 I do a lot of videos for 3-D printing, and I have never been happy with the sound. It's a difficult environment due to ambient noise created by the machines. I decided to get a studio quality mic and based on price and other factors chose this one. When I opened it I was surprised that he didn't have a preamp or power supply. It simply connected with a USB A connector. I was very disheartened at first. However, I decided to try his sincerity had it and I was absolutely amazed at the sound quality. I included a little sound clip here to give you an idea. The mic itself is extremely well constructed, and has quite a heft to it. The mount isolates it from vibration on the table and allows it to be positioned wherever it's needed. You can monitor the sound by plugging a headset directly into the mic, which gives you a good idea of what's actually being recorded in real time. There is also a switch to turn the microphone on and off right on the mic. As it on to gaming, I didn't rate that feature. But if you want a relatively inexpensive studio quality microphone with absolutely fantastic sound and minimal trouble to set up, this is your thing.

 I am an avid gamer and YouTuber. I bought this mic especially because of its touch panel which has microphone gain knob and mute/unmute. You can also directly connect your headphones out of the mic which was a huge value addition. This microphone I bought after I had a recent bad experience with the different mic which stopped working in days.
But this mic quality is high and the metal arm is strong. The touch mute key changes to green/red color and tells you the status of the mic. I recorded a couple of videos with this mic and audio quality was awesome. I only wish if they have a small mobile stand so I can take this microphone anywhere I go. Overall good quality microphone.

The mic works, the housing is well made, and the pop filter is nice. I'm pretty underwhelmed with the armature, which doesn't actually hold the mic securely in any useful position. And the USB-B cable that came with my system is clearly defective- it doesn't secure properly when plugged into the port on my computer and tends to disconnect briefly if bumped. Occasionally, I get a high pitched background squeal, which I suspect is also a result of the poor connection. All in all... I think it's an OK mic, but since the armature is trash I probably could have done just as well with a Snowball mic or something similar and it doesn't feel like the deal other people are describing (also, I got rid of all my USB-B cables years ago... so I'll need to buy a replacement).

This is a great addition for anyone who does meetings, live streaming and online gaming on the computer. The mic can get really close to you, without getting in the way or taking up valuable desktop space where it counts. It mounds to your desk with a very sturdy clamp that you can tighten, so it fits just about any normal sized desk. The whole frame is metal, with the arms able to swivel and bend to get the mic towards you at the perfect angle. I really appreciate the quality and craftsmanship of the frame, as this is something that I move around a lot, depending on what I'm doing that day. I like that the connection points are metal, and that the base for the microphone is suspended by some thick elastic. This is so any sudden jarring of the microphone would not cause too much of a sudden movement and introduce unwanted noise/effects. The mic itself is solid and built with the same quality. I chose this model because its not too expensive, but also because the microphone has a level knob, so you can control the sound input level. There is also a headphone jack that I use to monitor what I'm saying to ensure it comes out exactly how it was intended. There is also a mute switch thats lit to indicate mute or not mute. This is important as I don't always want others to hear everything from my side. The wind blocker is a great addition, but if its too much, the mic also has a foam cover that you can slip over it. So far, I'm pretty happy with this. Everyone that I've chatted with online have been able to hear me crystal clear, with no distortion. If anyone says I'm a little low, I just crank up the level input knob. Its so easy to use and connects via USB connection. It also looks great, and gives me "gamer" street cred :)

I wanted so bad to love this microphone. It has A LOT of pros. VERY WELL CONSTRUCTED. Downright beautiful design. I actually like the shock mount and boom arm. Great for many uses. Not top notch but perfectly usable. teh touch mute is AWESOME because I hate the click sounds of mechanical mute buttons. It has a very healthy gain knob so you will have no problem getting enough sound. The microphone itself sounds GREAT BUT there are TWO very huge downsides to this mic. I hope Maono addresses these because this mic is ALMOST perfect.

Cons:
Although the mic is rated at 74 db signal to noise ratio, the pre-amp in this puppy is NOT good. which means your recordings are going to have a LOT of noise. You CAN NOT record with this thing unless you use a noise filter. I have to use two just to get it cleaned out. Had a client complain, YUCK.

The mic is VERY ringy. If you tap on the mic it will ring two separate pitches for about 1/3 of a second. What that means is then when you speak or sing in the mic and hit one of those pitches, the mic will ring. Now you may not notice it right away but its there. You have to ring it out with a parametric EQ. Add a PEQ with an analyzer and tap the mic. you will see which frequencies you need to notch out, then it will sound better.

So in conclusion this mic CAN sound great if you make some tweaks. but you need to do some post work. The problem is once you buy a good filter plugin like RX Elements or Waves NS1 (which are the ones I use to clean it up) you could have spent more on a better mic. But on the other hand, you really should have those plugins anyway if you do VO work. BUT, I still do like this mic and It is great for a travel and rough vocal demos and good for zoom calls.

Alright i would like to get this clear before anything im making this review on behalf of my dad since i was the one who he got it for that way there is no hiccups and confusion why i type things i do lol. Anyways when my dad bought this mic for me i lost my blue yeti and didn't have a great budget then i stumbled upon this mic and it was a great price and had good review's at the time and when i plugged it in and everything i was surprised when i got it set up it sounded way better than i was expecting. I use it to stream on my twitch and for the future maybe even a YouTube video with a proper review it deserves cause honestly i cant believe this. But there is a downside to the mic i feel like the mic button is a little out of place cause if i barely touch it would end up muting itself. Not to get it wrong i like it but i enjoy the tactile click to let me know i muted it i still like the color light indicator on it so yeah.

Now we are gonna go onto a small little wish i would like to see one day come to life cause i think you all have the best potential to make it happen and if it happens i would love to review it and use it a ton. I would love to see you all make a xlr mic bundle with a interface with a arm bundle and stuff like this cause i would love to see what you all can do xlr mic wise and i think you would kill in this department if you do it just right. If it ever happens i would be overjoyed to be completely honest cause i have been non stop recommending this mic bundle to my friends if they have a budget like i did. So honestly in the entirety of it all i enjoyed the product i have had no issues with it or anything and again seriously i honestly think you all should attempt a xlr mic bundle next and everything i know im repeating myself but i honestly would like to see this and i would definitely get it for my twitch and youtube videos to use even though im a bit of a boring person but anyways thanks for making this wonderful bundle 10/10 would get it it again also you all stay amazing over there. - Sincerely, TheBadoodlerTV

To be honest I have barely tried the mic, because for the last hour I have been trying to assemble the arm, which is a piece of trash. The adapter that connects the microphone holder to the arm DOES NOT tighten and remains wobbly and loose and could very easily lead to your mic falling and being damaged. The instruction with the mic are a complete joke and there is no help on websites. The microphone works and the sound is ok from what I can tell, but even for a $100 mic I expected a lot better. DO NOT buy this if you think it will be simple and easy. You will be frustrated and want to throw the arm out a window and run it over repeatedly with a car.

This mic, as advertised, is a multi use mic (gaming, pod cast, YouTube, etc) I purchased it to use for making a Pod Cast. I have tried several test recordings and the sound quality is very good. I especially like the windscreen to keep the "pops" out of the recording. Since it works well for my purpose, it should work very well for gaming also. The build quality is excellent. The mic is pretty heavy and the stand is very nice as well. I also purchased a slightly cheaper microphone for my son's computer and the sound quality on this microphone is far more superior.

It is important for me to look into a great sounding mic with the ability to use this with my adjustable desk. A shock mount is also important to me. To have everything bundled in one package was a great find at an affordable price. I'm extremely happy with the MAONO AU-PM422.

My Picky Requirements: I wanted a microphone with great tonal quality (mid tenor toward the bass side), with a shock mount (since I'm typing on my keyboard taking notes), with the ability to monitor live sessions through my wired headphones (in online teaching you need to hear your students without disturbing the entire household), to have an adjustable boom arm to elevate or lower with my adjustable desk, and to have quality at a very affordable price (hey, I'm a teacher and I need stay out of poverty).

First the set up: This is relatively easy. I chose a spot on the regular desk and the mount is tightened securely. I read reviews on similar adjustable boom arms about being stiff (this boom arm is no exception) with the possibility of bending and used a silicone lubricant in all the joints except the thumb knob tighteners. Mounted the shock mount on the arm, and then screwed on the mic to the shock mount (Hint: the textured knob is the bottom and simply put the mic in on the top, then screw it in). The supplied USB cable plugged into my Macbook Pro and it was discovered right away. I love the touch mute button on the mic and it's silent without any sharp clicking on and off sound. The mic output gain is almost at max.

Now the Results: The reason why one needs a good microphone is so you don't sound like you are underwater and you need to be heard clearly. I'm using this primarily for online teaching and recording voice memos for my students. During the online class session, I asked my students how was my voice? Students picked it up right away that something was different and wondered if I was in a studio. I listened to the playback and BOY, WAS I GOOD! Then I made a number of voice memos and listened carefully. The voice quality is 100%+ better than using the microphones in the earbuds or my Sony wireless headphone.

Bottom Line: This bundle is well worth the money and it is a great value. The all-in-one package comes right out of the box, plug and play. The mic seems solidly built although the boom arm needed a little lubrication. The shock mount is metal and fits the mic perfectly. The sound quality is excellent (I don't know technical data but I know what sounds good). I would give this a letter grade of A. Sound good and be happy.

I bought this thinking it was a good mic based on reviews. I can now see i was way wrong. The mic worked great for about 4 months. I used it last night just fine then went to stream today and it was just not working. I tried everything from unplugging and plugging back in, to restarting my computer, and everything in between. Nothing seemed to work. It appears that something inside the mic is broken. Keep in mind i set it up on my desk and it has not moved from its location so it blew out on its own essentially. I have tried to contact them on their website but the support ticket will not process and amazon wont do anything about it. Save your money and but a decent mic. This is not worth it at all.

I was using this setup on a windows 10 desktop. When I monitored the Mic through windows it had a very weak sound at full gain. When I direct monitored the Mic it had great pickup and sound.(Like really good) It might be my platform or config that is the issue. This might work great for someone. Unfortunately windows 10 sucks with USB Mics. I switched to a XLR setup and mixer and my issues were solved. Could be a great product. NOT TOO SURE

Compared to other Microphones I’ve bought in the past, this has to be one of best. Not only did it quickly and easily connect with my Mac, it sounds amazing. Currently using this for recording dialogue, and the sound quality is great. Not only is it pretty stylish, the touch interface to power it on and off is a great feature. No struggling to mute myself if I need to cough or say something off mic. I can’t recommend this mic more.

Mic is solid with good sound. You can plug your headset directly into mic for zero latency. Gain control. USB cord plugs straight into bottom which may be courting disaster. People on the "other side" sometimes complain that I'm too quiet but that may be a function of the computer settings. There is no easy way to wrap the cord around the arm. Shock mount is genuinely worthless; just for show. (which may come in handy with a client someday to prove I'm a "pro"). Plastic tighteners on the arm may break someday but holding up OK, mic occasionally droops and I'm afraid to tighten them too much. Not bad overall for less than $100. (comes with pop filter not shown).

 I think this product is great because the price is perfect for anyone on a budget, When I was looking for a microphone to get back into streaming I looked all around and just couldn't seem to find anything I liked and then I stumbled upon Maono and I looked up some videos of audio tests and I chose to go ahead and purchase to give it a shot, I can say that doing so was the best choice that I have made because for what I paid I have gotten so much quality from this product and it feels great to have finally found a product that holds quality compared to it's price. I've also attached a short little unboxing/audio test with my review.

I'm using for communication with my online friends and work. So far the feedback were great, my voice is nice and clear. However, I wish that the boom a bit longer maybe 6 to 8 inches in length as it'd be closer to me, so I don't have to raise my voice to compensate for the distance. Right now it's about 18 inches away from me. And the mount hardware is behind my monitor as it's the only way it fits in my situation; hence the boom can be longer. So now I'm in search of a longer boom.

The mic is highly recommended though. All other accessories are great and decent quality for the money.

I really like my mic. Works well. I stream and others can hear me without any problems. I get asked a lot in my stream what kind of mic I have, so that makes me feel good that mic is holding up in quality.

This is an amazing value for the money. Most importantly it makes my voice sound fantastic. You know how most people don't like the sound of their own voice? Not with his mic. It gives my voice a nice rich and deep and balanced. sound.
The quality is obvious the moment you unpack it. Every component has a fished feel that is exceptional for a product that costs so little. It goes together quickly and easily. You're up and running in minutes.
One feature that is really handy is that you can plug your headphones directly into the mic which eliminates lag.
No regrets for this purchase at all.

I've purchased a MAONO AU-A04 at the start of this year and had no problems until the mic started cutting out on me since I like the quality of the Maono mic I decided to get the MAONO AU-PM422 while setting it up and the same spot
started to attach the arm and it just came apart didn't even make a snap sound but the mic overall is the same audio quality as the au-ao4 just that happened to run into that issue

edit: after contacting them they offered to replace the damaged and then some

I want a mic that didn't take space from my work space. Only use it to dictate and communicate with the computer. It clearly picks up my voice from several feet away. The small desk microphones I have used in the past required me to be within a few inches for the voice to be understood. The cost of approximately $20.00 more that the desk mic is well worth the money.

I have been using it for the past few weeks. I have never owned a microphone like this, so I have nothing to compare it to aside from a gaming headset. All of my friends said my voice is very clear and this mic does not pick up background noise like my headsets. The frame though....it's in the way almost all the time. It could just be the way I have my set up, so I will still give the item five starts, but make sure you have everything set up because the arm on this thing is huge and it can only retract so much.

Sound quality from this mic is nice. Compared to the Maono AU-A04, it's a little less bassy and a little more tinny from the raw audio I captured on Audacity. From my experience, to get sufficient volume you'd need the gain knob set to about 75%-80%, which kind of defeated the purpose for me if you could only adjust it so much before it becomes unusable. Additionally, the headphone jack may be okay for headphones (I didn't actually test it out with headphones) just so you can have a real time feed, but if you want that 3.5mm jack to plug directly into a DSLR then forget about it. When I tried to plug my Nikon D5300 to it, the sound quality was SIGNFICANTLY worse than the raw audio you'd get from plugging it into the computer. It was much more tinny, lacked all bass, and basically just sounded like a $10 headset. However, overall it's still relatively good, but for the price I think the AU-A04 is a better deal unless you absolutely NEED the gain knob and headphone jack.

Hands down the best mic kit in its price point. The sound quality is crystal clear. The touch mute button is amazing. The volume control knob is sturdy, and feels good to turn. There is a headphone jack in the mic, which any game streamer should have. The boom arm is ok... you have to tighten the crap out of it, and the mic still sags it a bit. It’s pretty much a free item though, so still worth it.

I have no regrets so far.

Overall this USB microphone is amazing. It's able to handle loud and quiet very well and with the gain adjustment you can work well in most environments. The zero latency audio jack built in makes recording easy so you can listen while you record.

Sound quality is crisp and clear, boom stand is sturdy, pop filter is great.

My only complaint about this is the shock mount. The shock mount's design is flawed and should be rethought. It's entire purpose is to reduce the noise of tiny bumps and vibrations of the workspace. BUT for some reason you can hear the vibration of the shock mount itself if you record louder stuff. If the shock mount is rethought, then it would easily be perfect in every way.
