This is the bets for PC playing. cant wait to break this out when crysis 2 comes out and mess around with sandbox3 with this controller! to bad the consoles arent getting sandbox3, it makes the game 1000x more awesome than it already is, in other words- BEST. GAME. EVAR.

Simple! The controller works excellent and I play PC games with it and it works amazingly great, playability with it is flawless and it was extemely easy to install/configure... Reason for not giving it 5 *****, PACKAGING!!!!!I do not know if Amazon was the one who packaged the controller, but I do not think they could have been cheaper and more careless about the cardborad box they put it in!!!! The box was absolutely not able to close with the controller inside, so pretty much what they did was to fold the top of the box by force over the controller and quickly and awfully tape around it so it would hold!!!! Not only the box was semi-opened because it didn't fit the controller inside but to pack something, ANYTHING in this way can potentially put the quality and safeness of the product at risk!!! I really wanted to give it 3 *** but the controller is so good and actually affordable that it would be unfair to give it less than 4 ****!!!! Again, controller-AWESOME vs shipping/package-AWFUL!!! Amazon should start caring more about how they ship their products, it's not fair that customers who make them super rich can get a slap in the face like this...Anyways, enjoy the controller!!!!!

A great controller, it maps out perfectly to every game I have. This controller turned a fast computer into a gaming good machine. Now I can waste more time at this computer than I ever thought possible and have a good time doing it. The controller works great with Ubisoft and Bethesda Softworks products. I could't imagine playing HAWX without it, or Raibox Six Vegas Two or any game. The trick is to buy either a really high quality game or at least games with the "Games for Windows" label, then you are assured of a uniform interface.This controller makes PC game playing really fun and the Xbox 360 controller is the standard for game playing. I used to use another controller, but this one is really nice. My Xbox friends come over and play is pretty much the same, well, my graphics card is better and sound comes through my real sound system, video is taken by my large, hi-def monitor. A great buy.

I switch out this controller between my Xbox and PC. I use OnLive service on my PC and with the drivers: almost every OnLive game supports this controller. OnLive has gone a step further matching up the buttons with on colored onscreen icons just like you were playing the game with an Xbox.

HiThis is currently the best controller for PC. Several games, comes pre-configured for it. Here in Brazil is very expensive, but Amazon was worth buying.

Perfect,..except its not compatible with some FPS games, but who wants to play FPS games with a controller. Mouse and Keyboard is best for them.

I really love this controller. The spacing of the buttons and sticks feels just right for my hands. That being said, I would warn you that it is a battle in itself to get it to work with anything. Of all my games with native gamepad support, only Halo could get the controller to work right away. The recurring problem that I expierenced was that games would recognize the trigger axis and think that it is the right thumbstick. If you want the vibrate function to work, you will need either Xpadder or the XBCD driver; both are free, but frustrating to set up. I had a very difficult time getting XBCD to work on my Vista machine, but it works easily on XP. Microsoft should have thought ahead and released a profiler with their controller.If I had known about all trouble it is to set up this controller, I still would get it because the gameplay experience is greatly expanded. Feeling the controller rumble while stomping a Sniffer in Silent Hill 4: The Room or feeling the character's heart beat faster and faster in Indigo Prophecy draws me into the game much more than with the keyboard and mouse.This controller is great, and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a gamepad. You might have to go online for help, but it's worth it. If you are going to get a 360 controller, I recommend buying the regular one, not the one for Windows. It costs a few dollars less, and they are the exact same thing, the CD notwithstanding, and you can download the exact same drivers from Microsoft.com. Also, if you choose to use the XBCD drivers, you will not even use the drivers that come on the CD.

I tested 3-4 other controllers before finally sticking with this one.The Xbox 360 controller for the PC is basically an Xbox 360 controller with an adapter on the end of the cable so you can use it on a USB port on your PC.The controller fits nicely in your hands (mine are small/medium hands). All of the buttons/controls are easy to reach and fairly well constructed. After about six months of moderate abuse, one of the trigger buttons on the front of the controller cracked at its pivot point. Of course, this was AFTER the paltry 90-day warranty from MS, so I had to look on a popular auction site to buy a used/broken controller to part-out to repair my otherwise good controller.The included software doesn't allow you to set dead zones or sensitivity, but there is a freeware piece of software out on the Internet (DXTweak2) that will allow you to make minimal adjustments. I wish MS had put the time into releasing the software that came with its joysticks that would allow full adjustment and profile saves for each game. The included driver software does have the annoying habit of lighting up one of the four quadrants on the face of the controller to indicate which quarter of the screen you are controlling. This seems to be a holdover from the actual Xbox 360 and serves no purpose on the PC other than to annoy you in a dim/darkened room at night.

I bought this to use as a 2nd controller, and now it is my primary. It's wired so you know that any potential interference is cut out of the equation, and you don't have to replace the batteries in the standard controller or buy the play and charge kit that should have been included with the console anyway. (especially the 360 Elite which I bought, you would think for $450 they would include a rechargable battery pack and the ability to play wired)That being said, the xbox360 controller is the best I've ever used for a console/computer/anything. Being a usb device it is usable on my pc as well as the 360, which is a very logical thing for Microsoft to have done. I used to own an original Xbox and has to buy a converter box for the computer to play pc games with the controller, this however, is so much easier and logical that you wonder why they didn't do it in the first place. The answer to that question seems rather simple though, Microsoft obviously was catering to the PC gamepad industry (which they themselves are a part of) and decided it to be in their best interest to make the old Xbox controllers proprietary so to not hurt sales of PC only gamepads. I'm glad they changed their stance on that, and did so at the same time as releasing this awesome controller. Rockstallion.

Our other controller didn't have enough buttons for the Legos Indiana Jones for PC so I bought this one and it works flawlessly with the game.

Since I usually play games alone or co-op on Xbox live, I hardly ever need an extra controller, but those times do arise. I didn't want to shell out $50 on a wireless Xbox controller, then buy another battery pack for $12 - so I just picked this up from Amazon for $40. The cord is plenty long enough and the controller works flawlessly with the 360. I haven't tried it with my computer, but if you think about it, this controller and it's wireless counterpart are better deals then the 360 ones as if you ever wanted to use it for a computer it plugs right in. Great deal!

Seems to work with games that will support other gamepads. I have Vista 64 and Microsoft has drivers for it on their website.THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH SOUND - PLUG IT IN AND I LOST SOUND IN MY SPEAKERS (my mobo is a Gigabyte DS3)No support anywhere on the microsoft website or internet on this, and I saw a frazzled previous reviewer... so here's the fix:The controller has an integrated headset feature (you can buy seperately), but your pc may (like mine did) see the controller as a Controller AND a "headset." It automatically enabled the "headset" (thus disabling my speakers).Go to Control Panel > SoundYou'll see it as a microsoft headset device enabled -- disable this "headset". Then your speakers should come back on. This does not interfere with the joystick at all.Enjoy!

Everything about the great feel/design is true. This thing molds to your hand, is the right weight, and just feels right.Even my wife, who is not into gaming was able to pick it up and use it right away. Great for emulation, the sticks work great, buttons feel solid.My 3 gripes however.1. I really would prefer 2 rows of 3 buttons across on the face of the controller, 6 buttons on the front. As it is designed, select & start count as 2 buttons (joy 9 & joy 10) with this controller. On an xbox, they are useful. On a PC, they are worthless to program into any game, and are throw away buttons.2. This controller does not work properly with Elder Scrolls Oblivion PC. Even after hours of tweaking, I was not able to make it control correctly. This is a dissapointment considering the game was released for xbox & pc simultaneously.3. The "force feedback" feature does not seem to work like normal force feedback. Games that advertise force feedback support do not give force feedback (rumble) on the pad. I have read several internet reviews of this controller, not one of them has described being successful in getting rumble to work. I think the rumble is very proprietary and only works in a very limited library of games. Forget trying to get it to rumble in your N64 emulation.I'm also a little bit irked that Microsoft is waiting until Q1 2007 to release the wireless version. C'mon, are we to believe that the thing isnt ready yet? ITS ALREADY working on xbox360. In my mind, it is just the evil empire wanting you to shell out 40 bucks now, then buy the 50 buck version later when you are tired of the wire. 90 bux in the end for a controller eh. . .

I bought this controller for the primary purpose of using it to play Final Fantasy XI on the PC. I play the Xbox 360 version and it once I started using the PC version, I decided I'd like to have standardized controllers. Makes perfect sense to me that it would just, I dunno, work. But it does not. First, the controller is not supported directly, so you have to reconfigure the game to use it. Fine, but even then it's just...not...right. It's sluggish and slow, you can't use the trigger buttons to access the macro menus, and essentially does not work. At least it's not worth my trouble. So if you're buying this controller for that game, skip it--until Square gets their act together or Microsoft does (frankly, I'm not sure who to blame here). Note: the controller itself is flawless; it works just fine on my Xbox.

Works great! No complaints on the controller, however, be aware that the controller only works with Windows XP (and possibly newer versions of Windows)

This is the best possible controller for the PC that I have found thus far. I have tried many controllers that are similar to the PS2 design, but they all lacked decent button recoiling, easy to push buttons, and slimness. All other controllers I have tried are too bulky and after ~30 mins. my hand begins to get tired. I have played one game with it so far (Winning Eleven 9) and it works perfectly. No lag, comfortable feel, and the buttons are easy to use especially for a fast sports game like soccer. Obviously, if you've used the wired regular XBOX 360 controller you know this is the same thing with different packaging (and an install CD). I highly recommend it!

The Xbox 360 controller is just wonderful, the best console controller I've ever held in fact.Be aware of the fact that this is the EXACT same product as the wired 360 console controller, so if that one is cheaper, buy it! The only difference is the package (this one is uglier...) and you don't get the software CD...but you can download the latest software package at MS website.Microsoft making this controller cross compatible is actually a pretty big deal as there may finally be a level of standardization for PC controllers, if most people begin using this controller is makes it far easier on game developers to know what interface gamers are using. In fact, many games are coming with a 360 control scheme pre-installed, just as Need For Speed Most Wanted.
