This ram has managed to stop a lot of my games from crashing (mass effect, and fallout (3 and NV) primarily), and I have had no problem with it up to this point. I see no reason to dislike this product.

As a retired hardware designer, I have to take issue with the review which takes a gratuitous swipe at Crucial, lest some avoid buying from an excellent vendor. In general, Crucial (Micron) is well regarded as a quality provider of memory devices. Crucial is not who I think of when I look for a "least cost source". In fact, I was just pricing this same memory at Crucial for my home Apple G5 Xserve - and while I haven't yet made a close check of the specs, the Crucial price was almost double the price of the Kingston. In the case of the "lab" the reviewer worked for trying to cut costs, it seems more likely that the cost differential (i.e. the Crucial price being lower) was a result of an error in selecting the correct memory for the system in use, than that it was a result of Crucial being a price leader. The fact that ALL of the Crucial parts generated a "blue screen" outcome borders on demonstrative proof of an error in specifying the part. It is unfortunate that we do not have all of the facts in hand so that we could validate this reported issue, but until something persuades me otherwise I will continue to look at Crucial as a provider of choice. I believe that you will find many others with significant expertise in this area share this view. Unfortunately, many consumers mis-understand some of the specs, or make other errors that cause them problems, and then blame the vendor. Even many who consider themselves "technical" know less about the topic than they might imagine, and to be fair to them, it can be a fairly complex body of information. To the commenter who asked about Corsair, they are not a memory manufacturer like Crucial/Micron, they are a wholesaler/branding company. IIRC, they purchase primarily from Micron (i.e. Crucial) and Samsung. Since their target demographic seems to be the "performance" crowd, I would expect their products would be fine, and I believe I may even have some of their memory in a couple of my personal systems. I hope this information is helpful to you. As a final observation regarding Crucial, I have a number of servers running with 16 gb each of Crucial ram running 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and I have no complaints with the product. I have also used Kingston from time to time when that was what was readily available and have had no complaints with them, but I still have a preference for Crucial in mission critical applications. YMMV.

This purchase was long overdue. My computer was running slow but it wasn't so bad that it bothered me much. Then I installed Office 2007... That was a big whack on memory usage, and it brought my computer to it's knees. Add to that the 3 IP security cameras, big honking digital images, iPod, and everything else we expect from our computers, and I was sitting staring at a cursor for minutes at a time.I bought 4 1-GB cards. They came in two days. I cracked open my computer, snapped out the measley 512MB (two cards) and snapped in these four bad-boys.No kidding, I closed the box, reconnected the power cord and booted it. The only thing that was different was the quick message that I had 4GB of memory, and the machine was up and running many times faster than before.Where my hard drive used to sound like a washing machine (and take about as long as a large load) now it's mostly silent and my computer screams by comparision to before. I should have done this years ago!Great Price - Easy Upgrade - Painless!

kingston is all it has to say, allways been the best quallity. And you will trually get the full 512 mg with some cheaper brands as not allways the case. great quallity part to add to any computer.

I have had a Dell Dimension 8300 running MS Windows XP for several years now, and most recently it has been running almost every application extremely slow. I received numerous warnings of low virtual memory while the harddrive ran constantly. We use McAfee virus software, Yahoo Messenger, and also watch streaming video of television stations from around the world, all of which use a lot of RAM. I confirmed that the computer only had 500Meg of original RAM, but it required up to 1G peak filling the difference with harddrive virtual memory. I checked the Dell website for recommended memory upgrades and ordered 2 of these Kingston Tech 1GB 400MHz DDR Non-ECC memory modules which met the specifications. After I plugged in the memory modules in two of the possible four module locations, the computer acknowledged a memory change and booted with no issues or futher changes required. My memory problems were solved, and the computer runs great now. I expect I will be ordering two more to fill the remaining memory locations.

I received the memory in a decent amount of time, shut down my computer and installed the memory chips all within a half hour. I had gone from 333mb to 1.8gb in half hour. Works great so far.

Perhaps I just got a bad one but on installing it, my system crashed. Took it out, everything loaded fine. Re-installed it > everything crashed again > returned it.

The DDR was received within 3 days of my order. I installed it, turn the PC back on and it had been working perfect ever since. Over 7 weeks now and no issue. My PC speed is up to the roof. I can work multiple applications: burn a CD, download and still browse fine, with a CPU usage reading less than 9%. I'm completely happy with my product. I definetely recommend this seller.

Did not seem to work or, at best, worked intermittently. I have a 512mb stick which is essentially identical except for capacity. I thought, at first, that that it would not work because I paired it with the 512 stick but it also failed alone. The errors occurred during boot. Would not find the system disk and, also, some other error which I can't remember.

What a breath of free air for my Dell Dimension 2400. Installed without no problems in less than 5 minutes. Too bad motherboard only supports 2 gb. Would be interesting to see how 3gb of ram works. Highly recommended. Going to buy a few more for my mini itx board which supports only up to 1gb ram. Just awesome!!!!

I bought the RAM as a much needed upgrade for my Dell Dimension 4600. I was moving up from 256 MB of RAM to the 2GB kit here. It consists of 2 1GB PC3200 sticks. They installed flawlessly and the system recognized the changes immediately. I have not had any problems with the system since installing the RAM a few months back and all is well. The system speed has improved drastically and I might have to purchase this item again to bring the computer up to 4GB. So far the system handles the resource hogs Firefox 3, Photoshop CS3, Microsoft office 2007, and Solidworks 2008 all at once in a very well manner.There isn't much else to say about RAM so this is all, but I hope the review is helpful.

Used this to upgrade my mother's computer which still only had 256MB. The performance increase was expected but there's no high intensity programs being run. I've generally had good experience with Kingston memory products so this is just another one.

I own a Dell Dimension 4600 Intel chip at 2.8GHz with 512MB RAM running WinXP. Wanted to upgrade to more memory so I bought this Kingston 1GB. Came in less than 1 week with free shipping. Plugged it in as soon as I received it, powered on my PC and it works like a champ. So far no problems. Can't get any easier than this when it comes to upgrading your PC. I have heard that it is better to buy in pairs of the same size and brand name due to slight differences in voltage, etc. However, I have mixed different memory sizes and brand names with older Dells that I own and have never had any problems, at least not yet.

Amazon had about the best price for this memory that I could find anywhere. Substantially lower than big box stores and competitive with other on-line retailers. The product was as-described and works as-advertised. I do not see much difference in my computer speed with upgrading from 768Mb to 2G. I don't think this is a problem with the product, I think it is due to MS and a 4+ yr old computer.Overall, I am satisfied with this purchase.

Provided your motherboard is compatible with CL3 memory this stick is great. It is for older motherboards (400 mhz) obviously. But if your not ready to upgrade your motherboard, I highly recommend Kingston memory cards. It has worked fantastically for my older machine!

This RAM worked great, slotted right in with the ram I already had for my old P4 machine. It's 2.6V if that helps any. I couldn't find this information on the page, so hopefully that helps those who are needing something in a specific volt range.

Though, i had purchased this item before but didnt recieve it through USPS before, this time around when i purchashed this item it seemed to be delayed for a week after the due date of delivery i waited 7 more days like your suppose too, though still no delivery, i called amazon and got a replacement order because it turns out that the usps does not deliver it to your door rather put it in your mailbox, which is bad, this time i awaited for the mail to arrive just as promised by amazon, this seems to be A USPS problem and not Amazon problem, people tend to love stealing mail through your mailbox. hmm federal affense lol, but other than that, the product itself goes well with Sony VAIO's that accept 3200 400MHz, and is perfect for pentium 4 gaming machines that want to run Crysis. i am very satisied with this product and the fact the price has droped and free shipping makes this product a must have. If i were amazon i change the shipping method to fed ex.

I used this kit to update an HP dc7100 dual core desktop from 512 to 2.5GB. This made a world of difference running Vista SP1. For those of you out there contemplating installing Vista SP1 on a 3-4 y/o desktop, you will need much more ram than with Win XP, but it does work OK. Newegg was cheaper by $7.00 though.

I installed these cards into what most people would consider to be a cheap knockoff, eMachines c6535 It has four total Ram sockets with a max of 4gb two open RAM sockets just waiting for more power.the computer originaly came with 512mb in two 256mb cards. I added the 2gb and now my machine says 2.36 gb.Good enough for me I just opened her up, Popped open the end tabs on the memory slots, Grounded my self and slipped those puppies right into the slots. I locked everthing down and started her up. BINGO! . I've upgraded my RAM !!! I used Kingston mini Rams in an old HP laptop in the past and the windows just flew across the sreen. The price here at Amazon was almost 6 bucks cheaper with free shipping.Can't ask for more !KINGSTON ROCKS !!!!

Kingston value memory(pc3200 400mhz DDR2) should work in all but the most demanding situations. I am using this memory in a server that runs 24/7. So if it's good there it should work anywhere. Product was delivered quickly and on time as promised. I would by here again.

This item was ordered and received in excellent condition and it was 100% compatible with my system but was not compatible with my existing RAM chip. Turns out my RAM was an older RAM chip and had memory only on one side and this one had memory on both sides so my system would not read both of them when they were installed. Check you existing chipset to make sure it has memory on both sides before you order this. I ended up installing a 1GB chipset in one slot.

The ValueRAM arrived quickly from Amazon, was exactly as described, and has worked flawlessly. The installation truly was as easy as opening the case, cleaning the dust bunnies (good advice any time you have the computer case open), flipping open the little RAM retaining clips, and clicking it into place.When the computer restarted it recognized the new RAM, and has run like a champ ever since.

This product did help my computer run slightly faster, especially when it starts up. I would not say that there has been a major improvement, but considering I only had 256 MB of memory ram, the 1GB adddition has been worth it.

I got this memory for my Dell optiplex 260 desktop. The product installation was a breeze. Take out the old memory and put in the new ones and turn on the system. The memory was immediately recognized and I could see the difference in speed in running my applications immediately. Best product for the money.

I've been using this memory in my Dell desktop for a couple weeks now and all seems to be working well. Programs load faster and I am able to have more applications open at the same time. I am not sure if this has happened to other buyers, but the shipping of the product by Amazon was very poor. They boxed the memory into a very large box and threw a couple air pillows into the package. When I got the package, the box was scrunched, and both memory sticks were out of their small memory package and just bouncing around inside the box. So much for the electro-static protection. I was not happy. They need to re-train their shipping staff. Would have been safer to just mail it to me in a darn envelope....
