The main complaint I have with this one is it is hard to connect to laptops it is a delicate balancing act with the camera falling off a lot.

This camera is perfect for video conferencing and especially for use with Yahoo messenger. With nothing to install, it worked right away and the microphone is excellent. I highly recommend this little camera for those who want something simple and of good quality.

This is a good cam for everyday video-chatting on messengers like Skype. I have a Win 7 machine. I plugged the cam it and it took about 2 minutes to automatically install the drivers. When I tried it on Skype, the capture was fairly good. Captures light in a low-light situation pretty well, although fast movements tend to appear a little blurred. The camera allows up-down movement and side-side movements.Overall, a good purchase.

This is my first Webcam. I read the other reviews and was a little concerned about the installation. Literally, all I had to do was plug it in. The driver is automatically downloaded. The only difficult thing was trying to figure out what program starts it. The program is Microsoft Silverlight. I don't see that information on any of the packaging. All the installation advice you get is on the outside of the package that says "plug and play." I was just looking for a basic cheap model in which to skype. The picture is adequate. I think it's a nice model to start with. I have not yet tried it with skype to see how the microphone works.

I purchased this product and have been pleased with it. It takes great web cam pics. When useing on skyp, picture is clear and true to life. the mic sounds good as well.

My grandson has this Microsoft Web camera and told me how much he liked it so I bought it to use when I Skype. It's been great and I like the fact that it is small and portable. My family is at my fingertips and I look forward to our daily visits thought we are many miles apart.

If you are looking for an easy basic Web Cam this is it. My sisters got me one for my birthday and I loved it! I bought 2 for my boy friend and his family also. If you are looking for something simple that gets the job done, this is it. It works with all web chat software that I've tried (Oovoo & Skype).

If you just need a basic webcam for video calling, this is probably the best one for most user's needs. The best thing about this webcam is you don't need to install any extra driver software like you have to do with almost all other webcams. The worst thing is that you'll need at least an XP SP2 or later otherwise you're SOL as there's no driver software available for this webcam period (also look elsewhere if you use a Mac). This webcam employs the "hook and hang" method of mounting onto your screen so don't be moving your notebook around while using the webcam. :p Picture quality obviously isn't the best but it'll give you the most painless installation of any other webcam.

Received my webcam from H&P electronics today. Read the one page in the manualhow to use it and plugged it in. But my computer could not install it w/o the drivers. So googled and found the drivers from Microsoft. Except MS had none forthe VX-800. Tried VX-1000. Downloaded and ran into an SP2 problem. The drivers somehow require SP2 to function. So located a non MS website and tried and older version. Same thing needs SP2 to work.Unfortunately years ago I found my Compaq 2135us Presario was not friendly with SP2. The wifi card would not work with it. So since then have not installed anything beyond SP2 or SP2, once I removed it. The description for the camera on Amazon does not mention the need for SP2 to operate the camera.Therefore I'm returning the camera for a refund. The outside package forthe camera torn a little in opening. The complex box shape almost makesthat a certainty.
