My stylist tells me that Babyliss is a professional-level dryer made by the same company as Conair. After my last Conair gave up the ghost, I bought this model; however, it doesn't perform much better than some of the less expensive Conairs I've owned in the past. That's not so bad, but whoever designed this dryer didn't follow any principles of ergonomics. It's too easy to press on the switches accidentally while drying my hair. As a result, I'm concentrating as much on how I'm grasping the thing as I do on styling my hair. Have to hold it low on the handle to avoid pressing the switches, so that the weight is not well balanced in my hand. I have pretty big hands, so I imagine it would be even worse for someone with normal smalllwomen's hands. I won't be buying another Babyliss without trying it in person or reading a positive review about this aspect of the device.

This is a great hair dryer. It gets very hot (which I like) and dries my hair well. I have thick, somewhat wavy hair. I bought it July 2016 and the fan just stopped working this week (Oct 2019). I guess that’s pretty good considering I use it every day. I’m most disappointed that I need to buy another one and it’s not on sale this time.

I bought my first Babylis Pro blowdryer after running into a co-worker gushed about it so much that I couldn't help but get one. I can't exactly put my finger on why, but this blowdryer is nothing short of a miracle. Somehow, whether it's the temperature, or how the air comes out, my hair ALWAYS comes out as if I've had a blowout. And I'm not someone who likes to spend a lot of time on my hair. After a few minutes, my hair comes out perfectly and it lasts for 2 days. Also, I have gotten so many comments from people who say my hair looks great when I've used it.

One other story - I had gotten flooded in Hurricane Sandy and my blowdryer shorted out. So in the mad rush to replenish everything in my life, I bought a more expensive Conair dryer from Bed Bath and Beyond, thinking that it would be just as good. Well, after 2 months, with many overly frizzy days, dryed out hair days and overall "blah" hair days, I decided to go back to this dryer. And voila! My hair was coming out great again.

If you're in the market for a blowdryer, this is hands down, the best I've ever used.

I bought this hair dryer in mid January 2014. I decided that I would treat myself to a better dryer then what I usually buy. It was an investment, I thought. Well a few days ago, end of March 2014, I decided to remove the back where the filter screen is to clean off the "fuzz." This was one of the features advertised that I was interested in as most of the dryer I have owned are hard to clean the lint and hair off of. There are three plastic clips that fit into slots where the filter attaches to the dryer. Two of the three broke off! What the heck! I now have the filter screen on the back of dryer with one clip and scotch tape to hold it on! For this price, I expected better. I have bought drug store blow dryers for $10-20, and they have lasted for 5 years or more. I shouldn't have to tape my filter screen on, for what I paid for this dryer and it being only around 2 months old. I love the dryer, but it is the fact that the material has not even held up to normal use. I am going to email the manufacturer and see if they stand behind their products. If they do, I will update this review. If they don't, well don't waste you money. I will update!

Meh, not my favorite and surely not worth the cost. I had the orange Conair prior to this, the "as seen on TV" one and liked it much better. Problem with that was it was my second in 3 years due to first motor went out after a year and this one just stopped working 2nd year. Thought I'd research and find "better" but not so.
I've seen the Conair in the drug store for around $39, I may just go back and buy that one, like it quite a bit better. I see no smoothness benefits with this one as I did with that one. I'd swear by the Ionic functionality in that one but not this, definitely not worth what I paid. Guess I learned my lesson, will never pay $80+ for a hair appliance again. More is not always better....

I really like this hairdryer! Keep in mind that I've only been using it for a few days, but I wanted to write this review since I was initially on the fence. Compared to cheaper hairdryers like Conair, this REALLY is much lighter and a bit smaller than you might imagine from the picture. The air stream doesn't feel overly powerful, which disappointed me at first because I thought it would take forever to dry my long, fine hair. However, my drying time is probably shortened by at least 1/3 using this AND my hair looks soft and shiny! If the only thing you're looking for is volume from heat, then I wouldn't get this - that said, I get decent volume for my fine hair and didn't notice my hair noticeably flatter. Overall, a great product that I'd recommend if you want a quiet, effective, and shine-making dryer!

LOVE THIS HAIRDRYER! It's SUPER quiet in comparison to any other hairdryer I've owned or tried out. Really light weight, dries my hair relatively quickly. Have not experienced problems with the attachment as others have mentioned in the past. There is a "warm, cool, hot" button and I love the warm setting - dries my hair without burning my scalp. The "hot" setting is great for just generally drying your hair quickly and then switching to another setting for styling. There is also the "cool" setting which is used in combination with the push-down cool button and that's a great setting, as well. The handle is comfortable to hold and I don't find myself accidently switching settings as I have done in the past with other dryers. I'll definitely be looking to purchase the travel size dryer, as well. Just for comparison sake - I had a $120 Chi dryer before this one and it lasted only 18 months and I wasn't nearly as happy as I am with this one.

I highly recommend this product.

I read online about this brand of blow dryer.

I love it. My hair doesn’t feel brittle after drying.
The heating is controlled.
Should have bought a new one long ago.

The dryer is wonderful. It's far quieter than something you might pick up in a department store. In fact the sound that it creates is so much lower that it leaves you with the impression that it's not blowing as hard as cheaper dryers. It's actually doing quite a job. It's very nice, but it should be. Certainly at this price point.

I've had this hairdryer for about a month now and I still love it. My previous hairdryer (a Conair) was way overdue to be replaced, because it started making my hair really dry and frizzy (not to mention it also started making some really scary noises, lol). I immediately noticed a difference in my hair after the first couple days of using the Babyliss. This dryer is fairly lightweight and about average loudness (doesn't bother me at all). Some reviewers complained about the placement of the buttons; in my opinion, after a couple days of getting used to them (I mean, hello, it's a completely new and different dryer than what I've been using for the past 5 years), I found that I actually really like how they're placed! It makes it so easy to switch between settings while drying. It has a cool shot button, three heat settings and a high/low setting. Overall, I'm completely satisfied with my purchase and I really hope spending a few extra bucks will be worth it in the long run (I'll try to remember to update my review if anything changes)!

I have had long, extememly baby fine hair. I have been blow drying my hair forever. I've never thought about a hair dryer until recently. I got sick of breaking a sweat while trying to blow dry my hair. With a "regular" store brand dryer it would take me a minimum of 15 to 20 miunutes to get my hair dry and then I would have frizz, tangles and static. My hair would have kinks and weird bends too (I have naturally striaght hair). I decided to research "higher end" hair dryers and decided on The Babylis Pro 3000 dryer. It took 5 minutes to dry my hair. It came out perfeclty straight along with static and frizz free too! It feels wonderful. I always pay for quality. I don't know why I waited so long to make this purchase! This one is really worth the extra $$!

UPDATE (January 2019): I have had this hair dryer now for over 4 years and I still love it just as much as I did when I first got it! It has maintained it's power throughout the years and it still dries my hair quickly. I expect this thing to last many many more years to come. It has really help up very well, despite my initial concerns due to some reviews saying that it loses power very quickly. Let my review be a testament that this dryer -- at least the one I got -- definitely has longevity in it!

(July 2015 Review) Wonderful blow dryer! I was a little hesitant to but this because of all of the reviews saying that it stopped working as well after a while. I am happy to report that I have been using this blow dryer about 5 times a week for the past 7 months and it still works really well!

Absolutely the best dryer I have ever had. It dries my hair so fast! , about 20 minutes from about 60 minutes and frizz free!!! I have naturally curly hair that can get real frizzy . After using this hairdryer my hair does not frizz, even after going outside!! I have had hairdryers were I spent a lot of money - T3 , super salono and they never got rid of the frizz. I became very unhappy with those dryers and thought all dryers were going to be the same... It was frustrating since those dryers advertise that they get rid of frizz and makes your hair smooth.. and they DON'T . This lightweight BaBybliss DOES get rid of frizz and makes your hair smooth!! You can't beat the price either of this Babyliss dryer.

A stylist I had used this brand, I was excited to get one. But after a couple of months using it, the vent cover wouldn't stay on well, it kept falling off and there were only three prongs to attach it, which two broke because of falling off. The switch placement isn't ideal because I bump them accidentally while blow drying. The flow and power is decent. But I haven't found a way to replace the vent cover. Sadly I'm trying a different brand.

This is a good hairdryer with a couple of issues. The diffuser has never worked properly and pops off easily. I eventually have given up trying to use it because it's so frustrating. The back filter cover is also cheap plastic with tiny prongs to hold it into place. They've all snapped off so I have tape holding the filter in place which isn't ideal. As others have mentioned, the paint color does chip too but that doesn't effect how the hairdryer functions. This hairdryer is powerful though which is why I like it. I have fine hair (but a lot of it) and it takes forever to dry so this is a good option if you have similar hair.

I spent a little more on my hairdryer this time because I got tired of the lower end ($20-30) dryers going belly up after a year of use. And here I am with the Babyliss Pro.

I'm about a month into my use and I really like this hair dryer. I have short-medium hair that is color-treated and I need a good hairdryer to not overdry my hair but still help me style it.

There are a number of drying options on the handle. The cord is a good length also...doesn't leave you chained to the place you plug it in for power.

So far it doesn't overheat and it does a great job. I hope this one lasts longer than a year!!!!

This blow dryer is really great. It does seems to work much faster than the blow dryers I've grown accustomed to from the drug stores: ConAir, Revlong, etc. I have thick Asian hair that takes forever to dry. With this, it dries in 10 minutes. I love that it doesn't scald, even on the high/hot setting like the over the counter hair dryers do. It's also really quiet. Confirming everything I thought about it, my teenage daughter asked me where I got the new hair dryer from the first day she tried it. Without making it big deal about it, I asked her what was so special and she said it was "fabulous" because it dried her hair so quickly. Her hair is even thicker and longer than mine.

What I don't like is where they put the button controls. I thought that knowing it (from reading the other reviews,) I would be aware and less likely to fall for the same mistake. Nope. Still fell for it. It's unavoidable, based on where they put the switch controls on the handle. Aside from that, this is a the perfect hair dryer.

This blow dryer is amazing. It's easily the most expensive blow dryer I've ever purchased in my life... that being said this thing has shaved 7 minutes off my blowdry time. I have thin hair, but a lot of it. Its half way down my back. If I don't blowdry and straighten it, its a frizzy limp mess. I can get away with blowdrying ONLY with this awesome dryer.... it's that good. I can't believe a hair dryer has made such a difference. ... I truly thought they were all created equal. Definitely worth every dollar. I deducted a star because the nozzle that attaches doesn't really stay attached very well and the powdercoat paint on the body of the dryer itself chips really easily. Doesn't affect performance but for this price it shouldn't look like an older beat up blow dryer.

Those historically have a useful life of just a few years, then they just die. Not this one! And get this, last month, the plastic vent guard on the back of the dryer that twists off had broken. I wrote to the manufacturer via their webiste customer service and received an email back asking for some numbers off the dryer, and they mailed me a replacement for free! This truly is a quality product, and you will get your money's worth by a lengthy life. Just take care of it, and don't keep dropping it in your bathroom drawer like I do. Place it down gently so you don't break the plastic guard thing :-) hee hee

I've been using Walmart specials for dryers for all my life thinking all hair dryers were the same. After the last one died, I purchased Costco special and it was a disaster - hair got frizzy, and the dryer was heavy. My wife and kids complained that dryer took too long and they needed to take a break inbetween to give their arm a rest from the weight. So, I returned the dryer and began my search on the internet. My criteria was light weight, ionized, that dries hair quickly, and finally came upon this Babylis Pro. I don't know what other highend dryer feels like, but this certainly seems to fit the bill. Very light, dependable (had it for about a year and still performs like new) and drys your hair very quickly. And the price was pretty reasonable.
