Without any exaggeration, I can say this blow dryer is lifechanging. I have very fine, somewhat wavy hair, so there is no weight to it when straight to keep it from becoming an awful, poofy, frizzy, dull mess. For as long as I've used dryers I've used some crappy Revlon one from Walgreens, and whenever it went out I'd just go back and buy a new one. But blowdrying alone was never enough. I also had to flatiron it to try to get it to be smooth and shiny, but that removed every bit of volume, but at lease my hair was sleek and pretty, right?

I had no idea it could get better. Oh, it can.

Today I was so excited to try this blow dryer out that I took an early afternoon shower just to use it. I experimented with the temperatures before using it on my hair - the hot is HOT and the warm felt hotter than my old blow dryer, so I went with that on high speed. I usually have to wait for my hair to mostly dry before using my other blow dryer lest I'm standing there for an hour, but with this one I went to it with still really really damp hair. The thing is just amazing. It dried REALLY quickly and left my hair so smooth and shiny yet still with awesome, gorgeous volume. Once I did my whole head with high speed, I turned it off and grabbed sections I wanted to tweak the ends of, and I used low speed (still warm heat, not high) on those sections individually. The results are so soft and bouncy and perfect, I stood in front of the mirror for ten minutes playing with it. I'm in love.

Guys, gals, anyone with hair - if your results are anything like mine, buy this blow dryer. It took me a lot of time to decide to drop the money on this, but I regret nothing. Totally worth it.

The time it takes to do my hair is now cut in half. I don't have to worry about burning myself on the flatiron. Also, I won't fry the heck out of my hair with the flatiron anymore, which has necessitated so many repairing products over the years.

Some other reviewers have mentioned that, due to the placement of the cool/warm/hot and off/low/high switches, they have changed settings mid-blow dry. I could see how this happened, and I did it once too. All I did to adjust was point my thumb up the handle of the blow dryer instead of curling it around and problem solved.

Seriously. Buy this blow dryer. I can't wait to do my hair again tomorrow.

Guys, I'm writing this 7 years after purchasing this blow dryer. It still works! The red color is rubbing off, and it looks like it's been tossed around in a suitcase a couple of times, but overall this ruby gem is still going strong. I recommend it if you're looking for a work horse. Not small nor particularly lightweight but a hardy appliance all the same.

This is seriously the best hairdryer I've ever had. It's just the right size and it has so much power but is still way quieter than the other hairdryers I've tried. It blows with amazing force and dries my hair in half the time my old one did, and it's completely dry when I'm done. I have very fine, very straight, long hair. Over the last year or so I have developed one spot that if it's not completely dry it will get wavy (I wish I knew why this happens) and it looks awful because the rest of it is straight. With my old dryers my hair always felt dry, but a few minutes after drying I realized it wasn't because I saw the wavy part had appeared. I have not had that problem with this dryer because it gets my hair completely dry in a fraction of the time of the other ones, and when it feels dry it is actually dry all the way through. I have not used the attachment because this dryer seems to direct the air in a very precise stream anyway, therefore I haven't needed it. I did pop it on to see how it fits and it did snap on fine and I had a hard time getting it off so it seemed well secured, but like I said I didn't use it with it on so I don't know if it would have a problem staying on during use. I did have to get used to the force of the air because I was so used to dryers that barely blew at all. At first I had issues with my hair getting knotted because I was holding it in the same position I used to with my old dryers, but once I realized the problem I held it at a different angle and now it blows the hair in the proper direction so it doesn't go all over the place and get knotted up. I used it on my short-haired dogs for the first time the other day, and they're usually afraid of hairdryers but they were fine with this one because it doesn't make that high-pitched noise other ones do. It also dries so much faster so they were very happy about that. Another plus is while it gets hot enough to dry my hair properly it doesn't get to the point of burning my hair like my old dryers did. I used to have to wait to put them away because they were so hot I feared I'd burn the house down if the hot dryer touched anything in the cabinet. This one doesn't get burning hot and it's cool to the touch when I turn it off, even when using it on high heat. I was reluctant to spend $50 on a hairdryer when I'd usually spent $20-30 but I'm glad I did because this one is definitely worth the price. I'm hoping it lasts a really long time too so I don't have to buy another one every year like I'd been doing.

I bought this hair dryer after years of always getting the $25 variety... y'all it's worth the money. I've had this little baby for about 2 1/2 years, and aside from the red finish wearing off as it gets dropped on the floor and beaten against the countertop, it really is in good shape. I notice a huge difference especially when I use a friend's hair dryer that doesn't work as well, and all I can think of is how much I wish I had remembered MY hair dryer. The air doesn't feel like it's blowing at you with hurricane force winds, but whatever it is... works really well and cuts the drying time down considerably. (If drying time is your thing... I recommend using some type of blow dry spray - my preference is the It's a Ten Blow Dry Volumizer)

I'm seeing random comments about the placement of the buttons - can't say I've ever noticed them being inconvenient. I love that I can change the settings without even looking. You do get used to it.

Anyway. 5/5. Do it!

Love this blow dryer and combined with the diffuser, dries my hair quickly and without any frizzing. The diffuser helps volumize my hair when drying from below while scrunching it. It is worth repeating a line from another review I read, I didn't realize the type of blow dryer made a difference in how my hair comes out. I thought it was the hair products but it definitely is the combination of both. This is an excellent dryer and one of the best I've ever had. I have very fine, straight hair and have had a great hair day every day since I bought this about a month ago. Highly recommend it!

Unfortunately the best thing about this dryer is the way it looks. In order to dry my hair quickly like I had purchased at for, I would have to use it with the attachment and on the highest heat setting. But then it would not only burn my scalp but the dryer itself gets a bit hot, making holding it too long, uncomfortable. Also when I would hold it, because of where the buttons are placed, I would change the setting or turn it off by mistake.

I really love my new blow dryer! My old blow dryer had been limping along - I think I was going on year 10. I finally broke down and got this one per my hair stylists suggestion - this is the one she uses at home as well. The only thing I am still getting used to about this blow dryer is that the "hot" setting is far too hot, uncomfortably hot, for my scalp. I wish there was a setting between "warm" and "hot." There are three settings - cool, warm, hot. Other than that, this blow dryer gets 5 stars from me.

This is a very nice hair dryer and is fairly quiet and lightweight as the other reviews stated. My only concern, and it may be unique to me, is that I have lots of very fine, slightly wavy hair, and this dryer is just a little too powerful. Instead of nice waves, I get a "feathery puff" now (essentially just sticks straight out). Even on the lowest speed, it blows my hair too much and loses much of the curl. Again, I doubt this would affect too many people unless you have really fine hair. I've tried the round diffuser and that definitely helps but I have to say I don't get quite the same results as with my previous dryer. The only other thing that I'd change is that, while the speed and heat controls are very convenient, they don't leave any room on the handle to rest your thumb. I keep inadvertently hitting the buttons when I'm using the dryer.

Otherwise, this is a great unit. Very good quality and does leave my hair with a softer texture that other dryers. Just can't handle quite that much airflow!

I had a mid-range, Babyliss hair dryer like this in high school (I was spoiled by my amazing mom :)) and I left it at home when I moved out because I didn't feel like I deserved to keep it since my mom used it too. So, I bought a $20 Conair hair dryer from Target and it's served its purpose over the last 5 or so years. This Christmas my husband suggested that I order the one that I have been wanting for so long; THIS hair dryer. I finally opened it and used it tonight and it is AMAZING. It is exactly everything that I remember and loved about that hair dryer I used to have. Needless to say, I would HIGHLY recommend this hair dryer to anyone and everyone looking for one that is:
-Quiet.
-Makes your hair shiny, silky, voluminous, and healthy-feeling
-Attractive
-Well-made
-Lightweight
-Smallish
The only "con" (and it actually hasn't been a problem for me yet, is that the buttons are in a position to potentially get accidentally pressed while holding the hair dryer).
Lately I have been letting my hair air dry because I hate the feeling of fried hair after blow drying it with those cheapo hair dryers but I have a feeling that I will be blow drying it much more often now that I have this one.

Before choosing this product, I read all of the reviews submitted to Amazon and I also tried the T3 Featherweight and the Babyliss TT 5586 ( one model grade up from this one). Ultimately this one seems to produce the best results- smoother shinier hair in much less time than the others, regardless of price, plus the dryer is lightweight and easy to hold. Other users had concerns with the attachment flying off but I don't feel I need to use it because the airflow is very strong, hot and direct anyway. The position of the switches has not been a problem, maybe because I have small hands and I am aware of the situation. I am concerned about the red dye coming off as some users have experienced. Time will tell and I'm hoping its just an issue with the pH of people's skin, hopefully mine is not too much either way to dissolve the red color. As far as how long the dryer will last, time will tell as well, but I don't really believe that these types of dryers are made to last that long, no matter the price. It's the exception rather than the rule when they do. I would be happy with a couple years of good service and would happily buy again if that proved to be the case. Ultimately it's the great results that I care about -- and the dryer definitely delivers!

Update since traveling to Caribbean with this dryer:
If you live in a humid area, buy this blow dyer! I have long wavy, curly hair that I love in the winter/dryer months and generally struggle to control during the summer/humid months. I just traveled to the Caribbean expecting to lather my hair full of product in a futile attempt to control frizzing and unwanted curling (think Monica from Friends in the Bahamas:-) ) . I haven't traveled with a blow dryer in years because hotels generally have a decent units these days. I AM SOOOO GLAD I TOOK MY Babylis Pro with!! After a full day on the beach and swimming, I had no choice but to wash my blow out and wish for the best. I used the styling nose (important point!) and my big round brush and blew dry my hair as usual. It came out soft and flowy, but I fully expected it to frizz and curl as soon as I walked out of the air-conditioned room. To my surprise, and SHOCK!, my hair stayed soft and flowy throughout my evening and even after dancing. To clarify, the ONLY anti-frizz product I used was a post dry silking spray (because I didnt pack my full size anti-frizz shampoo). I actually had decent, even pretty according to my boyfriend, hair throughout my week...I would do a commercial for this dryer after this trip!! I was thinking of getting the Keratin treatment this summer. This blow dryer just saved me $300!
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Like others have said, this blow dryer has a lot of power. Too much actually. I have long thick hair so I thought it would be good, but it's like trying to blow dryer your hair in a wind tunnel. My hair comes out to flat. I'm learning to work with it, but doing so means using the low setting more which means I'm not saving any time trying to dry my hair, which was largely the reason for my purchase. I wish I had gone with the other version...the white one. Don't recall the product number.

Have had this for 3 years. I have thick, wavy hair and it's done a great job smoothing it out for the most part where cheap dryers have failed. Only one star b/c like many reviews, the diffuser pops off easily. Also, the filter on the back broke over time. Three Cheap plastic prongs hold it on. Without it, it doesn't perform as well and it is much louder. Having to buy something else a lot sooner than planned when I paid so much for this one is a big disappointment. Hate to replace it when dryer part itself is still fine. Also, plastic on handle is breaking off too...again with gentle use over time.

I am a hair stylist and have used expensive professional hair dryers for years. I saw this at the beauty supply store and was impressed with the specifications. On a whim I checked Amazon before I put it in my cart. I was thrilled to find it $22 cheaper! The seller must have been at the computer when the order was placed as I had the blow dryer the very next day. This purchase was for personal use and i can't rave enough. I have short hair but I do spend about 20 minutes round brushing it. My dryer has to be light, powerful and gentle. I don't have ANY problems with buttons in the wrong place nor does the air director fall off. I have to guess these problems occur to people who don't know how to use them properly. I certainly didn't before I went to school. Next time you get your hair done watch how your stylist holds the dryer and how they use the tools. I don't even use the high heat setting as the low setting drys my fine hair quickly and thoroughly. The less heat you have to use the easier on your hair. My hairstyle lasts longer and refreshes better with this dryer. I may give away all my other dryers and just use this one.

The best part was how fast it dried my hair (which is why I was looking to buy a new one anyway). It at first felt like a typical hair dryer then I started feeling how fast my hair was completely drying..I roughly timed how long it took and it took literally about 5-7 mins tops!! When I finished I was shocked how dry it was, it did a great job. It wasn't too frizzy and my hair (being very wavy, thick and stubborn with curling out on the ends) didn't do that as much. My hair was also completelly wet before I dried it.-whereas to cut down drying time, sometimes I air dry it a little so it wont take me so long to blow dry. I still had to flat iron it but I didn't mind that, I usually do that and that doesnt take that long cuz I have a professional straightener (the chi) for that. I went to a hair accessory store in the mall today and saw tons of dryers, I saw this exact one, and it was in fact 80 dollars. I laughed and said to myself ha! Thanks amazon! lol...oh and the attachment didn't fall off, but truthfully I haven't really tried drying with it on, I did a little but it was secure and well I actually don't know how to use it with the attachment, so it doesn't really affect my hair routine anyway. All in all it's a great product, worth the money, and if you are looking on cutting down drying time this is a great choice.

If you have curly, frizzy hair, and require a gentle blow dry, this dryer is not for you. It is every extreme. Its low heat setting is more like medium/hot and its low fan setting is also more like medium/high. The nozzle is small and the dryer creates a very isolated and directed force of air, which is not gentle or preferred for a light dry on frizzy hair. This dryer is created solely for a blowout using a thermal brush or for people who do not have issues with frizzy hair. What I found odd was that, considering its highly isolated air flow, the attachment included wasn't a diffuser.. this dryer is definitely not multi purpose. I should have stuck with my Hot Tools dryer, which I was very happy with. Had the dryer been created for multiple uses and hair types, I'd be much happier.. but its just.. one extreme.

My stylist tells me that Babyliss is a professional-level dryer made by the same company as Conair. After my last Conair gave up the ghost, I bought this model; however, it doesn't perform much better than some of the less expensive Conairs I've owned in the past. That's not so bad, but whoever designed this dryer didn't follow any principles of ergonomics. It's too easy to press on the switches accidentally while drying my hair. As a result, I'm concentrating as much on how I'm grasping the thing as I do on styling my hair. Have to hold it low on the handle to avoid pressing the switches, so that the weight is not well balanced in my hand. I have pretty big hands, so I imagine it would be even worse for someone with normal smalllwomen's hands. I won't be buying another Babyliss without trying it in person or reading a positive review about this aspect of the device.

I bought my first Babylis Pro blowdryer after running into a co-worker gushed about it so much that I couldn't help but get one. I can't exactly put my finger on why, but this blowdryer is nothing short of a miracle. Somehow, whether it's the temperature, or how the air comes out, my hair ALWAYS comes out as if I've had a blowout. And I'm not someone who likes to spend a lot of time on my hair. After a few minutes, my hair comes out perfectly and it lasts for 2 days. Also, I have gotten so many comments from people who say my hair looks great when I've used it.

One other story - I had gotten flooded in Hurricane Sandy and my blowdryer shorted out. So in the mad rush to replenish everything in my life, I bought a more expensive Conair dryer from Bed Bath and Beyond, thinking that it would be just as good. Well, after 2 months, with many overly frizzy days, dryed out hair days and overall "blah" hair days, I decided to go back to this dryer. And voila! My hair was coming out great again.

If you're in the market for a blowdryer, this is hands down, the best I've ever used.

I bought this hair dryer in mid January 2014. I decided that I would treat myself to a better dryer then what I usually buy. It was an investment, I thought. Well a few days ago, end of March 2014, I decided to remove the back where the filter screen is to clean off the "fuzz." This was one of the features advertised that I was interested in as most of the dryer I have owned are hard to clean the lint and hair off of. There are three plastic clips that fit into slots where the filter attaches to the dryer. Two of the three broke off! What the heck! I now have the filter screen on the back of dryer with one clip and scotch tape to hold it on! For this price, I expected better. I have bought drug store blow dryers for $10-20, and they have lasted for 5 years or more. I shouldn't have to tape my filter screen on, for what I paid for this dryer and it being only around 2 months old. I love the dryer, but it is the fact that the material has not even held up to normal use. I am going to email the manufacturer and see if they stand behind their products. If they do, I will update this review. If they don't, well don't waste you money. I will update!

Meh, not my favorite and surely not worth the cost. I had the orange Conair prior to this, the "as seen on TV" one and liked it much better. Problem with that was it was my second in 3 years due to first motor went out after a year and this one just stopped working 2nd year. Thought I'd research and find "better" but not so.
I've seen the Conair in the drug store for around $39, I may just go back and buy that one, like it quite a bit better. I see no smoothness benefits with this one as I did with that one. I'd swear by the Ionic functionality in that one but not this, definitely not worth what I paid. Guess I learned my lesson, will never pay $80+ for a hair appliance again. I really like this hairdryer! Keep in mind that I've only been using it for a few days, but I wanted to write this review since I was initially on the fence. Compared to cheaper hairdryers like Conair, this REALLY is much lighter and a bit smaller than you might imagine from the picture. The air stream doesn't feel overly powerful, which disappointed me at first because I thought it would take forever to dry my long, fine hair. However, my drying time is probably shortened by at least 1/3 using this AND my hair looks soft and shiny! If the only thing you're looking for is volume from heat, then I wouldn't get this - that said, I get decent volume for my fine hair and didn't notice my hair noticeably flatter. Overall, a great product that I'd recommend if you want a quiet, effective, and shine-making dryer!

Have not experienced problems with the attachment as others have mentioned in the past. There is a "warm, cool, hot" button and I love the warm setting - dries my hair without burning my scalp. The "hot" setting is great for just generally drying your hair quickly and then switching to another setting for styling. There is also the "cool" setting which is used in combination with the push-down cool button and that's a great setting, as well. The handle is comfortable to hold and I don't find myself accidently switching settings as I have done in the past with other dryers. I'll definitely be looking to purchase the travel size dryer, as well. Just for comparison sake - I had a $120 Chi dryer before this one and it lasted only 18 months and I wasn't nearly as happy as I am with this one.

Absolute trash. The paint came off on EVERYTHING next to it (see pictures). I had to throw away several items, along with this demon dryer to keep the sticky red mess from spreading. Don't buy.
