Best speakers but pricey
These are hands down the best speakers in the market. I have two computers a laptop for work and a desktop for gaming.
I needed speakers that would work with Bluetooth and wired. This one definitely fits the bill.
One suggestion is I would recommend the bass speaker as well I purchased the as8 bass. If you are listening to music while you are working you will need the bass.
Very easy to set up mostly plug and play. All the boxes took forever to break down but over all I would recommend these speakers.
Make sure to break in the speakers for 40 hours for best sound.

Incredible sound
I bought these to go with my tv. I have audio engine a5+ on my other tv but the HD6 are absolutely a step up in quality with noticeable improvement in bass and imaging. The sound is crisp and powerful. I also have them connected with an Apple TV 4 and the HD6 sound great on movie night. My wife loves them since the voices and dialogue are clear. I bought the S8 subwoofer but honestly I’m not sure the setup needs it. The speakers alone have a lot of base and music is amazing. These are so good I’m thinking about grabbing a set of HD3’s for my desktop computer setup.

They sounded great right out of the box
I bought these speakers about a month and a half ago. They sounded great right out of the box, but as they broke in, i could actually hear a difference as time went on. I use them for my tv and with my turntable (pro-ject debut carbon dc) and occasionally via bluetooth and they work perfectly with any input. I plan on upgrading my turntable in the future and i have no doubt these speakers will sound even better with higher end equipment. Sound reproduction is excellent, the highs are crisp and any volume. If there are any shortcomings, it would be that very low frequency sounds are a bit weak, so those who listen to hip hop or rap, etc would likely want a subwoofer. the speakers themselves are constructed very nicely. The housings are very sturdy and seem to be made of high quality material. Definately would buy another audioengine product in the future!

Non audiophile review
These speakers are fine for me. They sound great to my untrained ear, look good, and I had no problems with getting them up and running. Easier to pair than I thought with stands. Was looking at a KEF that was almost double the cost, but these are fine for me.

so these sound....uhhhhh..... amazing? yeah, lets go with that. They sound incredible and put out more bass than I typically expect from bookshelf speakers. I did still pair it with the S8 Sub because I like to feel the music or movie. Remote is made from solid aluminum so it's got some heft which is just lovely. face plates are magnetically mounted to the speakers and seem to automatically center themselves, so that's pretty sweet too. 100% worth the investment so far!

You have to break them in. Don't judge sound right out of the box
I'll be honest I was a little unimpressed with these at first. The bass seemed to overpower the other frequencies and it seemed a bit muddy. I looked in the manual to see if there was an eq setting that may have been causing this and what I discovered (as with all speakers) is that these have a recommended break in period of 40-50 hours of casual listening so I gave them some time. All I have to say is wow!!! I gave them about 6 hours and they sound phenomenal. They are pricey but worth every penny!

Speakers go Boom
I have the A5+ and upgraded to the HD6. Optical from my Mac Pro and no complaints while I do work. Highly recommended for those who need to work and listen to music at the same time.

Initial reaction is that they are good for movies, but not so great for music.
I streamed several high quality vinyl rips through VLC on my macbook. To get the sound right, I had to take off 3db 170hz-310hz, and add 3db at the top end 14khz-20khz. Do this and you get a great sound, but otherwise there's too much midbass, causing the muddy sound that others have commented on. I'm curious to see if anything changes after a break-in period.
For movies I would have liked some sort of dynamic range compression option for late-night viewing.

Poorly Supported Speakers
I bought these speakers thinking they were a quality product. The jacks did not seem to fit in the horizontal, and most obvious, holes on the bolt connectors, for when I presented them, they seemed too large for the holes and I didn't want to damage the jacks. I then presumed the logical method was to use the vertical holes in the bolt connectors (otherwise why have holes in the first place?). One jack fitted the other didn't! I learnt later that the jacks have to be pushed into the horizontal holes. The lack of customer support from the manufacturer in not giving clear instructions (a simple diagram would have made it so much easier) is not good. Also, the bolt holes being so illogically (to my mind) different in size suggests there could be other build problems. Also the manufacturer's product guarantee is USA only.

Happy Customer
Easy set-up with my Samsung TV and painless BT connection to multiple devices. Paired with the S8 subwoofer these speakers are loud, clear, and substantial and get the job done when it's time to crank up some Slayer, Kendrick, or Star Wars . If you like to play your music/movies loud now and then and don't want the hassle of putting together an AV system, browse no further.

Bass Muddy, Treble Over Emphasized.
Bluetooth worked great, but the base a bit distorted and treble over emphasized, drowning out mid-range. They do have more bass than the HD5, but physics limits what you can do with a speaker this size, and over driving it is not very clean. Actually gave me a headache and had to return. The HD5 would be better, as they stay within the limits of what can realistically be accomplished.

I have the A2+ speakers, as much as i love them these are simply on another level entirely. Truely. The most important thing is to run them in for a couple of days as this really seems to improve the sound.

Absolutely stunning sound.
I have had them connected for an hour or so and they are really quite stunning. I did purchase iso acoustic stands to go along with them. Bass is perfect and so far response on the high end has been very good.

Great sounding, quality built speakers.
Not going to go into detail, but I highly recommend them. Upgraded to these from my A5+ was hesitant at first but it was definitely worth it.

Harsh, terrible sounding with no bass.
If I could give less than 1 star I most certainly would. These sound absolutely horrible with no low end whatsoever. Very trendily and harsh sounding. Wanted to have a nice set of speakers for vinyl but ended up going back with my sonos speakers.
Can’t say enough how disappointing these were. Do not buy if you have any type of ear for music it will drive you insane.

Great speakers IF they work
No doubt these are great sounding speakers when they work, but right after the ~40 hour break in period the left speaker started clipping at higher volumes. No support from Audioengine in Canada unless you want to ship them to the US for about $130.
