This SSD replaced a 5400RPM HDD from an 8 year old laptop. The result is night and day. I went from a ~2min startup time via Windows 10 to a 12 second boot up time. My laptop is like new again, where I actually don't dread turning it on anymore, and feels spiffy.
For the price versus the PNY CS900 from Best Buy, this SSD has the same internals and is cheaper. Backed by the 5 year warranty, which I hope I won't have to use, is a nice reassurance.
Overall speeds I hit where 540 Mb/s read and 480 Mb/s which is great for the price I paid. 4/5 recommend buy.

After finishing building my new rig I got this SSD for my older one to turn it into an entertainment unit, well after I got a new GPU and install the old one on this rig I got into installing win 10 from the original USB stick, well it did all the tricks, install steam, chrome, etc. So I had to go to work out of town for 4 months, came back and boot this sucker up, and boom the SSD was dead!!!! I've never had an SSD fail, don't bother buying this piece of rubbish...

I waited a little while to review this product. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because the data receptacle broke off the first one I got. Could have been a fluke. Hyundai Tech points you to where you can get free cloning software that worked well, both times. Both disks were recognized right off the bat and data transfer was very quick, even though I think my old drive was failing. After cloning the first drive I went to unplug it so I could position it properly and the plugin part just came out with the plug. They sent a replacement very quickly and I've had no problems with the new one. I've installed several SSD's in the past year and have been buying different brands just to see how they work.
This was going in a PC that I use to stream to my big screen TV, so It didn't need to be large. The reason I wanted to point out the speed of this unit is because I've read that smaller drives (this is only 120 GB) are slower than larger ones. Not the case here. A couple of my other higher end larger drives are not showing the speed this one is. I can turn on my PC, walk 4 feet and turn on the TV and the logon screen is already up. Incredible. Now, only time will tell if it will last, but for what I paid, and the fact that nothing is really stored on this unit, it's almost disposable at this point.

I have an HP desktop with a Core i3 and Windows 10. Performance was so slow I wanted to bash it with a sledgehammer. After 2 years of frustration I decided to replace the original HDD with an SSD. I cloned the original drive to the Hyundai using AOMEI Backupper free version software and the difference is absolutely stunning. Boot up time went from 3 minutes to less than 30 seconds and programs like Photoshop start up in just a few seconds instead of minutes. Smartest purchase I've made in a very long time. And no more worries about hard drive failure.

I purchased this SSD roughly 6 months ago and I’m glad I did! This thing was an upgrade from my previous Kingston SSD, surprisingly. The testing speeds were just as fast, but the durability of this Hyundai SSD is better.

I've purchased a few of these drives, some are primary boot drives in laptops and some are secondary storage drives. The price is very competitive and they've been reliable for over a year now. Speeds are good at 500/400mbs, SATA III/6gps. For the storage drives I run high end PC games (DOOM, etc.) and Virtual Machines (VMWare/Virtual Box) and they perform fine. Made in Taiwan and seem as good as any other mid-range SSD drive, don't think you could go wrong with them.

This is a very basic SSD with no DRAM buffer. Purchased to speedup an older computer. Easy to clone using one of the free backup programs. It does its job in noticeably speeding up my older dual-core computer. Note that this SSD is packaged in a notebook form factor, but certainly can be used in a desktop. And it is so light and small that you really don't need to use a mounting adapter. Just tape or zip tie it inside the case.

I bought this SSD to replace a spinning drive in an old laptop from ~2011. HUGE improvement. Boot time is great now and apps launch much faster. This laptop is likely close to the end of its life, but this SSD is a totally worthwhile upgrade for $20. I use this laptop exclusively for 3D printing. It is basically an appliance to me. If I was getting a SSD for one of my main computers, I would definitely spend more.
This drive is great for what it is. Very happy with it for my use case.

I ordered two of these hard drives. One works as expected. The other has an issue. Every laptop in which I install the second hard drive has issues. I've tried the drive in three different laptops. Each one has an issue, either performance or laptop freezing. Note that each of these laptops runs just fine with the first hard drive. Since it is past the return period I appear to be stuck with a bad hard drive. I would not order again. I would look to another brand.

I picked this Hyundai hard-drive over a number of other choices because it A: inexpensive and B: has a good warranty. It was used to replace the old SATA III drive a spare laptop we gave our neighbor. It was a great way to breathe life into some old hardware. I cloned the old drive and just slapped this in. Booted up and things simply worked. I never bothered benchmarking; I figure if there's a problem, my neighbor will reach out to me.

We put this in son's computer to replace the old 240GB ssd that was almost full. We cloned the old one using Clonezilla software and had no issue booting from the new one. This 480GB ssd works the way it should and we are happy with it. Speed is as good as any other name brand ssds, and it comes with good warranty. So far, it's been working great and it is great value compare to some expensive ones. (bought this during the Lightning Deals)

Good product, good price, no issues so far. Does what it should. Unfortunately I don't have benchmark #'s like others, so even though i haven't had any issues yet, there is always a chance that the speeds may not be great. That being said, i really won't notice a speed problem since any SSD will always be better than a spinning HD. As far as reliability goes...i haven't had an issue yet with it.

The drive will randomly disconnect itself from the PC, requiring a reboot to work again. This happens during any drive activity or file transfer. It is practically unusable.
I have contacted Hyundai on their technology site with a support ticket, but never got a response.
I assume it is a firmware issue, but there are no driver or firmware updates available online, and there is very little information available on their site.
You may get lucky and receive a working one, but I advise looking elsewhere for a decent SSD.

As the headline suggests, I bought this SSD to replace an aging HDD in a family member's 2011 MacBook Pro. The difference is quite astonishing- no more spinning beachballs, the boot time has been reduced to about 7 seconds, and the whole machine feels much snappier. Such a surprise that someone could get a good SSD at this price from a reliable manufacturer.

I purchased this SSD to upgrade my current 128GB Samsung SSD as I wanted more storage space. I was extremely surprised that a “Hyundai” SSD was faster than my previous Samsung SSD.
480GB is plenty of space and my system boots up very quickly!!

Caveat emptor ...
I bought the 240GB model which advertised a 5 year limited warranty. Turns out that Hyundai Technology's website only gives a 1 year limited warranty. I advised 'Moe' at HT 6 days ago and got no reply. Here's the rating I promised, Moe. Be sure to tell Curly and Larry.
The SSD seems to work just ok, about as well as you'd expect at the price. Hope it outlasts the 'warranty'. Shame on Hyundai for this bait-and-switch trickeration. Good luck, y'all.

I thought this was a good hard drive. The hard drive failed on my intel i5 laptop and that laptop is not used as much as my main laptop. And the SSD became permanently read-only after 8 months. I tried recovering it with Ubuntu Linux and Windows but it still stays being read-only. I reached out to the customer support and told them that I had lots of important confidential business stuffs there and I won't be able to send my Hyundai SSD to them. They agreed and 3 months had passed and they haven't sent a replacement SSD. I wouldn't write this review if they had given a satisfying customer service. I can't wait anymore and I instead bought a Kingston SSD as a replacement.

For the price, you cannot be disappointed with these 120GB ssd sata drives.. I'm using them in boot-able workstations and they kick serious butt! As with all drives of this caliber, these make boot and shut down a tolerable waiting time.

Exactly what I needed to upgrade a number of old i3 machines to windows 10. Good price, good speed and no problems with cloning or any other glitches so far. Hyundai is a known name, so I feel confident these items will prove to be reliable. Transformed the old machines, that received extra memory as well, to fast responsive machines again. As for storage capacity, they are the size they are. For gaming I have no idea as these units will be used to upgrade machines in a school.

Purchased this to replace the old school spinning drive in my mother's laptop. I have experience with SanDisk and Samsung solid state drives and I would say that this one works just as well without doing any benchmarking to back up my claim. It just works. It's a great price. And you can tell the case itself is quality construction.
