I have very acute hearing--my tests go off the charts. When I bought a new TV recently the speaker inside the TV was grossly inadequate. I had heard these speakers in the home of a hearing impaired family--the Dad had bought a set for his daughters who are able to hear. So, I ordered a set to connect to my bedroom TV. I've been very pleased with the audio quality. Easy set up; simple operation. The most difficult part was plugging them into the TV set.

For the price these speakers work fine. My wife does not listen to music very loud on her computer. If you are looking for something you can really turn up these are not the ones. But for everyday listening they are good.

I purchased these JBL speakers to replace my iMac's stock poor sounding speakers. The JBL's do put out excellent sound quality for the most part. They have buzzed once - When I checked the line - their was some dust on the male contact prong. I used some can air and blew the dust off. It then returned to normal. I have played all types of music through them from classical to rap and it all sounds good and clear and when turned up quite loud for a little set. Does not get distorted when turned up. I do have a few gripes. The duet plug has this huge box on the outlet is that really necessary? Why can't it have a normal size plug? I had to get a whole new outlet tree to support this plug! The speakers also have this REALLY annoying GREEN power light on each speaker. I used a piece of tape to cover them up. Also, the volume/power switch on the right speaker is difficult to grab. I have to pick the whole speaker up every time and use two hands to turn it on or off. Otherwise my computer looks like a xmas tree with all the colored lights on it.

When they work they work great. Full sound, way way better than the build in speakers. After about 6 months I started to have to tweak with the audio cable because only 1 speaker was working. The tweaking started to be needed more often until it stopped working and I could hear sound only from 1 speaker. So I bought a new pair of speakers hoping that I just got a defective pair (and also because they are so inexpensive). After the first 6 months when they worked great now I have to tweak again with the cable because they stop working (this time both of them, even more annoying, especially when I am far from the laptop cooking and sentences get cut in the middle of my listening). It is not a problem with my laptop because when I use headset I never have issues.Now I am shopping for a new pair, no I will not buy these for the third time.

Bottom line, the sound is so bad my wife told me to return them. They sound like the free speakers included with a PC.I bought these based on the reviews here, but unfortunately they sounds awful. They aren't good for the price, which is very high for the quality.It isn't the lack of bass, I expected that. I wasn't expecting these to sound as good as my big JBL speakers (L100T). I was expected them to have undistorted sound, and to be better than an intercom.I ended up spending $100 on better speakers, not wanting to get sucked into a succession of not-good-enoughs

These are used on my macbook and the sound is a great improvement on the built in speakers. The color matches the mac and my printer so it even looks cool. They do not take up much room and install easily. The cord connecting to the input on the mac is just a tad loose, but I can live with that. For use on a laptop, these are very good and I am quite satisfied.

My original review of this product was rather different. The only thing remaining the same was the chassis build, which is misleading. (plastic with aluminum-gray paint. Not aluminum metal. Make 'em cheap and build up the landfill, hot diggity!)Trebles are really well-reproduced. Midtones are fair, but bass is virtually nonexistent. (60-20000Hz frequency range.) This is a good set for apartment-dwellers but if you want deep throbbing bass goodness, you won't find it here.Longevity is another issue. Mine started developing a slight buzzing noise. I didn't like it. I mean, some people might like the buzz, but I really don't. I don't even like the buzz that comes from drinking booze.At $30 or less, these would make a great value. But they aren't quite the greatest speakers to hit the market...

I agree with some of the earlier reviewers that these speakers are well worth the cost. JBL and Harmon have gotten together to create a cheap speaker set for people who care about sound and don't have a lot of money.Qualification: I bought these speakers to install in my truck as mp3 player speakers--I live in a neighborhood with a lot of tweakers, and my stereo was stolen out of my truck twice in a month--and I would not recommend these for car use.Perfect for computers indoors, as there is enough bass to hear the entire spectrum, but definitely not for bass players who want to hear their own playing!BUZZING: Some people have complained about a buzzing sound with these speakers. When I plugged them into my truck, they buzzed very badly. If I were to keep them in there, I would have had to ground them out somehow. That is why they're buzzing...They are not grounded. If you take a piece of wire and wrap the metal tip of the cord bridging the computer to the speakers, and then attach that wire to a grounding agent, like a table leg or something, the buzzing should go away. There was no buzzing when I plugged them into my laptop.I am listening to them right now, and they have depth, clarity, and more low end than I am used to from pc speakers, although again, really these speakers do not have very much bass at all. Just below the level I would consider enough, and that's why I only give these four out of five stars. The mid to high end are superb.Overall a good product.

Extremely happy with this purchase! Contacted seller with shipping question and actually received response same day. Made the purchase and speakers arrived in less than one week! Product were sold as advertised and I am happy to have decent sound from my Apple Mac Book Pro notebook.

The sound is very crisp and clear.I have bought several speakers for my desk top pc and these were by far the best I hav ever owned. The price was excellent, I paid more for other brands that sounded bad and didn't have the clarity of these the volume knob's stiff but Im sure it will lossen up with use.

This are the best computer speakers for under $50, and this is under $40. Only 1 little thing the pitch sleeps but you can fix it with a rubber band.

Easy connection, takes up little space, good complement to laptop, excellent sound. May not have the bass that some would wish, but it's adequate. Sound of an orchestra firing up is great. Highly recommend.

I was reading all the good reviews thinking these would be a good all around speakers. I like the idea of 2 speakers with no subwoofer. I don't know where these people get their speakers but mine from this site has no bass at all! I tried all the setting I can find on Windows 7, and all the mixers that came with all the application. There is just no bass out of them!! For this price point there are much better ones out there.

The speakers reached me in good time, in good shape and well packaged. I was very anxious to find out if they would be afflicted with the dreaded "buzzing" that people here have complained about, but thankfully, no such issues at all... let's hope that this is one quality defect that JBL have learnt of and fixed by design.The sound quality is more than what I would normally expect from 2 tiny speakers such as these, and even though i'm not obsessed with bass... it does a good job all the same. More than sufficient for filling up a small room, and the reproduction of sound is nothing you would complain about.They look good, they sound good and I think I bought it at a fair price, so there we go!

I bought these based on reviews by others. Overall they're fine. They look good and they hooked up fine. But I guess, based on what others said, I expected better, richer sound quality. Frankly, my old Dell speakers (with subwoofer) sounded considerably better. I got a new iMac, so I wanted new speakers to go with it. I'm just not all that impressed. Others talk about the rich sound and great bass... Really? Oh well. You win some, you lose some. Like I said, they're alright. Just not as great as I thought they would be.

The speakers worked great for their cost and size, but after about a year the A/C adapter started shorting out. Maybe if you keep them stationary then it won't be so much of a problem, but if you move them around alot the wire on the A/C adapter wears easily.

I've been looking for a quality pair of computer speakers for quite some time now. After reading about the JBL speakers, and going by the reviews, I decided to buy the speakers without ever hearing them. It's true!!! These speakers produce a full bodied, well mixed, and totally satisfying sound generated directly from my computer. The sound coming out of these small but elegant speakers blow other high value, high profile speakers out of the water. The comments others made about using two hands to turn the volume control knob are true. However, it takes so little energy and effort this should not even be a consideration. Don't wait... buy a pair. You won't be disappointed.

I purchased the JBL Duet speakers for my wife's netbook. They are easy to install and have a simple on/off volume control on the top of the right speaker. The best part is the sound. It is truly amazing for such a small pair of speakers. My wife has thanked me several times for finding these. I based it on speakers for under $100.00 that had the best rating. This is why I am reviewing this too. I'd like to add our vote for these speakers being very good and hopefully others will enjoy them like we are based on the many reviews for this product.

I purchased these speakers for use with a new IMAC desktop computer. They sound significantly better than the built in speakers at all volume levels. They do have the range of frequency limitations expected with a light weight 2 piece speaker system but provide a good clean sound when watching videos and listening to music in a 10' by 12' room. The shape and size of the speakers, when placed beside the IMAC compliment the look of the computer, and have not caused any interference with either the computer or an external hard drive which is in close proximity to the left speaker. I recommend these speakers for someone looking for a 2.0 sound system with an attractive design, a small footprint, and the ability to fill a small room with smooth clear sound.

For the price of these speakers, they are simply amazing! I've experienced no buzz, as some reviewers have stated. I would honestly recommend these speakers to anyone.

These speakers are an amazing value as the sound is terrific for the price. The one downside is the chrome volume nob is so slippery it is hard to turn it without using two hands to exert more pressure to get it to turn. But at this price you cannot do better.

I own other JBL products and I'm quite pleased with them, however I've noticed that I always have to get a replacement due to dents or defects with JBL's product - these speakers are no exception. I purchased a cheap-y pair of speakers at radio shack some 2 years ago, and the wiring started to go on them. The sound would only come out of one speaker unless you fiddle around with the cord. O.K. time to replace the cheap-y's and upgrade to the slightly more JBL's. Well, I go to play them and guess what? Sound comes out of one speaker only. I tried several different outputs, different computers, directly from my iphone, yet sound only comes out of one speaker. I want to keep them so I've requested a like for like replacement, but it's unfortunate that JBL sticks to their standard protocol - to make every other item they manufacture faulty in some respect. Great product, but too bad for the lack on consistent quality.
