a game-changer. The last thing you want after getting off the lift is to struggle with your bindings. With the Nidecker Supermatic, I could hop on my board and hit the slopes almost immediately after getting off the lift. This alone is worth its weight in gold for anyone new to the sport since getting up and down can be tiring enough without the added hassle.

These bindings are great, they make life so much easier. Some of the negative reviews I've seen are about them not being easy to get your foot in if you have the straps tight, but you can keep the straps as tight as you like, you just have to keep the middle one that connects the ankle and toe strap loose and then they work perfectly and are easy to get into and tight

These have a good build and quality. When going in these are not the easiest if your bindings are tightened down all the way. most of the time ended up having to loosen the top bindings then tightening them down again, stepping out is not to bad but still difficult, I ended up returning and getting the burton step on which I would recommend over these.

What can I say! I love these bindings. I have used a lot of step in and strapping bindings over the 20 years of snowboarding. I've used everything from flows, gnu, SP, switch, K2 and a few more. So I know what's a good binding and what's not so good and I must say these things are very nice. So I don't understand how somebody's giving this a bad review. But maybe you should try them again. Because I don't really have any complaints. So whoever came up with this ingenious slide in or step in whatever you want to call it keep up the good work.

I really want to like these bindings but I can't. I've used then the last four weekends and am always very frustrated how difficult they are to step into if ANTHING isn't aligned just right. It's a great concept but not executed very well. For example you set the straps while sitting on the ground and then when you are on slipery snow and try to stick your foot in and if you don't get it in far enough, or your boot is out of alignment, it won't latch. Good luck trying it on any significant slope. I've had a couple Cinch rear entry bindings and my son has System rear entry bindings and we can strap in on the way up the lift. This isn't possible with these bindings. Even when you get off the lift you can't reliably step into them. This is my 31st year snowboarding and I'm pretty decent and never crash getting off the lift until these past four weekends and I crash most of the time because my boot isn't in and it's at an awkward angle. I'm selling them. Too bad, I really wanted to like them. On a plus site they seem to be built very well and are solid.

These are not designed for lightweight riders. My rider is 85 lbs and cannot engage the locking mechanism fully, resulting in the bindings opening while riding sometimes. Absolutely unsafe and unusable. Will never use them again, be warned. Riders need to weigh more to safely use them.

But if you have to be on a hill (gasp) and uneven surfaces (who knew) then these things 100% are awful. Practiced a week with them before hitting the mountain and made it through one day before switching out. Cannot say enough bad things about them.

I'm over 50 and started snowboarding last year. The one thing I figure out very quickly was that it was challenging for me to get into my bindings. Without being as flexible as I used to be, I always had to sit in the snow to strap in. Not only was this inconvenient, it was also tiring after doing it repeatedly. So I started researching step ins. I passed on the Burtons because they required their boots to work with their step on bindings and I prefer my Vans snowboarding boots. I also looked at the Clews but after seeing mixed reviews I came to the conclusion that they aren't as reliable and still may need to go through a few more versions before they get their product nailed down.
Then I came across the Nidecker Supermatics. What I love about these bindings is that you can use them as a step in or as a traditional binding. These things are amazing. It literally takes 2 seconds to get into these, and once you're in, you're not coming out. They feel exactly the same as a traditional strap in binding. To release the binding all you have to do is press down on a lever while applying pressure to the high back. But you can also just undo the straps the same way you would do on traditional bindings so you get the best of both worlds.
Before purchasing these I did a ton of research on you tube and all of the reviews were pretty much the same. These things are awesome and you won't be disappointed. One thing I will mention is that you need to get these adjusted properly in order for them to work the way they were designed to. If you have the connecting strap too tight you'll have issues getting into them. But once you figure out the correct setting for the straps, they work like a dream. If I could give this product a 10 star review I would, seriously. They're just that good and worth every penny.

To release the binding all you have to do is press down on a lever while applying pressure to the high back. But you can also just undo the straps the same way you would do on traditional bindings so you get the best of both worlds.
Before purchasing these I did a ton of research on you tube and all of the reviews were pretty much the same. These things are awesome and you won't be disappointed. One thing I will mention is that you need to get these adjusted properly in order for them to work the way they were designed to. If you have the connecting strap too tight you'll have issues getting into them. But once you figure out the correct setting for the straps, they work like a dream. If I could give this product a 10 star review I would, seriously. They're just that good and worth every penny.

Supermatic indeed, Super fantastic even. Snowboarding has been needing something like this for a long time. I used to ride Flows and this is an evolution of this concept and really takes it to the next level. Super easy set up and super easy to put on and take off. Time to hit the slopes... Catch me if you can with your strap ons!
