Been waiting for a webcam that is designed for small group as well as individual conferencing, and this is it! Has several key features that are absolutely unique at this price point, and the quality of hardware, audio and video is top notch.Key points:+ Pans, Tilts and (digitally) Zooms for easy adjustment of image during conference.+ PTZ function is via wireless remote, NOT software, which is a huge plus! Nobody wants to be fooling around with software for a camera while conferencing! The remote puts this function right where it belongs, in a purpose-built unit that is super simple and quick to use.+ HD images are excellent, with great ability to adjust to ambient light automatically.+ Audio sending and receiving quality are remarkable. Speakers are crystal clear on reception, and easily fill a large conference room without distortion.+ Driver-free operation! Plug it in and go!+ Compatibility with Microsoft Lync was excellent. Just had to choose the Logitech as my source camera.+ Raising camera on stalk makes for more normal viewing angles for folks around a conference table.+ Dual power options - USB or AC adapter+ The digital zoom quality is pretty good, given that you're essentially cropping the image.Improvement areas/wish fors...* Charging port on camera should be standard USB mini or micro, NOT barrel type, so that other power sources could more easily be used to power the camera, e.g., an external battery or any of the millions of USB chargers folks have laying around.* Camera cannot be operated until connected to computer, even though the AC power is connected. Can now confirm simple, plug and play operation on range of both Windows and Mac laptops. I just leave this sitting out in our team room, and folks have no trouble connecting and using it for group conferences. The remote is not only intuitive, but kinda fun to play with as well!

I work in IT for an engineering company that relies heavily on conferencing for a lot of our business. However, we've run into several instances lately where we have been asked "Why don't you guys have video?" Our answer has always been that we just can't afford the telepresence systems we'd love to have. Now that Logitech has released this conference camera, we finally can afford it!Through testing we found many upsides, but also a few downsides. The video seems choppy sometimes, and it definitely can have exposure problems when the user is sitting near a bright light or window. However, the speakerphone and microphone has seemed extremely clear, and we've received good feedback from other conference attendees. I've organized a table below to reflect the pro's and con's.***PROS***-Price (compared to comparable products)-Features a remote (no more reaching for the camera to move it!!)-Speakerphone is loud & clear-Can be powered by USB (this saved us tons of crawling under the tables- my knees will be thanking me when I'm in my 70's!)***CONS***-Video sometimes choppy (this is probably an internet speed thing, too)-Exposure is easy to blow out (you can't really sit by a window and expect it to work, but this wasn't a problem in our conference room)-Pan & Tilt is very choppy- no smooth motions.Overall, I recommend this for any small to medium business that doesn't have 10k+ to buy a telepresence system but still needs to join web conferences with video without huddling around a laptop. This was not built for consumer use, and it certainly not priced for consumers. However, for the right audience, this camera can be perfect!

I gave it 4-5 because it isn't perfect like most pieces of tech. But, if you have a solid Windows 7 computer in your small-to-mid sized conference room, this is a great device to put at the end of your table. The most surprisingly positive part of this device is the built-in microphone. One of these sits in a 20x18 room and it seems to cover an 8-person audience very well. We had planned on more microphones, but not now.PS - Logitech, you need to support your higher-end webcams throughout the OS lifecycle. Can't tell you how bummed we were when the Orbit MP was not Win7. I fear that this may happen again with this device.

I use the device as my primary voice device (speakerphone) and it functions well. I can walk all around my room and people on the other end can hear me speaking just fine. The camera functions well, my only real beef with it is every time I reboot my machine the camera re-positions itself back to the default position causing my to have to readjust it every time. Would be much nicer if it either didn't reset, or did its reset cycle then returned to the original position. I'm on Windows 8 for whatever that's worth.

Bought for smaller conference room and am very happy with performance.Great sound and video quality. Remote pan/zoom control is nice. Has a good depth of focus so near and far participants all still clearly visible.Only gripe is that it cannot capture both sides of a table very well, due to lack of extreme wide angle. This is not really possible without fish-eye effect or multiple cameras, so its not really a problem with the product just a consideration when planning your buy.

Pretty amazing camera, I like the remote control feature to be used in a group setting. Quality of the image is quite nice, very clear with the web platforms that I am using as well as a desktop based video app. This camera fully met my expectations and I have purchased two so far and a few colleagues also want and have purchased as well. Can function well as a personal webcam also.I was worried that the pedistal would be too flimsy, but in an office setting is adquate. I mostly use the camera docked in the carrier and place the cam higher on my Plasma in any case! I am very satisfied.One of our IT guys has one in the server room to remotely monitor equipment!

I bought this camera for use in a classroom discussion environment using Skype for video and audio. We also tested Citrix, I believe. We found the video to be a nice improvement over our existing solution (that is, the bad cameras in our macbook pros), but the audio just didn't cut it. It did not do a good job with discussion because audio was constantly being cut out on one end or the other. So normal discussion just didn't work.I really like logitech, and the build of the product is nice. I had high hopes, but I ended up returning it. It would probably work fine for a single user sitting in front of his computer, but it didn't work with a group.We also have polycom unit, and the audio for that is superb. It will cost a whole lot more, but we'll probably go back to polycom for our upgrades.

the remote makes it easy for conference room users to aim and zoom wherever they feel like. that way whether there's two people or eight people in the room everyone is seen and heard.speaker is loud enough for a quiet conference room but no louder.the mic is sensitive and also works well in a quiet conference room, but has little to no noise reduction.Cost was a bit high, but the remote control of the webcam makes it worth every penny.on a side note the smoothness of the turning could have been improved, I'm no engineer but a stepper motor is a poor choice and can make the receiving side nauseous.

The camera is good for a basic conference or training. The remote is useful for focusing on the smart board or speaker, although there is a delay in the control it's still OK. I don't feel it would be good for larger conferences that require faster response for rotation or zooming, but so far it's good enough for my training and presentation needs.

Test it using oovoo, on PC, Mac, no problem.No need to install any driver which is cool.No complaint over here except got problem with remote.It suddenly stops working.Just a suggestion, it would be nice for the lens to have wider angle or possibly two lens.Plus ability to add another speakerphone or microphone

The Camera Works as advertized and is of reasonable quality noting that professional conference room cameras often sell for more than $2k. Video is decent quality comperable to better webcams. Remote control works ok, but is not as responsive as high end broadcast units. Speakerphone is reasonably sensitive.Documentation is weak lacking detailed specifications needed when setting up some third party software, and while there is a basic camera set-up softare package available from Logitech that's all it is...very basic.Overall a solid reasonalble price alternative for conferance calls.

I always wanted to have a webcam with remote control (unit)! And quality is amazing. The only thing I wish is that there was a snapshot button as well but generally I'm happy with the purchase. The delivery system works great, had received in time! Thank you Logitech and Amazon and seller aSavings!

We bought this to use for boardroom meetings and works great. Microphone works well (can hear someone about 10 ft away without having to raise voice), video quality is good, speakers are clear.Only reason why I gave four stars is that the camera "eyeball" doesn't swivel when it is put on the stick mount.

This cam works great.Being able to use a remote is way better than only being able to use sofware that eats up valuable screen space like the Orbit AF.The speaker and mic are superb.The auto focus works much better than the Orbit AF.I removed one star because the software does not fully work with skype to is fullest.The cam will not fully zoom in with skype. Also the buttons for answering calls and ending them wont work with skype. It is nice to have a remote but now you can not pan or zoom or adjust the focus with sofware at all.I wish logitech had just added features instead of removing them for a new control style.The cam is good but the software needs to be finished, it lacks all the controls needed. It is very easy to use but should be able to have more options to customize it if wanted.A suggestion.Build a bluetooth adapter into the cam base and sell it with a bluetooth headset. I am using my Bose bluetooth headset with this and its just awesome. Perfect pic with perfect sound.

I conducted several web video calls and rather than using the camera on my laptop I tried out this conference camera. I used GoTo meeting as my web meeting provider and leveraged plugged in the Logitech. It was pretty much plug and play and worked to perfection.

We are using this with Lync and Skype. It seems to work well with both. I am a little disappointed in the echo canceling capability. The room is 14 x 10 but we are getting a lot of echo on audio calls with this unit. I will need to add acoustic wall tile to the room to help with that. The motion of the camera is a basic stepper motor, but for the cost of the unit for what it does, we still think it is a great value.

I was trying to find an inexpensive webcam to use with skype in a business conference room setting. Our room is 12 feet wide, by 22 feet long. Most video conferencing solution cameras are much more expensive, so this one was inexpensive, all things considered. The microphone on the webcam is stated to work well for users 8 feet away, as well as the speaker. We found that users over 12 feet away could still hear, and be heard. Picture quality (so we're told by users on the other end) is good. We're very satisfied.

This worked just find, but if you have a window 8 you can not use the control functions. I had to send this back, and buy a Logitech 920.
