- + Быстро и качественно сканирую старые фотопленки.
- - а) не отключаемая автоматика (устройство автоматически определяет экспозицию, и если какие-либо параметры не соответствуют нормативу - изображение на монитор не выводится);
б) маленький монитор (налипшую пыль можно увидеть не оперативно, а только при последующей компьютерной обработке);
в)...

- + В наследство досталась большая коробка слайдов. Даже не знал что с ними делать, нести в фото салон что бы оцифровали лень да и отбирать из такого огромного кол-ва по приоритетам тоже не хотелось. Вот и кочевали они у меня по всем углам и в конце концов оказались на дачи))), выбросить то жалко, все таки память. Но случайно наткнулся на чудо вещь, где?, не буду писать, дабы не сочли за рекламу. Теперь я счастливый...

- + классно, можно сразу все скидывать на сд-карту. и еще хорошо, что есть предварительный просмотр.
- - приходится потом конечно дорабатывать качество картинок, но что поделать, если исходники такие
Удобная штука, когда не знаешь, куда деть кучу фотопленок, оставшуюся в наследство. а выбрасывать так жалко, все-таки воспоминания.

If you are planning on scanning slides, the most important thing you need to know is that there are two different models, which appear to be sold under the same name and UPC. One (and only one) of those models comes with the Rapid Slide Feeder accessory. It's a stack loader which inserts into the right side, holds 20+ slides, and lets you do the slides at 5-10 seconds each. Without the Rapid Slide Feeder, you load 3 slides at a time into a tray. Unfortunately Ion's picture of the Film2SD does not show the loader, but you can see what it looks like if you look at their Slides2PC mk iii. Ion SLIDES2PC 35mm Photo Negative and Slide Converter to PC As near as I can tell, the only way to tell which model is which is to look at the front of the box to see if the film2sd has a stack of slides in the attached feeder.I've run over 2000 slides through the feeder so far, and I'll say that this is a decent but not professional grade scanner. Scans slides in a few seconds each, produces 2400x1600 images on the included SD card. The automatic exposure adjustment works very well, although going from a normal slide to a dark one or back, you'll need to wait a few seconds for it to adjust. It's worth the wait.There are some inconveniences. The display has a very low visibility angle. I wound up sticking a couple of .5 inch feet on the front to tilt it back so I could see the display better. There is a standard video output available, so you can hook it up to a tv. If you are using the feeder, you need to set the unit up on something so there's enough room for ejected slides to pile up under the left side. And it only does horizontal orientation, so all those slides you rotated to vertical for projecting will have to get put back to horizontal. In fact, if you don't rotate them, they are somewhat likely to jam the feeder.

I had 1500 of my dad's slides to scan because they were starting to get mold and it makes sense to save them digitally. It is a little tricky to figure out how to use this scanner but once you memorize all of the icons it goes pretty fast. My first ION quit working so I sent it back and they sent me a rebuilt one. Well this one did not work at all so I sent this one back also. Finally they sent me another one and this worked fine for quite a while. Before I finished this project the scanner fell of my desk and broke. So this time I bought another one because they are fairly cheap and I wanted a brand new one. I have had this one ever since and it has worked perfectly.The only problem with this scanner is that the image that you get is not real sharp and colorful like you see when use use a slide viewer. I had to tweak each slide with the exposure and the color and this would make it better but still not anywhere near the original.

I had read the product reviews on the web before I ordered this item, and it seemed that some users were disappointed. However, the price was so reasonable (bargain from Amazon: $30 total), I thought it worth a try. I bought a larger SD card that cost almost as much as the ION FILM2SD scanner!When I received the ION FILM2SD 35mm Film and Slide Scanner, it took about 2 minutes to assemble and I was ready to go, but the exact means of scanning onto the SD card and then connecting to my iMac by a USB cable was a mystery. It took a couple more minutes with the manual before I started to use it, and the manual was straightforward and simple; the scanner is extremely easy to use. In just a few minutes of use, I found that:* This is so much faster and easier than scanning in photos using a flatbed scanner - there is no comparison!* If you don't clean off your slides, the quality of the image is "dirty" or "hairy" or whatever the condition of the slide (both sides).* Be certain to insert the slide so that its aspect ratio is aligned with that of the scanner or the image gets clipped.* I don't know how to lock in the claimed 5 Mpixel resolution, because the size of the scans varied no matter what I did.* I didn't find the FLIP and MIRROR buttons of much use, so when I imported the slides to the iMac, I occasionally had to use photoshop to FLIP or MIRROR to get the photo right side up and left side left.* The transfer of the images to the computer using the USB cable turned out much faster than I expected. Not screaming fast, just OK-fast.* On rare occasions, a slide wouldn't feed properly, so I just pulled the feeder and manually extracted it and started over.* The ability to stack a number of 35mm slides in the holder and quickly scan them repetitively was a wonderful feature.In spite of my unfamiliarity with the scanner, in a couple of hours, I had scanned maybe 150 slides, imported them into the computer, Photoshopped them to properly aligned them, and improve the color and light balance of the images. Sometimes I found the slides weren't as clean as I thought and I just Photoshopped the scratches or specks rather than try to find and rescan the 35mm slide.The manual hinted that there was a film holder as well, but mine was not shipped with one. A shame, because I would really have liked to try that.Overall, the ION FILM2SD 35mm Film and Slide Scanner is a fun product that allowed me to digitally remaster some family slides from the 1950's through the 1980's. They were like lost memories that somehow magically reentered your mind in full and vivid color.

This scanner has done a great job converting my parents' slides to digital images. It does pick up dust easily, but is not hard to clean with the included cleaner wand. I can only do 25 slides at once, then I have to move them off the scanner storage onto my own disk. I tried going direct to computer and using a usb card but couldn't get those to work. The 25 slide limitation has been fine for most sets, except for the ones my parents stored in the projector, those I had to break into 4 groups. I do wish the viewer window was bigger, or that I could zoom in, as I sometimes don't find out until viewing on a computer screen that I scanned a slide backwards. It's easy to fix with the scanner if you know you've done it - there are flip, reverse and turn options. Well worth the cost!

I purchased this scanner so I could see my 500 slides on my HTPC. Various stores were charging $17 per first 50 slides and 29 cents for each additional slide on a dvd. I scanned the slides onto the SD card and then uploaded them thru my Canon camera then used the Canon software to correct Auto adjustment, Brightness etc. It did a perfect job. The tray holds 4 slides at a time and was easy to use. You could even use the included video cable to view the slides on a monitor. Excellent product..I highly recommend it.
