Rise of the old machine...
I have 3rd generation i3 Sony Vaio laptop. Needless to say that it had become painstakingly slow. Booting Windows 10 required atleast 3 to 5 minutes. I am a developer and consistently need to work on Visual Studio software. Starting Visual Studio required 2 to 3 minutes.
I has decided to purchase a new laptop with i5 processor. Fortunately one day I saw this product available at such a cheap price (4300 RS) and immediately decided to give it a try. I replaced my Toshiba 500 GB harddisk with this SSD and immediately my old laptop was ready to compete with newer generation systems. Booting now requires below 10 seconds and Visual Studio also starts in merely seconds. Thanks Kingston for saving my 50K which I would have otherwise utilised to purchase a new laptop.

Turbocharged my old laptop
I have an 8 yr old DELL Studio 15 laptop which works fine. I use it primarily for gaming along with some light use like learning new stuff like Python & watching movies. Lately, it had become terribly slow. After several tests, I determined that the hard drive (WD 7200 rpm 320GB SATA) was pulling the performance down of an otherwise brilliant laptop. Currently available laptops in the budget range don't have much more to offer than what this one already has & the latest gaming laptops are way too expensive. So I swapped out the old HDD with this one & reinstalled Windows 10 and other stuff that I use normally. Now it feels like the laptop is on steroids!!!

SSD At Affordable Price
I wanted to change my HDD with new one, as my old HDD (WD Black) was gradually failing, searched lot of sites & products, wanted to get another HDD, but saw the reviews were horrible (about failure of products within few months), so decided to buy SSD (first time, as I trust HDD over SSD because SSD have limited read/write cycles); among them Kingston SSDNow A400 480GB was beating the Price in SSD 500GB segment with descent TBW. Same was available on other sites for ~5.7k but love the Amazon delivery so ordered it from Amazon for ~6.1K (So 4 Stars!). Delivery was super fast. When received the product it was in sealed Tetra Pack (Genuine Product), Assembled in Taiwan (Great Relief! You Know What I mean...).
Pros:
Very Light Weight (feels like a biscuit, wanted to bite!) than my HDD (WD Black).
Thin than my HDD (WD Black).
Easy to install in my laptop.
Can be partitioned in GPT format (for UEFI BIOS).
Faster Booting of Windows compare to my HDD (WD Black), total boot time on HDD was ~3Min now its ~40 Seconds.
Faster Opening of Applications.
For regular operation gets descent copying speed from 2MB-90MB/Sec.
SOLVED FREQUENT HANGING PROBLEM PROBLEM OF MY LAPPY (ThinkPad E460).
Cons:

Nice product
I m software developer, so i need to install some heavy development s/w on my laptop.
I m facing slow boot-up issue.
After upgrading HHD to SSD my laptop turnon within 10-15 sec. No lag after login.
Those who have 4gb ram with win10 i personally suggest this drive.
SSD can improve ur pc app loading time but for heavy app u should also upgrade RAM.

Best value for money SSD
Few terms that you should be familiar with:
TLC (Triple level cell): Single NAND cell can store 3 bits, therefore SSD will be cheaper, slower and deteriorate faster but will have higher capacity in similarly dense SLC/MLC SSDs. (You don't need to worry about SSD wear, this SSD is rated for at least 1 million hours MTBF.
Dual channel controller: Basically two concurrent streams of data querying capacity.
DRAM cache: High speed memory embedded on SSD to speedup access time of frequently accessed files.
Kingston SA400 is a TLC Dual Controller Single Core (Phison PS3111-S11, last gen's most popular controller) SSD with no DRAM cache, pretty much the cheapest SSD can go.
Therefore it is slower and dumber as compared to Samsung 860 EVO, Kingston UV500, Crucial MX500. But it's also extremely cheaper.
The attached image shows the read and write speed of the SSD but these numbers are mostly misleading. If you are going for a SSD just to speed up the overall experience and snappiness of the OS, you should be looking for 4KB Queue depth of 1 and single threaded workload's read and write speed because that's the most common work load.
Now, a typical 5400 RPM HDD will have 4KiB Q1T1 speeds around 0.5 MiBPS read and 1.5 MiBPS write whereas you can see in the image that this SSD has ~35 MiBPS read and ~82 MiBPS write which is exponentially faster than HDD.
So, going with this SDD will have an exponential increase in speed as compared to HDD, while going for MLC/SLC SSD with DRAM cache and dual channel controller will have marginal increase in speed as compared to this SSD but a much more increase in cost.
Therefore, if you are tight on budget, go with this SSD without a doubt. But, if you have a specialized workload that can take advantage of higher queue depth speeds, multi threaded performance or sequential speeds and you have no issue in spending the extra money then go for more expensive ones. But, I would suggest to go with extremely high performing SSD like NVMe ones that directly communicate with the CPU using PCIe lanes, if you really want something above SA400.

best one in this price segment
Result in my 4th generation i3 4gb laptop attached here.Really a great cheap product. It drastically changed my 4th generation laptop performance. moving from 5400rpm hard disk to this ssd is probably best move. product came with a simple polythene is really disappointing. it would be great if came with bubble or box.

Don't replace your laptop !!! Buy this SSD
My friend suggested me to go for this as he had bought this for his desktop, (I know that SSDs are bloody fast) but I had no big hopes for my laptop, but installing this was piece cake (disassembling dell Inspiron 3558's was pretty tough when it got to the DVD drive, the first time, later I got the hang of it and could do it with ease ) I had installed the windows and my laptop booted up in 17 seconds !!! It used to take about 2 minutes + (with all the apps), from 2+ minutes to 17 seconds and less is a huge improvement. The laptop looks like it drank coffee+redbull+cocaine !!! Google Chrome opens up in an instant or else opening that was a pain. This is worth it !!! It's better to go for the 240 gigs as the price difference between 120 and 240 is not much, this is worth the couple extra bucks. Couldn't test the battery performance as my battery is almost dead and I made the better decisions to invest in this SSD. My dad is impressed by the performance jump and I've ordered another one. Trust me guys, if you've 2600 bucks and want to upgrade your PC/Laptop, BUY THIS !!!

No warranty
Amazon has been unable to provide proper invoice for the warranty purpose of this device. I have complained and requested escalation 4 times over past 5 months. Now I am fed up with all the follow up.
If Amazon cannot provide warranty for the products sold, they may as well stop selling them,
Coming to the product it seems to be getting very hot. Reaching 60~61.c upon load. Idles at roughly 55.c which seems a little high.

Worked great as expected
Kingston SSD is a good product known for quality. As soon as I received delivery of the 128GB model I installed in my laptop and it became several notch faster to boot and responsive. A very welcome upgrade for anyone who struggles with a HDD. The removed HDD with a external casing I am able to use as a external HDD.

Best and Worth
My brothers owns a Samsung brand SSD, we both are competitors so i bought this one, Installed Win 7 onto this, boot time as compared to a Normal spinning HDD is far better but as compared to samsung is a step behind. According to the price i`d say its worth and best affordable for all users.

but Hard Disk Sentinel shows this new ssd have 233 media wearout health condition 100% and performance 80%
so iam little bit dispointed to this result and kingston quality control issues

Excellent product but unhappy for the torned packet
This ssd is extremely fast. I replaced it with my laptop 5400rpm hdd. Sony vaio vpceh35en. Now my laptop is as fast as new ThinkPad or Apple laptops, though my processor is 2nd gen i3 with 2 cores, 2.3ghz. After putting this ssd my laptop boot time reduced and now it boots within a few seconds, white previously it used to take more than 2 minutes. Any large softwares like Photoshop cs6, premier pro cs6, Illustrator cs6, Eclipse, Android Studio, Adobe pdf, Chrome browser, Firefox, Opera, Word,Excel, PowerPoint, etc fully within max 3-5sec, which previously used to take almost a minute to launch specially after boot. Write speed has also increase but I have not measured yet so cannot give any opinion. Even my battery backup increased so much. Previously while booting the laptop battery reduces to 7%-8% but now it reduces only 1% -2%. It's because ssd has no physical moving parts while hdd has small motor which makes the disc rotate. In ssd all the data are always ready to use but in hdd it has to search the data throughout the disc by rotating it which results slowness. The ssd is very light in weight compared to the hdd. But my product came to my with a torned packed. Shame on you appario retail. Another point is that I am using it on Windows 7, if you use this on Windows 10 then you can more faster boot time and faster app launch time because Windows 10 is a very optimized OS compare to Windows 7 and MacOs. If you have a good processor and high speed ram with Windows 10 then I can assure you that using this ssd you laptop or PC will run many times faster than Macbook pro. Though MacBook pro has m.2 nvme ssd but Windows 10 is more optimized.

The replacement works best.
Finally I got the replacement SSD drive and loaded windows using recovery disk. If you are a HP user and if you have system recovery media, avoid the application driver disk. It did cause error while setting up on new SSD. Now its all loaded and working perfectly faster. I used another tool called PC Faster and with the new SSD in place, my boot time on my HP Pavilion G6 is 40 seconds.
The SSD has all features as mentioned. It's metallic body, maintains the temperature and does not allow it to overheat. Use another tool called speccy to monitor the system temp, specs and issues.
Thanks Amazon, though the first one didn't work, the replacement works perfect.

A low end SSD with reasonable performance
Most people after upgrading from a mechanical HDD to any SSD usually feel so much overjoyed with the performance enhancement that they tend to give 5 star ratings. Then why did I give 3 stars to this SSD? Please read on.
The most important aspect of an SSD is not speed or life expectancy. Almost all SSDs available in the market have read speeds hovering between 450 to 550 Mb/s and write speeds from 350 to 500 Mbps making all of them 5 (sequential) to 500 (random) times faster than any mechanical hard disk. This one is no exception. Almost all SSDs have a life expectancy (MTBF) of 1-2 million hours which is 110 to 220 years and this one is no different either.
But all SSDs have another limitation which is not much publicized, and that is.... endurance. If you write and erase too much data on an SSD continously, its NVRAM cells start to fail. There is always a limitation how much data can be written on an SSD and how many times. That is endurance, and it's expressed in TBW or "total bytes written" with an unit in Terabytes or TB. For this Kingston model, its TBW is very low - just 80 TB. Though in a practical world, 80 TB is a lot of data and if you keep writing 50GB of data per day, this SSD will still last for more than 4 years, but there are other more expensive brands and models which offer several times more endurance. A screenshot of the datasheet for this model from Kingston's own website is attached with this review.
Why did I buy this SSD if better models are available at a higher price? It's because I am using it in an old laptop which is not in a great condition. For me, a life of 2 to 3 years will be more than enough, so I wanted to spend as little as possible. Good SSD
The SSD is good. It took only 6 mins to install windows 10 on it. However, don't get carried away with the speeds mentioned above (6gb/s n ol). The speed of data transfer is about 80 MB/s at par with other internal ssd's. Overall it pumped fresh life in my 3.5 yrs old laptop and now it's working super fast.

Stopped working after 2 days!
After installing it , It worked really good for the first few days , performace was really good but on the third day I was using my pc when there was a sudden power cut, when the power came back I turned on my pc , to my surprise the ssd was dead, I tried everything from changing the SATA ports, cable nothing worked. My other 2 hard drives were working fine as they were detected in the bios. This power cut situation has happened with me many times when used my hdds but they always worked fine when turned back on.
Performance wise ssd is fine but I really doubt its durability.
I also lost the bill and packaging , I guess I'm stuck with this dead ssd now.

Amazon choice ..before you suggest verify pls... this is my second disappointment with amazon
I buyed this ssd ... before one month...but its not worthy then i thought... my ssd continuesly have errors... several times its restart..i loss my datas...i try to solve and check the issue of my other hardware but all are fine...so people buy before check the reviews and users suggestions...so dnt waste money

My old Acer laptop is now TRANSFORMED!
I have completely upgraded my old acer laptop to a brand new specification now.
Replaced i3 processor with i7
Replaced 4GB RAM with 16GB RAM
Replaced 1TB primary HDD with 240 SSD as primary. (Using 1TB HDD as secondary on my laptop using a HDD Caddy.)
Replaced 1GB Nvidia GT 720 Graphic Card with 3GB Nvidia GTX 1060.
Now my Acer E1-571G laptop is transformed into a High Performance GAMING LAPTOP!
Replaced i3 processor with i7

Kingston is a popular electronic storage company and with a bit of research on SSD, I cam to finalize this over Seagate and green WD SSD's as this is faster than them.

2. Read speed is about four times higher than an HDD and importantly write speed is significantly higher in real world speed, win10 loaded in about 9secs and Blender in about 3secs. Video editor requires your more SSD space but this SSD worked fast for small edits.
3. It's lightweight as any SSD and felt easy to install, it is electronic storage meant I just attached connectors and left hand over the HDD without fastening on the desktop cabinet.

Fast and efficient. Best use of my money for booting macOS in my mac mini 2014
I bought this ssd along with the orico ssd cover which is giving phenomenal results for my mac mini 2014 version. I installed my macOS catalina on it and reduced the booting, app opening times close to 20sec atleast. Earlier internal 1tb HDD would have taken close to 1.30mins to open up compared to now which takes a mere 30 -35 sec to boot up. Opening any creative adobe apps would have taken 1.30-2mins earlier has now been reduced to mere 20sec. This has given significant results as I have a quite old mac mini from 2014 and installing this ssd makes it comparable to most of the macbook pros i had used from 2017 version.
tl;dr
- Close your eye and buy the product if you want to make this as your external booting drive.
- Reduction in app opening time if you are installing any creative apps from adobe
- Data transfer is close to 80-100mps which makes it quite effective

Coming to the main point. It made my HP 15 BS145TU laptop powered by Intel i5 8th gen 10 times faster. Boot speed is good, GTA V stuttering is gone. I am impressed with the product.
I am using it as my Primary Disc and i have installed the HDD on a 2nd HDD Caddy and believe me it works.
HDD in caddy doesn't make it slow at all. Atleast in the new laptops.
If your both HDD and SSD is not detected by the laptop try to fix the Caddy properly. It took me 2 hours to fit it properly. Finally i got it done. And before installing the SSD don't forget to make a new USB bootable drive of Windows 10 or 8 since fresh installing on an SSD is better than Cloning the existing drive.

Value for money SSD
I purchased this SSD as a replacement for my 5+ year old laptop to boost up the responsivness. After successful replacement the response boost is great. From above 3mins of Windows 10 startup time it has come down to less than 30 seconds. It was a pleasant surprise since my laptop has a basic configuration i.e. intel i3 3rd generation processor, 8 GB RAM and I was not anticipating such increase in responsiveness not only in boot-up time but also for other applications too like crome browser, Microsoft Office suites. I have another newer i7 6th Gen, 12 GB, 256 GB SSD lap top too and for general browsing and working on MS office suites I do not see much difference in responsiveness of both, may be the newer one is couple of seconds faster but that is about it.
I had to clone my existing HDD for which I used free version of "macrium reflect" software, I got the reccomendation to use this from Kingston Technologies A400 youtube chanel comment section. The software did not disappoint me as the cloning was smooth from existing 512 GB HDD to the new 480 GB Kingston SSD. During cloning I realized that a good number of hidden partitions were created by Lenovo to probably store system backup data. I had to deselect precreated D: drive (that stored all the drivers) to adjust to the reduced size and then later drag and drop to the destinantion that re-adjusted the D: drive.
After cloning I simply replaced my old HDD with the new SSD and booted the laptop. I was anticipating to make changes to recognize new SSD via BIOS settings but this was not needed at all as the cloning software or the boot time device registration and recognition plug and play software did its job and first time boot was seamless as if nothing had happened.

Best option for HDD upgrade :-)
I wish to upgrade my 10 yrs old laptop with this SSD which had starting problem. After installing this SSD and Windows 7, the booting speed is Good and applications opening timings are very much better. Worth for Money and cheaper than Samsung
If you want to improve your speed of your laptop go for this SSD blindly. Just plug and play type and no need to look for service center help.

My motherboard worked like fatherboard after installing this SSD.
I have installed this SSD on my asus laptop by myself . And after installing this My Laptop started running very fast I have to hire a helicopter to match the speed . The ssd is pretty cheap and Value for money. Reduced boot time to 4.8 sec. I have not used this in gaming so can't comment on that , But For normal use Its great chrome and firefox will open in less than a sec. I Can feel the difference from day 1 and I can say it was worth spending the money. It also helped in increasing battery life of my laptop. Previously my laptop takes 3-4 min only to boot up . and then lagging and hanging was regular problem. My last HDD can't handle more than 3 chrome tabs, And after this I am able to use more than 15 chrome tabs simultaneously .
Overall Its a great product and is value for money I purchased this @2311 AT prime day.
I reccomend this product go for this without any hesitation

Great Value for your money!
This SSD is the most affordable one on the market and for the price it's giving expected and great performance. I've a 240 gb nvme m.2 ssd which is the boot drive and a 1tb hdd. I primarily only use this SSD for gaming because my m.2 one was becoming full. The load times for the games are significantly faster than a hdd. For eg, games like witcher 3 and ac origins took 1 to 1 1/2 mins to load but with this SSD the load under 40-50 seconds. Obviously for gaming your specs also matter but for the price i wholeheartedly recommend this SSD.

Great product, especially considering the price at which it is being sold. Great speeds, was only able to test it via external USB 3.1 which allowed 300MB/sec R/W, which means it would be faster when connected directly to the motherboard via IDE/SCSI. Comes "raw", so you need to make partitions, so don't be surprised when it does not show up on your Windows computer when you plug in as you need to partition and then assign a drive letter. Very happy with it

I bought the SSD to make my old PC faster.
Kingston, I am a fanboy of Kingston; since the day I got my first RAM from Kingston back about 2011, and still using them. Earlier SSDs were costly but recently, so I bought this item twice from TPS Technologies. I used this one to make my old PC faster and ready for Windows 10. This is a 240 GB SSD but after format I got 223 GB of space, which was OK with NTFS. Because NTFS takes that much space to keep various information. After installing Windows 10, the PC responded faster then I expected, it went like FLASH! I never used any other SSD but this Kingston SSD seemed to be perfect for any user with budget accessory. It comes with Kingston SSD Health monitory software downloadable from Kingston site.

NOT RECOMMENDED Slow speed doesnt match the description
As the SSD in the description is shown the speed, Capacity: 240GB, Interface: SATA Rev. 3.0 (6Gb/s) – with backwards compatibility to SATA Rev. 2.0. 240GB — 500MB/s read and 350MB/s write. It is not up to the mark that the SSD is not showing the described speed I don't know its happened to me only or others face this too, Anyway its okay for an upgrade to and old PC But don't expect too much as shown in the description.

WOW.. Amazing Drive
Wow.. just WOW! I was planning to buy a new laptop as my current one Dell Inspiron 3567 is 3 years old and took 4 mins just to boot up. Tried reinstalling the OS, which improved my boot time to 2.5 mins but working on the laptop was drag.. it was so slow.. A friend (I refer to him as angle now) suggested me to just upgrade my HDD to this SSD.. fixed at home (thanks to youtube tutorials), it was like a breeze.. this drive fixed exactly in the old drive space and performace.. am bowled.. my boot time is now 20 secs.. :)

Ставил на материнку GIGABYTE H510M S2H V2, купил максимум допустимого объема, проверил модель RAM по таблице совместимости на сайте производителя материнок.
До этого стояли две планки AMD Radeon R9 Gamer Series [R948G3206U2S-U] 8 ГБ.
Сходу система не завелась. Оказалось, что в BIOS был указано напряжение для памяти 1,35В. Видимо, настройка осталась от экспериментов. Это допустимое напряжение для старой памяти, но не подходящее для новой - нужно 1,2В.
Перенастройка на AUTO решила вопрос, все заработало.

Покупал в рабочий компьютер. В компе плата GA-AB350M-DS3H V2 (rev. 1.1) с возможностью установки до 4-х планок памяти. На оф.сайте написано поддерживает до 64 Гб оперативки. Модуль на 32 гига завелся и работает в 4-м слоте. Возможно, что плата держит не документировано 128 Гиг (не проверял).

На матери MSI на чипсете B660 разогнал до 3600Мгц 18-20-20 при 1.35В. Считаю хорошим результатом для бюджетной памяти, особенно если сравнить со штатными 22-22-22. Можно было погнать и выше, при худших таймингах, но AIDA показала прирост по скорости в 2% - не стал заморачиваться. При напряжении 1.35В еле теплая, о радиаторах даже не стал задумываться.

Поставил и сразу всё поднялось. Нередко ранее приходилось на материнских платах выполнять CMOS Reset, чтобы распознались две планки. Тут такого не наблюдал. Возможно, это зависит и от материнской платы тоже.

В последнее время стала часто монтировать видео и поняла, что мой компьютер с этой задачей плохо справляется. В сервисе посоветовали увеличить оперативку и порекомендовали для этих целей Kingston Valueram KVR32N22D8. Установили 2 по 32 гига на запас, пользуюсь уже две недели. Конечно, разница колоссальная: монтировать ролики стало проще. Свободно переключаюсь между Фотошопом, Премьер Про, браузером с кучей открытых вкладок, еще и музыку параллельно скачиваю. Ни разу еще ничего не зависло, так что данная оперативка однозначно ожидания оправдывает, рекомендую

Завелась из коробки на 3200, без бубнов (плата из серии ASUS TUF Gaming B550). Разгонять пока не стал. Одна плашка в системе, одноканал, поэтому насчёт скорости ничего сказать не могу. Субъективно - всё хорошо, игрушки летают.
