This is my first time using a mini photo printer. The Canon Ivy is small and lightweight, truly portable, as they state. It was easy to set up and really easy to use. The Canon Mini Print app is simple and uses bluetooth to connect to the printer. When setting it up for the first time, it took a couple minutes for my phone to find the printer, even with them next to each other, but now, it automatically connects.
The app is great and you can add frames, text and adjust colours.
The big thing I am disappointed about and why I removed two stars, is the colour printed, is not accurate to the photo and the screen. The colours are more vivid on screen and sometimes the printed photo is either darker or duller. I definitely noticed that blues and purples on screen, show up a lot darker on the printed photo. It seems like the zink paper printing technology doesn’t have a full range of colours. My big dog with all of her different shades of brown that show up beautifully on screen (and in person), just printed out mostly black (see photos) and my grey, silver dog, printed out white! It also seems like the printer doesn’t print all the fine details and isn’t as sharp as the photos they show in the Canon ads. But since this is a fun photobooth-like printer, I guess that is to be expected, but I still am disappointed in the colour not being true to screen.
I do like the machine in that because it doesn’t use ink, once the photo comes out of the printer, you don’t have to worry about smudging or anything.
It is a fun gadget to take along to print wallet sized photos on the go. I think the cost $160 is a bit high for it. Based on the quality and how small the photos are, I think $99 would be a more popular price point.

I shopped around for a while deciding on what portable printer to get. I like to journal when I travel, and have always wanted to be able to add photo's to my journal while I am in the process of writing, rather than adding after the fact. This does a great job, the quality of the print is quite good, and it's very easy to use. I am very happy with this purchase.

For my sister's wedding, I decided to gift this cannon IVY to let her print memories on her honeymoon. But I realized that I have to make my gift even more personalized. I bought an album with it, took secret snaps on her bridal shower, the cake tasting journey she shared with me, endless wedding gown fitting until she found the perfect gown, and the tiring but rewarding journey of finding her groom a good wedding gift. After the wedding, she called me during her honeymoon as soon as she opened my gift. We both cried over the phone. What a printer and an album can do to sisters.

At this price point, the Canon Ivy is a printer that delivers. The same price as a Sprocket and design is virtually the same as well. A bit slimmer and lighter than the Sprocket is a selling point. The prints come out a bit darker than the onscreen image where dark colours appear. Navy and shadows (for example) will appear a tinge darker while a bright sunny sky does not. Of course, the ink is in the paper so this could possibly be corrected by using another brand paper with a simple trick. The sleeker design is certainly its main feature. Definitely a contender at this price point.

This mini photo printer is pretty cool as it uses Zink (Zero Ink) printing technology to print pictures entirely without ink! You won’t have to replace ink cartridges with this device as the only continuous cost is the photo paper itself. The printer uses heat to activate and colorize the crystals in the special paper to reproduce the image on your phone!
While it’s not really a replacement for a regular photo printer, the small 2 x 3” prints (business card sized) are fun to create and edit within the app. You can even print an image into a larger size by splitting the photo into sections and combining the edges with the Tiling feature which is unique among the Zink mini printers.

+ Unique Tiling feature so you can combine multiple prints at the edges to form one larger image or collage
+ Very portable due to its compact size and light weight (can fit in back pocket)

The first thing I thought when I took this out of the packaging was "Wow, this is solid!" and it really is. The build quality is excellent; it feels so dense. The smooth corners and small form factor make it nice to handle and easy to slip into a pocket or small bag. I never worry about it getting damaged. It arrived with no charge so I wasn't able to power it on until I had charged it.
Using the Ivy requires the installation of the accompanying app on one's smartphone and the app is clearly designed to be as easy to use as possible. I had my first print out of it within a few minutes. The image quality is surprisingly good for a little pocket printer; it does a fairly good job of matching the colours and contrast on my screen.
I much prefer this concept of having a very small, slim printer that works with a phone rather than the all-in-one polaroid-style camera alternative. Taking the photograph on my phone first allows me to tweak the image to how I like it before printing it. It also allows me to have a digital copy. I didn't think I'd like this as much as I do but I really can't fault it. It's marketed as a tiny, easy to use, take anywhere printer for sharing photos with friends and that's exactly what it is.
It comes supplied with 10 pages to get started and packets of 50 can be purchased separately. It works out a fairly expensive way to share photos but kids just love the idea of being able to give their friends a physical photo or stick it on the fridge without any computer or desktop printer required. I think this is a great device.

I don’t understand how many people gave all this good reviews.
The resolution is really bad and the pictures come with some lines too.
I think is a expensive printer for this bad resolution.
$100 is not a cheap price.
Pd: i download the application too change or adjusted colors and still not very good.
So disappointed.

We purchased this for our daughter for Christmas and I really wasn't sure if it was worth the hype but figured we'd give it a try. Our daughter loves her poloroid and putting the instant on her board in her room so this fell right into her love of immediate printed photos. I was skeptical it would be something she could do at 12 years old by herself, but after reading the easy directions once she loaded the paper and was printing her first picture! We marveled at how it was printing without actual ink ;) and how cool it was that her pictures were actually clear. She immediately went through all 20 sheets and put the pics on her wall. Downside is that the paper isn't cheap and we have ordered several packs at this point. BUT she is loving this little printer. Aside from it actually working, it's super fun to watch! Highly Recommend!

I bought the Canon Ivy over other mini printers because I wanted to print on sticky back paper. So far it works great! The set up was very quick and the printer itself is small and lightweight. You can print while it's charging (I was too impatient to wait until it was fully charged).
Because most reviews for mini printers make a comment about color, I decided to print out a test page to see how the Ivy handles color and resolution.
1) SWOP Colors: print out well.
2) CYMK and RGB: most colors print out well until you get to below 60% saturation.
3) Gradients are less smooth on the printed test page.
3) Grayscale: 5-55% shows up with a lavender cast.
4. Resolution Test: blurry below 1.0 pt and the text overall is not as crisp.
Overall, I think the printer is great for what I wanted: documenting memories and making cute stickers.
Because most reviews for mini printers make a comment about color, I decided to print out a test page to see how the Ivy handles color and resolution.

I got the IVY for my birthday and absolutely LOVE it!
Installing the app was a breeze. I have been playing with the app and the settings on it and everything works just as it should.
I lighten my pictures a little on the app and also use the color tone settings. I had some fun with some of the stickers you can add to photos as well.
When you look at the picture of our Puggle you can see what nice job it does.
Keep in mind, a phone has a back light and a picture never prints out the way your phone shows it.
I think it does a great job printing.
I love making little junk journals and this takes my hobby to a whole nother level.
