So if it's the seventh Hikvision camera I've purchased you know I'm a satisfied customer. They stay adjusted, stay clean and just work without any babysitting. I'm able to mount mine under eaves outdoors so I'm sure that helps but the two that are mounted halfway down a two story wall are just as bulletproof. Summer or winter, blazing sunshine or dark of night, they just soldier on. Set up takes a bit of learning and I'm using mine with Blue Iris, not the Hikvision supplied software

gray market item
this is a wonderful camera, but turns out to be a gray market item. this means that hikvision USA will not talk to you to give any support. the camera requires you to enter a complex high security password and protocol in order to enable the camera and that causes problems with some security systems software. The vendor Vigalent Depot helped and got the camera reconfigured to simplify the login, then it was just a pain to download a new device driver database. in the end the new username the vendor had me put into the camera with the simplified onvif protocol didn't work and i had to use the original one.

Solid US Model Camera
Got two of these to monitor/record the activities outside of my house. Both are US models, not the Chinese knock-offs with hacked English firmware.
Installation:
This was probably the hardest part, but that's mostly due to where I chose to mount. As getting the ethernet cable to the cameras location turned out to be harder than anticipated. The cameras both came with a real-size sticker showing where to drill the holes. Though I just taped them to the surface, as I don't like using stickers (afraid they'll never come off).
Configuration:
I used Hikvision's SADPTool to set them up on my IP scheme, which was very easy to use. Was also very easy to add these to my Blue Iris software, which I have running on a dedicated Windows server. Overall, took under 10 minutes. I've setup many cameras in the past, so others may find this process a bit more difficult.
One thing to note, if you're using the Blue Iris software, you cannot take advantage of the H.264+ encoding. If you enable it, none of the saved videos will play back (my understanding is because your basically double-encoding the video).
Picture Quality:
The daytime picture/video is wonderful. The night time picture/video is significantly better than the cheap cameras I've had before. It illuminates all the way to the end of my driveway! Though it does tend to over saturate objects the closer they are to the camera. But perhaps more tweaking in the cameras settings will help this. I haven't really deviated from much from the default settings.
Build Quality:
These feel and look great. Solid metal design (even the mounting ring), unlike the cheap plastic ones I've had in the past. It does generate a small amount of heat after it's been on for a day or so. But I think this is a plus, especially in the winter time when it can get well below zero in my area. I feel confident it'll survive.
Other Thoughts:
The IR doesn't attract bugs like bullet and dome cameras do. Well, maybe it does, but since the IR is off to the side of the lens (not around the lens like the other styles), they must go over there and not over the lens.
To this point, I'm more than satisfied them. Even my wife (who's not a techy like me) thinks these were worth the extra money, over the budget cameras we've had in the past.

Great night vision. A bit bulky
I love this camera. I use it for the front door. Set up with a Synology system was a breeze. The built in UI is clear and easier to use. There are several detections methods (zone, crossing an imaginary line, etc.) that help reduce the number of false positives (moving leaves, shadows, etc.)
The key asset of this camera in my opinion is the quality of the night vision. Much better that other IP POE cameras I have been using.
My only regret is that camera is relatively big, not large, but bigger that you might want to see hanging around your entrance.

A Happy Customer Buying Number Seven
This is the seventh Hikvision camera in our home setup. The other six have been up for a year and and I have nothing but good things to say about them (presuming the Chinese are not monitoring our every move ;-0) Setup is simple enough if the instructions are followed and there are plenty of useful options. This appears to be a good English version although I've never felt a burning need for a firmware update. One of the many things that amaze me about these units is how maintenance free they are. The lenses never seem to need cleaning and they handle all lighting conditions very well.

So far so good...
Camera is working great. Have several brands of cameras (Wansview, Foscam, Hikvision). and this camera is the easy winner. Love having a shutter speed setting as it really increases the night vision capabilities of the camera. Having the option of being able to disable the internal ir led's is an absolute must have for me and this camera/software has that ability. The software (both the pc app and the browser app) is better than Wansview, but inferior to Foscam. The pc app is clunky and some features don't work for me. The browser app doesn't work with Edge or Chrome. It will work with Chrome with the IE extension add on. The does work with I.E. - it works great once you get it to work.

Great picture night and day
Only problems I've had with Hikvision cameras is on occasion the cameras forget their passwords so always setup the security questions. I made the mistake of not doing so on a few. I ended up replacing them due to lack of support after the warranty was over.

Low quality
Very slow response time - Hikvision is quality stuff. Maybe this particular unit was defective. Image would flicker horribly on the screen upon it seeing motion. Footage was not usable.

Hikvision ONVIF port
I won't be buying anymore HikVision cameras.
1. I cannot Manual Focus the lens.
2. It Uses the HTTP port as the ONVIF port too with no way to separate them.
Same your and but a cheaper camera, My other camera are Dericam, Foscam, Mircrosevem and IPCam.
I am still waiting for a good Cheap 4K POE camera.

Very easy to setup and adjust using the app on my ...
Been using this exact camera for almost 2 years now, and it continues to work without a flaw. Everyone that comes over to my house is impressed by it. I have 8 of these camera setup outside my house and they have proven to be very reliable. They are exposed to the elements (rain, sun, snow, hot temp, cold temp, etc...) and simply have been hassle free. Very easy to setup and adjust using the app on my phone.

The camera is hard to beat for the value.
This camera is made well, and has great video both in daylight and low light. The night vision has a great distance and these have held up well in inclement weather too. We use it with Blue Iris and there were no issues setting the camera up. The camera is hard to beat for the value.

Better than the bullet Hikvision camera i was using.
Using this camera with Blue Iris. Image is sharp, and the 2.8mm lens is much better for me than the 4mm lens I was previously using with the Hikvision bullet cam. the IR seems to work great and it doesn't attract as much bugs at night time.

Great camera. Not all ONVIF equipment plays well together
We use these cameras for commercial security so I thought I would try using with my ONVIF compliant NVR. Could not get it to connect and after about an hour gave up. The cameras are good and have a great picture, but do not play well when mixing and matching vendor equipment. Recommend using cameras and NVR from same manufacturer and things will go much smoother.

Great quality in all light conditions
Excellent image quality, far superior at night compared to the dome cameras from Hikvision. With the dome models I've experienced excellent quality until nighttime when IR bounce back has made the image unusable. Not an issue with this model. Just great image in all conditions.

Keep your home secure
I bought several of these for my home surveillance system. The quality of the image is phenomenal and the nightvision is crisp and clear. My DVR unit allows POE (Power Over Ethernet) so I only needed to run ethernet wiring for these cameras. Just make sure when you mount it that the IR is not pointed at the wall as it will wreck your ability to view video at night.

Quality product & easy to install
I was skeptical at first, but when I received this camera I installed it and plugged it into my DVR. That's it. These are plug and play as advertised and my DVR did all the configuration and calibration changes to my Security Camera system. The camera resolution quality really surprised me, but that's what they advertised. It's time to order more cameras and secure more of my property.

Incredible night vision - no issues whatsoever
Love this camera. I went back and forth on which camera to go with. Was concerned about Hikvision due to all of the noise about warranty and support. Within a few minutes I had the camera on the network and was configuring. Simple interface from my point of view. I'm using Synology Surveillance Station and there is a profile for this exact camera. Super high image quality and motion detection seems to be spot on. Have had this for less than a week and am ready to buy a few more!

Some dome cameras have a lot of reflection from the infrared light at night but since this unit has a light separate from the lense it works really well.

So far so good..
So far so good... this looks to be a legitimate DS-2CD2342WD-I and not a knockoff. The SADP tool picked it up as a DS-2CD2342WD-I. The login page for the camera has HIKVISION logo as oppose to the other cameras I bought from CCTVWHOLESALEOUTLET (which i returned - these were grey market cameras i got misled into, beware!). I have not tried updating firmware, but am not expecting any issues.

Great image quality
This is my 3rd HIKVISION camera, so setting it up was all but a plug and play. The image quality at day or night is top notch. Would definitely recommend this camera for any one looking to add cameras to their house or place of business.

I like it, tons of options to tune for both day/night conditions
I use it as front door camera, good camera for money but event processing is a bit buggy - a lot of false intrusion and line crossing detection even with very conservative settings.
