Great value
I received the bass in the mail a few weeks ago perfectly intact and ready to play. A couple things about the shipping though. It is packaged rather sketchily. Just a foam sleeve and a box big enough to fit it inside. Made me a little nervous opening it up, but there was not cosmetic or structural damage whatsoever. Second, the strings were slightly oily out of the box. Wasn’t a big issue since they cleaned up after a few weeks of playing anyways. I was also planning on replacing the strings with some Ernie Balls at some point too.
Playability: This is a massive step up in playability even from my previous Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar bass. The high gloss neck is a turnoff for some, but I have had no issues with my thumb sticking anywhere in the neck. The inlays and binding also add a nice touch. One thing about the knobs is that the sound output isn’t linear when I turn them up. I feel that 50% of the sound increase only comes after the knobs are turned about 75% of the way up. Not a big issue at all and can’t really be expected at a bass in this price range. The tone is very clear and solid (for the most part). When the bridge pickup and tone are both all the way up, there is a noticeable buzz when plugged in at idle. The classic Jazz Bass sound is very present in this bass and is real fun to play with.
Visuals: Great all around with the block inlays, binding, vintage neck finish color, and natural body grain. The one thing that stands out to me is that the neck is not the same color as the body. It’s more yellow than the finish covering the body. Again, something I only noticed when others were saying it looked great. Pairs great with a floral design neck strap (I’ve got a blue and white floral pattern).
Construction Quality: Overall, this is very well built. It feels very similar to some Fenders I’ve played in the past. It seems that the neck is very high quality while the body is a pretty standard Squier. Nothing appears to be poorly engineered.
Value: Can’t beat this price range for a Fender style Jazz Bass. There are definitely other basses cheaper than this, but not many for this price range that sound as good as this. A definite upgrade from previous Squiers I have played.

Great Bass ........ just buy from somewhere else
The Bass is very beautiful and plays amazingly. You definitely get amazing value for your money. As with any "lower end" line there will be an issue or two, in this case the nut sits slightly to the low e side but and I mean slightly. It also needs a proper set up out of the box,. Bottom Line this Bass plays great, sounds great and looks great.......
I bought this bass from amazon and when it arrived the the bass was damaged, { box destroyed and open } Fed ex said just send it back, and Amazon ( who are usually very good ) refused to exchange it and would only do a return. The reason for this is because it went up 200 in price immediately after I bought it. So after a call to Fender the bass I bought from Amazon is in little pieces and a replacement was sent from Fender themselves.

Absolutely fantastic bass, especially for the price range!
I'm a guitarist, and wanted to branch out to play bass both for fun and for recording at home. I bought the natural wood Jazz V - it arrived in great condition. Plugged it up in a sansamp bass DI I have and it sounded great. I had originally bought an Ibanez bass (similarly priced), and while slightly more comfortable to play on the neck, it had some electrical issues and was returned. At the recommendation of a bass player I used to gig with years ago, I grabbed a Fender/Squier instead and am very happy with the choice.

The Name Says it All
This Fender jazz bass was a great buy for me. It's has a beautiful color and finish. It's lightweight but heavy enough to let you know you did not buy a cheap instrument. Great for any beginner, it entices you to play.

nice sounding
loud.plenty of growl.set up nice.just slightly out of tune.someone tuned it before shipping.came in a big ass box with foam inserts in just a week.2 volume one tone.fast neck.im finger style but you came slap all day.i tune to C standard.holds just fine.tight percussive sound in my settings.great for beginners to advanced.takes high gain well.fairly heavy(i like)sustain for days.

Terrible shipping package
Packaging was garbage. Arrived with a bent G tuning machine and a defective tone pot. Adorama blew it with regard to the shipping. It was boxed with little care for how the bass was shaking around inside.
I couldn't be bothered to take the time and effort to return it so I just fixed it myself. Had a spare pot and was able to straighten the tuner without too much trouble.
Disappointing since the rest of the bass is really fantastic. Plays great and sounds really good. Excellent bass for the money.
Just don't order it from Adorama.
"Well why didn't you reach out to customer service before blasting them here?" Because they had their chance and should have gotten it right on the first try. I don't think that's too much to ask.

Just get it!
Bought this puppy as my first bass 3 weeks ago and she's a beauty. Also plays quite well, my teacher loves it and says it plays as well as his 10yo Fender Jazz Bass (for a fraction of the price!) Factory settings were adequate, but having someone who knows what they're doing it set-up with you (specially fine tuning the string heights) is a good idea.
I was a bit leery of buying a Squier, but I am pleasantly surprised and very satisfied with this quality instrument. It's a steal for the price.

DONT BUY ONline
I brought this for temporary use, about three month until my bass got fixed in jp. Then I will probably just save it for a back up.
Now this bass is like what the top reviews said, it has a pretty good tone. I tone the string and it work fine. I think they should choose better knobs.
I dont recommend buying online, at least not Amazon. I dont have a good experience.
First I understand they have to lose the string before ship. But can they at least clean the fingerprint a little bit? Its literally everywhere, on body, neck,even under the sticker.. the greatest thing about new bass is you can peel off stickers, and then you saw finger prints under.. uh
the second is that usps did a horrible job. They try to lay my bass on my door upstraight, guess what ,boom.
If you live next to a guitar center or something, go buy there. You can probably get a bag there too. I brought online just to be safe at home..

35 years intensive bass player
I buy this bass to give a break to my old Yamaha bb 5000 and let me tell you this bass guitar is lot better than I was thinking . I look at a lot of review on the web before I give it a try and that bass is pretty good I change the string for the one I like the most (ernie ball) and set it up and wow perfect, sound great with the rumble 500,nice finish, I will used it for gig and show without any hesitation.

Beautiful jazz bass
For starters, even though the name of the item says "Fender 6 string guitar" this is in fact a Squier CV 70s jazz bass. So far im very impressed with this bass all around. Excellent finish, decent setup from factory, fast neck, good fretwork, and sounds fantastic. This bass is a STEAL for $400cad. I like it just as much as my more expensive Ibanez SR, if not better. This bass is fantastic and I'll take it on gigs for sure.

Not a Fender but...
I know that in the title it says that this is a Fender 6 string. But, obviously, from the pictures, this is a Squier bass. I was full aware of that fact when I ordered it. And to be honest, it is a great bass and actually is very cheap as it normally goes for over $500. This is a Classic Vibe 70's Squier Bass. It actually came direcly from the US and took 3 days to get here with Prime. Very pleased with it.

This Squier jazz bass 4 string is a great value for the money. Sound is vantastic tone massive. This Squier jazz bass plays and feels like a dream the neck is C shape design with a old school look and a high gloss finish. I'm very pleased with this Squier jazz bass.

Great instrument, questionable shipping.
This bass is phenomenal considering its price bracket. Pickups sound a lot clearer than older Squier basses and the finish and overall look of the bass is better than in the photos. However, It was dropped it off in its original box with no extra padding, so the body was a little chipped and scratched. Other distributers would have taken greater care with new instruments but it seems to me as if amazon is too large scale to bother.

What a fantastic bass!!
Far better than I ever expected, great build quality and a fantastic tone, there were many reasons why I chose this model and I am not disappointed in anyway. As good as many far more expensive basses

Perfect condition
I’m an absolute beginner so I can’t speak to all the characteristics, but it seems very well-made, arrived in perfect condition and was set up beautifully. A big relief after some of the horror show reviews showing dents and scratches from other vendors. Kudos to Sweetwater. Definitely recommend buying the Amazon basics stand for this too.

Better quality than expected from a Squier.
Came set up great out of the box.
Plays and sounds a lot like a MIM Fender but for a lot less money.
I'm not saying this is equal to or a replacement for a Fender but if you are a guitar player and want to have a good quality bass around for demos or jamming, you really can't go wrong for the money.
I'd even gig with it in a situation where I'd be filling in for a friend.
