Powerful, stylish...I love this phone
I am converting from an iPhone to this one...I was getting bored of Apple. I have really enjoyed this phone in ways but it has taken a bit of effort to get used to. The positives are huge and definitely outweigh the negatives. However, due to the annoyance of the negatives, I've deducted a star.
I am very happy with this phone. It's a nice change from an iPhone and IMO, more impressive. I recommend it for everyone aside from extremely tech impaired people.
Pros
+ Very stylish. I am split between getting a case to protect it and not getting one to show it off
+ The glass and metal back aren't prone to scratches from sliding it across flat surfaces. Also feels sturdy considering its flatness and thinness
+ The camera is awesome! Produces very clear pictures
+ Tons of customizable options
+ Love the notifications! You can customize what you'd like to be notified of and they'll all appear in a list that you access by swiping down from the top of the screen. Settings can also be accessed this way
+ 1080p screen is simply stunning
+ The speakers are very crisp for a phone, and I'm very happy that they face the front
+ The music app is wonderful and easy to use. Luckily it has a different and far more functional bar that houses tabs (genres, artists, etc) than the annoying swipe bar used in the phone app, as detailed below. Switching between Now Playing and the list of songs/genres/artists is a sinch
Cons
+ There's no button on the front of the phone to unlock it. Only power button, located on the left of the top side, will unlock the phone. It's a bit annoying for a right handed person
+ Some buttons are difficult to press accurately and I frequently miss them, even though I have small fingertips: the always-present back button on the bottom of the phone, the back button in the internet browsers, the exit/close buttons on certain apps (for instance, when I press the button to view multiple tabs open....I accurately press the close button 25% of the time)
+ Even being fairly tech-savvy, it required a good bit of research on how to customize the phone the way I like it, and still am not entirely happy with what I've got
+ A ridiculous amount of apps come standard with the phone, but they cannot be deleted. I don't use even half of them. They all go into one group labeled "Don't Use"
+ The "phone" app that you use to make calls on is really frustrating. There's a skinny bar at the top that you can swipe or touch to switch between Call History, Phone (which houses the keypad and an enormous picture with the latest call's info that you can press to dial your previous call), Favorites, Contacts, and Groups. As I'm sitting here typing, I have successfully swiped/touched to change tabs twice out of several tries
+ HTC Sync Manager couldn't be less pathetic or less helpful

The best phone you won't buy
Let's face it, HTC is in trouble. The juggernauts of the smartphone world are devouring the market share and HTC is feeling the crunch. It's a shame really, because this is the best phone HTC has produced in a decade. The HTC One is great. I've had several HTC phones over the years including some of the missteps that have kept them out of the top spot amongst Android phones. But this ONE is the best one. The casing feels elegant and sturdy. The design is simple and sleek. The sound? The sound is incredible. The quality of the front facing stereo speakers is better than most laptops. Beats Audio is put to good use here. The screen is bright and crisp and the animation transitions are smooth and snappy. The cameras are not the best in the biz, but are by NO means flawed or underwhelming, but it would be a mistake to compare it to the outstanding camera of the Galaxy S4. The camera has good clarity in low light but does not handle colors particularly well in those instances (which can be fixed afterward with an image editor.)
The home screen app, Blink Feed, is pretty cool. I wasn't sure that I would like it at first, but it has grown on me. It allows you to set up different newsfeeds and social networking "at a glance" features. The weather widget is the standard HTC AccuWeather powered app that other HTC devices utilize. It is very nice and often imitated.
Battery life is pretty good under normal use. I would prefer that phone manufacturers return to a design that would allow for easy battery replacement, but that is a minor point.
This phone is not upgradable in storage either. There is no SD slot which I would also appreciate. Still, the 32gb (~25 usable) on board is sufficient.
PROS: Beautiful design and form factor. Top notch response and screen. Best sound ever.
CONS: Camera is so-so. No removable memory or battery.
CONCLUSION: This is possibly the best HTC offering since the EVO. Well worth your consideration.

Mic stopped working after 45 days :(
Just after 45 days, mic stopped worked. The basic features of the phone are prohibited. Callers can not hear my voice. Video recording has static audio. Not sure what to do with this phone now. I am stuck for 2 years or pay premium. Love HTC phones when they work.
Amazon forwarded me to HTC customer care.
Talking to HTC customer care, will update the review after that.
Update 1:
Call with HTC customer care
Did a hard factory reset through recovery mode.
Went through self device test by dialing *#*#3424#*#* It will take you to list of self tests you can do. I did audio test and it passed OK. Then the customer care person called on my HTC One, he didn't hear a thing.
Finally he offered 3 options
1. a repair with in 10 days (no replacement phone till then and I pay shipping)
2. Send me a replacement phone with overnight shipping $29.00 and $599.00 hold on credit card. I pay shipping and HTC will remove the hold after receiving the defecting phone back
3. Send me the replacement phone at a new cost.
I choose 2nd option and waiting for email from HTC with instructions.
Will update what happened.

Very nice, fast phone with a one big issue and a few small issues
I replaced a nearly 3 year old Samsung Epic on Sprint with the HTC One on ATT and am blown away by the difference in speed. I thought losing a physical keyboard was going to be a huge drag, but the screen is big enough that my fat thumbs still find the right key.
Issues:
1. The camera which is a major selling point of the phone is sub-par in many situations, but most of all in low light settings. The outside of the image is all tinted a bright color purple. Changing the white balance and other settings doesn't help, and many people have exchanged the hardware only to find their new phone has the purple camera issue as well. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the issue in time to send it back within the 14 day window. Either way I'm considering another phone because of it.
2. I got spoiled by the flexibility of the launcher on the Epic which I converted to Cyanogenmod. The stock launcher with Sense is very nice to look at, but little things like not being able to choose whether to display the text under the icons, or choose icon size or grid size beyond a grid that just looks spaced out too far really bug me. The flexibility exists within the OS, they just chose not to let us use it?

Not for American users!
The HTC One from this seller is not meant for American users. I cannot download certain apps because of this.
But the worst thing about it is that, this phone is a refurbished phone but it does not say so in the description. The battery life of this phone was depleted before I purchased it & now it is having the SAME issue my previous HTC One has.
If anything, I was duped into buying this phone under the assumption the battery would last more than 10 months & that it would not be a refurbished phone.

Phone is fantastic
I bought this phone because it is the only High-end smartphone that has dual-sim.
The dual sim feature was very important for me to keep work and private life separated.
The package arrived very soon at my place but unfortunately I had to pay another €50 for the customs because the item is shipped from China.
The phone is already rooted but if you don't speak Chinese you still have some work to do because the Blinkfeed feature is only in Chinese.( My advice is to install apex launcher and deactivate the English services)
I have this phone now almost 1 month and I am really happy with this phone. The transport speed was amazing and the phone itself has in my opinion almost no cons. (Brilliant screen, amazing sound , very fast , good connectivity )
The only con I can think off is the lack of LTE support.
But my overall impression is fantastic about this item.

htc synch manager does not connect.
I moved from IPhone to HTC One last year. I thought IPhone could improve, but after using HTC One i felt they are way ahead of the game. Somehow everyday i try to see how can i get back to IPhone.
For starters the HTC Synch Manager does not work. You connect your HTC One to PC and it shows a message that you need to accept an agreement but there is no agreement window. You do everything possible on your pc including dissable antivirus, firewall, etc...still. So if they have not figured out such a common issue...you can only imagine the rest.

Superb phone -- Chose it over the M8
My spouse and I both chose this phone to replace our older phones -- Samsung Galaxy S3 and S2, respectively. Those were fine phones, but the HTC One is on a different plane entirely. The screen is noticeably more responsive and easier to read in every light condition, and the picture quality of the camera is head and shoulders better, particularly in regard to the S3. Most importantly, the GPS is more accurate and the cell radio is better, so the phone just functions better overall.
The fit and finish of this phone is outstanding and makes it a pleasure to use. It feels substantial due to the glass front and aluminium back and is a nice weight whether in the hand or pocket. The edges have enough dimension to make the phone feel secure in use, and the on/off and volume controls are better placed than the Samsungs' in regard to accidental adjustments. The screen also seems to pick up smears less and wipes clean easily.
With the recent introduction of the M8 at the time we were purchasing, we checked out both phones side by side before making the decision of which to buy. We ended up opting for the M7; the bigger dimensions and heavier weight of the M8 are a disadvantage that the slightly larger screen size and faster speed do not outweigh.

This phone was too old
This review isn't going to be very useful in 2021, but whenever I bought this phone, it was old, and that was years ago. I think I bought it in 2016, and it couldn't run advanced apps because they weren't compatible with this phone. I'd suggest buying something made more recent.

Loving my M7!
Having previously owning a HTC phone I wanted to see what was available when my contract expired. Looking at Amazon's selection I came across the HTC 1 M7 at a great price of a penny! After reading various reviews from people who had purchased the M7 and CNET comments it was a no-brainer! The features on this phone are great, it has enough room (32GB) to store a host of apps, pics & music. It uploads pages quickly and I can surf the net on it with ease. It takes really good pics, is slim and lightweight. My only criticism which applies to most smartphones, is keeping the battery charged. I find it necessary to recharge during the course of the day, depending on usage. All in all I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone who doesn't want to follow the iPhone or Galaxy crowd but is looking for a phone that pleases and meets your mobile needs.

Great phone
HTC hit the nail on the head with this one. I like all the HTC one has to offer but I do find myself missing my iPhone. It's kind of funny but I went with this HTC one because it has a larger screen than my iPhone but at time I miss the size of the iPhone. It just felt right in my hand. I have large hands and still find it difficult to operate the buttons one handed on the HTC one. Its true what everyone is saying though about how beautiful the screen is and how awesome the sound is.

Excellent smartphone
I have had it for a month now, coming from a iPhone 4S (which was very good, by the way). I chose the M7 over the recent M8 because it is smaller, and also the screen looks even better to my eye (same resolution on a smaller screen, and greater luminosity). The HTC One M7 is a great smartphone, very smooth in normal operation, with good battery life. The camera is not great, especially in low light conditions, when it has strange hues in the background, a problem that is known and does not appear to have been fixed by recent software upgrades (I have the most recent KitKat 4.4.2 with Sense 6.0). Other than that (the camera is not bad in good lightning conditions, though), this is an excellent performer. Highly recommended

Love this phone
Love this phone! The only frustration I had was very small, I dislike that when you type a colan and a close parenthesis it automatically costs to an emoji. So, :) and :p as well as others would be corrected to emojis. Other than this small problem, I love everything else about the phone! Great sound, good memory, works well!

Worthless
This phone worked great for about two weeks then Saturday morning it lost signal has not worked since. I have done everything that I could find on the internet to try and get the phone working again to include buying a new sim card and nothing has worked. I had to go to the At&t store to buy a new phone.

Don't buy it. Flawed technology.
I had high expectations for this phone based on the advertising. It did not measure up and one day burned up on me, actually started smoking and made it impossible for me to recover videos and photographs locked in memory. It's unconscionable that they would not have a system for recovering my media. Precious Moments lost forever.

Best phone yet
I bought one right after they came out and just got my daughter one for Christmas. We both were iPhone fanatics for the last 4 years. Simply the best phone I've ever owned. My daughter has only had her's since Christmas day and she already is hooked.
The screen size and resolution is awesome and the flexibility of the android operation system is very flexible. I've found android versions of every app I had on the iPhone and I'm surprised at how several are actually better apps than their apple versions.
Build quality of the phone is so MAC-like!

The seller never said in the description that anything was wrong with the phone i get the phone and it does not hold carge it dies when it is fully charged so now i have to pay out of pocket for a new battery and to have it put it so this guy gets my money and i have to repair the phone that in HIS eye is in working condition

Awesome
Compared to my 2 year old HTC phone, this one is night and day. Works great, lots of memory, and the speakers in the front makes listening to applications much better. I was able to install all my apps that were on my old phone and much more. Now the biggest surprise has been the battery life. My old phone would be out of juice with any intensive app use or by the end of the day if I was lucky. I actually went two days without charging and it still had battery charge. Very happy and highly recommend.

Best phone out there!
Having owned the HTC DNA and that is an awesome phone, the One is just a better quality phone. I can't wait to see the next one. People miss out on a great phone because they get brainwashed by commercials and not thinking and researching things for themselves. I know this company is in some financial trouble but hopefully the introduction of this new phone will get them back on the right track. I am looking at purchasing the latest One towards the end of this year or about this time next year.

Absolutely not. He said in Very Good condition, i beg to differ. I can feel the scatches on the screen theres multiple areas where the pain has wore thin and i only see gray patches. Deserves 0 out of 5. DO NOT BUY. Go spend your money elsewhere. Doesnt even come with the items to take care of the sim card and what not. Like i said. 0.
