I got the Denon I think in October of last year and have had the ND8006 since about mid 2018. Before the Denon, I was using the Marantz SA8005 for SACD playback. Firstly, the Denon is extremely impressive and bested the SA8005 in every area save for tone quality (presumably because of the HDAMs in the SA8005). The Denon has great clarity/separation and really impressively low jitter, and features very neutral leaning tone quality and very natural/uncolored sound. Compared to the 30N, its highs are slightly brighter, sharper, and more lively, i.e. have just a tad more 'bite', where as the 30N's highs are slightly rolled off (though there is still plenty of treble). But the 30N has equally good clarity/separation/balance and impressively low jitter also, but where it shines and bests the Denon -- IMO at least -- is in its great tone quality due to level 3 HDAMs it has in its output stage. Its sound has an addictive listening quality where I don't want to stop listening to it, even after hours of listening. It's very special in that sense.
While the ND8006 is very good sounding (maybe excellent sounding even), the 30N is better in every way. It's hard to describe the difference, but in a nutshell, the sound of the 30N is a bit tighter and truer sounding with better clarity/separation and with lower jitter and better tonality in the sense that it is a little less 'colored' and more natural sounding than the ND8006.
The SACD playback of the 30N is superb. The discs load fairly quickly and the drive mechanism is impressively smooth and quiet (quieter than the Denon which was respectably quiet and smooth). There is a really low noise floor and quiet background from the players output also. The MMM also works really well, and I hear absolutely no loss or degradation of conversion of 64x DSD from SACDs to 256x to be sent to the DAC. It works really well, and has every bit of that raw, open, analog-like sound you get from a really good SACD. The same can be said for hi-rez PCM files, which also the MMM does an excellent job with. The MMM (Marantz Musical Mastering) really does seem to be a great and logical system, and Marantz's implementation of keeping all conversion/upsampling in the same sample rate family, with two separate clocks, is definitely the right way to do it.
I was somewhat hesitant about the MMM in the Marantz, but I realized it works based on upsampling -- not downsampling. With upsampling, especially in the same sample rate 'family' as MMM does, it should not induce/cause any degradation to DSD 64x or 128x sources. Or PCM sources (of either 44.1Khz or 48Khz multiples). And indeed based on what I'm hearing, there is no problem at all. Degradation issues arise when downsampling or converting from one sample rate 'family' to another, and that has all been purposefully avoided here with MMM. So if anyone is concerned about that as I was, they should not be. Now, I have not heard the SA-10 or the SA-KI, which also use MMM, so I can't compare the 30N to either (to see if their implementation is better or about the same), but I'm as particular and sensitive to these kinds of subtle sonic issues as anyone and can confidently say there is no issue with it and it works really well.
The USB flash drive input (located on the rear of the unit) works very well, and has the same screen, text and user interface as the ND8006. The input also accepts drives formatted with NTFS (something the ND8006 does not feature). The screen is fairly large, as is the text making it easy to read. The operation is fairly smooth and flawless, provided you don't try to give it too many commands before it has finished processing previous commands. But once you get the feel for how quickly it finishes responding to each command and when you can move to the next command, as with the ND8006, it works very nicely. The sound is excellent, but I did find sonic (and operational speed) differences between the drives I used on the ND8006. So that probably applies to the 30N also (I'm using the same drive I was last using on the ND8006 and haven't used/tried any others on it yet).
The 30N also allows hi-rez file playback burned on to DVD-R discs, which also works very well, but the same files played back burned to DVD or via the USB input sounded the same to my ears. Even with the files burned to a DVD-R disc, the screen read out still gives the full text, etc. just the same, which is nice.
The remote control it comes with is also really nice and of high quality. It's made of or at least has a metal base and is really solidly built (and has some heft and weight to it). The button layout is virtually the same as the ND8006, but the buttons are firmer and of higher quality. The remote also has a disc tray open/close button, which neither the SA8005, ND8006 or Denon DCD-1600NE have (a major negative of those players, IMO).
The build quality of the unit is really excellent, and weighing in at just over 30lbs it's impressive and solid. The look of the front face plate is somewhat untraditional, but I think it looks just fine. I have no complaints with how it looks (I have the black colored one). The back RCA jacks for the fixed and variable output look to be exactly the same (with the same spacing) as those on the ND8006, which are a very high quality dark gold plated brass (presumably), for the fixed output at least. The jacks for the fixed output are larger, stick out a bit further and appear to be of of higher quality (I have mine hooked up using the 'fixed' jacks as I did with the ND8006). One knock on the Denon was I thought the RCA jacks should have been higher quality for the unit's price point. They appear to be the same ones they use on their lower end models. They function fine though, and them being somewhat lower quality may or may not affect the sound quality.
Overall, and most importantly, this thing sounds exceptionally good. It has that intangible 'magic' to the tonality, balance, clarity, etc. that makes you not want to stop listening. Operationally it works very well too (for the features I've used). Marantz really hit it out of the park with this unit.

The system has initial problem when used as a upnp rendering device, using for example foobar2000 from win10. It only worked the 1st time before the system did a firmware update, after that, music becomes huge white noise.
Then later found some digital music in usb drive cannot be played, even they are supported format and can be played by other digital players.
Worse, after 5 months of occasional uses, the system starts to hang during playing and the control app lost the connection to the device, had to cycle the power from time to time.
Finally, it stopped working a week ago, only 6 months after purchasing. After multiple calls with supports and days waiting, I was told I will have to send the system back to the Marantz service center to chceck, at my own trouble and cost! Very disappointed.

I don't like long reviews, so I will end with a very high recommendation, if you still love the shiny disc.
