The Creative ZiiSound 2.1 speaker system sounds fantastic and has an incredible array of connections possible. With any speaker system sound is always a matter of personal preference and taste, if speakers sound good to you, they are good speakers. It's always difficult to describe speakers so that somebody can make a good choice for their purposes. The next part to sound is what the speaker looks like and how easy it is to use. And finally cost comes into play. All things considered, this is an expensive, good sounding, versatile speaker system. It's possible to build a much better sounding less expensive system with a receiver and speakers, but it will lack the convenience, size, and connectivity.Sound wise, this is a very nice speaker system. As a straightforward wired pair of satellite speakers with a dedicated subwoofer, this system sounds really good. The sound isn't blow me away fantastic, but it does push the envelope on small good looking speakers that approach the bottom end of audiophile speakers. The highs are very clearly defined; in fact highs are this speaker's strong suit. With two 1.5 inch aluminum coned drivers per channel pointing directly at the sweet spot, the soundstage is clean, clear, and fairly well defined. A number of videos and lossless audio files had a whole new life of detail I hadn't heard before. The bass is kind of a different story. The subwoofer can rattle and rumble well at mid level setting (there is a crossover adjustment knob on the back of the subwoofer). Much beyond middle level and the bass starts to sound rubbery and way over driven. For music, this is really annoying. On the other hand, for video games this is probably all a good thing. Turned to minimum level, the speakers sound thin and tinny, not a good thing at all. The rubbery sound at really high level of rumble is physics just getting in the way. The amplifier is not big enough to move enough air in this small package (unlike the Sunfire subwoofers that have tons of wattage, huge speaker excursion, inside small boxes). The design is a front firing 6 inch speaker with two side facing passive 6 inch speakers (a good choice for a compact subwoofer). These speakers have an insane number of options for connectivity, speaker placement, and adjustments. It's almost mind numbing to try and understand all the options. The system can take input from, 3.5mm mini-jack to 3.5mm mini-jack (basically headphone output from a player), 3.5mm mini-jack to RCA line input, direct USB connection, Bluetooth, and apt-X adapter. The options for inputs are crazy. There is a really nice handy 3.5mm headphone jack that mutes the entire speaker system (nice for late night gaming). There is a funny little adapter included in this box that I almost blew off as useless. In fact this is the most amazing little device that takes this speaker system to a whole new level. The device is an iDevice connector that does apt-X. The improvement in sound quality with this device is nothing short of a miracle. Yes, any Bluetooth device can be paired with this system. And they sound really good. If you have an iDevice (just about every darn iPod, iPhone, iPad ever made by Apple), plug in this tiny device (about one inch square by half the thickness of an iPhone), pair it with the speaker system, and hello Nirvana. Sound is improved by a remarkable amount. Apparently this is a data compression system that allows more information to be transmitted over the Bluetooth bandwidth. The sound improvement is so great that I will never use Bluetooth connections again. There is a USB Bluetooth connector for computers that does not include the apt-X circuit, but allows Bluetooth connection for computers that lack Bluetooth. If you think this is a Bose copy from the pictures, you couldn't be farther from the truth. This system sounds infinitely better than anything home theater that was ever produced by Bose. The big difference is in the satellite speakers. These are genuinely good speakers (Bose uses incredibly cheap paper coned speakers in their satellites) with the top and bottom wired separately back to the amplifier (Bose two speaker satellites are single wired - both speakers output exactly the same sound). The drivers on the Creative system have beautiful rubber surrounds on the cones. Everything is covered or made out of spun aluminum - very light and rigid that produces tight accurate sound. Even the speaker edges are covered in aluminum. The oddity with these speakers, they are billed as 2.1 - or two channels of sound with a 0.1 or one subwoofer channel. The strange thing happens when this is wired to computer - the system magically changes to a pseudo - 5.1 system. Because the upper speakers on each channel are wired separately and they swivel, those top two speakers take on true surround channel duty. Granted it isn't as immersive as having physical speakers behind the listening position, they do a great job reflecting surround sounds against side walls an

I've been using these for a few months now, and overall I've been very happy with them. There were some things to work out in the beginning to get them to work with my computer, and I had to adjust to using the buttons on the control pod (they are contoured to the surface and right next to each other, so it's easy for me to push the wrong one) - but after getting past those issues, I really like them. The sound quality is much better than my previous two sets of speakers (ranging from $100 to $400 in cost, but the $400 set was purchased back in 1999 before such speakers got popular).I was disappointed at first because I was having difficulty getting the USB connection to be recognized by Vista. It kept reverting back to my sound card for audio, so the speaker system wasn't being used. After I went in and disabled all of the other audio options (for me, that was my sound card and integrated audio), the USB connection has worked flawlessly every since. I briefly tried out the bluetooth connection, and it worked, but I don't have a need for it right now.Just a note, which might be a "no duh" statement for some but helpful to others - the speakers are connected to the sub using wires. The system is called a "wireless bluetooth speaker system," and all of the photos of the system (at the time of this review) do not show any wires connected to the speakers, even though they indicate that they are playing music. Okay, so I'm a bit dense :), but I actually thought that maybe the speakers were rechargeable or something and connected wirelessly to the main unit. They aren't. The also use a non-standard cable to connect, so extending the distance between the speakers and the sub isn't trivial. At my computer desk, this is not an issue at all - but it's something to consider if you were planning to set these up in a different location. The sound quality of these absolutely blows away my previous set of speakers. To be fair, those cost $100 for a 5.1 system, so I would expect these to sound better. What really surprised me was the amount of bass. When I unpacked the system, my expectations dropped when I picked up the sub unit. It's pretty lightweight, and I had no hope that it would sound good. Wow, was I wrong. I could _not_ believe how much bass came out of it. I have the sub placed under my desk, which likely magnifies some frequencies, but even so - it's impressive. I used the dial on the back of the sub to turn the bass way down so that it wasn't overpowering. For me, I didn't need to use all of it's bass volume in my relatively small home office - but it will come in handy in a larger room like a living room. Now for the rub. I've waited to post my review to see if the price would drop. These were $400 when I got them, and they still are now. I highly recommend that you consider these, but I can't say that I consider them a good deal at that price. At $300, they'd be a good deal. At $200, I'd consider them a steal. Sound quality is great, at least to me. Connections are pretty good, but not complete for anything but a computer system (e.g. no optical connection that would work with a lot of TVs these days). The size is nice, and the system plays pretty loud, but the non-standard speaker cables might limit some placement options unless you modify them yourself.Pros: - Very good audio quality - Surprising amount of bass, which can be controlled on the sub module itself with a dial - USB and bluetooth connections - Large volume dial on the control pod - Headphone jack on control pod - Auxilary analog stereo input (3.5mm jack) on control pod - Stereo analog inputs on the sub moduleCons: - Small power button that is contoured to the control pod's curved surface and is right next to source button - No multi-channel analog inputs (the three 3.5mm jacks used by many sound cards), so analog connections are limited to stereo only - Non-standard cables used for speakers make extending the cables more difficult

Well, since I own two 5.1 speaker systems, I wasn't sure what to expect from this one. I was very surprised. First the hookup. From what was posted on the product page, I wasn't sure how I'd hook this system up. On my two exsisting systems, you have wires that run from the woofer to each of the speakers and these wires are standard speaker wire with bare wires at the ends that connect to the woofer. This system uses wires that ends in RCA type plugs that one plugs into the woofer. This works out pretty good if you have enough speaker cable to reach from the woofer to where you want the speakers to go. (I did notice that the front speaker wire lengths were shorter than the back speaker wire lengths so one would have to select a speaker placement that had this in mind. This did cause me a minor problem but it wasn't a major one.) I also wondered about how inputs to this system would work. On my other two systems, inputs are handled by plugging RCA type cables from the source to the woofer of this system. When I was considering buying this system, I couldn't at first figure out how the inputs were handled so I thought that the RCA to RCA plug route was how it worked. After I checked around a bit I discovered that this system truly is intended to be use with a Sound Blaster card as shown byu the way the inputs are dealth with. This system's input don't have plugs on the back of the woofer they just come out the back thru a gormet. The inputs end in 3.5 mini plugs that exactly match to jack on a Sound Blaster sound card. One covers L&R front, one L&R back, and one woofer and center speaker. This system plugged right into my SB Audigy card without any needed adapters. If you plan to use it with another sound card of some other output source then you might need adapters to do this. This sound is prety darn good for a system at this price range. I've own systems that had 12" woofers on them and while this system can't match them, it does a really good job or handling what I throw at it. In fact, it's just to loud if I turn it up too far! The only thing I've run into were a couple of settling in pops and a bit of static that was taken care of by making sure the inputs plugs from the speaker were plugged solidly into the sound card's jacks. (This was one the thing I thought I had a problem with at first when I first turned them on, but that turned out to be one of the plugs wasn't all the way in the sound card's jack. The only other thing that I feel needs to be mentioned is the location of the woofer speaker itself. This system's woofer speaker is on the bottom of the woofer's enclosure. So you really need to sit the woofer encloser on the floor to get the best sound, I minor point but I feel an important one. Also the woofer speaker has no cover over it so when handling it be careful not to touch the under side of the woofer encloser as you might damage the woofer. Overall I think a pretty good buy!!

I was given these speakers to evaluate as part of my participation in Amazon's Vine program. Although these speakers were given for review, there is no mandate as to how many stars they are given and my review is without pressure or bias. That said, this is my fourth speaker set through Vine and they were well recieved.Creative launched the ZiiSound T6 in November 2010. This speaker system works with all Bluetooth devices, has an easy setup and provides a few options other than Bluetooth for audio inputs. What you have here are 2 swivel type speakers on metal stands, with two speakers on each stand that independantly move to provide sound in all directions. Plus, you have the sub, which has the controls and inputs on the back. These speakers are solid. They are eyecatching and most importantly - they deliver a crisp sound with a kickin bass. The sub is enough to make you feel like the music is going right through you, even without the volume tweaked up. Creative calls this their "Slam" three-drive-subwoofer, which they claim delivers Low Frequency Effects. Well, it is nice. Really nice.Set-up could not possibly be easier. Your two swivel type speakers plug into the back with a nice, sturdy, dual RCA input cord. The swivel knob controller goes into the back, and has a headphone in jack as well as a few source buttons for easy switching. It also has a rear RCA input. They even threw in all the cables you would need. Some other manufacturers should take note. ;)My setup - I could not wait to test these out. I had been waiting for this system for a couple weeks and was so excited to put music on so I grabbed my Acer Iconia and used the audio out cables to plug it into the RCA. Yeah, I know I could have done the bt connection but I was wanting to read, first so the cable connection was the first thing I thought of. Put on my Amazon MP3 app and started playing my music. Of course I had to put on some Flo Rida to test out that bass. Had the whole house groovin to "Good Feeling" and the bass was crazy - I actually turned it down a shade so I could hear the treble, too. First time that has happened. For comparison, I have a Sharp sound system for my home theater and this little Creative set actually blasted me right out of my kitchen with as effective a bass as the larger speaker set. That was impressive. And it sounds a bit superficial, but Creative put in a nice user manuel in with the product, and everything was very well packaged.Everything has worked out so far in further testing - the bt connection between the Iconia and the system was just fine. The 3.5 jack is nice to allow me to hook up whatever I want into these speakers. The only problem I have is where to put these things in my home! :)Features (according to manufacturer's insert) :Swivel satellite top drivers for Surround or Stereo applicationsUSB 5.1 audioLow latency apt-x0codeAudiophile-grade satellite driversCreative Slam subwoofer with Low Frequency EffectsIR remote controlThere are a couple tiny nitnoid issues I have. Very small, I might add. One is that I wish it had an HDMI in, that would have been sweet since I would have been able to plug in my cable box or even put these on my DVDO edge. No big deal though, I am sure I will get over it. The other is that I feel the power cord is a teeny bit too short. For these small nit-noid issues I took off one star, but am teetering on giving it back over the next few weeks that I eval them. Other than that, I totally love these speakers. As with any of my reviews, if I run into issues or discover new positives I haven't noted already, I will be sure to update in a timely manner. I hope this review was informative and helpful!

The 1 star reviewers seems to be in need of an audiologist and a subscription to Mechanics Illustrated. Who whines about plugging in a USB, RCA, 3.5 mini, or power cord. Perhaps an English man servant is needed.I bought my set used for under 3 bills. I returned the 2 other brand names after comparing all 3 over a 2 day period. Both other sets were 3.5 bills. Creative was the clear winner. I've had no problems with operation of either Bluetooth or 3.5 mini. The Creatives sound bigger and are physically smaller. Subwoofers especially consume lots of current, how can anyone expect speakers to work with out a AC power source? hence a wire. Hard wiring speakers always sound better than wireless. How can anyone expect the nuances of musical transients, dynamics and the ambiance of the room, hall , theater to be reproduced honestly with wireless. Maybe in 25 or 30 years from now. This is the second pair of Creative speakers I own. The first pr. are highly portable and I love the way they sound, for their size. They're not wireless, they have one of those damn USB cables that I can never figure out which side is up.Sound can be a very personally objective choice. No 2 people, in the world, hear exactly the same way.Update: after about 3 weeks these speakers sound even better. Bigger sound stage and more depth. The bass has evened out as well and is nice and deep, love them.

This set of speakers puts out great sound. And that's really what it is all about with speakers, in my opinion. The small tower pairs are rather heavy for their size, meaning they likely have nice weighty magnets, which is probably why they put out good volume with crispness and clarity. The sub-woofer unit is a nice size, and likewise puts out a nice full bass that fills in the sound admirably. I love classical music, and this set produces wonderfully clear and full sound that has both clarity as well as richness and depth, and it also really pumps out the rock music or sings out the jazz. This set has multiple input options (the sub-woofer unit also doubles as the main hub and amp for the unit):*bluetooth (which produces a beautiful crisp sound for movies, music, or games)*USB 2.0 input*RCA inputs (meaning you can hook it up to your TV, current stereo system, a CD or DVD player, etc.)*Headphone/aux line input (via a RCA to headphone jack cord or via a headphone-style input jack on the control unit; this allows you to hook up non-bluetooth MP3 players, older computers, and pretty much anything that has a headphone jack)*The unit also includes a USB bluetooth chip, so you can use the bluetooth feature with a non-bluetooth-compatible computer system. (Also available for purchase is an iPod bluetooth adapter that likewise adds bluetooth capability to some older iPods and other apple devices that don't have it, though some older iPods, like my first-generation Nano aren't compatible.)The set is controlled by a round control unit that connects via a cord to the main sub-woofer unit. This has the power button, source button, and the bluetooth sync button, headphone output jack and headphone-style input jack, as well as a large dial that controls the volume, a really nice feature that makes for an attractive and functional way to control the volume and the other features of the set, but because it's on a cord, it can only be a few feet away from the sub, which might limit your placement somewhat. The speaker pairs are likewise connected to the main sub by RCA speaker cords, which are of a decent length, but they're not overlong, so again, this might limit your speaker placement somewhat. There is also a small dial on the back of the sub unit for controlling the bass level, as various songs or music types might call for a different recipe for bass fill, and this helpfully allows you to keep the bass from overpowering the music on tracks that have a lot of bass. The set also includes a remote control that controls volume, input, etc.In all, this is an outstanding unit with some great features and really outstanding sound. It has made even music that is familiar sound fresh and new, especially through the bluetooth connection, which makes for incredibly clear sound.

So in a speaker system like this, you've got two things to look at: the functionality and flexibility of them, and the sound quality. In th case of the ZiiSound, they land in two different places. For functionality, this gets five stars. It's very easy to set up: the speakers and control pod plug into the sub, the sub plugs into the wall. Now, just connect it to your sound source, which is done via USB, Bluetooth, or RCA cables (no optical input or HDMI in/through), and you're done. Computer or iPod doesn't have BT? No prob, they include two BT dongles - one for a USB port, and one for an iPod. Short on cabling? Again, don't worry - they include both USB and RCA cables. So on set up and provided materials, you really couldn't ask for more. One note though: EVERY picture of these makes it appear that the satellite speakers are wireless - they are not. I didn't expect them to be, but from the box you might be confused (particularly as the box has a sticker on it saying "Pure Wireless").Control is via a simple and nice looking round pod that sits on your desktop. The entire top spins for volume control - beneath that section are buttons for source and power, as well as a headphone out and aux input (via 1/8" mini jack). Again, providing great flexibility and an easy way to quickly connect an extra device.Sound, while not quite living up to the rest, certainly wasn't bad. They're PLENTY loud, highs were reproduced well, and the thing had a ton of fairly tight bass - a bit too much in fact: as another reviewer said, even at it's lowest setting, it had a bit too much, particularly if you are looking for true reproduction of source material.I compared the system to the set of studio monitors I normally use (I have a history as an engineer and producer and have used the same monitors for over 2 decades) and found them to be overly boxy - an exaggerated mid that I didn't personally like much at all. HOWEVER - no such complaints were coming from family members, all of whom were happy with them. But these weren't meant to be used to mix records. If you want something that's easy and flexible to set up that can be quickly dropped into a system and used via BT - this is not a bad choice. But if, like me, you value accuracy (or have made a record or two in your day), you might want to consider spending the $400 on a better pair of pure speakers and use them with an amp.So five stars for functionality, three for sound - and average of four. Cheat it up or down as you see fit, depending on your particular needs.

Unboxing these is a treat and set up is easy and straightforward. You just have to choose where the various speakers go. The issue, if any, will be in the software/hardware interface. I have found that my older Vista-running box had a few issues; the sound card doesn't seem to be able to run the entire 5.1 speaker system so that there are a few glitches: sound will only come out of the smallest pair of speakers, etc. I think it also depends on the multimedia application you're using in addition to the sound card.Nevertheless, when I was able to figure out the proper combination, the quality of sound is very good. It's not the best I've ever heard, but that was with some really expensive Bang & Olufsen speakers. One other problem: running the speaker wires around the room. Like me, you'll have to live with trailing long, tiny black speaker wires and hopefully not tripping over them. If you can hide those in a creative way, you'll really like this set from Creative. 4 stars.

I just hooked this sound system up to my PC. It works well. It has the center, front left / right, and side left / right speakers, as well as the sub woofer, which is the core controller for the speakers. I do like that it has a wired remote for volume, and power, which even has a little LED to make it easy to find when the lights are out for movie watching. My only gripe is that the speaker cables are too short to really move the speakers where I'd like them to be. However, don't panic, you can just get some audio cables that have RCA males on one end, and RCA females on the other, and extend the reach of your speakers, no problem at all. :) I also like that Creative included sticky labels to put on the speakers, as well as the connector ends so you don't have to worry when it comes time to disconnect for whatever reason.

I've been using these for a few weeks. There's some good, some bad, and some ugly. Overall, for the money, I'd get a normal set of speakers and stick with them - $400 buys a LOT of speaker these days.Pros:- USB connection means a perfect digital connection. I don't have to mess with my sound card or anything else - it just works.- Full range speakers. Full range. Sounds wonderful out of the box.- I really like the dial volume control. It moves smoothly, has a long cord, and can go anywhere on my desk. Plus it looks pretty slick.- Remote control works well from anywhere in the room. It's not a big issue for me using them as desktop speakers- The 5.1 setup works great. Playing BF3 gives me full (mock) surround sound out of a small footprint, with no wires everywhere.Cons:- However, sometimes Windows (Vista) has problems identifying that the speakers are plugged in and they simply don't work. Have to go enable them separately. I'm not sure why this is, but it's annoying.- Even with the bass turned all the way down, I still find them too bass heavy. I want to listen to all the music / movie / game, not just thump bass.- The power button is very small, dark, and hard to hit. It's also right next to the source button, so I frequently hit the wrong one.- The source light is amber for usb, and green for bluetooth. Um, amber is usually standby on things. Why not green for USB and BLUE for Bluetooth? It's a silly thing but makes me think they're off or on standby.Weird:- I don't see the point of them being bluetooth. It came with two adapters - one for the computer, and one for an iPhone/iPod touch. My iPhone already has Bluetooth, so I don't need that. Maybe for a touch, it would be useful? Otherwise, they're big, bulky, and need power, so I won't simply set them in the corner and use them for my laptop (which also has Bluetooth).Overall, I'd buy a Bluetooth wireless boombox like this one: Logitech Wireless Boombox for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch for my iPhone/iPad and laptop, then a nice set of wired speakers for my desktop. It'd still be cheaper than this setup. If they were wireless, bluetooth speakers, I'd think they were a lot neater.

Comparatively speaking a similar set of computer speakers is generally going to run you a bit more money so out of the box these are a pretty attractive deal. The sound quality is about what I'd expect. I don't tend to put my PC speakers through an audio gauntlet by any means but they're serviceable for gaming, videos, and music. So all things considered I'm okay with the speakers, they've been holding up fairly well. Why the 3 stars?Unfortunately these speakers use RCA cables which I guess in a sense shouldn't be a knock against them but it isn't really something I was expecting, documented on the product page, or prepared to deal with. So rather than firing up these nice bargain speakers day 1, I instead had to throw more money at them purchasing an adapter and subsequently waiting for it to arrive. It sours the price and experience a little. It's been a while since I've assembled a new computer but as of the building of my current computer RCA audio ports on a motherboard were fairly uncommon if not pretty well rare, something I would hazard a guess hasn't changed. I would go as far as to say it's downright bizarre to have "PC speakers" with an RCA interface. Anyways, small problem, small fix, no less annoying IMO.All things considered if you can get the speakers and any necessary adapters you may require for less than the price of something 'better' then by all accounts they're more or less the same. If you'd rather just bypass the annoyance of having another thing in a long chain of other things then I'd just shop a different brand/model.

The last set of computer speakers I reviewed didn't seem to have enough bang for the buck. I didn't think the sound had enough range to justify moving away from the super cheap type of speakers. These are on the other side of that equation. They sound very nice. I'm surprised that the price is so low, but then I realize that it's just speakers. There's no true receiver and no decoder. Which is fine, if your sound card has the right outputs.I was expecting to plug a toslink cable into these, but there's no toslink input. What you get instead are three 3.5 mm jacks to plug into your sound card. One handles stereo for the front, one handles stereo for the back, and one handles the center speaker and subwoofer. I was surprised to see that my motherboard actually had the right jacks for this, but now I'm realizing this is becoming (or has become) standard. So before you purchase this product, look on your computer for those three audio output 3.5mm jacks.I also plugged the subwoofer jack into the wrong port and at first was alarmed that the subwoofer wasn't working. Soon as I realized what I did wrong, everything was great. How does it sound? Awesome. The bass is great, the sound is clear. For the price, I don't see how anyone could be unsatisfied with the audio quality. If you want better, you will have to spend several hundred dollars. I turn it up halfway and it's much louder than I'll ever want it. The room my computer is in is about 900 square feet, and the system is more than up to the task.I wouldn't say this is a con, but I noticed the speakers do not hook up with conventional speaker cable. Thus, the prewiring in my room (to avoid cables running across the room) can't be used. That's just something to be aware of. The cables Creative used were RCA Audio type plugs. The little volume switch is a nice touch.Given the simplicity of this product, if you've got the output jacks and your operating system is set up to send out the 5.1 audio, this will work reliably. I would happily pay the purchase price for this product.

Title says it all. I am very pleased with this set of 5.1 speakers from Creative. In years past the quality of Creative Labs has gone from top of the line down to the worst garbage on the planet. Its taken them some time to rebuild their reputation as a quality product. Enter into the mix this set of multimedia speakers. At first setup I was underwhelmed at their choice of volume control. In the past I have had similar sets and I always hated the small dial volume control. I prefer a larger knob something like you would find on a similar Klipsch speaker set. Other than that it was very easy to set up and sounds very tight.Pros:+ Easy to set up if you are installing this in a PC system. If not see Cons below.+ Decent sound at a very reasonable price point.+ Looks good with piano black and high gloss finishCons:- Did not come with a mini jack to RCA adapter. Mine didnt at least, which meant I had to run out and buy a female mini to male RCA adapter for use with my AV system.- Volume control leaves alot to be desired.Overall I am very happy with this set.Thank you for reading my review.

Had previously owned a Creative Inspire 5.1 5300 5.1 surround sound system for my PC and it held it well until our new puppy chewed through several of the cables that cannot be replaced as the product is obsoleted and there was some degradation of the sound (noise from the speakers) that had developed over time that prompted me to buy new. The new Creative Inspire T6160 5.1 multimedia speaker system arrived very quickly from Amazon as does everything I have bought from Amazon. However, the construction of the new Inspire T6160 5.1 is not as nice as the Creative Inspire 5.1 5300 5.1 and the Sub-woofer did not work. After doing a web search I found others who had problems with their sub-woofer and had a new Inspire T6160 5.1 sent from Amazon that after receiving solved the sub-woofer problem. I would rank the working product as good for the low-end cost. Yet there has been a known problem with this product for some time that has yet to be solved by creative so I would recommend looking for a better manufactured product(e.g. Yamaha).

Many years ago I purchased a Creative 7.1 surround speaker system and to this day it still works great. I recently decided to setup a second computer so I ordered this speaker system to replace my aging 7.1 system. After receiving the speakers I proceeded to unbox / hook them up. It took some configuring to get sound out of more than just the front speakers but I eventually had sound from the fronts, rears and center. Long story short when I tried to get sound from the subwoofer there was nothing. I went so far as to hook up headphones to all the speaker outlets on the sound card to insure all was working. I even tried hooking up the subwoofer input to the front speaker outputs from the sound card. Still nothing.I sent an RMA request and a Tech support request to Creative. After 4 days I finally received a response to my tech support request. After assuring the tech support person all was well with the sound card in a return email I still have not received another reply. The RMA request has apparently vanished into the ether. It has been 2 weeks since I placed my order here at Amazon and I still do not have properly working speakers.Returning the speakers to Amazon today for an exchange since there isn't much out there any better than these. If second set is DOA or problems I will likely never use Creative products again. Creative used to be the "Shiznit" when it came to sound products. 10 years ago you couldn't find better equipment. It seems they have really let their products degrade considerably in the last few years. If you can find similar / better equipment take my advice and go with it. It seems if you purchase Creative products and have problems you will have even more issues just reaching someone for help as they only have email support on their website. Apparently they discontinued the phones in India and have to have an errand boy run the emails over to the tech support center. Am guessing that is what takes their tech support so long to click reply button on the email.UPDATE: February 02, 2012 Creative finally authorized my RMA. Only took them about a month.

I know that these are cheap speakers and I know that you get what you payed for. However, I'm one of those guys who always roots for underdogs, the second best guys. I've always preferred AMD to Intel, Ati to Nvidia, Vegeta to Goku. I thought that I should give it a chance. I bought these speakers. After I plugged them I started hearing static noise when nothing is playing. It drove me nuts. I started having a headache. I couldn't handle it, and turned them off, repacked them and returned them. Besides that noise, there is a design flaw. Imagine sitting on your desktop. Center satellite... shouldn't it be flat, so we could put it under the monitor? Not this one... I didn't know where to put it. I had to flip it on a side.I recommend spending $20 more dollars and getting Logitech Z506

The speakers alone are deserving of five stars, as the sound of the 5 smaller speakers is crisp and clear while the subwoofer emits a booming sound quality that is great for watching movies and dramatic tv shows. The reason this speaker system loses a star lies in two annoying issues. First, you need an adapter to make these speakers work on your TV, an annoying issue that Creative in my opinion attempts to hide from the consumer as the box for the product shows what appears to be a smaller television mounted on the wall. I don't know about you, but I don't know very many people who have their computer monitors mounted to the wall. Additionally, Creative doesn't provide any useful information in their set-up instructions on what would be needed to connect these speakers to a tv set. Luckily, a fellow Amazon reviewer provided the model number of the adapter needed (Logitech 5.1 Game Console Adapter Convert Rca Plugs To A Single 1/8 which sells on Amazon for $8.50, and you'll also need white and red RCA cables if you don't have any spares lying around). After getting the adapter and cable, the speaker system sounds great and works wonderfully. I just wish Creative didn't employ deceptive advertising on the box or at the very least told the consumer what they would need to hook up the speakers to a tv. The only other complaint I have is that the remote control cable could be longer, as I have to get up to adjust the volume because the cord isn't nearly long enough to make it to my couch. Other than these two complaints, these speakers sound great and are a great addition to my family room.

Плохо

I've liked most of Creative's products in the past, so I looked forward to trying out the Inspire T6160s. They came neatly packaged but the set up instructions left me wanting. After the cumbersome job of wiring 5 speakers to the sub, I hooked it up to my son's Windows Vista (SP2) desktop. There are A LOT of wires. This part took even longer, trying out different ports and various settings until I got "most" of the speakers working. I say most because no matter what I tried, I was not able to get them all operating; even after updating drivers and extensive troubleshooting. As I said, the instructions were little help, and I couldn't get any response back from Creative's customer service. In the end, I got the 3 of "front" speakers working as well as the sub. That will have to be good enough I guess unless I decide to spend more hours trying to figure it out. Audio quality is above average - about what I expected. Music is clear and has depth. The solid bass from the sub gives games added punch. If you can get all of the speakers working with your system or don't mind not using all of them, then this set is a decent value. The wired volume control adds more wires and is a bit awkward to handle. We've been using it for a few months now and after the initial set-up have had no functional problems.3.5 stars, rounding down.~ Kort

I listen to a lot of music and play a lot of games on my home pc. The sound quality from this speaker system was NOT what I expected! IT WAS 10X BETTER! Pure rich bass, crisp highs and mid ranges. This speaker system FILLS my room. (I have a BIG room!)I only have the bass turned up 1/4 of the way and the bass BOOMS but sounds great with no rattles. I listen to many different music genres from jazz to classic rock and everything sounds great! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Ужасно

After getting the speakers installed I turned them on at the lowest volume. There was a constant hissing interference sound coming from all the speakers. It was really annoying. The sound got louder as you turned up the volume, as you would think it would. When music was playing it was fine because it would drown out the hiss. Returning because I can not deal with the high pitched hissing.Issue was present when not plugged into my computer AND when plugged into my computer. So it wasn't just an "issue" with my sound card or "software".

I like it so much, but theres is no info as to how to plug it, the order of plugging to the subwoofer is missing. Then you start having problems like you dont hear all the 5 speakers, but later if you try harder you find the correct sequence of connection to the subwoofer in order to get all speakers working and giving the expected sound.

I'm replacing a different set of creative speakers with these. I don't need anything that blows me away but, I do want full rich sound quality. The replacement went very smoothly. simply unplug the old and plug in the new. The speakers are smaller than I expected. The sound quality is good - the wires are long enough for my setup as well (large L shaped desk).Currently I have no complaints about this product but, if over time something goes haywire, I will report back.Creative has not failed me yet.

I bought these speakers to get away from the completely worthless internal speaker(s?) in my home PC LED monitor. The only requirement was that the speakers have some sort of digital connection option, because I hate the buzz of an analog cable. When nothing is playing I don't want to hear ANYTHING from my speakers.I started out using the Creative ZiiSound T6 with the included Bluetooth USB dongle. It worked well, but I noticed a slight delay between picture and audio when watching video. If like me you're someone who notices when lip movements don't quite match voices, hand claps/percussion aren't simultaneous with their impacts, etc. (and you watch movies), you'll sadly find the Bluetooth connection option unusable. (Just listening to music/radio/podcasts, of course, is no problem.) I know some people don't seem to notice the separation, but I always do.However, switching to the included USB cable fixed the issue, and is the only way to use the pseudo 5.1 surround sound emulation anyway. Not being an audiophile, all I can tell you about the sound quality is that these speakers sound great, are loud as hell, and if you like bass they're ideal. (Because as others have mentioned, the bass levels are a little high even when the subwoofer is turned down as far as it can go.)I'm primarily writing this review to warn away anyone looking to buy these speakers for the wireless Bluetooth option. I'm happy with my purchase because the set sounds great, but the Bluetooth connection option just doesn't cut it.

I made the mistake of ordering the Corsair Gaming Audio Series SP2500 and quickly returned them. I bought this system and am EXTRAORDINARILY PLEASED! They come nicely package and are easy to set up-- no instructions needed. I've been a fan of Cambridge Soundworks for many years and that's who these are made by. Super crystal clear, nice mid's and plenty of bass. The round control knob is convenient and smooth as butter-- I can't stop playing with it. As far as video is concerned, I played an action clip from Avatar-- aircraft flying, trees crashing, creatures running through a forest and I was floored at the quality of the surround sound. I didn't buy them for this purpose but what a nice bonus! The subwoofer is a nice/modest size and puts out wonderful bass that is adjustable with a convenient know on the actual box. If you appreciate GOOD, CLEAR, QUALITY sound, then this is for you. One more note... I compared these carefully to the Bose Companion 5 speakers at about the same price and these FAR OUTPERFORM THEM!!!
