Major Low Frequency Issues - Bass Port Noise and Clipping
Before I begin, let me just clarify that the sound quality is great for the price. A little "Hi-Fi" sounding with some bright highs and solid mids but will translate well with most mixes.
With that being said, there is a huge negative - a turning point - that severely impacts my view of these monitors. First of all, they are advertised to have decent to great low-end for such a small form factor. However, at around 50 Hz, there is a very noticeable "high-pitched" port noise that really affects bottom-heavy mixes (typically the hip-hop genres). You simply cannot ignore the noise when a kick-drum hits or when an 808 instrument is playing. At first, I believed that my product was a defective unit. However, I did some research and found that others had the same issues. The same shriekingly annoying whining sounds when reaching around 50 Hz.
Another issue I have is that the speakers clip at such low listening volumes. I for one am not a fan of listening to music with such high levels and have always been keen on protecting my ears. However, when a song is at minute volumes and the clipping indicator goes off, then that is obviously a problem.
In a perfect scenario, if these monitors didn't have these issues, then they would absolutely be the best monitors to buy under 300 dollars (for the form factor). Hopefully IK Multimedia responds to these complaints because they are not only highlighted through my testings but other users as well. Thanks for reading.

Remarkable performance from such a small speaker
I was skeptical that a speaker this small could match a larger monitor without resorting to Bose-tier gimmicks, but man was I proven wrong. I did about 30-minutes of A/B listening with my larger JBL LSR2325 monitors (5" cones) and was truly shocked at how big the iLouds sounded. If you blindfolded me, I would guess the iLoud has a 4 or 5" cone. The only area that the JBL sounded a bit fuller was certain guitar chords, but the difference was slim.
IK was smart to put the "desk" EQ switch on the back as it did help clear up some muddiness with them on my desk with a wall very close behind. After some extra testing with the HF and LF switches, I decided to leave the HF set to +3 and LF at 0. I'm not doing any mastering so I like a little bit of brightness in my speakers. Obviously, everyone's ears are different so I encourage you to play with it and see what sounds best to you.
Honestly, I am really questioning why I wouldn't keep these and just sell the big JBLs. Getting back some desk space is a win in my book, and I really don't feel like I'm giving up anything with these iLoud micro monitors. I was fortunate enough to get these for $199 on Black Friday but they are well worth the $299 regular price, without a doubt. It would be interesting to try the room correction EQ mic some day, but for now, I'm absolutely blown away by the performance stuffed into such a small cabinet. Think you can find something that else sounds this good in a cabinet of this size? You can't.

Definitely iLoud!
I really like the form factor for these micro monitors as they fit nicely on my computer desk. These are more than loud enough for small rooms but even larger rooms may be ok too as I’ve never gone past half volume. The sound is true to the original whether that be good or bad and will allow you to dial in a sound that works for most scenarios. My only complaint would be the use of the proprietary power cables but since I don’t plan on moving these anytime soon I’m not too worried about losing them. All in all I’m very pleased as usual with my IK Multimedia purchase of the iLoud Micro Monitors as I’ve been with the other IK products I’ve purchased in the past.

Tremendous. Proof that you can't judge a book by its cover. Little Gems!
In passing, I never gave these much credo, until I lent them my ears. Then, their computer speaker looks fell by the wayside and I was mesmerized. Good things do come in small packages! This a great example of that. They sound tremendous and are perfect for any prject studio (or casual listening). I use them for my home DJ setup and have their bigger brothers, the MTMs for my production suite, although I'd be happy with these there as well. Can't recommend these highly enough. This, coming off a pair of Focal Solo6 Bes.

Speaker blew within 2 months
I had really high hopes for these speakers, and at first I was impressed with the size, quality, and punch. But for whatever reason, my left speaker is rattling something terrible and I have not used these very much at all. I've only had them for 2 months and I'm not using them daily or anything. I was conscious of my volume the entire time and never played my tracks too loud, but the speaker is done. I'm guessing I may have bought a "dud" speaker because I didn't notice many reviews where others have had the same issue. But the speaker blew out for me, and for what I spent, I'm obviously not happy about it.

Okay, so I replaced the first pair I got, as they were clearly defective. Also, the second pair, I used ferrite cores to cut as much possible interference as possible. These do not have the hiss/hum the first pair had, but they do have amplifier noise when nothing is playing. Because these are so accurate, they direct that slight hiss right into your ears if you're sitting at a desk with them. If you tilt them slightly off access, you don't hear it unless you get up close to the speaker.
Not withstanding that flaw, these are incredible speakers for their size. You have to get a pair for yourself to understand how good they sound.

Good 3" speakers for audiophiles
Many have left useful reviews already.
Here are some key things I want to add or echo with other reviewers. (I use FiiO X7 as the source. )
1. The "sweet spot" is very very small. If you put the speakers on the desk and are sitting on a chair, then you must use the speakers' own stands and turn on the desk EQ mode. You should notice a dramatic difference on sound imaging and sound quality than you do not. You must place the speakers right.
2. These speakers are reference speakers. They tend to be more analytical. This means that you can hear lots of details, and the sound is comparably dark and cold. If the recording is bad, you will find the music unbearable. You need decent recordings. Most amplifications make the sound "warmer". A cold sound signature may make pop less enjoyable, but these speakers are very good for listening to instruments.
3. -3db to low frequencies. Without turning this mode on, I find the sub-bass to be excessive, and of low quality.
At USD199, these speakers are able to produce sound quality comparable to the best headphones and earphones at this price point.

You won't believe the range on these speakers...
These speakers blew me away the moment I turned them on. The amount of bass that comes out of the little 3.5" driver is unreal. So much so, that I actually flipped the -3db bass reduction switch on the back to flatten things out a bit. The high end is smooth and present, but not as crisp as many other studio monitors, or shrill like what you might expect from tiny speakers that look like something you'd find at BestBuy. There is a +3db switch for the high end as well, but I thought it got a little too shrill for my liking so I have that flat. Highly recommend as reference monitors or just super high quality desk speakers.

Make the investment... you won't be sorry!!!
I am a trained audio engineer with many years of experience. I have extensively researched these reference monitors as well as other in its class & price range. I am 100% happy with my investment into these IK Multimedia "iLoud" Micro Monitors. The audio workstation in my apartment is a small dedicated area providing full service of production: beatmaking,recording, editing,mixing, mastering, etc. The sound quality is crisp with a "flat" response, amazing low-end & very powerful. I was shocked at how loud these monitors are at such a low volume setting! Although there are no numbers on the volume knob an estimated value of between 2-3 on my Focusrite Solo 3rd Gen. interface with the "iLoud monitors" volume set at halfway the low-end rumble was heard & felt through the walls in my bedroom. Taking neighbors into consideration I use my monitors sparingly to reference mixes created using my headphones. I highly recommend these monitors for those who need to conserve space as well as money,need quality, loudness & portability.

Very good monitors for the money
These are good monitors for listening to music, they are loud and full sounding. I've heard of people using these in studios for mixing, and I would not recommend them for that use. They are a little bit overhyped at the low end, and even with the low attenuation switch engaged (some sort of high pass filter) the lows are too much. That said when I crank up my 80s metal they drown out my squeaky treadmill when I'm working out, I'm glad I bought them.

nice size perfect sound
45-60Hz a little bit port noise but.. You will rarely experience it.
This speaker will sound perfect for most experiences.
If swelling occurs depending on your environment, use the controls on the back.
Many sounds change by changing FLAT to DESK.
If you are worried about port noise, use a sponge to block the holes below.
The problem will be solved.
You may be mistaken for many problems as above,
But not a big problem.
Usually it is easily solved through control adjustment or with a sponge.
I can think of and talk about these little problems.
This speaker is a monitoring speaker that produces very good and perfect sound.
This speaker will sound perfect for most experiences.

Solid little monitor speakers with a surprising amount of bass
I needed some monitor speakers that didn't take up too much desk space so I went with these -- and I am happy with my purchase! My favorite little feature is that there is a white button on the left speaker that indicates when the speakers are on -- and when the volume gets too loud (usually the bass) to the point where the speaker is popping, that little light turns red.

They're O K A Y
You might be pleased if this is the first time you've spent more than a couple hundred bucks on a speaker, but the sound is pretty mediocre if you primarily listen to music and come from a proper 2.0 hi-fi. The speakers sound compressed and hollow through the mids, but put out a surprising quantity of mediocre quality bass, if that's your thing. That said, they're great for watching movies on your computer.

- + Великолепные профессиональные мониторы ближнего поля.
- - По началу кажется, что густовата нижняя середина, спустя несколько дней привыкаешь, и понимаешь что именно эта особенность помогает правильно свести весь средний спектр.
Низа нет, но для этого девайса и не должно быть, при правильном расположении, поднятом над столом идеальное решение для много часовой работы, без утомления.

- - - Обязательно нужны стойки по двум причинам:
1. выронять твиттеры по ушам 2. стандартные XLR джеки упираются в стол, не позволяя нормально поставить мониторы.
- Низы. Не ожидайте многого.
Перешел с Адамов (A5X) на этих малышей в связи с недостатком места в рабочем пространстве. Ранее доводилось их слушать, поэтому знал, что брал.
Если в Адамах фишка нейтрального "ровного" звука, то в дженелеках звук ярче, более металлический, сцена глубже. Миды превалируют, высокие на месте, хай-хэты, звонкие переливы на тарелках; басы.. о них нет речи, в ближайшее время закажу их же 7" саб. Но даже без него они валят вполне себе, работать можно и без него. Потрясающе отыгрывают весь инструментал. Отслушал Pink Floyd Division Bell, немного...

- + Шикарные колонки, если:
1) Очень мало места, а нужны мониторы (чистый звук)
2) Вам важны средние и высокие и не так важны басы

- + Звучание очень понравилось: планы, хвосты реверов, детальность, панорама - все слышно.
Качество сборки на высоте: алюминиевый корпус, защитные решетки на обоих динамиках.
Есть резиновые подставки, помогающие уменьшить резонансы стола и регулирующие угол наклона колонки.
Размер и вес. Весят всего 1,5 кг каждая, их реально можно таскать в сумке или рюкзаке.
Самостоятельно переходят в спящий режим, если долго нет воспроизведения. Если не нравится, эту функцию можно отключить. - - Отсутствие ручки громкости.
Шипят довольно громко, с расстояния около метра при отсутствии воспроизведения хорошо слышно шипение и это напрягает.
Гнезда расположены так, что кабели подключаются вертикально и из-за небольшого размера монитора, если он стоит на столе, кабель заламывается. Если монитор...
