Not waterproof
Not waterproof. I can't verify this as a genuine Berghaus product. I have brought this make for many years. Jackets, leggings and rucksacks for family and myself. It has always been a highly reliable, technical make for longevity and excellent performance; especially in heavy rain. For sailing, walking and standing at a coastal bus stop on the way to work. I have jackets and rucksacks that are still reliable in heavy rain after many years of service that have been covered in mud, salty water, unscathed after falling off of push bikes and frequently washed as directed by berghaus. But this rucksack I brought for work days failed the first time it has been used on a rainy day. My books, uniform and laptop were wet. I am really disappointed. I shall not trust I'm buying the genuine product online again.

Well-made, spacious, and comfortable.
While listed as a rucksack, this is more of a day-to-day backpack but with enough about it to last a time in the wild.
First impressions are good with a very minimal design, compact profile, and no obvious quality of manufacturing issues. There is an abundance of space with a large front pouch, two side pockets and a multi-section interior. You can fit a great amount of stuff in, and there is plenty of scope, thanks to the various buckles and straps. to 'let it out' and allow more stuff to fit inside.
There is also a 'hole' leading to the rear section through which you can fit a drinking tube or cables/headphones. A water bladder would fit nicely in this space and there is a thick piece of material separating this section from the others meaning water/condensation shouldn't really be an issue.
The material is thick and durable, the straps, buckles, and zips are of high quality and so you can be assured of the usual Berghaus levels of durability.
When worn it is very comfortable with adjustable straps that don't dig in or move and chafe.
For the £67/£68 mark it's a top-quality bag and as mentioned would serve you well on the commute, light hiking, or even to store photography gear when you're out.

Durable rucksack that gets used every day!
I use this rucksack all the time when going out for walks, going shopping and going to work. I put my laptop/tablet in the main compartment's back section, and use the rest for other things such as shopping, lunchboxes or clothes (Extra jumper or coat, and things like gloves.). There is a large pocket on the front that I don't really use. The small pouch pocket (With RF protection) is used for things like headphones/wallets and cameras.
I find it extremely comfortable to use and the zips all have long hands on them, making it easy to unzip. I pretty much use it every day when taking my PC to work and also if I do any lunchtime shopping. It also gets used all the time at the weekend when I am out, and has been used for a camping trip to carry clothes around in.
Can't fault it - it's spacious enough for my needs, and has handled a fair amount of weight without showing any wear or tear. Build quality is excellent.

Lots of space
A good quality bag with lots of space. The many pockets on this bag make it very versatile. I can put/sort different things into different pockets and easily be found. The design and shape is in such a way that its molded to suit the body figure. It doesn't look like a schoolbag when worn. The shoulder straps are very cushiony and carrying heavy loads is very easy without much stress on the shoulder. Berghaus products are always of good quality. This bag definitely shows that quality and durability.

It's ok - zips hard to close
A navy blue backpack for everyday or hiking use. It would appear to be waterproof as all the zips are hidden and have a rubbery seal around them. This is also the major downside of the bag as the zips are quite difficult/stiff to open.
There's a top RFID protected pocket for bank cards / your phone and a large central pocket with an area for a laptop/tablet and a little hook for your keys. There's also two side pockets for drinks bottles. The shoulder pads and back could be better padded. Good enough for everyday use and short hikes.

Excellent day-sack or work bag
This can be used as a day-sack for hiking, or it could also be used for work or college as it has sections including a laptop pocket that are suitable for office or academic 'luggage.
It is extremely comfortable, even when fully loaded. It has a rigid back, which prevents you from feeling every bump in the contents. It is very lightweight.
It is water-resistant but not waterproof and it does not have a waterproof cover. You would need to buy a separate waterproof cover if this is important to you (which would be likely if you were carrying a laptop in it).
It has an RFID lining, which would protect your bank cards from being maliciously swiped, although personally I do not believe that is as big a problem as it is sometimes made out to be.
This is my first experience of Berghaus and I am impressed by the build quality.

A handy city pack with enough storage inside and out to last for a day out in the open.
First thoughts:
Pros
Enough width to add a couple of camera cubes so I can pack a DSLR, drone kit, laptop and still have room to spare in the main compartment.
Hybrid city/day pack.
Plenty of loops on the exterior for connecting modular packs or attaching bungee cords for securing items to the outside.
Water resistant pocket and zip track.
Cons
Missing a self contained internal pouch for a hydration system.
No rain cover or bag-wide waterproofing.
A great little city pack hybrid that’s more than capable of lasting a day out in the wilderness
on a trek.
There’s the usual slots and laptop compartment layout on the inside that you’d expect from a backpack, but the outside is more of a hiking day pack with useful storage and equipment anchors.
There’s room for flasks, water bottles, tripods, walking poles and modular pouches which makes this little 30L backpack quite versatile.
Details and things to note (See pictures):

As there’s no hip belt it will bounce around a bit if I run with heavy items in it, but all in all, this is a solid 30L entry from Berghaus and I’d happily recommend it to those that need to transport kit and keep the overall package size fairly small.

Strong and sturdy bag
Have taken it for a football trip, to a trip in London and to college. It’s quite multipurpose and fits any situation at least from my point of view. My biggest like about it is that it’s very strong. Has many pockets. No regrets here.

Smart, discreet and spacious enough for basics like laptop, notebook, change of clothes etc.
I love how this back pack is very discreet - normally back packs of this nature have lots of garish details and logos but this one is just black, all over! It's very well constructed too, all the zips and straps feel super sturdy and built to last. I've not yet had a chance to test out the RFID skimming blocking pocket but it seems like a great feature in principle. I was concerned that the top zip for the RFID lined pocket would be easily accessible to pick-pockets but the zip is very well concealed - basically you'd know if someone was trying to get into it behind your back.
Inside it has a separate laptop section so I would probably save this more for when I'm heading into meetings in city with my laptop and gadgets (something I've not done for a while but once I do again this will be perfect). I probably wouldn't use it for hikes/walks, although it is very comfortable and does have water bottle pockets at the sides so is perfectly suited to an active pursuit, it's actually way too smart to use just for rambling.

This is exactly what I needed to hold my personal belongings(laptop/tablet/wallet) and my son’s toys/wipes/snacks etc when travelling. This is an expensive backpack but I think it worths the investment because its practical and well made.

Berghaus are still going strong.
Now Berghaus is a brand I trust after using their products for many years both at home and overseas. I've completed desert endurance events and hiked or cycled across continents with my trusty Berghaus rucksack so I was eager to see how this Exurbian 30 litre model compared.
The first thing that struck me was how light and stealthy the Exurbian is. It's nicely designed and has a modern look that is attractive yet understated, which I am a fan of. With its firm/rigid shell padded rear panel, it feels sturdy considering it doesn't weigh a great deal and it retains the structure and shape of the bag overall. There are enough pockets for my needs and the zips are crisp and reliable and offered strong resistance to prolonged and heavy rain during a visit to the Peak District over the weekend.
It's comfortable throughout the day and the straps offer good support and adjustability. It feels well anchored and about as forgiving on the lower back as it can be over a long day out over varying terrain.
For me, it's ideal for a solid day walking and hiking, and I'm happy that Berghaus are still producing products of the quality and performance I've come to expect. I'd happily recommend it and If it lasts as long as my old faithful Berghaus touring rucksack, it'll quite possibly be my last..

Quality and comfort
These bags are fab, they are much more superior in quality than most other makes of rucksacks. I always choose this brand as they are well made and reliable and i havent ever been disappointed with this brand. This rucksack is 30l capacity so has lots of space. It’s super comfortable when carrying larger/heavier items which really makes a difference especially when hiking long distances. It has a stiffened back which not only stops items digging through into your back it also gives extra rigidity that provides extra comfort. It has RFID lining that stops credit cards being scanned, which is great if you want to keep your wallet inside. The bag is made from good quality recycled fabrics and is tough. Theres a handy fastening clip at the front to pull the 2 straps together which is great when you have a larger heavier load, and talking of handy - theres even a water bottle pouch as well so when you’re hiking or distance waking and in need of refreshment its there to hand. I just love these berghaus bags and would never have any other make !

Expensive but top quality
It's very good quality, all the zips, lining and materials are well made and finished. It has a front pouch which is protective against RFID scanning, in truth the pouch could have been tucked away or integrated as it does ap loose at the top but it doesn't detract from the bag.
It's one colour throughout except for the RFID pouch and all the zips have the inner water protection, they are a bit stiff to open and close but worth it for the safety of the contents.
It has a 30l capacity which easily fits in my Chromebook or laptop and it's padded enough to keep it safe from knocks, it's also large enough to hold drinks and snacks for 6 of us when out and about, some good strong side pockets for drinks or containers with tabs to help open the elesticated pouch. It's all well thought out.
It's comfortable to wear, a no nonsense backpack which feels like it will last a long time. It is much more expensive than a lot of bags so it's definitely not a kids boot bag.

very good quality backpack
I was impressed how light and nicely designed is this backpack depside being big with lots of compartments and zips also looking modern .Very firm but not rigid padded rear panel also looks well made and sturdy , love the fact that has lots of pockets for all the bits I need when going out and about, I can pack my stuff and my little girl stuff with no problem , also I like the adjustable straps gives good support .For me this is the ideal backpack serving to lots of purposes , definitely recommend

Not the biggest but does the job
Berghaus have always had a reputation as a provider of good quality equipment for camping, hiking etc and this rucksack does not buck that trend. In terms of quality, it's great - it seems to be waterproof and offers protection for smaller items for day walking, or even for commuting I suppose, although it might be a bit large for that purpose.
The back of the pack is rigid and feels comfortable once it's on, being well balanced and easy to manoeuvre when in place.
However, it's not huge at a 30 litre capacity and isn't really big enough for longer walks which involve overnight camping. Overall, though, for its intended purpose, it's great and I am happy to give a well deserved five stars.

Super stylish design - Proper RFID lining - Good storage layout
This is a good hybrid backpack that can be used for every day school or work commitments and then switch and be used as a decent day hiking bag. In terms of material it seems extremely well-made and the quality of the zips suggest a good level of waterproofing. There is plenty of adjustability in both the shoulder straps on the central core connection meaning you can take a decent load and ensure it is evenly distributed and comfortable.
The interior elements of the bag are also really well designed to ensure that you can make the most use of space. Dividers make it really easy to keep stuff like laptops and tablets out the way whilst having plenty of stuff space for things like coats and food et cetera. Exterior pocket is ideal to keep a water bottle in when walking as well so it is a really well thought through design.

Robust and strong
One of the best rucj sacks I have owned. This is very well made, the stitching and materials used are super strong and durable. I like the shape and design, it contours with the back better which makes it more comfortable to wear even when it is full of heavy stuff due to its stiffened structure.

Just so you are aware, the backpack is still too large for a school child so would not be suitable as a school bag, it is more for teens and adults.

Just so you are aware, the backpack is still too large for a school child so would not be suitable as a school bag, it is more for teens and adults.
The rucsack is fantastic, I don't have any negative to say. The quality justifys the price and it is one that will last years to come.

Just what I needed.
I am a firm believer in being prepared for all eventualities. I wanted a nice sturdy backpack like this to fill with things I might need in a survival situation. What I love about this bag is that it's compact and yet has enough varied compartments which are perfect to organise my supplies into. Of course if you just want the bag for school or work it will be great for that too.
Looking at the stitching and the zips etc I can't find any fault which to me is a mark towards the excellent quality of the bag.

Good backpack
I've been using Berghaus products for years and this is another great product.
Overall the quality is great and it feels durable even if it's so light.
The space is well organised and I can fit an impressive amount of stuff in the backpack.
It's comfortable to wear all day if it isn't too loaded.

Plenty of storage space and pouches
This bag is very well made with plenty of pouches throughout it for storing bits and pieces. Two bottle holders on either side of the bag. This comfortably holds my Lenovo t470 which is a decent size along with mouse power supply and various other bits and bobs. The straps on the bag are comfortable and a chest strap is fitted to keep the shoulder straps in place if your cycling or running. The quality is just what I’d expect from Berghaus and is excellent.

Perfect size for my needs. Means hands-free as I can sling on my back rather than a case.
Takes my laptop and everything else I need. Trusted brand.
Loving the feeling of security with the RFID lining.
Comfortable to wear. Durable material that should survive many journeys. Would have loved this in my previous time as nature photographer - out and about in the countryside. Will now use for outings with grandchildren.

It’s Berghaus so its 5 stars
I requested the black back pack. It is darker than my photographs suggest.
It is made from very lightweight materials but well stitched and with nylon zips.
30l it’s not too big, not like one of those large hiking packs so go I’d for college/school/ work etc.
Inside it is laid out like a laptop bag with partitions and pockets.
The outside has a pair of comfortable shoulder straps. There are straps and toggles I haven’t fathomed yet and handy bottle holsters.
Disappointingly the Berghaus logo is black on black so in hindsight I wish I’d chosen the blue one.

Не водонепроницаемый. Я не могу подтвердить, что это подлинный продукт Berghaus. Я пользуюсь этой маркой уже много лет. Куртки, леггинсы и рюкзаки для семьи и для себя. Это всегда было высоконадежное техническое решение, обеспечивающее долговечность и отличные эксплуатационные характеристики, особенно в условиях сильного дождя. Для плавания под парусом, прогулок пешком и стояния на прибрежной автобусной остановке по дороге на работу. У меня есть куртки и рюкзаки, которые по-прежнему надежны в сильный дождь после многих лет эксплуатации, которые были покрыты грязью, соленой водой, невредимы после падений с велотренажеров и часто стирались по указанию berghaus. Но этот рюкзак, который я взял с собой на работу, вышел из строя в первый раз, когда его использовали в дождливый день. Мои книги, униформа и ноутбук были мокрыми. Я действительно разочарован. Я больше не буду верить, что покупаю подлинный товар онлайн.

Брендовая сумка-рюкзак Berghaus объемом 25 литров
Я заказала этот товар, так как он приглянулся мне онлайн, но когда он прибыл, я обнаружила, что он слишком мужественный и слишком большой, особенно учитывая, что я маленькая леди ростом 5 футов 2 дюйма. Цвет был красивым и компактным, но слишком большим для меня.
