Very bad looking item, looked used, very dirty.

I had used my old Vivoactive HR for over 4 years and since last year I've been looking for an upgrade. My criteria were as follows:
- battery life at least 4 weeks
- always-on display that is clearly readable in full sun light (transflective LCD)
- great timer
- all the usual smart functions
- option to use a tone instead of vibration
- full customisation for the watchfaces
- price 400 euro top.

This watch perfectly matches my criteria and even exceeds my expectations, that's why the 5 stars. I bought it from a Finnish online retailer for €360 so that makes me even happier.

So battery life is annoying... Its long enough that you don't charge it each week (maybe once a month) but then you spend about a week looking for that proprietary charger cable. The claim to be able to run just of solar is a lie.. If its out of power it will not restart again with solar unless charged hence I'm trying to find where the charge cable has been put away to.!! Other annoyances the breadcrumb GPS is pretty useless. If using all the sensors when walking you will prob need to charge it ahead of your next day.if you don't use GPS etc it lasts ages but then automatics / battery's of old gen watches lasted years not months... Love the styling love the app. Solar is a bit of a gimmick... Hate the proprietary cable search once a month

I got fed up with having to charge my smart watches every night, plus being clumsy I bash them against nearly every door frame I walk through, so I wanted something that could handle it. I received this watch on the 2nd of August and charged it fully, it’s now the 26th and the battery is still at 42%! I have used the GPS for a few longer walks and although it did hit the battery a bit, it wasn’t bad at all. The watch has been smacked about quite a bit too, and it still looks and functions great. If you are after a watch that handles basic smart functions like notifications, reading messages, muting a call, then this is great. The pay function will hopefully improve as it currently only has a few banks support, luckily I have a Santander account. But I’m sure they will add more banks over time. Overall very happy with the watch, it did exactly what I was after.

I had a garmin vivo active until it died. This replacement is great.

This is the best smartwatch and sports companion I've ever bought. I had the fenix 5x for years I've had various gshock.. Non have made me a happy as this model... Its a no thrills light fully functional tool watch, and not excessive to my needs.. I've no regrets....also don't be put off by the dimensions this watch wears small, so I know for a fact the smaller model for my 17.5 cm wrist(if specs were what I required within the watch) would've been regrettably small for me... This watch was worth the price for me... My fenix 5x is still going strong to this day years since I bought it I've no need for it now its been moved on was excess for my needs.. This should last just the same way...

The best watch I ever had

Not had a smart watch before so I can't compare it but I looked around before I purchased this and I am absolutely made up with it. It does everything I wanted it to and so much more. I've had it a month now, figured out how to do all the things I want it to but there's still a load of functions for me to peruse through. The battery is amazing with the solar, even with multiple apps running it doesn't let you down. Very highly recommended!!!

Ich habe mich für diese Uhr entschieden, da ich mit meiner Suunto 9 Baro nicht mehr zufrieden war. Der Preis ist etwa die Hälfte zur Suunto.
Die Messwerte überzeugen auf ganzer Linie. Die Höhe stimmt bis auf wenige Meter immer überein, und das ohne kalibrieren. Das Barometer stimmt ebenfalls exakt, verglichen mit Wetterstation in der Umgebung.

Alleine hier hatte die Suunto schon deutlichere Schwächen.

Der absolute Hammer sind allerdings die Gesundheitssensoren.
Ich habe 2 Fotos angefügt, welche einmal einen Snapshot über Sauerstoffsättigung und Herzfrequenz aufzeichnen. Zeitgleich habe ich im Rettungsdienst die Daten mit einem Coreplus C3 verglichen, wovon ich auch ein Foto gemacht habe. Die Genauigkeit mit so geringfügigen Abweichungen ist der Wahnsinn. Preislich liegen C3 und die Garmin hier schlappe 14.000 Euro etwa auseinander :)

Die anfängliche verwirrende Menüführung legt sich nach einigen Benutzungen der Uhr von alleine und ist dann auch irgendwie auf einmal vollkommen verständlich aufgebaut.

Optisch gefällt mir die Uhr auch gut und sie ist top verarbeitet. Ein farbiges Display oder Touch vermisse ich hier garnicht.

Wer eine Sportuhr sucht, ist bei dieser Uhr meiner Meinung nach gut beraten.

Nachtrag:
Solarfunktion:
Die Solarfunktion ist ne nette Zusatzfunktion. Natürlich muss hier Sonnenschein sein. Und ebenso klar sollte sein, das die Uhr bzw das Ziffernblatt mit dem Solarpanel im besten Fall gen Sonne ausgerichtet werden sollte. Ist bei allen Sachen so, die Solar sind. Deswegen sind Solarpanele auf dem Dach und nicht im Keller ;)
Die Garmin hat im November an einem sonnigen Tag etwa 5% aufgeladen, während ich in der Arbeit war (LKW). Nicht immer war die Uhr in der Sonne, gelegentlich drehte ich die Uhr aber gezielt so hin mit dem Arm. Für mich volkommend ausreichend. Man muss bedenken, das im Winter die Sonne kürzer scheint und schwächer ist.

O2-Messung:
Die Sättigungsmessung zieht viel Strom. Anfangs habe ich sie nur Nachts angehabt, mittlerweile habe ich sie Aus und messe gelegentlich via Snapshot. Das reicht vollkommen. Mit der Messung über NAcht sind gut 10 Tage weniger an Akkuleistung.

Aktivitäten und Training:
Ich nutze die Uhr viel für Crossfit. Hier tracke ich mit Kraftsport und kann hinterher meine Übungen noch einstellen, sodass ich in Garmin Connect sogar die beanspruchten Muskelgruppen sehe. Leider ist von seitens Garmin keine Möglichkeit, eigene Übungen zu erstellen, sodass ich mich durch eine halbwegs unübersichtliche Liste mit komischen Namen wühlen muss, um halbwegs gleiche Übungen zu wählen. Wenn hier Garmin die Möglichkeit gewähren würde, das man seine eigenen Übungen anlegen kann, ware das volle Punktzahl.

Komoot:
Ich nutze schon lange Komoot zum erstellen von Wanderrouten. Die Suunto konnte damals nach einem Update auch die Komoot-Wegführung wiedergeben.
Die Garmin nutzt hier auch wie die Suunto eine Breadcrump-Navigation, was mich aber nicht stört. ich kann meine gespeicherten Routen auf der Uhr abrufen (Speicherplatz beachten!). Die Navigation ist auch ok. War bei der Suunto vielleicht einen kleinen ticken besser, da sie die Abbiegungen anders angezeigt hatte. Habe aber auch heute das erste Mal dieses Feature genutzt. Vielleicht wird das auch noch besser, wenn ich mich mehr damit beschäfftige.

Wetter-Anzeige:
Wow... ich bin echt beeindruckt. Vor 2 Tagen gab es hier Gewitter. Meteoblue sowie andere Wetterdienste haben keinerlei Gewitter im Forecast gemeldet. Lediglich die Garmin. Dann war ich aber mal paff, als um kurz nach 14 Uhr über Nürnberg ein Gewitter zog. Garmin hatte bereits in der Früh für 15 Uhr ein Gewitter angekündigt. Auch die anderen Prognosen wie Schneefall, Regen, Sonnenschein stimmten bis jetzt sehr gut überein. Ich dachte Garmin greift hier auf die Daten vom Handy zurück, tut dies aber nicht. Garmin hat hier einen "eigenen" Wetterdienst im Hintergrund laufen. Bin begeistert!

Stresslevel:
Die Stress-Anzeige ist ebenfalls sehr gut und präzise. Ich hatte vor kurzem eine innere Unruhe. Ich wusste nicht woher und wusste nicht wieso. Die Uhr natürlich auch nicht. Aber sie hat mir das Gefühlte exakt wiedergegeben. Selbst im Schlaf fand ich keine Erholung. Die Uhr zeigte ebenfalls dies so auf.
Nettes "Nice 2 have"!

È un prodotto molto particolare, con gli apple watch e similari in giro, a vederlo non si direbbe che costi più di 200 euro, ma per le funzioni e alcune caratteristiche specifiche che ha, probabilmente vale quasi quello che effettivamente costa (rapportato al resto degli orologi sportivi).

Avendo già avuto un garmin (ho scelto di restare nel suo ecosistema proprio per le funzionalità al 100% incluse prendendo un orologio), sapevo che l’app e la miriade di dati che si potevano avere era un paradiso per qualsiasi sportivo, non mi dilungo su questo aspetto..funziona come gli altri garmin e al polso coi suoi 40 grammi non si sente, già testato in corsa e ho potuto apprezzare che i sensori sono effettivamente migliorati (ha gli stessi identici nuovi sensori del fenix 7, migliori del fenix 6 pro), le tracce cardio sono più vicine alla realtà, meno vuoti strani o picchi strani. Sul gps ha beccato ogni lato della strada/svolta che ho percorso, iperpreciso..sono curioso di provarlo alla prima escursione infatti.
Per quanto riguarda la corsa, questa seconda versione dell’instinct ha le stesse funzioni dei forerunner, VO2 max e tempi di recupero ecc…
Un’altra cosa che mi ha colpito in positivo è la robustezza (si sente che puoi usarlo ovunque e senza troppi pensieri…) e la leggibilità dello schermo: fenomenale col sole, senza riflessi, e di sera ovviamente il led risolve.

Ho evitato inizialmente la versione solar, corro di sera o all’alba e sul modello piccolo non incide quanto sul 2 normale..(anche se stando abbastanza all’aperto si guadagnano comunque diversi giorni di autonomia e non è poco: coi fenix 7s si guadagna solo qualche ora). Garmin pay è disponibile solo su determinate banche, ad esempio la mia non era in elenco, e si trova solo sulle versioni solar..ma non escludo comunque che lo diventi o di creare un piccolo conto extra dedicato.
Portando il cellulare sempre è chiaro che l’utilità per me lascia il tempo che trova..ma se si esce solo con l’orologio (e capita a volte) il discorso cambia. Con l’offerta black friday, oltre a 150 euro di sconto, la differenza tra la non solar e la solar si è ridotta a 69 euro: preso al volo dopo averlo inizialmente restituito.
Ero molto indeciso con il fenix 7s, e al polso, dopo aver provato l’instinct 2s, il peso del fenix si sente (provato in negozio)..dato che come autonomia qui siamo praticamente al doppio (anche in versione non solar), e che il fenix l’avrei preso solo per l’estetica, ho optato per il 2s solar. Alla fine è comunque molto gradevole anche se sicuramente non convenzionale...ma non stona in situazioni più formali, è semplicemente alternativo. Il colore grafite sta bene con tutto (il colore che ho scelto, a seconda della luce, oscilla tra il grigio grafite e il nero). La versione 2s ha anche delle cornici decisamente meno grosse della 2, e il risultato è che è molto più gradevole (a differenza dello schermo e dei caratteri che diminuiscono in scala tra la 2 e la 2s, i bordi non sono in scala: nella 2s sono più sottili rapportati allo schermo.

La batteria della 2s è sicuramente uno dei punti forti, dopo 5 giorni da smartwatch (notifiche attive, ma senza vibrazione) e 3 corse (col gps attivo) è al 62%..c’è da dire anche che l’ho smanettato parecchio in fase di configurazione, quindi ha inciso anche quello..sono risultati che non si possono ottenere con altri smartwatch..ma neanche alla lontana…ma bisogna fare delle scelte per la tecnologia di cui disponiamo.

La stella in meno?
Ho scelto appositamente la versione 2S con cassa da 40 mm, per me quasi il massimo tollerabile sul mio polso…e infatti ci sta perfetta. La versione da 45 mm sarebbe stata sicuramente eccessiva, ho un polso che per intenderci misura tra 16,5 e 17 cm..quindi non proprio anoressico, ma comunque medio/piccolo: eppure il cinturino in dotazione va bene a stento, si chiude al limite…
Molto difficile fornire un cinturino large in dotazione? Perché anche prendendo altri della stessa garmin (quickfit 20 mm) non si risolve, bisogna necessariamente prendere i compatibili da 20 mm che hanno quasi tutti una lunghezza (di entrambe le parti del cinturino) superiore.
Questa purtroppo è una carenza di tutte le versioni S dei vari modelli (fenix 7s incluso), ed è assurdo che se si vuole il cinturino perfetto della garmin bisogna per forza prendere dei modelli con casse dai 45 mm in poi.

[Aggiornamento versione 2S solar]
Nulla di diverso esteticamente (a parte la scritta solar e il mini pannello integrato nel display che è difficilmente distinguibile dalla non solar), stesse considerazioni già fatte… Varia l’autonomia: dopo 6 giorni e 4 uscite (solo una di giorno col sole, le altre 3 di sera), sempre senza risparmio energetico (quindi configurazione iniziale, notifiche attive, sonno ecc), è al 64%.
La differenza non è sicuramente abissale, ma apprezzabile..soprattutto considerando che se ha preso 3 ore piene di sole in totale nei 6 giorni è tanto. È stato esposto decisamente poco…Sicuramente il discorso sarà diverso d’estate, ma avendo cura di non coprire l’orologio con le maniche quando si è all’aperto in una giornata soleggiata, si guadagna qualche giorno di autonomia in più anche d’inverno. Al momento rispetto alla versione non solar, dopo un giorno e un’attività in più (sempre corsa), c’è il 2% di carica in più.

Nach sieben Jahren Nutzung der jeweils neuesten Apple Watch, bin ich im September auf die Garmin Instinct 2 Solar umgestiegen.

Richtig gut gefällt mir das deutlich robustere Gehäuse der Garmin und das tiefer liegende Glas. Ansonsten ist die Instinct 2 sehr gut verarbeitet und auch das Armband sitzt sehr bequem.

Zu Anfang benötigt die Garmin deutlich mehr Zuwendung bei der Einrichtung als die AW. Die Einrichtung ist längst nicht so intuitiv und nicht alles lässt sich über Garmin Connect an der Uhr einstellen.
Hat man dieses Prozedere aber hinter sich gelassen, wird man sehr schnell feststellen, dass die Garmin deutlich mehr Daten liefert und aufbereitet.
Body Battery, Trainingszustand, Erholungszeit, HFV Status usw. sind Werte, die mir über die AW nicht angezeigt wurden. Auch einen integrierten Metronom bei verschiedenen Trainings habe ich zu schätzen gelernt.

Die Benachrichtigungsfunktionen reichen mir völlig aus und auch die Koppelung mit dem iPhone 14 Pro ist zuverlässig stabil.

Das beste an der Uhr ist allerdings der verbaute Akku. Ich habe alle Sensoren aktiviert und mit Schlaftracking und gelegentlicher GPS Nutzung hält der Akku dicke 5 Tage durch. Die Solar Unterstützung hat am sonnigen spanischen Strand so 5-7 % am Tag gebracht. Den Aufpreis würde ich mir künftig sparen.
Abschließend kann ich sagen, dass ich den Umstieg nicht bereut habe. Obwohl die Garmin langsamer reagiert und auch die Displays nicht vergleichbar sind, bevorzuge ich die lange Laufzeit und die gelieferte Datenmenge. Auch die Garmin App ist wirklich informativ und schön gemacht.

Wer allerdings mit seiner Watch telefonieren will oder den Status seines DHL Paketes verfolgen möchte, wird bei der Garmin nicht auf seine Kosten kommen.

Hierfür habe ich aber mein iPhone.

Die Zufriedenheit auf Dauer wird sich zeigen. Der Support von Garmin kommt allerdings lange nicht an den gewohnten Apple Service heran.
Ich hatte mich mit einer Frage zu den verbauten Federstegen der Garmin an den Support gewandt, da ich ein anderes Band mit neuen Federstegen montieren wollte.
Per Mail, wurde meine Frage überhaupt nicht beantwortet und im Chat hat man mir geraten, die vorhandenen Federstege zu verwenden ( Es passen übrigens 22mm mit einer Dicke von 2,5mm ).
Die genaue Bezeichnung der Stege konnte mir der Support nicht nennen und ich musste es selbst ausprobieren. Ich hoffe, den Support künftig nicht mehr in Anspruch nehmen zu müssen

In passato ho avuto un Apple Watch 2 e un Garmin Venu Sq. Mi sono orientato verso questo modello per le ottime possibilità sportive e la durata della batteria.

- ASPETTO: non c'è molto da dire, appare esattamente come in foto, da un senso di robustezza, è pensato per resistere, sicuramente non è un orologio piccolo ma non risulta nemmeno sgradevole al polso.

- SCHERMO: monocromatico, ben visibile, consuma poco ma mostra tutto ciò che serve, secondo me ottimo

-BATTERIA: dichiarati 28 giorni, con opzioni per prolungare la durata a scapito della precisione dei dati

-SENSORI: GPS affidabile, manca il multiband, unico neo a mio avviso, CARDIO buono per essere da polso, dipende poi da quanto si porta stretto l'orologio, ALTIMETRO-BAROMETRO-BUSSOLA i migliori che abbia visto per ora su un orologio, SP02 non la ho testata, la ritengo una funzione poco utile in questo tipo di prodotto. Manca ECG ma a mio avviso è una funzione spesso inserita per marketing che di certo non può sostituire una visita da un professionista e un elettrocardiografo a 12 derivazioni quindi non solo non ne sento la mancanza ma apprezzo la sua assenza

-SPORT: davvero tanti, con metriche dedicate, non differiscono solo nel nome come in tante blasonate band. 4 campi dati e diverse pagine.

-SMART: il lato smart é quello meno eccezionale, si possono leggere i messaggi e rispondere con testi preimpostati su android, personalmente è ciò che mi interessa, non amo l'idea di parlare da un orologio, però sicuramente per chi è interessato a questo aspetto non consiglio questo orologio

-MAPPE: pur essendo presenti le opzioni trakback e potendo caricare tracciati gpx mancano le mappe cartografiche e non è possibile installarle

Come da titolo, scrivo questa recensione giusto per tutelare altri clienti. Servizio di spedizione Amazon sempre all’altezza, ahimè tranne questa volta per la qualità del prodotto consegnatomi.
Il garmin in questione (premetto vengo da anni di garmin che alterno solo con il mio Apple Watch) ha presentato già il primo difetto all’apertura della confezione che non presentava i sigilli di garanzia presenti ad esempio sulla confezione del mio Fenix 6 pro acquistato sempre su questo canale. Rimossa la pellicola protettiva dallo schermo ho notato subito lo schermo graffiato ( foto in allegato anche se con la fotocamera non sono riuscito a metterlo a fuoco benissimo ma vi assicuro che è un bel graffio) ed ho dedotto che il prodotto potesse essere già stato usato per poi essere restituito. Deluso decido immediatamente di avviare la procedura di reso per avere una sostituzione, primo perché pagare più di 400€ per un prodotto nuovo e riceverlo “ricondizionato” non lo trovo eticamente e professionalmente corretto, secondo perché sono interessato al prodotto e ne vorrei avere uno perfettamente funzionante. Contatto l’assistenza, sempre cordiale, che mi spiega che per l’articolo in questione non è previsto una sostituzione ma solo il rimborso e che avrei dovuto effettuare un altro acquisto. Avendolo acquistato a rate tramite cofodis a tasso zero come primo acquisto, facendo una prova, mi sono reso conto che effettuando un nuovo acquisto avrei dovuto pagare degli interessi sul nuovo acquisto, la cosa mi ha lasciato un po’ perplesso (non perché non voglio pagare gli interessi, circa 30€, ci mancherebbe ma solo perché mi sarebbe piaciuto, visto che l’articolo lo sto riconsegnando per difetto, di ricevere lo stesso trattamento) e decido così di annullare il reso, passare sopra il graffio e quanto meno provare il prodotto che mi piace moltissimo. Beh a distanza di poche ore il cardio frequenzimetro da polso ha cessato di funzionare e non ne ha voluto più sentire di funzionare anche dopo diversi riavvii. Nonostante tutte le mie buone intenzioni sono costretto a confermare, a malincuore, il reso e ad acquistarne un altro pagandoci stavolta gli interessi. Mi era capitato di leggere recensioni di persone che acquistando su Amazon abbiano ricevuto articoli evidentemente già usati (eventuali resi)cosa che a me non era mai capitato e sempre soddisfatto ma la prima volta c’è per tutti. Suppongo a questo punto che il garmin da me acquistato era un reso di qualcuno che notato il problema l’ha restituito. Scusate se mi sono dilungato ma ho cercato di dire tutto e tutelare altri eventuali clienti.

Vorweg: habe bereits Android Smartwatches besessen, Apple Watch auch überlegt zu kaufen
.... und dann ist es die Garmin geworden, weil ich mich eher auf das wesentliche meiner Anforderungen konzentrieren wollte und das ist nicht die Funktion einer Smartwatch sondern die ordentlich Aufzeichnung und Dokumentation von Sportaktivitäten und ggf. Untersützung beim Training (z.B. Laufprogramm mit persönlichem Coaching)

Aufzeichnung Wassersport: die Uhr ist top geeignet um Windsurf Aktivitäten (und vermutlich auch andere Wassersportaktivitäten) zu tracken. Sie ist kompakt genug, dass die Uhr nicht stört, kann auch über dem Neopren getragen werden (keine Pulsaufzeichnung, ist klar) oder der Neo Ärmel ein wenig nach oben gekrempelt auch direkt auf der Haut. Die Aufzeichnungsdaten überzeugen, Geschwindigkeit, Strecke, Belastung usw... alles was man gerne nachträglich betrachtet. Manche aufgezeichnete Windsurf-Tagesleistung von 70km Strecke und mehr faszinieren einen sogar selbst weil man das nicht ohne Aufzeichnung nicht. Auch für SUP Touren sehr zu empfehlen.

Aufzeichnung Lauf: Beim Laufen verwende ich meinen mehrere Jahre alten Polar Brustgurt, auch der funktioniert problemlos mit der Uhr und es ist wirklich perfekt weil es null Aufwand verursacht. Pairing einmal gemacht muss man nichts beachten, einfach Brustgurt anlegen, alles automatisch erkannt und los gehts, so soll es sein. Die div. Programme von Garmin und Vorschläge um seine Leistung zu verbessern mit Trainingsvorschlägen beim Start der Laufaufzeichnung finde ich persönlich top. Ich hab kein besonderes Ziel und laufe nur zum Spaß, aber sich ein wenig weiter zu entwickeln mit unverbindlicher Unterstützung macht wirklich Spaß!

Gesundheitstracking: hier habe ich keine Vergleich, aber das gebotene überzeugt und ist sehr vielfältig.

Akku: Vergleichsweise genügsam, im Gegensatz zu Smartwatches mit Android oder von Apple muss man gefühlt sehr wenig auf Akkuladestand achten. Mehrere Stunden Aufzeichnung mit Puls, GPS, usw. sind problemlos möglich, sogar mehrere Tage nacheinander ohne Laden mit Kabel (auch dank integrierter PV Zelle).

Es gäbe noch viel mehr und viel detaillierteres zu berichten. Fazit: würde wieder kaufen

Ich habe jahrelang G-Shock getragen und bin nach wie vor ein großer Fan. Allderings hat mich der Funktionsumfang der Instinct 2 Solar überzeugt. Sie ist so robust wie eine G-Shock und bietet eine Smartwatch Funktion. Natürlich nicht in dem Umfang wie eine Apple Watch oder Samsung Watch...aber für mich reicht der Umfang vollständig. Hinzu kommt die lange Akkulaufzeit. Eine Apple Watch muss ich täglich laden, die Instinct lade ich alle 14 Tage! Obwohl fast alle Funktionnen an sind (Puls, Licht, Vibration, Benachrichtugng etc). Wirklich ein Traum. Bei heftiger Sonne musste ich wirklich nie laden. Aber dann muss schon extrem Sonne da sein (Kroatien 14 Tage, bei Vollauslastung nur 80% Akkuverlust). Klar ist das Antworten auf der Uhr bei einer Nachricht nicht komfortabel, aber es würde gehen. Wer also eine Uhr mit Smartfunktion (Benachrichtigung bei Nachrichten etc) sucht die "ewig" hält und schwer robust ist, hat hier die gute Lösung! Ich habe die Instinct Solar 2 Taktical....brauchen Nachtsicht und Zulu Zeit...

Wenn man mehrere Apps verwendet bzw. Überwachungsprogramme mit der Uhr verwendet schrumpft schon mal die Betriebsdauer auf 4 Tage. Betreffend dieses Problem beim Garmin Shop nachgefragt konnte der Mitarbeiter keinen Grund nennen warum die Uhr nur 4 Tage lang durchhält. Das ist traurig da man sich doch von einem Garmin Shop Mitarbeiter mehr erwartet als nur die Artikel des Shops an den Mann zu bringen.

Sicuramente un orologio un po' particolare, con molto pregi e qualche... incongruenza.
Ad esempio, la durata della batteria, che può arrivare, dice lui, a due mesi, ma in modalità solo orologio - già non praticabile, visto che se lo acquisto è per usarlo anche con le altre funzioni. Poi la cosa singolare è il "tondino" che si trova in alto a destra... è fisso, non c'è modo di lasciare libera quella parte di schermo, nemmeno se ci limitiamo alla funzione orologio. Sarà anche originale, sarà anche fico; ma riduce, e di molto, la leggibilità dello schermo, con i dati le scritte che a volte sono nascoste. Dico io, non era più ragionevole farlo via software, quel tondino, anziché costringere i vecchietti come me a dover indossare gli occhiali per riuscire a vedere qualcosa? Peraltro uno schermo di questo tipo, monocromatico ma perfettamente visibile alla luce solare diretta sarebbe l'ideale per garantire appunto lunga autonomia e buona visibilità.
Invece no, l'universo degli ipovedenti maledice, restituisce l'oggetto e si orienta su modelli più tradizionali.
Servizio Amazon, come sempre, impeccabile... Ma si sa, che lo dico a fare!?!

The watch has a monochromatic display but watch face can be customised to include things you want to monitor. The Garmin app makes the watch that much more useful!
Only wish there was an explanation for things that show n/a on display.

I own this watch for about 4 weeks now and I'm still very excited about it. It's exactly what I wanted: rugged, simple enough to be of no annoyance, resistant to water, dirt and whatever comes to it when being outdoors...
Many of my friends don't like it because it's Display does not show colors, has no touch functionality but that's exactly what I like about it.
Access to all of it's many functions is achieved by using the 4 side buttons, like it had been done with all these adventure watches from the old days. It's Display is only dark/light but readable under any circumstances and, in my personal opinion one of the best technical achievements here, it's battery can last for a reeeeally long time. Thanks to it's inbuilt solar cell it also recharges on the run (provided there is sunshine of course. And even if it's not that much, is definitely recognizable!). All in all, by using it's core functions at all times and different fitness tracker functions at least a couple of times every day it keeps going for about a month before needing to recharge. A month!!! I said I have this watch for about 4 weeks now and that means I only charged it twice so far, once on its first day in my hand and the second time a day later after extensively playing with it's various sensors (pulse oxymetric measurements and constantly playing with gps are draining a lot of battery, lol...). But till then, by keeping the spOx-measuring off and just use what's really needed I haven't charged it another time and right now it's still at 12%. I find that quite impressive!
Regarding the accuracy of those sensors (esp. heart rate- and spOx-sensors) I can say they are not as accurate as true medical equipment is (I happen to have access to such equipment...) but the heart rate measuring for example is only about 2 - 3% off, which is a) by far better then from my old (and quite cheap and simple) smart watch and b) absolutely accurate enough to get reliable fitness and body value data to use for training planning and so on.
There are a lot of functions that have little to no use for ordinary persons who are not military personnel such as jumpmaster, but that's from the military background, which the watch certainly has (I have no idea though if it's really being used in that area, but it's surely imaginable...), but if that is too much of an issue you can always select which activities to display you want to choose from.
Connectivity with the Garmin Connect App is good, the app itself lacks a few functions and has some purposely built in features I do not like (e.g. you can only use activity data for certain challenges when you have tracked them with the watch, retroactive input via App are not counting towards their goals), but that's a different story and does not affect daily use of the watch itself too much.
All in all I am very happy with this watch...

Buon prodotto resistente e comodo al polso. Ha subito poltiglia urti e cadute e funziona perfettamente il pannello solare allunga davvero la batteria in estate se si passa lunghi periodi al sole non c'è bisogno quasi di caricarlo. Top su tutti gli aspetti

Ursprünglich wollte ich meiner Frau nur eine Uhr zum Wassersport incl. Orientierung per GPS oder Kompass schenken.
Nach ärgerlichem Reinfall mit einer auch preiswerter aufgestellten "Outdoor"Marke, fiel die Wahl auf die Garmin 2s Solar Surf.
Farbe, Design und Passform für schmale Handgelenke machen die Garmin 2s optisch super chic.
Die Einrichtung und Bedienung der Uhr ist anfangs etwas anspruchsvoll. Das Menü ist dabei logisch. Es kostet etwas gut investierte Zeit, was von der Uhr mit Erfolgserlebnissen mit super Funktionalität belohnt wird. Solar ist wichtig, da die Uhr viel outdoor und auf dem Meer gebraucht wird. Somit sind auch die mit Hilfe des GPS+ darstellbaren Tiden klasse. Die Navigation (ohne Karte bzw. mit Schnittstelle zur Wander-App Komoot) bietet auf dem Wasser vielleicht Richtung und Anhaltspunkte, aber benötigt werden hier "richtige" Seekarten. Ansonsten ist die Uhr bei Messung von vielfältigen Gesundheits- bzw. Trainingswerten hervorragend. Die Trägerin ist davon völlig begeistert.
