I own an older BenQ and gave them purchase preference because when it broke they fixed it hassle-free (it's still running).

This would be 5 star (in the budget bracket) were it not for the zoom that doesn't. It changes size marginally and throws the focus way off so as to be almost useless. If zoom is important look elsewhere. Otherwise I'm satisfied. Some of the "features" seem useless (like templates) but I like the remote (for its class), brightness, image, etc. I really like the lamp levels and life and the ecoBlank, though that would be better without the words and save-the-world message on screen blank. I haven't used the quick re-start feature or 3D.

To date I've used it maybe 10 times for slide / outline presentation and 1 group movie.

Great picture, crystal clear. Just can't figure out how to make the picture bigger or correct the angles on it. It is a quality projector though.

It fits my present application well, Home Theater. It doesn't have the features of the higher priced Canon, but I don't need them any more and I really liked the price of the BenQ. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because it doesn't have a DVI connection which would have made installation easier. If you are replacing a high resolution unit with the BenQ you may have to run a new cable and obtain a DVI to VGA active converter (Startech.com DVI2VGAE $48) as I did. DO NOT use a DVI/VGA cable adapter. It is a good projector for a basic home theater.

Very good projector. Set up easily. Bright enough for the classroom. Works well with the Smart board.

It's been great so far! This has been our first projector. We are enjoying it for movies and gaming. The picture is good and we can watch it even in a lighted room.
Two features that I wish it had are sound that comes from the projector and wi-fi capabilities.

After trying another brand for one week, purchased and installed this BenQ unit. It is a basic unit, but for the price it is a great value. We are using it as a prompter for our Church's worship team and they are very impressed with it's performance so far.

My church in Nigeria needed a budget Projector, I wasnt sure if it was bright enough! Praise God, its perfect, they love it. A compact projector easy to install and is good for a moderately sized hall
