Really, I should start with the essentials.
It has a Qualcom Snapdragon 8 core (1.8) processor
32 g of built in storage and 3g of ram. It takes sd cards up to 2T. That should cover just about anyone's needs.
It boasts *a lot* of bands and is compatible with a huge array of providers. When I went to order a sim, first visiting willmyphonework, I discovered that it is compatible with my current provider, so I can add a line for $3 :) I am very happy with them, so that works for me.
It uses a fast charger, and was fully charged in under and hour. It is rated for 24 hours of active use and 14 hours of standby. While I have not tested it to it's limit, I have been listening to streaming music for 4 hours with both wifi and bluetooth on and it has barely made a dent in the battery.
It has a bidirectional usb c (3) port and can connect and transfer files in a number of ways: via USB, NFC, ftp, wifi direct and LG/ android beam. LG also has a software package to transfer the contents of your old phone to your new phone. I actually stopped it because it gave me an indicator that it could not connect, but when I turned it on, there were the apps, files, etc from my old phone. (update) I ran the program again, and it zipped my files and transferred personal content (contacts, photos, music) as well as apps. I was able to install a favorite app which is no longer available in the play store, which made me very happy.
It has a very nice display:: full hd (1900 x2160) again, not the very best, but very very good.
full specs from LG: IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
Size 6.2 inches, 99.2 cm2 (79.8% screen-to-body ratio)
Resolution 1080 x 2160 pixels, 18:9 ratio (390 ppi density)
It has 1 front (5 mp) and 1 rear 13 mp camera with laser autofocus
Dts dolby 3d (surround) sound, direct x, decodes/ plays lossless files.
It is also 8mm thick. That is thinner than most of last year's chunky watches!
Among the features listed on LG's site is the ability to use it as a server, and with the number of file transfer protocols, very good processor, and ample memory, this could be used as a media server, among other things.
Alexa and Google's android assistant are preinstalled.
It also has a number of security features loaded (many LG software) encription, ability to lock gallery, notebook.
At 6.2 inches it is a good size for reading, watching videos, playing games (and has an accelerometer, as well as gps).
I really can not think of a feature it doesn't have. It matches my carefully chosen phones point for point, except for having a lower res camera, but more than compensates with a faster processor.
At this price point it is what many would consider a budget phone, but it does not look, feel or act like it.
This started life here as a back-up phone, and one I would be taking on the road (as it is compatible with many networks in Australia, while my One plus is not). After playing with it for a few hours, I think this is the one I will be carrying, and the Oneplus will stay at home, except for when I really need a 32 mp camera ;)

I am updating my review having activated the phone with my provider and used it for several days. One ofr the really impressive things was how easy it was to activate. It took no set up at all and I was able to do the entire thing online in a couple of minutes. Along with the large number of bands it receives, it can operate on GSM and CDMA networks. {My provider offered me a choice, but I left it on automatic) which means that I can get a signal just about anywhere! The calls were clear (no interference or background noise) and voice clarity as good as any phone I have used.
I still can not say that I have tested the battery to it's limit, but after 3 days of heavy use, as a streaming server with both wifi and blue tooth enabled, it was down to 27%. That is very impressive performance. All the other phones I have used need to be charged after a few hours with wifi and blue trooth on.
I also want to add that there are features I had not noticed before. It can be used as a server (media or ftp) as well as a mobile hot spot. All of the features I have tried work well, and LG has (free) software available in the play store to help with transfers.
