Not impressed. To me it is just the same as the Ace series. Only a few differences, not enough to account for the price.

This detector has obviously been designed to compete with the intro level detectors like the Garrett Ace machines. I have owned an Ace 250 for years. I found the Vanquish 540 to run quiter and ID targets more accurately and deeper than my 250. The Noise cancelling on the 540 is amazing. It runs very quiet on salt water beaches. I have to turn the sensitivity way down on my 250 to make it usable in salty wet sand. I have found coins as deep as 8 inches in wet beach sand with the 540. I can't get close to that with my 250. The only thing that would be nice to have on the 540 is the ability to use the individual single frequencies like I can on my Equinox.
