Солидная фирма, судя по упаковке и комплектации - положили ножки для вертикальной установки, инструкцию на бумаге и компакт диск с инструкцией, которая вообще-то на фиг не нужна, но тем не менее такая забота о пользователе приятна. - - Пока не вижу никаких недостатков

I purchased two of these switches. This is the AV model versus the standard switch of the same model number offered from Netgear. The difference is primarily the auto-QoS (Quality of Service) configuration that is built into the AV model.100-mbit switches are cheap and handle device and Internet connectivity without problem. If what you are doing is browsing the Internet and copying some DOC or MP3 files from laptop to desktop then any type of cheap switch should do the job for you. You're probably looking at a gigabit switch for a reason though. You want gigabit speeds because you have large media files that you store on a network attached storage (NAS) server with multiple devices accessing the content. If that's the case then this might be the switch for you. This switch will operate at close to gigabit speeds. I have seen over 700mbps transfer rates through this switch by copying large movies between systems. Take into consideration that when we start to achieve these speeds we must consider every component of the transfer to determine the maximum throughput. At gigabit speeds, a mechanical hard drive could become a bottleneck.The switch is plug and play. Connect the network cables, plug in the power, press the power toggle button and it's running. The connectivity lights on the front show the status. One nice feature is the lights on the front are dimmed relative to other switches. They won't light up an entire dark media room or draw attention. It uses some type of smoked plastic with lower power LEDs.The back of the switch has colored ports to indicate priority of the attached device. The switch will allow traffic from that port, based on the type of traffic it is, to trump trump traffic from lower priority ports. Therefore, I might allow my media server a higher priority than an XBox. This means if they were both reaching high throughput and the switch had to start making decisions on what to do with traffic it would allow the media server to achieve its objective. The switch also has settings to allow sensitive streams like streaming media to be prioritized over block level transfers. This is nice when someone is watching a move on a media center and someone else starts to copy a large file to/from one of the systems involved in theater experience. The switch will attempt to ensure that the movie is not interrupted by the file transfer.For QoS to work effectively, you need it to be configured at both ends of the network. This means if you have a living room media center and a NAS serving media in another room; you might want this switch to be deployed in both locations. You definitely want a gigabit switch in both locations but I'd recommend a QoS switch in both as well.Keep in mind, all of your network switches should be of the same speed throughout your network unless you know what you're doing. If you connect a fast ethernet switch to your NAS server and a gigabit switch to your media center PC then you're not going to get gigabit speeds between the two.This is an excellent price for this product and I would purchase it again.

I had what probably is becoming a common dilemma: how to connect 3 different A/V products to the internet. I have a modem which is connected to a router: this connects to 2 computers and one in-wall cat5e cable going to the media room. This was a great set-up when I bought a "smart" tv that needed an online connection. But then I ordered satellite tv that also needed an internet connection and a blu-ray player that ALSO needed to connect online. So how do I split a single cable connection among 3 items?One solution is go put everything to Wi-Fi, but that would have needed a wi-fi dongle for each product plus setting up my house for Wi-Fi, which I didn't want to do for security reasons. And by all accounts, a hard-wired internet connection is preferable for speed and reliability. My first thought was to attach another router to the cable in my media room, meaning I would have a modem going to the first router, than another router downstream to each product. After researching this option, it appears that is not a good option as the A/V products might have difficulty automatically assigning themselves to 2 routers, meaning I would have to attempt some sort of manual configuration that may or may not work. The best solution was to get a "hub", such as this one from Netgear, which was designed exactly for the purpose I needed. I bought the Netgear hub because I had a Netgear router so I figured they would play nice together.This hub works perfectly for me. My TV (an LG), the Satellite receiver (DirecTV) and the blu-ray player (Oppo) all find and connect to this hub automatically which made installation very easy. The hub also has the ability to prioritize the signals in case you want to ensure some items won't get interrupted by another request. I put the blu-ray first priority for streaming movies and the satellite receiver is last since this is used for programming updates or video-on-demand which doesn't matter if it gets a short interruption. Now I have 3 happy A/V products that can access the internet whenever they want. I would recommend this product for similar configurations.

I would have given this 5 stars if the remote had labels but with only a off/on and 4 input buttons easy to remember.This item made by Shin Kin of TW and their web site has the pronto code for a Harmony Remote and Logitec has this item in their database. The remote is so small it can be easily misplaced so I would recommend attaching a piece of Velcro to attach it to a nearby object.

So far it works good. I reviewed a number of different hubs before going with this unit. The price was good. Once I received it, I really liked the small size. The plastic does feel a little cheap, that's why I'm only giving it 4 stars. But, it shouldn't be much of an issue since I will be using it mostly as something I plug in and leave alone.

I bought this router so that I could have wired connections to a number of electronics. It traffics the internet connection wonderfully, but it's very difficult to see the tiny lights if you're not looking directly at the front of the unit (think 'eye level').

So far so good. It's fast and easy to setup. I use a number if stream services and it is pretty fast and reliable. Because its wireless I don't need to run cat 5 cable to my audio devices from my router which is in another room a good distance away.

Great addition to your HN, doesn't replace routers but its great for true speed @ locations like entertainment center, home offices with multiple PCs or just kids rooms who have a xbox, ps3, and a pc.

This is a good ethernet hub. However, As far as I can tell for gaming it does not perform any faster than any other ethernet hubs in its price range. As far as I can tell the only difference is the color coding ethernet inputs slots in the rear of the hub. But it does work so that is all I really need it for. If I had to do again, I might look for something on sale with the same or better speed. Color coding is really not a necessity.

This simple switch does have some QOS prioritization which is nice, I use it on my desk to split the ethernet connectivity with my TV, PS3 and computer. Haven't had any problems with it thus far.

The GS605 works great for what is does but, it's a RFI (Radio frequency Interference) generating hash box! If you need a switch for several computers in an RFI sensitive environment don't buy the GS605 it's just another chicom POS. This why I give the GS605 one star.

I had a dilemma I was facing; I had bought a Vizio Internet TV and a Samsung Blu-Ray player and have a TiVo, but I also have a good old dependable Linksys WRT54G router that I have been wary to replace based on the newer 'dummy-proof' antennaless models on the market because I have a pretty good 200 foot wireless range with it I don't want to give up until I truly I have to. I knew adding those other two devices would add more congestion to my network (which includes an iPhone I use often in the house), and the TiVo had an N adapter that ran too hot for my comfort and interfered with my secondary rabbit ears that I use to get a few more antenna channels.I was about ready to give up and switch out my G router for an N router when I came upon this and the light bulb went off. I could spend $90 to buy a router, re-set it up all over again, have to get a new strong wireless password and probably have to put on that vendor's useless crudware on my PC, all to get a few extra megabits. Or I could just run an ethernet cable I already had wound up in my basement (leftover from years ago before my sister moved out), run that to the room and connect it to this switch for only $30.I went with this option and I'm very pleased that I did. The switch is low profile, and it behaves exactly as it needs to, hooking the TV, TiVo and Blu-ray up at an average of 12 megabits p/s (I'm on an 18 Mb cable connection but 12 is still more than enough). Since it's in a bedroom I did cover the lights with electrical tape, but beyond that this has done exactly what I wanted it to do; extend my router's life for another year or two and give a stable connection to my bedroom entertainment system so I can Netflix and Hulu to my heart's content, and hook up my laptop to the ethernet in case I need a little more speed than I usually get over wi-fi. Also, I can use my antenna again without having the TiVo on the N adapter. I'm glad I got this, and would get it again if I have to expand my network further.

I got the 'v2' version (GS605 v2) of this switch to put into my relatively complicated home network. I have homeplug adapters between floors, my NAT box and a media center upstairs, and several PC's and an XBox 360 downstairs, as well as a windows home server I move between upstairs and downstairs.I used this switch to connect the downstairs devices together, including the homeplug bridge.This switch is very reliable and works quite well. I put a lot of data through it when the windows home server is downstairs, as I hook it up downstairs to either do full machine backups (many gigabytes) or to transfer my home movie collection to another machine downstairs (tens to hundreds of gigabytes). Many network switches get confused by sustained heavy loads, but I never had this problem with this netgear switch.Pro:- looks nice- optional foot stand lets you stand it on end, or have it horizontal- very reliable for sustained high loads (at least for a home environment)Con:- None relevant.Thanks to this switch and one of their home routers, Netgear is now on my list of 'trusted' home network equipment to buy!
