Bottom of the line HP printers don't usually come with the USB cord to the computer, and they usually guzzle ink. You don't pay much for the printer so you pay through the nose for ink. Having known these drawbacks before I bought it, I love it. I especially like the self-aligning feature. It prints an alignment sheet, you scan it, and it fixes itself.

I bought this printer Primarily to print shipping labels for my online business. IT DOES NOT PRINT ON THE LAST HALF INCH OF THE PAPER, therefore it doesn't print anything past and including the signature section on the bottom of international custom forms. Totally worthless to me. Took it back, spent $20.00 more and got an HP 4500, works fine. A LOT MORE PRINTER FOR A LITTLE BIT MORE MONEY. If HP makes junk like the 2050 I can understand why they're laying off 23,000 people. HP - STOP MAKING LOW END GARBAGE!

I purchased this printer about a month ago and have been very pleased with the performance and quality of the printed output. I run Linux Mint 10 (yes, the printer does run under Linux). I only needed to load hplip and xsane from the Synaptic Package Manager after which the printer and scanner worked perfectly! It does use more ink then I expected but the cartridges are relatively cheap - at least for now. I heartily recommend this printer to anyone who wants a quality printer and scanner for home use. Linux users, take note - it works great!The only warning I would give is not to buy a used one - I have heard a lot of negative reports about them. But then, I wouldn't buy a used printer anyway.

Bought this (at Wal-Mart) as a make do until I could replace my high quality printer. I wasn't expecting anything great and knew I would be replacing this within the next few month but while I wasn't expecting much I wasn't expecting it to be quite as bad as it was. When I got it going and printed the test page I thought it was going to explode, the squealing noises coming from it were that loud and the banging from the print head moving shook the whole unit. The test page that printed out was faded and the colors were off. I uninstalled it and boxed it back up and returned it back to the store within just a couple of hours after purchasing it.

I feel cheated. You have to buy Ink each week. The worst purchase I've made in a long time. HP wasn't a careful firm, it treats its customer as a dairy cow

My office replaced my worn out 7 year old printer with this one.What a piece of crap! Installed drivers three times, yet fonts fall out faster than water through cheesecloth.Runs through ink cartridges weekly, about half as often as my entry level Dell printer that I have at home for personal use.And get this - every time you have to replace your ink, you print out an alignment page, and then have to scan it....hello and welcome back to 1995 technology.Its slow, noisy and flimsy -

This may be the worst printer I've ever owned in my lifetime. My husband and I struggle just to turn it on. Sometimes we press the Power button multiple times and even try unplugging it. Eventually we found that you sometimes have to turn the PC AND Printer off, let it sit, and then restart everything. Piece of garbage. Also the ink cartridges do not last long in comparison to other printers. I'm ditching this thing first chance I get. In this case, I got exactly what I paid for. Save yourself the headache and spend a couple more $s on a quality printer.

I purchased this printer last summer as a portable solution. The price was right on the printer, but I should have immediately been suspicious. The software options do not allow me to select Draft quality (it's grayed out no matter what I do). This printer goes through VERY EXPENSIVE ink like water. I'm replacing the cartridges every 20-30 printed pages to the tune of $30 to replace both cartridges. I tried the XL version of the cartidges, which are supposed to last 3 times longer ($55 for both) and it went through the ink even faster!!! I think I printed 5 pages in color at the lowest quality the software would allow before the light came on again. The scan and copy functions work great, print quality is good, but the ink price is a show-stopper. As soon as I'm done with the current ink I have in reserve, I'm getting rid of the printer.

I bought it about a week ago at walmart for $49.99. I was planning on purchasing a more expensive one, but because I needed to save money I got this one. I figures that it was going to be downhill because I was accused of stealing it when the alarm went off when I was leaving. It actually worked UNBELIEVABLY well when I made the first few copies and prints. It hardly detects there is ink in the machine and paper in the feeder. I think I will try to return it.

Bought it on the cheap from walmart $39, seemed like a steal, but I was the one that got stolen from. It printed 4 pages very decent quality the day that I bought it, and seemed to do adequate scans and copies. However, about 3 weeks later when I tried to print a document the printer refused to sense that there was paper in the printer feed. I wasted 10 minutes trying to get it to accept the same paper that had been sitting in the tray when it had printed before, but no luck , just a flashing out of paper light. Then a few minutes later when I pressed the copy button it started flashing that it was out of ink, but the cartridges had only printed 4 pages. I got so mad with this flimsy plasticky cheaply made printer that I just tossed it in the trash, rather than go thru the hassle of returning it. My moms HP printer which had worked fairly reliably for 2 years of moderate home use, has also suddenly developed a problem with accepting paper. I think I have had enough of HP products for a while.

I thought it was really lame that it didn't come with a usb cord. I bought this as a gift for someone for Christmas and now I have to go back to the store to buy the usb cable. It should have come with it , or I would have gotten another model. This is why the price was less because it didn't have everything you need in the box when hooking it up. Directions say " You may need to purchase a usb cable" I may need to???? do I or don't i?

I bought my first 2050 at Walmart when I went there to get an ink cartridge for my other printer. The new printer cost less than the ink cartridge for my old printer so I bought it. It lasted a while and then died after I dropped a pencil in the paper fill area - my fault. So, I bought another one at Walmart. This one lasted a few months and then tonight it decided it was going to be out of paper no matter how much paper was in the fill tray. I will try something else.

Bought it cheap at Walmart and just now realize why its so cheap. I scan and save a lot of my personal documents to .pdf: This printer does scan to pdf but ONLY ONE PAGE documents. The idiotic scan utility has no provision to scan multiple pages and create a single pdf file out of it.

I needed a low cost all in 1 printer. I was skeptical of this model at first until i tried it for myself. I have to say that features for the price are good. The print quality is great, and it plain just works. I have always liked HP products though so i was willing to give them a chance even though the reviews were mixed.

Pros:-It only requires TWO ink cartridges, unlike many other brandswhich require you to buy 5 ink cartridges (e.g. Canon)-It has NO papers jams at all since I bought it.-Works perfectly fine.-Costed me 112 Singapore Dollars (inclusive of 1 set of ink cartridges)-Prints fast-Lightweight-Easy to set up ( I did it myself!)Cons:-cannot print on consecutive sides of paper(At least so far, I have not been able to figure out how to do it if possible)

Got it from Walmart.Hate it. I have to buy ink every two weeks and I haven't even gotten through a pack of paper yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is there a way for me to use up all the dang color ink before having to go purchase another cartridge of black ink??

It's faster than my Kodak, the price was $39 at Wallymart, came w/ two inks. I didn't need a USB cable because I already had one from the Kodak. The ink costs more than Kodak, and the HP ink carts are TINY! And no, the power cord is NOT 10" long. Had it running in one minute. It's...okay. If I get 3900 copies, I'll be happy.

Bought this at Walmart. Sucked me in a low price. First mistake. It was an HP. Second.The quality was horrible. Cheap, flimsy, very poor quality.The ink ran out after less than 20 printed text pages; not photos, or graphic intensive, text pages.Absolute trash.Next time I will buy a decent printer from Amazon.Lesson learned.

I purchased this printer from thesource in Canada for ($20, yeah i know it's crazy but I guess it was my luck)and i absolutely love it. I first purchased Canon Mp280 which I returned since it stopped working after two days and I didn't like the print quality, so I purchased this printer which was on sale, I know canon makes good quality printers but I have to say HP is right up there with them. The print quality is excellent as well as the scan quality, just perfect.

I bought this printer at Wal-Mart for $49.00. I went home expecting to use it right away but it didnt come with a USB cable. And the plug cable was litterally 10 inches long! I didnt understand how I was supposed to plug in the printer and keep it on a desk if it was that short. So I didnt even get a chance to actually use it because I was frustrated with the fact that it was stupid LOL.
