It has two modes which is supposed to help make it useful for different games. I have had a hell of a time getting it to work for any games instead. There's special software (expected) and receiver to use.I would like it more if it was a bluetooth and quicker to connect by default to devices. Once it works for something it gets easier, it's just a pain to get it working the first time. Which mode will it need to be on?

If you can get the original Xbox 360 controller for the computer, do so.. this Logitech Gamepad is finicky with what games it will worth with, then to top it off you must program the games you want to use with it so it will work. And half the time it wont work with those games either. Good try, but consider this only if you CANNOT afford the 360 controller.

There is a lot about this controller that is amazing.Pros:WeightResponsivenessFeelLookBut there is one major conCons:SHORT wireless rangeI need to be within 3 feet of the receiver to ensure no interruptions. This is ridiculous for a device which is purposed to take you away from the receiver (cord). I strongly recommend against buying this controller if you are looking for wireless functionality.

Before getting into the details, I will start by saying this is a strong, sturdy controller. It works as advertised--if you are looking for a controller for your PC, I think you will be happy with this selection.It took a while to write a review, since there seems to be less PC games each year. I tried to use the controller for several games that I own, including Trine, Grid, Bionic Commando Re-Armed, and Lego Batman, all of which were designed to be used with a controller. These games gave me a sense of the controller, and it worked nicely for each game.This Logitech controller is designed like the PS3 controller. It has the same body shape and triggers. The controller has mass--add batteries, and it weighs more. In fact, it is one of the heavier controllers I have used. I was surprised by this, and one of the reasons I took off a star.Since this is a wireless controller, you need the batteries. I feel the controller is a bit on the heavy side, especially when compared to a PS3 controller. The wireless aspects work fine, but I have my PC under my desk. I have never needed a PC controller to be wireless. However, depending on your set-up at home, where your tower might be far away, a wireless controller makes sense. For me, I would rather sacrifice the wireless for a much lighter controller.Finally, the thing I liked least about the controller are the triggers on the top (R1, R2, L1, L2). They are very small compared to a PS3 controller, and they are very stiff, especially the top buttons R1 and L1. This tired out my hand much faster than I expected. I much prefer the feel of the PS3 controller or even the Xbox 360 (for PC) controller when it comes to these trigger buttons.Overall, I can recommend this controller if you are willing to deal with the extra weight and small triggers. The controller worked in every game, and the wireless signal was never lost. Logitech makes quality products, and this controller is no exception. If you are a PS3 owner, and want a similar product for your computer, this is very close to the same thing. The question of wireless and controller feel is up to you, but the controller is strong and sturdy and should last a long time.

I'm using this gamepad for 6 months already and it is rock solid. My PC is connected to the TV so I play from the couch at a distance of 1,5 meters from the sensor, it's great!Build quality: 10/10Comfort: 9/10Responsiveness: 10/10No issues so far. I've been able to play Fifa 12, The Witcher 2, Rayman Origins, F1 2011, Risen 2 (change the input from Direct to X-Pad on top of the controller if the game doesn't recongnize your device).

IN SHORT:I use this as a WIRELESS REMOTE CONTROL for itunes and media players as well as for gaming. The receiver, when plugged directly into your computer, tends to have issues with interference unless you are very close; this is resolved easily by using the expander and placing it away from sources of interference. Overall, a fantastic controller and (almost) fully programmable although some minor setbacks exist.PROS:-Can program different commands for EACH program! I use this gamepad as a wireless "remote" for iTunes, my media players, etc when I am away from my computer. (I output to my tv so this functionality is VERY useful)-Programmable (EXTENSIVELY)-Force Feedback-Supports XInput and DInput (XInput = new standard, "auto detects" game settings; DInput = "old" standard; use this mode to program the buttons.-Nice solid feel, buttons are crisp-Good range, IF clear of interference (see cons)NEUTRAL:-When in DInput mode, it IS the rumblepad2 (or whatever Logitechs old "famous" controller was).-In XInput, it detects as the F710 and is not programmable. (Must use the DInput to program)CONS:-Range suffers drastically from interference. When plugged into my pc directly, the signal failed when I was 3 feet away. However, I used the extension (that comes with it) and put the receiver on my desk and it works flawlessly from over 20 feet away in my kitchen now.-Not all programmable functions seem to work right. In particular, I set the L/R triggers to CTRL+Up/Down in Itunes so that I could alter the volume. Although this works if bound to a different button, and the triggers work when bound to a different command, oddly enough the triggers would not work when bound to ctrl+up/down.Unique Issue: I played "The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom" with this controller in Windowed mode and apparently windows does not recognize any input as going in. Don't get me wrong, the game worked fine, however every 5minutes my screensaver would kick in unless I moved the mouse or keyboard!! This has ONLY happened in this one game though so I am assuming it is a unique issue and not the fault of the gamepad.Overall, highly recommended if you are looking for a gamepad for your PC; especially if you output things to your TV so you can use it doubly as a remote.

Does not work. Does not work out of the box. Almost no documentation (its says nothing in multiple languages). ALmost no trouble shooting documentation. On-line trouble shooting FAQ limited to one strategy that does not work.BEWARE OF FAKE REVIEWS - most of the good reviews for the F710 have only 1 review on their profile. The other might be employees as well. THIS CONTROLLER SUCKS!!!!!!!!I complained to the company and they immediately send me a replacement. They didnt even try to trouble shoot. THIS IS A BAD SIGN. This means that they know about the problems.This thing is impossible to set up. It worked automatically for one game (out of 5) . WHen I tried to adjust the contrls it immediately stopped working. Like dead. I tried resettign defaults. NOTHING. I tried working around using the set up software. NOTHING. I tried writing to the company again. NO REPLY.The other games it half works and the custom software does not work. The trouble shooting instructions the on the web site do not work. As I said above, the Logitech software doesnt work. (when I have it in x-Mode, it says to switch it to D mode. When I switch it to D mode, it cannot find my controller.)This was a massive waste of money. VERY VERY VERY frustrating. The fake reviews make it worse. It proves the company are a bunch of jerks trying to trick people.I have a new computer (3 months old). If you work for logitech - send me 40 bucks and an apology. stop the insanity. selling defective products is a horrible marketing strategy.

Regardless what others say about this controller I say this; "the controller is the on the market right now the design, look and feel of it is the best. In addition the Xinput and Dinput feature makes it even better and the wireless is flawless the analog sticks have no dead-zones, the buttons have excellent resistance to one's finger push. What can I say? Logitech delivers again! I have owned a few controllers in the past but none are as great as this one! The battery life is great! It feels solid in your hand, the rumble effect is strong, and the fact that I can use it with my X-Box 360 is a huge plus! If you are in the market for a controller, drop the extra loot for this one! Although this might cost more than the rest of Logitech's controllers, it's worth the price. It's wireless and I have yet to experience the connection issues other users complain about. The buttons are fully customizable and work with every ROM I've tried so far. 5/5, perfect product.

I purchased this unit because of Logitech's reputation of creating great hardware and standing behind their products. Boy was I sorely mistaken. This controller has a problem that causes it to switch modes randomly during game play. The effect is that the controller starts spewing commands to the game causing the game to go haywire.What makes this even worse, is that I contacted Logitech support and it appears that they are aware of this defect because they immediately said that they would replace the unit. However, it would be 2 - 3 weeks before they would have any of these units in stock.If you are in the market for a PC based game controller, I would recommend that you look else where.UPDATE: Logitech took a while but finally made it right. They sent a new controller and it fixed the problem. The new controller has been working flawlessly.

I love logitech, and this is a well built product. connects great with every game I throw at it, but with windows 7 64 bit you have to do a clean boot install, (just google search "to boot clean in windows 7")in order for the profile software not to conflict with anything else. My problem is it just hearts my hand really bad, the under part and the Lt and Rt triggers are as hard to pull as real triggers on a gun. Is this to make the game feel more real? I just want the psp type of feel. I have to find something else and take my losses, my wrist hurts for days after using this and my index and middle finger feel like they are split apart... this is the worst game pad I have ever used as far as comfort goes. I made sure to wait at least 2 weeks before giving a review to see if I got used to it, and it only got worst.I truly believe this product is a health risk.

This new Logitech game controller is a natural evolution of my Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2. While the older model was mimicking PS2 controller style, F710 is a blend of current Xbox 360 and PS3 models.The overall build quality is what's expected from a good Logitech product. It feels sturdy and heavy enough, while provides comfort with soft plastic grips. The buttons and sticks are responsive, and miniature wireless receiver is a great plus. My only complaint is that the controller is slightly small for my hands, and I'd prefer Xbox 360 Controller as a better fit.However the major feature in this new F710 model is neither the programmable buttons, nor the great looks, but the ability to emulate both older controllers and the Xbox 360 wired controller with the flip of a switch. If you've a collection of both older and newer games, you'll know my pain. Most Games for Windows titles would only accept the Xbox 360 controller as a keyboard alternative, on the other hand that would not work with slightly older ones (like the original Prince of Persia trilogy). Then you'd have to switch controllers every time you switched between the games (keeping them both plugged at the same time - unfortunately - causes more issues).Thus, if you leave your PS3 or 360 from time to time, and come back to the PC, you'll find yourself at home with F710. No more switching controllers between games!Pros:+ Xbox 360 emulation on the fly+ Ease of installation (default drivers on Win7 works)+ Good ergonomics+ Small wireless receiver+ Responsive controlsCons:- Slightly small for larger hands- Analog / digital pad placement (I find the 360 way more natural)

I was skeptical in buying a wireless gamepad. I thought that the precision wouldn't be enough and would irritate me if lost connections during gameplay. I was totally wrong. I used this gamepad for hours on Need For Speed Shift 2.Pros:1. I had this for 2 months and I'm still on the original batteries. Even with the rumble turned on.2. Gamepad has a storage slot for the transceiver.Cons:1. Not really a con, but no off switch. Apparently, the gamepad goes into hibernate/standby while not in use.

I got this controller for my PC since I just got into gaming on it. I've been a console-gamer at heart and have stuck with the Playstation for most my life. I only used it on Fallout 3 thus far, but I noticed really bad dead zones on this controller. And there is no software that allows you to adjust the sensitivity or recalibrate the analog sticks! Bah...save your money. I downloaded an app called motionionjoy instead, and it allows me to use my ps3 controller with my PC. No dead zones and best of all it's free! I'm sure there are apps out there to use your xbox360 controller with your PC as well...so I'd recommend simply doing that.It would be a great controller otherwise. It feels very good in the hands, and it has a nice layout like a mix between a ps3 and x360 controller. I regret spending so much money on it, I may find a use for it in the future if logitech releases some sort of software to fix the dead zones.
