I own a set of Bose Companion 5s that I use in my home office. I received the Creative Gigaworks T3 system as a Christmas gift (from my Amazon wish list where I put it after reading reviews). I think the sound is quite good, though the subwoofer is rather boomy, even with adjustment. No real complaints about the sound though. I don't agree with those who think the sound of the Creative speakers is better than the Bose system. Also, the Bose system seems substantially better made....less "cheap" feeling. I refer in particular to the connections for the speakers which were hard to plug in to the back of the subwoofer...they seemed too small and I was afraid I'd break them if I pushed too hard. Also, the volume device seems less substantial and doesn't adhere to the desk top like the Bose knob does, either. I like the Bose better in this regard since the Bose knob doesn't wander around my desk. I slso like the quick mute on the Bose (tap the top of the volume knob). There is nothing on the Creative unit like this (that I've figured out, anyway). All in all, since the sound is quite comparable, I think the Creative system is a good option at about $100 less than Bose Companion 5 system, though.I can't really play the system at full volume (I'm in a patient care area in the hospital where I work). But at volumes that avoid having people knocking on my door, it sounds quite good.

I bought these for school after my ears hurt from wearing headphones all the time (earbuds and larger ones). The sound quality off these are very nice, giving you a nice wide range of sound that isn't distorted or too low (as with many other speakers' mid range). I'm currently playing these off my laptop's relatively poor Realtek codec, so I can't really compare it to my previous Altec set at home which was played off a much higher grade Xonar desktop card, however it sounds comfortable over long periods of listening, various types of music, movies, and definitely gaming. What makes this really stand out over other speaker sets is the looks, mid-range performance, and the subwoofer. The sub is what I payed $100~ over the T20/40s (which are decent too, friend has them) for. Lows are deep, not the boomy type, and the controls on the back really do allow you to fine tune the sub to your liking.The included control pod looks classy as well as easy to use. At this price range though, I expected to see some sort of remote (though I never used the remote on my other PC speakers after setting it up), especially for the bass component as that is located at the back of the unit.I suggest this set to those who want high quality sound in a compact package (the speakers and sub are quite small vs other PC speakers). I don't think I've heard a more well balanced set (either emphasis on highs or lows), this set does the full-range really well. I do suggest people to actually go to a store to try them out if they match your tastes. If you test them, please use high quality files (320kbs MP3s or lossless codecs), if you test them with 128kbs files, anything will sound crappy. For people who don't really need the sub, T20s/T40s are a good choice too.

I recently purchased a new computer, and decided it was time to look for some new speakers. My old Harmon Kardon speakers were OK, but there was a couple of things I didn't like about them. First, the power switch was on the subwoofer (under the desk), and I wanted an easier way to power them on/off. I also didn't particularly care for the sound sound produced based on the speaker footprint; they were big, but they didn't sound big.I went to one of the local computer stores, and spent some time listening to quite a variety of 2.1 speaker sets (don't have the space or interest for the 5+ speaker sets). The creative labs gigaworks speakers really impressed me. The footprint for both the subwoofer and stereo pair was fairly small, but the sound produced was extremely full. I'm amazed at how far the speaker technology has come since I last looked at computer speakers. Here's my subjective list of pros/cons:Pros:* Sound/clarity. I'm not sure how to quantify this, but they do sound wonderful. I would urge anyone considering spending this much money on speakers to actually hear them before buying, as what I think sounds great may not be to your taste. But for me these really satisfy my sound palette.* Footprint: I don't have a ton of space to work with, and these were fairly compact.* The volume control. There is a rotary dial volume control that is very easy to use/intuitive. I love digital, but I confess I like the old "analog style" rotary volume control. Place this near your "mouse hand", and it's easy to adjust volume very quickly for any inbound phone calls, etc. And if you turn the volume all the way down, the amp will cut off altogether.* Headphone/auxiliary jack. This is placed on the rotary dial I mentioned above. Very easy to plug in a set of headphones or other input source as needed.Cons:* Price. It's a lot to spend on a computer speakers, at least for me. But I don't regret it.* For some reason, I didn't receive a power cord in the box. No big deal, the unit accepts a standard "figure 8" power cord, but the cord really should be there.* The midrange may be a little soft. Again, this is subjective.In summary, I urge you to give these a listen if you are in the market for a 2.1 speaker set in this price range. I don't think you will be disappointed.Thanks for reading.

I originally purchased a Bose set to replace the speakers I had (which were Boston Acoustics). I ended up with the Bose Companion speakers, and did NOT like the sound. There was no 'Boom' in the base. I was not getting what I thought would have been the best quality that Bose offered. So I returned them, and used that to make my purchase of these Creative speakers.I instantly noticed a difference! I got everything I needed in the sound. The boom was there. Deep base and good treble. My namesake is the lowest base singer in the world JD Sumner, who was the backup group for Elvis Presley. If I want deep base, I know where I can find it. This is what I wanted and more! There should be 10 stars here instead of that measly 5!Thanks!

I had a Creative Inspire 6600 6.1 speaker system which I've used for about 5 years, (only using two speakers on it) and decided I would treat myself with an upgrade to the Creative T3 speakers.I've plugged them in side by side to have a listen and really am not that impressed with them.The subwoofer is more 'boomy' and doesn't give a good representation of bass guitar. The speakers look nicer sure, but my old ones gave a warmer and smoother sound.When listening at the quietish volumes I usually have, you basically only hear the kick drum and some bass guitar briefly, you have to turn the level of the bass up then the kick drum is too loud and all this time you have to get down on your knees to adjust the bass level as there is no adjustment for that on the remote.The volume control squeaks sometimes when turning the volume up.All in all, wish I had saved the money and bought a new monitor or something instead. Maybe if it was 1/2 price or even 3/4 the price I wouldn't be as disappointed, but these are not good value for money on the sound quality side.

I bought the GigaWorks T3 setup to replace an aging Klipsch ProMedia speaker system for my computer. The Klipsch's are good speakers with great bass, but they are quite large and heavy. Too big for the apartment I now live in. The small size of the T3's satellites, and compact subwoofer, make it perfect for folks that want big sound in a small package. Sound quality is very good, bordering on exceptional, whether listening to jazz or heavy metal. Bass is very powerful from the subwoofer--quite a feat for such a small unit. Mid-range is about as good as you can get from tiny satellite speakers, not quite as clear as a pair of high-dollar headphones, but the best you're gonna find in a 2.1 setup for a computer. Build-quality seems good with decent cables and solid speaker construction, and the packaging keeps it in one piece. The volume control is a handy puck-shaped object that you can keep near your mousepad for quick access. Only change I would make to this product would be to put a mute switch on the volume control. Overall, I highly recommend the T3's for music-lovers who do their listening through their computers. And, for any gamers out there that want to step-up to better quality sound.

Before hearing these speakers I wouldn't have known that you could get such amazing quality from a small set of 2.1 speakers, but these are worth shelving your headphones for. They work equally well for music and movies, with amazingly crisp highs and explosive bass. If you are thinking of using them for your computer, they are definitely worth shelling out the extra dollars for.I had to turn my bass all the way down and have never increased it for any type of listening and it still makes the room rumble. The speakers also won't bottom out like cheaper ones when they're modestly turned up to watch a movie.When the speakers are cranked up to near their limits (which is very loud for their size), you can notice a decrease in bass so they would't be the best choice as a replacement for your home stereo in a large room, but for a bedroom or office, they are the perfect choice.

This 2.1 product really sounds good- the sound quality is excellent all through the volume levels even though the satellite speakers are so small. The set is super compact, so you can put it almost anywhere and it is easy to move around. It also has amazing connectivity- you can connect it to almost anything with any sort of output. They really boom for their size and the quality is the best i've heard from any speakers in a long time.

I have rarely written reviews for anything. These speakers are beyond quality of any computer speakers I have ever experienced. I consider myself an Audiophile and am so very impressed with the sound quality. I received the speakers today and have literally been sitting here for hours listening to all types of different music. If you are considering this set, don't even hesitate. You will be so impressed!!

These speakers exceeded my expectations! My previous speaker system was a $100 5.1 Cyber Acoustics set, but the subwoofer in this T3 system is much better! I did a side-by-side comparison and the Creative speakers were definitely better.I was about to purchase the Bose companion 2.1 system, but these were cheaper and newer.The release date on the Bose was September 24, 2006The release date on the Creative was February 9, 2009So I went ahead and bought the Creative speakers because I figured the technology was newer.I have a pair of Bose on-ear headphones and they are amazing, so I respect the Bose brand. However, I know Bose products are rarely on sale and there is a considerable mark up on their products. So I thought I'd get a better value with the Creative speakers.The cool thing about the subwoofer is that it has a three driver configuration so the subwoofer looks like it's three sided. They call it SLAM technology, but that's just silly marketing stuff...The satellite speakers look great and have a very small footprint.Creative markets this as having audiophile grade drivers. I'm not an expert, but they sound noticeably better than $100 sets.

For two big ones, I wasn't sure if my $25 alienware 2.1 setup needed an upgrade. The audio quality is obviously a lot better. Also, the feature to connect a line in allows me to hook up my TV as well. Both the TV and PC come through at the same time, but it works perfectly as I can quickly send sound through my laptop if not listening to music or could simply disconnect the TV from the volume roller.All of this was compared to a $75 5.1 setup that would have only gotten in the way and had several reviewers complain of speaker failure.The only gripe I have is longer better cables could have been used for the Y jack, line in, and power as you never know when these are going to be stretched or stomped on - of course the cheapest thing to upgrade is also the first thing to be neglected.Thank you Amazon for quick shipment :)

This is the thirt set of Creative speakers I bought so here's my two cents:Pros:- Powerful sound for a small room (I used it with my DVD player and has a nice deep bass for its size and price)- Excellent POWER/PRICE ratio.Cons:- No bass control.- No headphone jack.- Too much cables.- If the source does not have equalization control you may need a sock to reduce bass. It sounded awful with my Philips MP3 CD Player, sounds nice with my Pioneer DVD Player and sounds excellent with any PC once you equalize it to your liking.Depending on where you want to place it you may want to consider Logitech's R20 2.1 speaker set.For richer sound consider the larger 2.1 set from Creative wich has the same design, a large sub-woofer and bass control.

This 3 speakers give and spectacular and powerfull sound!! They're perfect for the house or office when you want a great quality of the sound. I'm very happy with this purchase and the delivery time was awesome!! I really do recommend these speakers! 5 stars!!

These are excellent speakers. These speakers have no hum. I was looking for speakers without that annoying hum when the sound is not on, and these speakers have no hum at all. The price was incredible, so I thought I would try them. I would have paid well over the price I received them for.

I have owned 6 sets of this style over the years, my whole family has used them. We took the larger set everywhere - to the hospital when my wife gave birth, on vacation, etc... and people always asked what they were due to the great sound. The last pair before these that we bought were the original version, the "PC Works" set. It was tiny, plastic, and EXCELLENT for its size.That's ALL over now. This set has terrible midrange response, tinny treble and muddy, thumpy, messy bass, at any volume.I've recommended these to many people, now I'm a little afraid that my most recent advice resulted in the purchase of these horrid little things - and that I'll never be trusted again...

These speakers are great! Inexpensive and the sound quality is good. Nothing spectacular but hey - they sure beat a lot of other same price ranged items out there...There are no bass or trebel controls but the general tone is good. Not bad if you're on a budget but crave rich sound.

After I did a little research on Amazon with other peoples reviews and had it narrowed down to three I decided to buy these. I can not believe the sound that comes out of these!!! There is no static or buzzing sound. Even when it is on low the sound is so clear. I strongly reccomend these speakers to anyone who wants to use minimal space and have a quality sound with a great low price!

OK, all I wanted to say is that these speakers are amazing. I guess I dont have much to campare them to since the last speakers I had were these crappy ones that came with my computor, but still, this is an AWESOME system. I got it as a present from my sister, and after hearing how good they sound I was stunned to see that they are only twentysix dollars. They have a great sub-woofer that can almost get too loud sometimes, and they look good too. I know everyone is gonna say my review isn't helpful but all there is to say is that this is a great buy. Unless you want a friggin movie theater surround system that costs a thousand bucks, this will do the job....by the way they can get REALLY loud too. ;)

I bought this speker system expecting a bit more from creative. Its sound good but some time feels like buss is bit muddy and not having good thump. But with this price range, this speker is good buy and I am so so with it. Best result achived if you can play your music in JAZZ mode.

I bought this system based on what I read here and in my usual skeptical suspicions thought that what I read was so well written it must have been written by some marketing guy at the manufacturer or at amazon.com.The speaker system arrived today and saw the dimunitive size of the system, my heart sank and thought my skeptical suspiciouns was right. I plugged the system into my Mac G5 and my jaw literally dropped. After assembling my face I wanted to put this system through some compositions I made with my GarageBand music software. Bass, highs, clarity, channels, and volume differances came through amazingly well.I never write reviews, but I'm so impressed. This system replaces my Labtech system, though Labtech was adequate, it falls short of this little giant of a system.

Creative's SBS 350 2.1 speakers are sufficient. They're easy to set up and use, but lack frills that could make them more attractive.Two little speakers and a subwoofer are included. The speakers produce a relatively rich sound, with a low noise floor. There's no hum or hiss when they should be silent. The sub is basic - fairly rich, but nothing to write home about.My last set of Creative speakers was their 4.1 set by Cambridge Sound. That set had a power block with a cord, which I half expected to see here as well, but this time they went with a standard 'wall wart' transformer. It gets the job done, but I find it less convenient.The speakers connect to the sub with a standard 8mm jack. Each speaker connects right at the jack with its own wire, rather than attaching to each other, so this may limit how far away you can put the sub. The volume knob is attached directly to the sub. The audio wire that connects to your computer is also attached to the volume knob. In the Cambridge Sound that I had, there was only one wire coming out of the control knob - having two makes it a bit harder to place.The cords are relatively long, but could use another foot or so to really be convenient. Due to the layout of my computer room, I have my tower on one side of the desk and the subwoofer on the other side of the desk - the cords are long enough (barely) to allow me to put the volume knob next to my monitor.The volume control has an on/off switch as well as a wheel to control the volume. This is nice in that it lets you shut off the speakers without losing your volume setting. Two sticky pads are provided to allow you to stick the volume control to the desk, monitor, or other surface.All said, they get the job done. They sound good, and at the end of the day, all the ease of setup in the world wouldn't matter if they sounded bad. These speakers have yet to disappoint me.

I bought these speakers for my mp3 player, as opposed to the traditional desk setup for a computer. While I was surprised at the power these little speakers had, I often found the bass overpowering the satellite speakers. Obviously, this was due to the fact that the subwoofer was on the ground along with the satellites, but this problem could have been remedied if there was a separate control knob for the bass.For a traditional desktop setup, I don't think you'll find this as problematic, but even so, the bass often felt way too strong.
