This has been rated to record data quickly. I use it when taking pictures with a digital SLR and have found it to be as quick as my others. It makes a great backup.

This is an excellent & workman-like SDHC storage card. We have been suffering with a smaller capacity 2GB card - and constantly having to struggle with managing photos vs. diminishing capacity. Kingston has easily solved our problem with the reasonably priced disk. 16GB may not seem like a lot these days (I still recall marvelling at 20MB disks on old computers) - but this speedy device makes longer daily picture taking jaunts easier. At the very least, you won't have to swap cards as much or compromise on the density of your images.

I bought the HTC EVO smartphone and it came with 8GB of memory. After installing a handful of apps and uploading a few albums worth of songs, I realized I was out of memory fairly quickly. Since I didn't like being *limited* on my new fancy smartphone, I bought this 32GB memory module and because I figured it would be a bit faster (Class 4 vs Class 2), but in truth I didn't notice any increase in speeds in using anything on the phone. I *think* perhaps the difference might be that class 4 could help reduce any lag if recording in HD due to inherent memory card fragmentation that might be experienced with Class 2 - this is all speculative, however. Also, 32GB is nice, but may have been slight overkill for me. I'm a moderate app user, have a pretty good number of albums, and take pictures from time to time, but not a "power user". I still have 22GB free at the moment. So, a 16GB card might do you nicely, but of course 32GB is nicer! I have had no memory hiccup problems and installing it was simple. The memory microSD to SD adaptor card it comes with--I haven't had to use yet-- but I know from previous experience that it can be really handy to use for perhaps your (soon to be older) memory card you can use for other SD slot devices like laptop or printer.

I have tried this card with all three of my camera's. A Sony, Kodak & Canon. It fit in all three cameras , but all three camera's give the message that the card is not compatible. I really wanted it to work because of the available storage. I almost didn't get it out of one of the cameras. Wish I could give a better review & will try it when I come up with another camera.

Summary: Kingston Class 6 (6MB/s) card being sold at barely Class 4 (4MB/s) performance, yet it still can't keep up with the real-world performance that an older Panasonic Class 4 SDHC can deliver. I rarely ever leave reviews, but when a major brand misrepresents..Bottom Line: I am requesting a refund, thank you Amazon! I will also never pay a premium for Kingston memory for my cameras, workstations, or servers, nor would I recommend it to my friends or even strangers! The performance is probably not noticeable in non-streaming applications and smaller digital cameras, so mileage may vary.Real World: I bought this card for a new handheld Aiptek 1080P GVS video camera and all was perfect at 720P 60fps, then I switched it to 1080P and kept getting an error with the camera stating "slow memory card" within 1-2 seconds of recording. The camera requirements is only for Class 4, but is compatible with Class 6, I purchased the Class 6 for the extra performance and as a good solid baseline performance against a future generic brand 32GB card purchase. So I went and found the biggest SDHC card I could find from an old camera, a Panasonic 2GB Class 4, and the camera worked perfectly, swapped back and forth, did a format on the Kingston, same results every time.So I downloaded H2testw which is primarily a capacity test, but also reports sustained read/write performance. I tested both cards on a Windows system in the camera using the USB cable with the only variable being the SDHC card itself. To summarize the Kingston website - SDHC cards can be rated different ways by different manufacturers, but a class 4 is supposed to be at least 4MB/s, and a class 6 is at least 6 MB/s. The rating can be based on write speed, read speed which is typically faster than write speed, or some combination referred to as transfer rate. Kingston states that their ratings are based on write performance. So here are the results which runs for several minutes since it also verifies capacity:Kingston 4GB Class 6Warning: Only 3846 of 3850 MByte tested.Test finished without errors. You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.Writing speed: 3.58 MByte/sReading speed: 6.50 MByte/sH2testw v1.4Panasonic 2GB Class 4Warning: Only 1834 of 1921 MByte tested.Test finished without errors. You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.Writing speed: 3.36 MByte/sReading speed: 6.22 MByte/sH2testw v1.4I also tested a micro SD 8GB sandisk card from my cell phone that went at 16.1 MB/S writes, 18.3 MB/S reads. So the difference is that the Kingston is only 6% faster on writes, and 4% faster on reads against a chip where it should be at least 50% faster. I never considered Panasonic a leading brand, let alone the #1 perceived brand. The bigger difference is that even though overall performance is really about the same, the minimum write performance must be much lower than the average in order to cause a recording error with the camera. As another reviewer said, the Kingston brand is not what it used to be..

This card is very slow, in fact slower than my Class 6 cards. I am using this card on a Nikon D7000 and have compared this card with several other cards ranging from Class 4 to Class 10 and capacities ranging from 4-32 GB. The writing of photos on the camera is slow and extremely slow when reviewing photos on the camera. The transfer speed between the card and the computer is appalling too, not even reaching 10MB/s.

I used this card with my Canon Vixia HF100 camcorder (*see update below) and the upload speed was noticeably slower than the class 6 card I had been using previously. I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to the tech details of these things but I'd have assumed that this card would leave the class 6 in its wake, speed wise. It simply doesn't.(*UPDATE 8/20/11: With this card, I could not record at the highest video setting on the HF100 and received numerous warning messages when recording on the next level down. I wouldn't recommend this for use with the HF100)

I purchased this card last week to take on a weekend vacation with my family to Hersheypark. After a weekend of recording I began getting "Disk Error" and "No memory card" messages. I lost everything. I should have stuck with the RiData card that I have been using for the past year with NO problem. I thought that Kingston was a better brand and that I was upgrading. This piece of crap is going in the trash where it belongs. Thanks to Amazon Prime I received this card in time to ruin my vacation memories. I will be canceling that too. Please don't waste your hard earned money on this garbage.
