Not your mamma's switch...
Nice little desktop switch for the money. I'm using two of them to distribute internet connections throughout the house from my cable modem to the wireless router, the computers, TVs, Blu-Ray streamers, AVRs yada yada yada, Getting good solid connects through all 10 ports. I'm adding a networking diagram of the house showing how I implemented the switches. Hopefully it can give you some ideas.

Effective, inexpensive and compact Ethernet switch
I have been using this switch for a few weeks now, and it is working well for me. My broadband service is not particularly fast, so I figured that I don't need one of the faster gigabit ethernet switches. I have positioned my Linksys WRT54GL router in my (climate controlled) attic, to have a more central location for the WiFi functions, and installed this new switch in my home office. A long ethernet cable connects this switch to a LAN port on the router, and 2 computers in the office are connected to this switch. (Another ethernet cable runs from the router to a PicoStation M2HP, to extend internet access to a second house about 250 feet away, but that's another story.)
The installation was "plug and play", meaning all that I had to do was plug in the cables everything just works. I have not seen any problems with my network or internet access since installing this TP-LINK switch. The computers perform as if they were still plugged directly into the router. This device is not much larger than a deck of cards, and the price is surprisingly low.

This switch will cause your bandwidth to drop approximately 85% ...
This switch will cause your bandwidth to drop approximately 85%. My internet speed with this unmanaged switch was 18Mbps. After replacing with a Cisco SG110 series switch, my bandwidth increased to 114Mbps.
I found the reason. The ports are rated for 10/100 however the switch "backbone" is not.
If you care about speed, this switch is NOT for you...

4 port hub not 5
Great product like everyone has said but what is not said is that even though it says 5 port hub it’s really a 4 port hub because 1 of the ports is used to connect the internet. It doesn’t have a in plug it uses one of the front ports. I’m pointing to the internet in plug.

Inexpensive solution to my problem with the new cable box
ATT came and installed a new DVR cable box to replace my old one. In the process they told me that I had to get all new Cat 5 cable to replace my coax (which they don't use anymore). Previously I had coax come into my DVR, and then I used HDMI cable to connect to my Samsung smart TV.
I also used the Cat 5 socket on the back of the old DVR to connect to the "network" socket on the TV so that I would be hard wired to watch Netflix, Plex, Amazon, etc. rather than watch those channels via WiFi.
With the new Cat 5 cable installed, they used the Cat 5 socket on the back of the DVR so there was no place to connect my old Cat 5 cable to the Network socket on the TV. I thought about getting a simple Y splitter, but read that did not work well, so I bought this switch and installed it, ie, I plugged the Cat 5 cable out of the wall into position #1 and then used a length of Cat 5 cable to the back of the TV and another length to the back of the DVR box. These two wires went into positions #2 and #3. The HDMI cable was left as is. This switch works perfectly as an inexpensive solution to my mini-dilemma when the installer upset my status quo. I am very pleased with it.

Download speeds dropped to unacceptable levels
I blamed it on an old desktop, so I upgraded the HD, then blamed it on my ISP, but then I actually plugged my ethernet cable into the modem directly and got 120mbps speeds consistently. Then plugged it into my wifi router directly, and got 110+ speeds consistently, then plugged it back into the switch, and it dropped again. My devices connected to wifi are consistently getting 100+ mbps speeds, while on my ethernet, through the switch it's dropping down to under 20 mpbs. Just ordered a different switch, unfortunately I can't return this through Amazon since I got it in February. :(

Very SMALL Very Inexpensive VERY easy to Install & Setup
This is a great and extremely inexpensive switch. I am in the process of wiring my house with Cat5 Cable, but had an immediate need for a switch by my pc so I can run my printer, and my VOIP. The Cisco router I was using was causing issues and I didn't want to spend money that would be wasted.
Then I found this switch. I was able to ditch my old router. This is also smaller and extremely easy to set up. You basically plug it in and attach your network cables.
There is only a very small instruction sheet, and I was unsure if it mattered which port of 1-5 was the input and which were the outputs. IT DOES NOT MATTER! Just plug your cables in any order.
Followup after 3 months: Still working great. never needs to be reset. the amount of frustration i have avoided by purchasing this product is substantial.

Cut my internet speed in half...
This didn't give me anywhere close to 100 mbps whnne I wired my PS4 to it. I ran !utiple speed tests and I was getting download speeds of 25, 32, 20 mbps. The speeds were all over the place. I disconnected the PS4 from the switch and connected it directly to my Nest router, 115 mbps download on on the first connection test. I returned this switch and purchased the black TP Link gigabit version, which works outstanding! If you have a high-speed connection don't be cheap and purchase the gigabit switch.
On another note if you are paying for 50 mbps internet or below thi switch will be great for you, which is why I'm giving it three stars.
