Плохо

I saw a lot of good reviews on this and some less favorable ones also, but this one seemed to fit my needs. I do use this in a normal computer and not a video box, so that should be noted before taking my advice. First off, I am not taking away stars for what this board does or doesn't have. It does not have IDE, PS2, or regular VGA and nowhere does it state that it does so in doing my homework about the types of drives and peripherals I would need, I was already aware. Before I go into what I do not like, for what it's worth I have a bachelors in Information Technology, have been building computers for over 15 years, and currenlty work in an enterprise IT department, so I wouldn't think someone like me would have tech related issues with this product. So, my setup is 8GB of DDR2-800 6-6-6 from 2 different manufaturers and that aspect works fine. I was also able to run 4x4GB OCZ DDR2-800 5-5-5 with no issues. I believe the Intel site doesn't list support for 16GB (4GB DIMMs), however one of their updated documents says is does support 4GB sticks with CAS latecies of 5 or 6. My processor is an Intel E8400, 1 DVD-RAM RW DL, 1 750GB SATA II drive, no add-on cards, a USB Belkin N+ adapter, wireless keyboard/mouse, Win 7 64 bit Enterprise, and a 400W Antec PSU that should probably be upgraded. I use the HDMI for my display with an HDMI to DVI cable and the graphics are OK but seem a little choppy to me at times. I do not game or consistently watch hi res movies from this box. It serves as my primary PC for the whole household. All that said my two major issues are with the BIOS and sound drivers and some minor issues with the I/O plate and accessories. First off, my mobo came with the original BIOS from 2 years ago. There have since been 2 revisions (at the time I installed) and if you are going to run Win 7 64 bit you will need the updated BIOS. Although given several options, the BIOS update process isn't as smooth as I've had with other mobos (MSI, BIOSTAR, ASUS) and at one point I thought the mobo died and I would have to RMA, but a couple of power cycles seemed to get everything on track. After bringing the BIOS up to date I noticed how slow the BIOS loads. It seems to take longer to load the BIOS splash screen than to load the OS after the BIOS is done so I am stuck looking at a pixelated Intel logo for a several seconds but it seems significatntly longer. The BIOS also doesn't have a lot of the features seen with the other mobos mentioned before. Overall, I find the BIOS very user un-friendly.The sound drivers are another issue. There are some updated ones on the Intel site, but none of them have worked well with Win 7 64 bit Enterprise for me. The issue I am having is that if I start streaming a video off YouTube or other site it works fine, but sometimes when I pause/rewind the video plays with no sound and anything new I try to play also doesn't have sound and I get a myriad of other computer issues as well. When I open up the processes in Task Manager I see the sound driver hogging up all my resources and spiking a 3 GHz E8400 processor non-stop at %100. The only immediate fix is to end the process and sometimes I still need to reboot. Now while I am an IT guy I am not entireley up to speed on AV stuff, but hear that synch between sound and video is an issue with motherboards that have HDMI. Whether it is a common issue due to the nature of the technology or not it is not something I feel like customers should have to deal with from a product that has been out for 2 years. Ultimately I removed the IDT sound driver and the sound still works great (I use the regular audio jacks anyway) and I have no more issues, however I am not really comfortable running my computer without all drivers.Minor issues include that the I/O plate is cheap and plain, with no color coding for the ports. This is not a big issue except that I have bought less expensive boards that do have color coding, and this is the only computer in my house with that is visible at 360 degrees and it is somewhat of an eyesore. Now they did supply 2 stickers, one to place inside the computer that details the mobo and another to place next to the I/O plate, but to me this is not something to expect from such a large corporation. To make it worse, the supplied stickers weren't correct so if someone were to rely on these stickers to plug something in there could be some damage. I also found the SATA ports location a little difficult to deal with once put in a microATX case.If I could do it over again I would buy a different board, possibly an ASUS or MSI or even another Intel, but not this model. Also, if this board is so modern with no legacy device support, where is the support for the newest SATA and USB standards? This board is leaving the past but not embracing the future. While at about $100 this is still a budget board, I would rather spend an extra $50 and get something better and more user friendly.

I would have to agree with the other reviews regarding the audio issues, and the latency totally working my processor. The board works pretty decent for all of my computing other than dedicated home theater use. I am still trying to be able to switch my audio output between the SPDIF and analog, with no luck yet.Based on the fact of a home theater PC, avoid this board. It's sole purpose is to provide glitch free home theater experience, not to hang up your processor, and glitch out your audio.I am back on the HTPC MOBO market if anyone has recommendations.

I bought this MB in Spring 2010, assuming that it would be stable, and work great. Up front I knew that you would not be able to over clock the processor, or that it wouldn't take legacy devices (PS2 mouse, keyboard, etc.), At time of release, this board's biggest problems were with the chipset, which is just too limited, and unstable and limited drivers.I'd consider myself a seasoned PC builder having put together from scratch over a dozen machines. Normally, I buy the latest MBs and stay one tier from the cutting edge RAM. This time I choose to build an HTPC around 4GB of DDR2 800 RAM that I had. This choice and building an HTPC required a Micro-AT or smaller form factor. This Intel was a good MB choice for my application, not to mention that I got a great deal on a new E8500 Core2Duo.However, even though it has been stable without any noticeable quirks, which I have encountered on several new MBs, I'm not satisfied. I realize now that its chipset limitations, see AnandTech's website, are too much, along with Intel's decision not to add the basic hooks necessary to make it more usable. My desire would be to have had some limited over clock, and under clocking to save power. Further, the lack of decent fan control is not acceptable in any MB. My eyes have been open to the other side of PCs- the dull edge versus the cutting...

I bought this motherboard, a Pentium E6500 processor, 4GB of Corsair DDR2 800Mhz memory and a Lite-On Blu-Ray drive with the intention of saving some bucks and using the built sound and video for a Windows 7 HTPC. Once I had all the current drivers loaded, it worked as advertised: DVDs and Blu-ray disks played back without a hitch; DTS and Dolby Digital content went out over the HDMI 1.3 connection with no problems, and the built-in graphics were adequate for standard computing tasks. And that's the problem with this motherboard: it's integrated graphics are up to the task of displaying 1080p video, but only adequate for most computer applications, and almost useless for even light gaming. In addition, the onboard sound does not support bitstreaming, which is required to support the Dolby TrueHD and DTS-MA audio tracks used on Blu-ray discs. Both of these problems were easily resolved by adding an ATI Raedon HD5570 card to my system, which increased my Windows 7 graphics score from 4.3 to 6.8 and added support for the missing audio formats. Unfortunately, it increased the cost of my "budget HTPC" build by $85 as well. With this in mind, if you're looking to build a HTPC on a budget, and can live with two less memory expansion slots, I'd recommend using the E6500 processor and the HD5570 with an Intel G41-based motherboard such as the Foxconn G41MXE or the Biostar G41M7. Either combination will save you about $50 and give you similar results to what I have, which has proven more than adequate. Invest the money you saved in a really cool HTPC case like the the Silverstone GD04, or just pocket the spare change... either way you come out ahead.

After I burned up a board with on-board nVidia graphics due to a bug in the proprietary driver, I said no more and went looking for a board that I could run purely free software on. I chose this board after reading a lot of successful reviews. On initial install of sidux running 2.6.32, everything ran smoothly. 1080p video played smooth as silk. But when I upgraded to 2.6.33, suddenly my sound stopped working. I connect via the optical TOS-Link, so the analog sound output may have still worked, but my receiver doesn't have 5.1 analog inputs, so it didn't really matter. The TOS-Link didn't work, so I had no sound. I downgraded to 2.6.32 and pinned the kernel so it wouldn't get upgraded anymore and haven't had any problems since. Everything else works perfectly. note: 2.6.34 is out now, but I haven't had the time to check to see if the regression's been fixed. Some may not consider it fair to down the ranking to 4 stars for a bug in the linux kernel, but I don't want people buying this board expecting full linux compatibility just because Intel drivers are f/oss, in the kernel, and usually just work.Another small note: the BIOS is really slow to boot, but given that I haven't rebooted in over 3 months, it's not a major concern for me.

I bought this to upgrade my 6-year-old PC after reading some good reviews on the integrated graphics technology the G45 offers. It seems that gamers and overclockers are not too fond of this board, but I don't really do either of those things, so it seemed like a good solution for me. This board will support Quad Core processors, but I went with a Core2Duo E8400 3.0 GHz chip. Overall, I am very pleased with the performance, however I had a very hard time getting the system up and running. I've been assembling systems for 21 years and have never had so much trouble. Had I been paying closer attention when I ordered it, I would have realized this board has NO SUPPORT FOR IDE Drives, NO SUPPORT FOR Floppy Drives and NO BUILT-IN VGA. The built-in graphics uses DVI or HDMI only. Fortunately, my monitor supported DVI, so I just had to buy the cable. There is only one PCI slot, and one PCIe slot, but if you use PCIe, the onboard graphics are disabled, so you can't have both.I thought I would use my existing optical (CD/DVD) drives, and located some SATA-to-IDE adapters online (which I had to order and wait for). There seems to be a problem using CDs booted on optical drives with SATA-IDE adapters to format the new SATA HDD I bought for this system, as I could never make the drive bootable and Windows install would typically fail in the middle. After buying a SATA DVD Drive and running the setup from there, everything worked fine on the first try. I would recommend this board as long as you buy all SATA Drives and forget about floppies altogether. The SATA-IDE adapters seem to work on the older HDs from my old system. I can read and write to the old IDE drives although they would not boot. I was able to copy all my data from the two old HDs to the new SATA drive and put the old ones out to pasture.Even thought I bought it over a month ago, I've only been using it about 10 days, so it's hard to gauge reliability at this point. The benchmark tests are pretty impressive for the completed system and Intel has all drivers and documentation readily available on their website. It seems to run cool, too. I'm only using the stock Intel CPU fan that came with the chip and the fan built in the the Power Supply, although there are hookups for two more internal fans, they don't seem to be necessary. temperature seems to be stable. As usual, Amazon shipped the board fast and well-packed. It was brand new and factory-sealed.To sum up, the board has all the new features, but none of the old so it's probably best to plan on a total system rebuild with this one.

This is a pretty good motherboard that is fairly priced and great for Windows Vista and 7. Don't bother if you want to run Windows XP; this is a legacy-free motherboard that's meant to finally rid world of 20-year-old standards like PS/2, Parallel and Serial ports, and has all sorts of on-board devices that XP and other old operating systems simply won't recognize. It's so hardcore that the install *fails*. This is for your own good. It's also a really reliable board and I have had no problems with it. However, it *is* incredibly sensitive to sunspots and cosmic radiation. I've had problems with random areas of my RAM being corrupted by messages from the future civilization telling me of the eventual destruction of the planet in the year 2180. My friends tell me that it's a dirty trick, and that my libgcc++ was hacked by chinese hackers, thus the malloc() function is simply barfing out random messages. It's all lies though, this motherboard is too awesome to be tricked by techniques of mortal hackers. No, this is most definitely the work of undead daemons that have traversed the endless seas of time and space to tell me sweet, pleasant memories, of your immortal mother, the eternal meta-immortal mate and close Grand Vizier of Its Holiness the FSM.

This is an excellent mobo for building a modern system. The quick reference is clear, though it might not be adequate for a total novice. When I first bought it in early 2009, the built-in audio did not work with Ubuntu. However, the 9.10 release fixed that problem and now the audio is flawless along with everything else. I'm using the optical port which just works. You will need a USB mouse, USB keyboard, and SATA or USB drives. No PS/2, no IDE. Old PCI is still supported but only one card.

I've been building computers since NT4, and I'm amazed how technology has come, so far. I'm specifically impressed with the Intel DG45ID MOBO. Built specifically for Media Center use. This MOBO works really well with my Vista x64 Ultimate. I watch Blu-ray, HD DVD's, and online movies. I set this up with a quad core processor, 8GB RAM (Corsair), on an Antec case. The built-in HDMI (video card) passes audio and video. I've tested other MOBO (not an Intel), & their built-in HDMI (video card), does not pass audio. This video card can only achieve 1080p, at 60hz. So if you have a 120 Hz TV, it will bump down to 60 Hz.Good luck with watching Netflix movie, using this video card. There's some DRM, management rights issue. There are no legacy peripherals/hookups on this MOBO; all SATA, USB, Firewire connections. I don't know how the integrated RAID controller performs, since I'm currently not using it. The only suggestion is to have integrated wifi included on this board. I'll purchase this MOBO again, if someone wants me to build them a Media Center.*** April 2009 Update ***I purchased and hooked-up the Sony STRDG820 Receiver. The Sony works really well with my HTPC. I'm still using the integrated HDMI in the MOBO.Last week I updated the BIOS. I found out that I'm way behind and I could not update using Express BIOS update. I had to update using Recovery or Iflash. I don't have a USB floppy, so I updated using my USB stick. The app that I used is the HP USB Disk Storage. You can download that app for free. You should be able to create a DOS startup disk, with the downloaded BIOS, .BIO extension file from Intel.BTW: I'm using the Corsair XMS2 PC2-6400 800 MHz 240-PIN DDR2 Dual-Channel Memory Kit - TWIN2X4096-6400C5. I have 8GB RAM, and BIOS setup for auto; my current memory speed is 800MHz.Also, I'm not experiencing that weird DRM Netflix issue anymore.

The motherboard is exactly what it claims to be. I only have one complaint and that is the HDMI output does not work with all applications. After reading up on this it seems to be a copyright issue which has not been resolved.I use a DVI to HDMI adapter on the DVI output of the motherboard, this solved my problems. I use a HDMI cable to my Telvision and all applications work fine. Since I use a Home Theater Sourround Sound the audion I loose to the telvision is not a problem. I would reccomend this board to anyone who wants to build a good Home Theater PC.

A decent board for the price, though be aware it has no parallel port so all your hardware is going to have to have SATA data connections. It does provide power with both Molex and SATA connectors though. It provides a minumum amount of documentation, and if your lucky the labels on your case will match the labels on the motherboard. If your not lucky (like me) you close your eyes, plug it in, and hope it doesn't blow up (It didn't). It runs hot (if you live in the desert), and I will have to find a better cooling system next summer

I've built three PC's with this board, and had to replace all of them, due to repeated hangs in Windows Explorer (XP SP3) - replaced memory, HD's, power supply, SATA cables; tried IDE, AHCI and RAID disk modes; updated BIOS and drivers, reinstalled Windows several times, all to no avail. I can only conclude that there is a design flaw somewhere, and therefore it's back to the DP and DQ35 series for me (those never gave me any trouble...).

I use this board for an HTPC setup, and as such the HDMI port was a must. I run this system through an Onkyo HDMI 1.3 receiver, and find it syncs well and provides multi-channel audio with easy. Upgraded drivers (vs. what was included) help the stability. There is little legacy with this board, but I don't need that. This one does all that I need at a reasonable price.
