(I wanted to post pictures of the car seat in the mangled SUV to prove the stability and quality of this car seat even in the worst of circumstances. However, even knowing everyone involved is safe, it’s an upsetting image and may be too graphic for Amazon.)
Thank you Britax! You’ve earned this loyal customer

Outside of this accident, we really like this car seat. It's easy to install CORRECTLY, and easy to get her in and out. It was a pain to clean after she vomited in it once, but I hand washed the cover, then ran it through a spin cycle in my washer, and that helped it air dry quicker. After that incident, I purchased the liner pad in the hopes of containing future incidents and keeping yucky stuff out of the tiny crevices of the seat. Lucky for us we haven't tested that theory yet.
We have put this seat in a variety of vehicles, including a Mazda 6, Audi A4, Audi Q3, Kia Sorento, VW Passat, Dodge Journey, Honda Odyssey, and more. It has worked great in all of them, but in smaller cars the front passenger seat has to be moved up a lot to accommodate this seat while rear-facing. One hint for getting it out of a car is to unbuckle the seat belt to make the ClickTight seat easier to release.

...Clicktight is a GAME CHANGER.
The seat is good for 10 years, as good a lifespan as anything on the market. It installs SO MUCH EASIER than any other seats we have, with Chicco seats in a close second. The anti-rebound bar for rear-facing replaces a top leather and keeps the backseat more open (no strap to the floor from the top of the seat). I did have to put my weight into the seat a bit to get it to click down, but man....perfectly tight install with NO FIGHTING. No scratches. No bruises. No sweating. No swearing! AMAZING.
The seat itself is well made and the baby is comfortable in it. It's Britax, so you can assume a certain level of quality and this seat is no exception.
Installing with Clicktight took me under 10 minutes. My mother-in-law could do this with no instruction book and it would be a safe install. The recline indicator is very clear, too. If you change seats in and out often, especially with people installing who aren't car seat nerds (grandparents, babysitters), this is the seat for you.
I would still get on Facebook and find one of the car seat groups, and ask about seats with relation to the make/model/year of your vehicle(s) and ages/heights/weights of your child(ren). I also REALLY love that this is a no re-thread seat, so any child small enough to be rear-facing can use it without uninstalling it (just squeeze the handle at the top and slide the headrest up and down to adjust shoulder straps to the right height). Even the crotch strap can be adjusted easily (by opening the click-tight tray, then reinstalling...but reinstalling is a breeze so it's not a big deal).
We have 4 Dionos and yeah, they are narrower overall....but for my money, I love the ease and longevity of this seat. I can't even think of anything I don't like about it.

After doing a LOT of reading and research, I ended up ordering my top 4 options, 3 that were in the $250-300 range: the Britax Boulevard ClickTight Convertible Car Seat, the Chicco NextFit Zip Convertible Car Seat, the Diono Radian 3RXT Convertible Car Seat, and one economical one: Evenflo SureRide DLX Convertible Car Seat ($100). I ended up keeping the Britax though none of the 4 had everything I was hoping for.
I drive a Hyundai Ionic and wanted a convertible car seat that would fit in the middle seat with a chicco keyfit 30 on one side and a passenger on the other with a tolerable level of comfort. I installed each seat I purchased in the middle seat next to the chicco keyfit 30 and my reviews are based mainly off of this position. I hope all my efforts can help others. I was not asked to rate these seats by any of the companies or sellers, my hope is to help others in a similar situation.
Pictures below of the seats are in the following order from left to right: Britax, Chicco, Diono, and Evenflo.
Britax Boulevard:I was very impressed with the ease of fastening with the seatbelt. I didn't even try with the anchors because the seatbelt was so easy and is the recommended method. It kept the seat impressively secure both in the window or the middle seat front or rear facing. A big downside was that the seat covered the buckle for the window-seat belt (in my car) so a third passenger option is impossible unless you purchase an extender which is what I decided to do (you can find them for around $20).
I am unimpressed with the cooler material option which I ordered as there are small circles cut out of the top layer of material and I can imagine it being a disgusting mess in the future. I cannot comment on the actual benefit of the material since keeping the child from over-heating in very hot climates could outweigh the nasty crumb-hoarding that could happen.
It is tricky to understand where the indicator should be on the level when it is rear vs. front facing but once you figure it out, that's not a problem.
The cover removes fairly easily but there are a few separate pieces to be removed which could be nice if only a part needs washing, or a pain if all parts need washing.
The shoulder belt insert moves up and down very easily to adjust with the changing height of the child.
Chicco NextFit Zip:I had high hopes for this one since I have loved the Chicco Keyfit 30 but I was disappointed and expected more with such a high price. The zip-off cover seems very handy. The seat was very difficult to install and I could not get a safe installation in my car with it next to the infant car seat either back or forward facing. The installation back-facing behind the passenger seat with the anchors was easy but I was not able to tighten it enough to be safe and forward facing I could not figure out a way to transfer the anchors to the back for use at the back (they are also only approved for up to 40lbs) and it was challenging to get the seatbelt tight enough for a stable installation.
The pro is that I was able to fasten the passenger seatbelt when the seat was positioned in the middle of the backseat. It felt cosier than the Britax Boulevard but because of the style of the base and fastener connections, it kept as path open for fastening.
It is easy to change the recline, lever releases cleanly. Clear instructions for leveling based on rear or front facing.
Diono Radian 3RXT Convertible Car Seat
I bought this one even though Consumer Reports did not give it a very good rating (their reviews at the time of my research were based largely off of ease of correct installation since that is such an important factor in safety). They advertise as being able to sit 3 across and this is definitely a great option if that is a main priority. It is very heavy, can fold up a bit for easier storage, and definitely has a lower profile as is clear in the photos. It can take up a bit more space when rear facing so the passengers in the front would likely lose more leg space as compared to these other seats. I really wanted to like this one enough to keep it, but the cover is much more complex to remove and though you can probably get a good installation, it just takes a lot more effort and time. If I ever had to put 3 across in my car, I would buy this as a third seat. With three across (of the brands mentioned above) though, it would be very challenging to get it installed and for the child to use the in-car seatbelt unless you get an extension.
Evenflo SureRide DLX Convertible Car Seat
This carseat hardly compares to the others. It is much simpler, but that is what I would expect for one with a much more reasonable price. The biggest pro is the weight which is about a third of the others. My sister-in-law has 5 children, owns this seat, and loves it. Her favorite aspect is the ease of cleaning the cover and this one definitely is the easiest compared to the other 3. There is nothing fancy about installation and with it in the middle next to the chicco keyfit 30, like the chicco nextfit and diono, it is very challenging to get the seat secure. The width dimensions are similar to the Chicco NextFit and Britax thought the Britax is about 1/2 and inch smaller than both. I will likely buy one of these in the future to use as a travel seat when flying due to it's light-weight and to prevent damage to my nicer every-day use car seat.

First what I like:
- I feel like my kid is safe. This thing is a tank! Lifting it is a serious chore which makes me feel more secure about it if I were to get into an accident versus something flimsy and plastic.
- It's super easy to install, both with the seatbelt and the LATCH clips because of the click connect. I can get it in my car in just a couple of minutes with no movement whatsoever. I also like the ball angle indicator on both sides vs other seats where you have to eyeball whether a line on a sticker is parallel to the ground.
- My kid is comfortable. She regularly falls asleep in here. The straps don't leave red marks on her neck and the padding is super cushy.
- It's super easy to adjust for other people's kids and as she grows - just pull up on the red handle on top. Done.
- The cow print is adorable and doesn't show stains easily - even though it is partially white.
The room for improvement:
-Uninstalling. Getting that thing out of the car is a workout. The wonderful easily to install twisty button is just as difficult to untwist. I would personally rather just tension the hell out of the seatbelt or latch straps than deal with that thing. Also, they picked out the latch straps that with the cheapest connection points ever which means jamming your fingers in the car seat to try and get the stupid thing unclipped. I've gone back to using the seatbelt installation so I don't have to deal with them.
- The cover isn't machine wash/dryable and doesn't come off super easily in one piece. Hasn't been a huge problem for us, but if you had a puker, it would be a real pain.
All around a great carseat from a trusted brand with high height and weight safety limits that could use a couple of minor tweaks.

Also, super easy to install in the event you have to switch cars to your partner's or a grandparent - because you know if it ISN'T easy, you'll hear about it for life.
My one dislike is the lack of built in cup holders. I'll deal, but I'm just saying - do you know how many times a person has to reach back and grab a dropped cup/snack/toy? Even with the detachable cup holder, they'll figure it out and toss it aside. My dislike isn't enough to remove a star from my rating, because this is about SAFETY and not this Mom's convenience in keeping kids entertained with food.

To Britax, if you read these reviews: Personally I think you went cheap on the design by not incorporating the LATCH buckles permanently on the seat and focused your design around the ClickTight system and use of car seat-belt shoulder straps. You could have easily made the stowage compartment for the LATCH strap and clips into a stowage area for a permanently attached (and non ClickTight) buckles. This would have greatly aided parents in installing and removing the car seat using the no-brainer LATCH system.

This seat is amazing!
Our little fella is now 16 months and 28+ pounds. He rides well in this seat with no complaints of being uncomfortable. He isn’t sweaty when we take him out of the seat.
He did get sick one day while I was driving with him alone (super scary!).
The seat was easy to clean and looks AND SMELLS amazing even after a huge mess!
I really like the fact that it is easy to install. When he is super tired I am able to adjust in the recline (while staying within the guidelines) to something a little more comfortable for snoozing.
Love this seat! Worth every penny!
Just wish it came with the anti rebound bar...
Seems crazy to spend another $55 - especially during a pandemic when we don’t travel often or far.
Bottom line - BUY THIS SEAT!
UPDATE
We have had the replacement seat for a little over three months.
Return of the original seat was super easy via Kohl’s. The new seat came on time and in perfect condition.
Our chunk lives this seat!
He is super comfortable.
It is amazingly easy to install via the lower anchors.
Our little one was always sweaty in the infant seat but that hasn’t been a problem in this one.
He can see out well so he is happy - maybe he doesn’t feel trapped?
Getting him in and out of the seat is easy since the straps stay off to the sides well and the center buckle stays forward so I’m not fumbling for it and struggling with a mobile baby at the same time.
If we had the extra funds I would purchase a second one for our Subaru!
Moving this seat around is rather cumbersome as it is heavy and awkward for me to move (I’m 5’1” and 110 pounds). The thought of carrying it inside the house makes me cringe but it is a stationary seat so that isn’t a problem.
It feels sturdy. When I put him in the seat I know he is safe. I love the padding at the head and couldn’t ask for more from a seat!
Other than the straps pull uneven if you yank them from one side I haven’t had any trouble with this seat. Easy fix - pull both straps as it is a Y type system. It’s easy to fix by pulling the shorter strap to adjust until even.
Overall - we love this seat! TOTALLY worth the investment!
**Amazon delivered this seat on time and undamaged from shipment.
We ordered this seat for our nearly 22lb 6 month old as (we gave out Chicco KeyFit to our daughter) our son was uncomfortable in his infant seat on rides lasting longer than 15 minutes. He is just too wide to be comfortable in the Chicco KeyFit.
**We loved the KeyFit and would have kept him in it until he reached the maximum height and weight if he wasn’t a short stocky little chunk!
I was so excited for this seat to arrive and have a comfortable seat for a little guy. Thank goodness I noticed this screw before installing this seat in my car!! I have no idea if a screw is missing from the inside components of the seat or if an extra one somehow managed to get trapped during manufacturing...
I have Amazon sending a replacement that will arrive Monday (this seat came Saturday evening - it now 8am Sunday morning). I am now trapped at home until the new seat arrives. Amazon said they couldn’t get a replacement to me today.
I will update once we get the replacement. After all of this I hope the seat lives up to the hype.

The only downside is that since it is built like a tank and really made to stay in the car, you lose the portability of an infant seat. I can't imagine waking a newborn up every time you wanted to run in an out of a store to put them in something else. My son is just big enough he can start sitting in the front of a shopping cart, but for the first few weeks I had this I was transferring him into another carrier to go into stores and that was a big pain.
Overall I love this car seat and would highly recommend it for babies who are old enough to sit on their own!

My husband was able to install it securely but there was nothing easy about it. I’m terrified for the first time we need to take it out. The seat has been great besides this the installation.
Super disappointed in this product so far in terms of installation. Britax markets this car seat as easy to install and secure. So far I’ve tried the LATCH system and the seat belt method and it’s still ridiculously loose. I’ve read the manual, moved it seats, tried numerous times. At this point I’m letting my husband have a go at it and hoping it’s user error. Otherwise we will be returning it.

This is a great car seat, and I am very picky, so coming from me trust me this is great
